Ease of Use : 8
two seperate fuzz modes very easy to use, but also a noise mode and hiss mode which take a little experimenting to understand. one volume, one knob labeled expression, which increases fuzz sustain and adds upper harmonic and mild ring mod to the fuzz. the noise and hiss modes are toggle switches, as is the fuzz A/B option

Sound Quality : 9
yes 9 is a very high rating but this pedal sounds amazing! fuzz mode A is a rich fuzz with a nice rounded tone, and as you turn up the expression knob, it adds the best upper octave sound I've heard. the fuzz on this pedal is a twist on the old gated fuzz which will fart out as it decays. the twist is that if the expression knob is set counter clockwise, it decays fairly fast and farts out quickly, but set clockwise it has upper octave and will sustain for a really really long time before the gate kicks in. also, set like this, if you decrease guitar volume, it will not clean up, but will act as if you were turning the expression knob counter clockwise. so you can control the pedal with your guitar volume to some extent. also it's great to have a fuzz that doesn't clean up with the guitar volume but instead allows you to control fuzz intensity, upper octave and how quickly the gate reacts, all with the guitar volume knob! O.K. fuzz mode B is a brighter, grittier fuzz with THE most insane upper octave sound EVER!! it is so intense that it will behave almost like a volume swell. bright scrambled ring modded nasty fuzz chaos, but organic and beautiful at the same time. the best part is that these fuzzes would be very noisy when you stop playing, but as the gate kicks in.......silence! again adjusting the guitar volume decreases upper octave, fuzz intensity, and alows the gate to react faster. hiss mode will require a little practice to master. basically it adds a cool low-fi hiss sound that becomes more exagerated as your note decays, so if you play constantly, you won't hear it very much, but if you let a note ring out, it becomes noticeable. great for vintage guitar sounds, or if you just want a unique quality to your sound. the noise mode causes the fuzz to oscillate in a crazy synth like way. very wild, very insane, very cool, and it will oscillate even when not playing. your settings on the pedal and guitar will effect this setting alot, and sometimes if the expression is set to high, this mode will drop in volume. all settings of guitar or pedal effect the noise and hiss modes, so some tweaking is required, but it is a lot of fun. all in all an extremely versatile, unique pedal.

Reliability : 10
Devi Ever of Effector 13 stands by his work 100%. no worries if something goes wrong. this is not my first Effector 13 pedal, or my last, and I
I've never had a problem.

Customer Support : 10
I've now had this and an Improbability Drive special built for me, Devi is a pleasure to deal with, and is responsive to emails, inquiries, and just shootin the shit. If I ever have a problem with one of his pedals, I have no doubts that it would be repaired or replaced straight away.

Overall Rating : 9
I play Psyche RnR fuzz chaos and have been doing so for many long years I know....I also have or have used Wyllie Moonrock, Dano French Toast, Euthymia Crucible fuzz, Effector 13 IDrive, Holowon Tele-buzz, Maestro fuzztone, Acetone fuzz, Voodoo labs superfuzz, Moserite Fuzzrite, Vox Tonebender, SIB Mr echo, Foxrox Paradox TZF Flanger, etc. i play a Phantom Guitar Works Phantom thruogh a reissue Vox AC-15. The noise floor holds it's own against any fuzz i've used. I would challenge anyone to find a more extreme yet useable upper octave sound. What's best about this and all Effector 13 pedals, is there uniqueness. if lost or stolen it would be replaced instantly.
