That great thick 90's fuzz tone. It gives one sound, but it's definitely a good sound. It's damn quiet when on, and just as quiet when disengaged. It almost sounds like The Smashing Pumpkins. I use mine for rhythm, because the sustain is nonexistent. I play a 70's classic strat through a Fender Stage 1600. I usually use the effects built into my amp, but when I use effects, this is always there. My signal chain is pretty simple:
Strat > Boss SD-1 > E13 Silver Crank > Line 6 MM-4 > Stage 1600

Devi is great. I won a Soda Meiser in an auction. There was a problem, and about a 3-week delay, so Devi sent me a Silver Crank too for free.

I play alternative rock, and this complements it perfectly. I love the sound. If it were stolen, I'd have to buy another. The only complaint I have is the lack of sustain.

First of all, this is a fuzz pedal (if you didn't know). It's pretty easy to get a good sound out of it. Well that is if you like the sound it makes - it only has one control nob, and that is volume, so it doesn't need a manual, which is good because you don't get one. I personally love it, though I prefer it with humbuckers to single coils, and it really needs to go into a clean amp to my ears. I think if you put it into a driven amp its way too messy and you loose the interesting character of the pedal.

I like it and it does exactly what I wanted it to, tons cool sounding fuzz with a hint of fizz. It's lo-fi yet full. It sounds alot like the sound that billy corgan used on tracks like muzzle, but sort of crappier - in a good way. It has tons of power and response. It is 'out there' like the other effector 13 stuff, but less so, and so more to my taste.
It has very little sustain, which I like. It sounds a bit like a Fuzz Factory with the gate closed in that respect, but the quality of the fuzz is different (go and listen to it on the effector 13 site). Super squished.
It is really very quiet for what it is and it has true bypass - a must I think (well, I have some none true bypass stuff which is fine, but it is moogerfooger stuff, so its high quality so you dont get a bad bypass even though it isn't true bypass)
Oh and I use it with a USA strat and a Gibson Xplorer Pro through my trademark 10 (I know I should get a valve amp - I'm on it).
The only slight down side to the sound is that it has a lot of treble, perhaps too much in some ways, but you can combat it with the tone on your amp and guitar.

Not dealt with them. Hope I dont have to as effector 13 are based in the states, and I'm not - I live in the UK.

For recreating a smashing pumpkins sound this is pretty good. It may be good for other sounds too - I dont know, I got it cause I love Billy Corgans music and this pedal does that sound well enough.
I play lots of styles of music (well, all styles from mellow folky type rock to hard rock - ROCK!!!) but with this pedal I just play big chunky heavy fuzzy chords and twisted leads.
It is a bit of a one trick pony, but I really like the trick it does. It is uncomplicated and high quality. If you are looking for a 90's type super fuzz with a lo-fi garage band quality, take a look at this pedal. If I could have anything extra on this pedal, I would like a tone control, but you cant have everything, and the simplicity is nice.
I've been playing a few years now - took up the guitar later than some people do, but I've always been a musician.
I own a bunch of other distortions and fuzzes (fuzz factory, Machine, Jekyll & Hyde (the red one), Keeley modded Rat, Keeley Modded Metal Zone, Peach Fuzz, Cream Puff, a crappy Big Muff reissue - the less said about that the better) and this one is up there with the best that I have - nearly.
All in all, very nice, very useful and a bit unusual. I would recomend it.
