This is actually an old EH small stone in a box that says Electra. You've got an on/off switch, and vario adjust, and a color switch. Easy...

Sound Quality : 9
I use lots of pedals & several guitars into my main amp, a Carvin MTS3200 half stack. As I've said, its really a small stone (Small Stone is printed on the board, even says EH, if I remember correctly), the pots date to May of '77, so I'm only a few months older than it! Weird. I've never played any other phase shifters personally (generally its not a sound I'm going for). Here's the thing, this was my very first pedal purchase, (pawn shop for $20, probably thought he'd ripped me off, and back then I had no idea what it was) and I am still completely happy with it (no point buying another brand). I don't use the color unless I'm feeling obnoxious, but I put the vario in the middle (12 o'clock, low effect) and it rounds out and smooths my signal. Just beautiful; its funny, I didn't like it at first and didn't touch it for 3 years or so. What a waste! I remember years ago thinking that even when it was off it could be detected phasing my signal, but I don't notice it anymore. There is the slightest volume drop when engaged, but who cares!?!? Also, mixed with a lot of reverb, with the color on and the Vario all the way on, I can make my guitar sound like an elephant!!! A very sought after sound, that elusive "elephant tone"...

Reliability : 10
It's 24 years old and sounds better than most new pedals. Does that sound dependable?

I hesitate to mention this pedal (in the hopes that I find more), but reading another Electra review it seems the secret is out anyway. If you find one, BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
