pretty easy to use. just take some experimenting. it can be tricky if you're a looper who is into getting the perfect loop and playing over it. however it can also be great for getting a loop to use as a rythm or keller williams type stuff if that is what you're into. it just takes some practice but so does everything. don't be lazy! I use it more for ambience bill frisell type stuff. it is great for that. you can set up a loop and slow it down or speed it up and record the new settings and continue to slow that new loop down or up. all kind of stuff. you can throw it into reverse. my only complaint is that you can't use the reverse settings in actual play, you can only throw it into reverse after you have recorded a loop and then you can reverse the recorded loop. alot of people complained about how this sort of gives you a tempo and you have to get insync with it but personally I think it's a good thing, it may improve your timing. there are three different settings, continous-which allows you to continually throw in noise or riffs or whatever and it will keep building and building until you just get complete mayhem haha. then there is standard- this is where you just want to loop one thing that you might use as a backdrop or a ryhthm you want play over but you can also keep hitting the record button and have it record over the loop. then there is the delay setting which is like a delay pedal but with extremely extended amount of delay time all the way up to the point where you can just make it loop. this is where you can throw on a little bit of depth from the sweep lever and have it sort of decay gradually so it is warm and non-interfering with what you play. excellent pedal overall.

Sound Quality : 10
excellent sound, you can either get a loop that reproduces that exact quality of the sound you put in or you can throw on a small amount of depth from the sweep lever and get a nice gradual decay which can give you that lo-fi sound. excellent true bypass. excellent sound.

Reliability : 10
not a single problem with mine, I bought this used and I have had it for a couple months and haven't experienced a single problem with it. the only issues mine had were that the switches on the back had been busted off during the shipping process (bought it off ebay). But I don't blame the pedal I blame the shipper for that one. Other than that no problems at all so far.

Customer Support : No Opinion
haven't had to deal with them because like I said, it seems pretty reliable.

Overall Rating : 10
personally for the price, I paid $250, I think this is a great pedal to add some fun into your band or just at home playing. I am into effects so this is my personal opinion. I think the guitarist options have just opened right up and I see no reason for not using all these wonderful gagdets we have available now.

when used as a looper it works best for non rythmic loops.i guess in that area it's all about playing around with it,make things happen and letting things happen.I have one with a memory upgrade to about 22 seconds which was done by EH in 1984.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
I think the "secret" of the original 16 second delay is the sound quality,or lack of it depending on what your taste is.The sound it throws back at you is a lo fi 12 bit reflexion of what you played. That's what i love about it.It's not a perfect copy of what you played in terms of sound but a nice warm blanket that flows by and seems to not get in the way.

Reliability : No Opinion
well i got two and one crapped out on me after a very short while.not amusing.some of the converter parts havn't been made since the early 90's so it's wise to hunt down some essential spare parts i guess.for the rest i don't think there are problems that couldn't be fixed by a good repair dude.check out the loopers delight 16 second delay pages for trouble shooting.

eh i don't think so

I love it.The sound is the key.probably only the lexicon pcm 42 or the zvex lo fi loop junky delve into this realm soundwise. In terms of tricks and stuff a lot of newer loopers do the same but like I said,it's about the sound! In that respect the reissue in no way matches the original.
