Really easy to use, there's no manual, but you don't need one, you don't even have to know how to read

Sound Quality : 10
It sounds great, really thick, good sustain smooth sound

Reliability : 10
Always works for me, I dont think it would be possible to break it, its a big green metal box.

havent tried.

Overall Rating : 10
I'd buy it again, its my favorite distortion pedal, it's ugly but it sounds great. I'd recommend it especially if you like Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins.

On its own, this is a pretty amazing pedal. It gets a smooth, warm thick sound and looks cool to boot. As I said, its geat on its own, but do yr self a favor and try to find the original if you can. They're harder to come by, but they are so much more raunchy, thick and downright disgusting than the reissue. I'm definetly holding on to the Russian one, but mostly as a backup for my sometimes crazy vintage one. But given the choice, I'd buy it again, with or without the electro harmonix version in my arsenal.

The thing is a breeze to use. There are just three big knobs: volume, distortion, and tone. I always have distortion cranked all the way up and volume about a third of the way up. Then using the equilizer on your amp, the tones on your guitar, and the tone on the Big Muff, you can make it sound just like you want. If you have time to sit down and find the sound want, this pedal if great.

I think this is one of the best sounding fuzz boxes around. I think Billy Corgan used one on Siamese Dream. The only ohter fuzz box that is as good as a Big Muff is the Boss Hyper-Fuzz. I have both of them and I would reccomend trying both of them before you buy one. I can usually tweek them to sound pretty close.

Reliability : 9
This thing is big, green and ugly. It looks like some Russian military device. I've never dropped it, but it looks like it could survive a nuclear war. It's made out of steel. I've never had it short out and it doesn't seem to cut out my high signal.

Overall Rating : 9
I would highly reccomend this pedal or the Boss Hyper-Fuzz, but for half the price of the Hyper-Fuzz, the Big Muff is a steal. The only thing I would like different on it is an AC adapter. I use rechargable alkaline batteries for it, and it seems to work pretty well, but I always carry a back-up battery around for an emergency.

This pedal is pretty easy to play around with, and there are plenty of cool sounds available. There is no manual, but its pretty self explanatory.

Sound Quality : 10
This thing is awesome. To my ear it messes with your clean sound, but who cares when the distortion is this good?

Reliability : 10
Its built like a tank. It take a licking and keeps on ticking.

Overall Rating : 10
This is the coolest distortion (overdrive, fuzz, whatever). It is my favorite pedal. Almost any sound you can imagine you can get by playing with the knobs. I recommend it highly. If you try it youll probably buy it.
