I don't know how much other people are expecting of their fuzz pedals but this does all it says very nicely. No need for a manual or firmware etc. All knobs work like you'd expect.

The only criticism is that there is not much range on the sustain (drive) knob. From very early on, it is REALLY fuzz. But I guess that's why we buy them...

Sound Quality : 9
I love it. I tried lots of other fuzzes (Bozz FZ-2 and FZ-3, EH Big Muff and Double Muff and others) and to me- through my setup- fuzz always sounds too filtered, and filtered differently through each individual fuzz pedal. The LBM was the only pedal I have used which really seems to let your tone through unfiltered, and then go nuts with fuzz.

Fender Mustangs/Jag/strats->Boss limiter->Boss auto wah->EH Little Big Muff->ProCo Rat->Boss HF-2 flanger->MXR Phase 45->Carl Martin trem->Marshall Echohead delay. Amps are usually a Laney LC-30 tube combo or, on special occassions, a 1970s Vase Trendsetter 60 tube head with a Marshall cab.

Reliability : 10
I've had it for over a year without a problem and it seems well built. Of course, EH has a reputation for some suspect workmanship, so time will tell. But this seems well built and no problems so far, so I can't mark it down.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never used, so no opinion.

Some people may not want what I want from a fuzz. But it does what I want perfectly. It may pay to look at other fuzzes, in case something else grabs you. Fuzz is a very subjective effect. But there's really nothing I can criticise overall about the whole package. And then there's the price, which just makes it an overall bargain.

Easy as any other Muff: Volume, Tone and Susdtain (distortion). Though getting a good sound is a bit more difficult because the tone nob is to exteme and is only useable between 12 and 2 o'clock.

Sound Quality : 4
Compared to my 90's Russian Green Muff this sounds like crap. I bought this because I love my Russian Muff, but its seen better days and is starting to fall apart. I figured I'd use this and give the Green one a rest, so Ill have it when I really need it. But this Little Muff is no substitute. It doesn't get any where near as "blisteringly distorted" and the tone nob has a very small useful range. I only find the tone bareable between 12-2 o'clock. If set any higer it gets terribly "hissy sounding". If set lower it starts getting muffled, I understand that it's a Muff pedal, but it starts loosing distortion and begins sounding like you havent changed your strings in about 100 years and looses all punch and definition. Unfortunately I dont think this is a good pedal, and am considering trading it in and getting a NYC Big Muff.

Reliability : 10
One of the main selling points, I love the new little casing. It feels much more stable and rugged than vintage EH products. I think this is a fantastic improvement, and is what made me buy this over the NYC Big Muff.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 6
Some major improvements over previous EH products, but unfortunately it doesnt hold a candle to other Big Muffs, sound quality is just terrible in comparison. The new shell is cool, but keep walking. Break the bank, and dump the whopping extra six bucks to get the NYC version.

straight forward, does what it says on the tin! Battery access not a problem as I'm using a power supply.

Sound Quality : 7
It's a dirt box, what more is there to say? plenty actually... Sure, this thing is designed to sound nasty, and it does, but in a pleasing kind of way.
I'm playing a EJ Signature Strat' into a Cornell Romany Plus amp via various effects, most notably a Barber Silver LTD overdrive. My basic sound is vintage Fender through and through, plummy bell like tones and soft clipping perfect for blues and moderate rock. I use the LTD to get a bit more drive and sustain at lower volumes (it's only a 10 watt amp, but it's loud enough to get me a divorce!!). It's a great OD unit, very transparent, but doesn't really deliver much filth. Enter the LBM:
This thing doesn't do subtle, with the sustain (Gain) rolled right back it struggles to produce a decent sound - it just crackles a lot. Wind it up a little and you begin to hear what its about, dirt and sustained dirt! Very nice, but I find the extreme settings just too much.
Back to the rig, I have found using the LBM with the LTD produces excellent results. It's strange and I don't understand why, but the LTD seems to clean up and smooth out the sound of the LBM. Be careful with tone controls, these things seem to suck a lot of treble out of the signal - best used on bridge pickup with tone right up. Oh, and this unit doesn't clean up well when guitar volume is rolled back as reported on other fuzz boxes.

Reliability : 7
Haven't had it long enough to form a real opinion. However, looking inside the box, it's looks like a surface mount type PCB - very small modern component's machine loaded to the PCB, and some of the solder is dull. Time will tell I guess.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 7
I'm not sure anyone should get too hung up on vintage vibe, handwiring etc etc, with a unit that efectively designed to destroy your signal - and in doing so this unit does extremely well. Hendrix, ZZ Top and any number of tone munching sounds are accessible using this unit - especially when used with other effects. 7 is actually a very respectable score for such a cheap piece of equipment, I'm very pleased with the purchase.
