Ease of Use : 10
dead simple- three knobs, footswitch, power switch. volume (seems to be post-comp gain makeup) sustain & tone.

Sound Quality : 10
it says "low frequency compressor" which made me want to buy it straight away; let them keep their daft names for the guitarists ("screaming tree"?). I use it on bass guitar and (once) vocals. I wondered how I had even managed to play bass without one.

Reliability : 9
it's quite old now- I'd guess 25-30 years since I bought it s/h 22 years ago. it's become a bit hissier over the years, and I now use a brown boss LM2-B (the original three knob version is best) instead, but it lacks a certain something. the EH has never let me down sonically; I think it benefits from having 2 9V rails.

Customer Support : No Opinion
EH? customer support? maybe now.... never tried. I thought that's what the internet was for..... most of the schemos are out there somewhere.......

love it. if it were stolen, I'd put out a want-ad immediately & when they bring the thief to me, slit his throat.

Bass Guitar/Keyboard Bass - Amazing Deep Fat Round Sound !
I also ran a lot of different instrument and it was a little "Noisy"
on the "Freq" High position but in the middle down it is Purely great.
Can get also "Funky" sound with the Sustain/Gain up and Freq mid-up.
and Who cares about a little noise? Do you live in a LAB???

Reliability : 9
It is all Metal 70's construction.
They knew how to build "Non Plastic" boxed way back...

This pedal Takes a bass sound such as a Bass guitar or Keyboard bass
( I've tried it Tobias/Hofner/fender and also with a MiniMoog)
and just Beef it up and rounded it up with no volume changes...!!!???
I just don't get it at all. How does it do that? It creates a
Round sound that after the first time you use it you wander "How di i play/Record music without it.
The guy that sold me this pedal told me that it is
"a little Noisy"...lol
If you take a bass sound and sustain it up with the "Freq" control
up - it is going to be noisy...Bass frequencies are below not above the middle and the reat is noise anyway.
However, I did use it with a drum track sounds and I was flying
back to the "70's" again.
Very cool and Very Rare these days.
If you see one - Grab it.
