Ease of Use : 10
Very easy--knobs for volume and drive, and a warm/bright switch.

Sound Quality : 9
I'm set up for direct recording. PRS single cut trem through a number of good pedals including Teese Wah, EMMA Discumbobulator, Xotic Effects RC and AC+, TC Electronics Nova Delay... into a Vox Tonelab, then straight to the board and on to the computer.

This is a fuzz that has a good array of tone and does not over-emphasize the high end, though it can produce some ice-pick tones if you ask it to. The low end is tight without being too thin. It has the open, raspy kind of sound you want in a fuzz, but again, it has some body. I have tried a number of fuzz pedals, including the Keeley Fuzz Head, Voodoo Lab SUPERFUZZ, Catalinbread V8, and others. The LessDrive is my pick among them.

Reliability : No Opinion
I haven't had it for long but it seems quite sturdy.

Customer Support : 10
Osman is very responsive, helpful, and easy to work with.

Overall Rating : 10
I play and record my own stuff, in the general rock/progressive/fusion genre. I've been playing for over thirty years. Sometimes I need a sound that is not so polished and smooth as I usually use, and the LessDrive is a great way to get it without being totally out of context. For my style, it is the best fuzz pedal I have found. Also, it is a great value. Hand made, true bypass, high quality for a low price.

This just has two knobs, Volume & "Less". It also has a Warm/Bright switch. It has a similar footprint to a MXR pedal and is similar in it use.

Sound Quality : 9
I am using a Fender Cyber-Twin SE, a USA Stratocaster as well as a couple of Yamaha guitars. I have used this on both a clean & dirty amp setting and have had great results. This is a mild fuzz pedal! If you want a High Gain in your face fuzz check out their Fuss Drive pedal instead. That being said this is a great pedal that has a massive amount of boost and as you twist the "Less" knod to max you can get a mild/medium amount of fuzz. Like their Fuss Drive I feel this is a "cleaner" fuzz sound. It is not as dark and muddy as my Dunlop JH-2S Classic fuzz. The warm/bright switch works well and there is a noticable change in the sound. I like the fact that you can get your fuzz but still keep the sound clean enough where you can hear what you are playing. Combine this with their Fuss Drive and max them both out for an over the top fuzz fest. It also works well to clean up my JH-2S, and can be used to boost the signal going into the amp. I like it!

I have not had it for too long, but so far so good.

I found dealing with this company was a pleasure, and they do what they say they are going to do. Make sure you read there FAQ's and there shipping info. Lead time is 2-3 weeks so be sure you know before you order!

Overall Rating : 9
I have only been playing for about a year so I am no expert, am I even a novice yet???? I play mostly 80's Rock and like a screaming sound. This pedal is a good edition to my collection and feel it is well worth the $ 70.00. Where else can you get a hand built USA pedal for this kind of coin! I own their Fuss Drive and will order from them in the future. I have a Metal Muff & a Vox "SAT" pedal and feel these are of similar quality.

Ease of Use : 10
Simple to use. Volume and "Less" knobs.

Sound Quality : 7
I only rated this an 7 because I just didn't think it did much. Yes, it removes the muddy lows, but it doesn't add much fuzz at all. Electronix's FussDrive is MUCH better if you're looking for fuzz. Also, I got some noise with this pedal, but I'm looking into it now - may have been my cables.

I'm sure this pedal has uses, but don't expect it to make mind-blowing tone changes.

Reliability : 10
Very durable pedals. They put them together right.

Customer Support : 10
I sent this LessDrive back to them after about 2 weeks of trying it. They sent me a FussDrive right away only asking why I didn't like the LessDrive. They EVEN asked me what I was looking for in the Fuzz pedal, and tweaked my new pedal to my needs. Very responsive customer support.

Overall Rating : 9
While I didn't care for the LessDrive, I think that Electronix pedals are quality made pedals. For me it was just not the sound I wanted, I'm sure there will be many that are happy with it.

Ease of Use : 10
Two knobs, "volume" and "less" (gain). Each knob is effective throughout its range and gives a pronounced result. Very easy to setup as a clean boost or overdrive, depending on how you dial it in.

Sound Quality : 9
Works relatively well as a clean boost, though it does slightly attenuate the low end. This is a good thing when you dial in more drive.
Tends to get crackly at low volume settings, though I can't really imagine when you would want it to attenuate your signal. Good overall clarity throughout the range of gain, thanks to the low cut. This pedal doesn't muddy up your tone when you are playing chords or leads.
Note to note clarity is excellent and your tone is not drastically altered. I was very pleased with the overall sound.
I was looking for something that would give a true, vintage solid state distortion sound and this totally delivers. Through my AC-30 it sounds a lot like a 7-Series Vox distortion, think "Paperback Writer" or "Sgt. Pepper". Through my Twin Reverb the sound is very present and punchy, without the flubby low end of an overdriven Fender. It doesn't seem to add any noise to my signal, even at high gain / high volume settings. This is not a saturated fuzz sound, but more of a overdrive distortion sound. Again, just what I've been looking for, for a long time.

Reliability : 10
I haven't had it for very long, but based on the simplicity of the circuit, and the build quality I would give it high marks here.

Customer Support : 10
I was very hesitant to buy an unknown pedal from an unknown maker, but after several emails I felt assured that I would be pleased. They seem very honest and reputable.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I've been playing for 20+ years now, and I have played through or owned most every distortion box out there. Honestly! I have always been hard pressed to find something that could give me the sound of my SuperBeatle or 7120 distortion tones. I can say that the LessDrive is the closest thing I have found yet. This pedal stands out from the crowd of sound-alike, saturated fuzz tones. It's more useful than a clean boost because it's not relying on overdriving the front end of your amp, though it can do that too. I have built and modified many pedals trying to get this lower gain sound with mixed results. I am very pleased to find it in a ready built, affordable package. If it were stolen, I would not hesitate to buy another, or two.
