I use it thru a fender or engl tube amp- the clean chanel and it sounds great, it has four chanels(clean crunch drive drive2) with 2 drive knobs and 2 level knobs but its very good adjusted. I like quite modern hi-gain sound and it's exactly what it sounds like
Only the outputs for direct recording doesn't sound good for me... but i just like the sound from valves and mikes...

I have it for about 3 years and one pot is broken and the input hole too... but i am not the first owner. The chasis is from steel and the butons for switching looks indestructible- by the way each channel and by-pass has two MIDIch programs..you just plug the MIDI out to your fx

I am professional and am playing from some acustic music thru pop recording to my favourite jazzrock fusion...I like the way engels sound... I have compared it with rivera, boogie, laney.. and engels sounds to me much smoother and more modern sounding... I use MM silhouet and Fender deluxe tele from 78'. Only some chorus and delay from stomp boxes... I will probably buy a combo 4 channel from engel becouse the preamp is one thing more to carry to gigs...
