Setup and initial use is a breeze. Factory presets are impressive and programmed very well. Editing these is usually straighforward but programming new presets is not an easy task without using VSIG and a computer connected to it. Further, adding front panel controls to the preset is manual labor, each parameter can be added / removed from front panel control, adjustable by knob, button or pedal. The options are deep. A preset is what you make of it.

There is no compromise on sound quality. Has adjustable sampling rate from 44-96khz. This is the most 'non-destructive' unit ever heard, doesn't modify tones or add noise, it's CRYSTAL clear samples are used extensively by the delays and pitch shifters to add superior quality taps. Gates are present to 'hush' the unit as programmed. Includes a preamp for vintage sounding distortion, but with the effects on board each preset is more flexible than any other single standing unit. A proper preset should have all your effects built in with ability to mute down programmed into front panel. Shouldn't even need to change presets for each song if presets are built with all modules included and the ones used volume up and the ones not volume down. To switch, a simple twist of a dial will adjust 'ganged' values. The preamp is an ADA-MP1, almost unused at this point because the Eventide does so much. It is just putting out clear tones, ocassionally used to distort signal when Eventide is bypassed, my old sound.

I've had issues with the input jacks when I was using 1/4 cables but the XLRs are full proof and work nicely. It's a simple construction, just a couple of circuit boards and ICs.

If you have to call the company, real people answer and even 'call you back' within 1 hour. Dealing with Evenitde is a privelege.

A good value? These are expensive as everybody knows. With that comes customer service, quality of sound, power of unit, and knowledge of years of research in field. I would play mostly acoustic music up until this unit brought me back to my electric. I've been at it for 20 years or so, used other processors for effects and nothing compares to the audible quality of Eventide. If lost I would be disappointed and likely replace it. I love the power of this unit, can program deep presets with lots of control. I most appreciate the quality of the signal and that it's not destroyed by sub-processing. In a unit as deep as this, the only drawback is programming it. I bought it thinking 'pitch shifting' would be it's highlight, but really the delays are my favorite. I wish that the shifted pitches were cleaner and that the harmonized notes were as clean as the original but using these features is like salting your food, a little is usually enough.

A stomp box mentality will be overwhelmed, not for the 15 year old novice at all. Once you figure it all out theres really nothing like this out there. The clockwork delay is amazing. Its an advanced unit...not for the faint of heart by any means.

Sound Quality : 10
Sound quality is superior to anything elso on the market. You can record great stuff here..a lot of soul and vibe. Extremely quiet, im using this unit with 2 Soldano heads, a Marshall Plexi, a Speedster Amp and a Mesa Boogie Recto. They all do the job in different voicings. The Chorus/ Delay is the best there is.

Reliability : 10
I only use it in the studio. Its flawless.

I have just gotten the dsp 7600 and I am blown away by the machine. I had skimmed the manual on-line (see Eventide website) and had a pretty clear idea what to expect. The interface is pretty basic, the manual is to the point. The only major problem I had was getting around from one program to related programs, belonging to a related "family." I can still use the manual (I liked the whimsical descriptions of the patches in question, but they tend to be under-elaborated--on the other hand, each loaded patch has an "Information" button that gives you the whole lowdown) and target any one program organized in banks (vocals, guitar, keys... etc) but I am looking forward to being able to instantly switch from vocal plates to related instrument plates. The manual is vs. 1. Sometimes the pictures don't duplicate the display, but all in all, it's really accessible

Sound Quality : 10
Impeccable. If you've never heard an Eventide, you need to taste it, before you know what a truly lush effect is. If you know what an Eventide sounds like, you don't need to be convinced. I have used it only in the studio--for some reason, the idea of taking it on the road makes me shudder, even though the unit seems sturdy and reliable. According to the manual, there are not so many moving parts inside and, short of spilling beer on it, there's not much that can go wrong, if the unit is handled with reasonable care

Reliability : No Opinion
I should hope so. The unit shipped last week. Too early to tell

Our small, local recording studio caters to folk musicians, rock musicians, a little jazz.... the Eventide has quickly made a great difference. Fast mixdowns, with gorgeous sounding results. The downside, of course, is, given the units incredible capabilities (it has more than 1000 patches as factory presents, and that's only the tip of the iceberg!) there's always the nagging suspicion that another patch would have worked even better! For the time being, I am familiarizing myself with the unit, trying to learn what each patch kinda sounds like. Even so, I cannot cover more than a dozen every day. It will take a while before I get through them all. I haven't found anything that the machine seems to be lacking. I have used TC Electronics and am familiar with their patches, but this is an entirely different ballgame.

The Eventide DSP line of processors is set up a little bit differently than a TC G-Force or any Lexicon piece. Once you get use to the interface you will be able to tweak things quickly.

The Vsig application is pretty deep. Its a graphical PC editor for tweaking patches for the DSP line. Vsig is the more indepth and earier to see/use version of the internal patch editor.

I use a total of 3 DSP units in a guitar W/D/W system. There are 2 DSP 7000s and the DSP 7500 in the system. The sound quality is sublime. There are some really awesome factory presets. You can easily tweak them and make them your own. If you are looking for a super processor this is the one.

Reliability : 10
This is a hughly reliable piece. With the software V3.002 it is rock solid.

Italo at eventidehelps on Yahoo is a huge help. He knows his Evetide gear cold. Huge resource to have this available for free.

I like Eventide processors the best out of all I have tried. I have owned a bunch over the years, Lex, TC, Sony, etc. The Best!

Quite simply, the most adjustable, versatile, inspiring effects unit in the world. Only using it as an effects processor for stage or guitar is to only use about 1% of its capability. As such, youve got to get your head into the lever arch file manual (seriously), get rid of the girlfriend for a few days, and do some reading!!

Sound Quality : 10
The effects are without parallel. Sit back in the knowledge that no matter what anybody says, or what they use YOU are using the best unit in the world made by the best pro company in their field..period. The only things that can even be compared are other Eventide units, and then only really the Orville.
Every effect is stunning with no negative affect on guitar tone.in the studio I have used the Eventide for mastering and vocal processing/sessing etc, its still incredible. Do buy seperate machines that can do what the DSP can do will cost you thousands more. Basically, at this end of the market, there is no room for compromise and professionals such as myself demand the best. This is not a consumer product, but the pinnacle of the high end.Get your wallet out and stop looking. I use mine with a Boogie Triaxis and a Boogie Simul 295. Sometimes I use a couple of other things in the chain, but thats it, no messing around. It is totally transparent. Whatever sound you want no matter how subtle or wild, its there, and is a real MUSICAL tool, no just another crappy box for the rack.

Reliability : 10
Ive owned mine for two years and it has never let me down. On a recording session the software hung during an ardous mix. I had to re-export my audio from the Mac, but it was no big deal. Ive gigged it without incident, but never let it out of sight, because it may as well say STEAL ME on the front !!

Customer Support : 10
I had some programming headaches and tech problems when I first got into the unit. Eventide returned my emails within 24hours, and offered to do a diagnostic online !! Absolutely second to none, which is what you expect at this end of the market. These guys are 100%.

My main stlye is rock/fusion. I use a heavy tone with bebop style phrases etc. ive been a pro player for 12 years. I also play jazz, country etc and do various things for magazines and TV. Its all there with this set up, from Rockabilly to Numetal. Trust me when i say YOU WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK TO ANY OTHER MANYFACTURER AFTER OWNING AN EVENTIDE DSP 7500...end of story. This cured my depression !!

Once you'll listen to this box, you won't care about ease or else: it just sounds majestic! You can use the 700+ factory presets or get into algorithm construction w/Eventide Vsigfile editor.
It can take a few weeks to get familiar with it...but it's honestly worth it. You can't be disappointed.

Sound Quality : 10
I do guitar gigs and studio work. This box has the best fx I have ever heard. I am familiar with the best tools of the trade, Lexicon Pcm 70, 80, 90...300 and 480, TC 2290, M3000, GForce...nahh, this processor puts them to shame. Its reverbs are really top notch, pitch shifting is stellar, preamps sound nice, all sort of FX are just what you would go for. It's really the best I have used so far.

Reliability : 10
I'm using it since a few months...had no problems so far, gigging and recording. I don't have a backup unit.

Customer Support : 10
They have the BEST customer support ever.
Eventide Helps, on yahoo groups. Answers come back very quickly, w/extended and exhaustive explanation. The guy that runs it is a guru!
Feels like having somebody always at hand, with the best advice possible.

Overall Rating : 10
I play almost any style and my DSP7500 is perfect for everything I do. I have been playing for about 25 years and own/owned all top notch gtrs/amps/fx units in the industry. There's nothing I don't like in the box. Actually I find it very inspiring, like a new musical instrument that helps me making music.
If you get one of these boxes, your search will be over.
Get serious, jump on the best and you'll save money and hassle.
It's really that good.
