Like the earlier review, you have to know how to set this up. It is not plug and play. I bought it on EBay without a manual, and was able to set it up without any hassles.

Sound Quality : 10
The sound quality is unsurpassed. I have used Rocktron's pro chorus, Digitechs Delay, etc. This unit is very human sounding if you catch my drift. Very warm and real. I use custom Warmoth guitars I build, as well as a Jackson Soloist. I run through 2 preamps ADA And/Or a Gainiac. I only use the Gainiac for clean sounds. The gainiac is sent through the Eventide. (A Hush unit sits in the front of the chain). From the Harmonizer the clean is done...Straight to the power amp. I wont bore you with the dirty channel you probobly won't use this unit under heavy gain, (although you could get cool stuff from it).

Reliability : 10
This thing is over 20 years old and runs like a top. All manufacturers could learn a lot from Eventide. I would and do play without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them. Probobly won't have to either.

Overall Rating : 10
I play mostly Rock/Blues...with a taste of metal to wash it down. Listen! You can not, will not beat Eventides products Period!

A well known and well respected unit- you need to know how effects are created to really use this thing. The pitch change is simple, you just basically dial in the amount you need, chorus/flange are both accessed through the same funtion, you just need to enter the delay amount you want (below 14ms is flange, above 14ms is chorus). And when you want a simple delay- just push the button for the amount you would like.

Sound Quality : 9
The reason they are so well known is because of the way they sound. Top studios still use them. The best flange/chorus sound you can get anywhere- really really BIG FAT sound. You want that Van Halen super stereo processed spread sound? Run your amp straight through the left speaker, run the amp through the Eventide on the right speaker- PRESTO. This is the box he used until the H3000 became the big boy. (Listen to 5150 and OU812 to get an idea of what is sounds like- it was also used on the vocals for that huge thick sound).

Reliability : No Opinion
At this point in time, if you find one- it either works or it doesn't.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't dealt with Eventide yet.

Like buying a Vintage sports car- you either love it or you hate it. Most people love this, and I do too. It is a beautiful unit, and it makes some beautiful sounds. I LOVE IT!!! These things are on EBay alot, so if it looks like something you might want, check there. I'm holding on to mine.
