Ease of Use : 10
Very simple as has been said below. Set the volume knob to preset the volume drop when the pedal is engaged and set the tone knob to control the high end roll off. Both controls are passive - power supply provided for LED only.

Sound Quality : 10
This pedal gives me an instant footswithable volume drop to a precise preset level. Somthing I find pretty much impossible to do using the guitars volume pot. Also some of my guitars volume pots are virtually on/off switches - the Pot is a much more graduated pot giving much greater control over the precise volume level. The high pass circuitry and tone control work very effectively - you can preserve your tone or deliberately set a slightly different tone if you prefer.

Reliability : 10
Very well built. Have had no problem at all with it and been using it for a year now.

Customer Support : 10
I got this pedal just about a year ago and was so pleased with it just out of the box I promised Justin Everman I would post a review at the time. Its taken me a year. Thankfully Justin is much more responsive and reliable than I am. He was a pleasure to deal with and responded quickly and informatively to my email enquiries. He was happy to accomodate my particular wishes (i had my pedal wired so that the LED is on when the pedal is "off" as mentioned bleow).

Overall Rating : 10
Such a simple pedal that is so useful to me this could only be a 10. I use it into the front end of my Univalve. The Univalve is asingle ended class A single tube amp that gives power tube distortion that is very sensitve to signal level - input volume. set the amp to give my a good mid gain lead tone. I then set The Pot to clean it up to a good crunch rythym sound. I also have a boost pedal (I use a Keeley Katana) to push the lead sound even further. With this set up I effectively use my single channel amp to provide three differnt overdrive levels and it works a treat. I have my Pot wired so the LED is on when the pedal is off so that visually it responds like a boost pedal ( when the LED is on I get more overdrive because the pedal is off).

Ease of Use : 10
Very easy to use, just two controls - one for "tone" and one for "volume" = "The Pot" is a remote, true-bypass volume and tone control.
You don't need a manual or anything else. There is no need of a battery or power supply as it is passive (and I don't care about the "LED")

Sound Quality : 10
I use it with a "1966 Fender Coronado II" and a "1965 Dynachord Rex"; "The Pot" stands within two more effects ("Fulltone Fat Boost" & "MXR Preamp") at the end of the line. As it is a remote control for volume and tone it doesn't affect your sound in any way. In comparision with a volume pedal you can adjust the loss of tone (sound) and it's much more comfortably and faster to handle than the volume and tone pots on your guitar.

Reliability : 8
I bought it a few weeks ago - so I cannot say too much about reliability. I already used it several times on stage and it looks and seems to be made very solid. I cannot imagine that anything negative will happen (soon)...

Customer Support : 10
Prompt & fiendly email contact - in the interest of customer the item has been shipped via "Express" without extra charge (voluntarily I payed 10 USD extra). I'm from Berlin (Germany) and Mr. Everman from USA - but I really didn't get the impression that there is such a distance between both countries.

Overall Rating : 8
I'm playing in a Sixties-Garage-Combo, wild & crazy ;-) So any stuff has to consist of an enduring quality and stability. "The Pot" is a solid built, nice looking, valuable volume & tone effect and it totally fits into my small board of analog (vintage) effects. It replaces any sound- / tone-affecting volume pedal and the uncomfortably (manually) operated volume and tone pots on your guitar. As it is a passive effect (potentiometer) you don't need a battery or power supply (only for the "LED" - but I don't care). I don't want to miss it - not at any time. I rated it overall with a "8" because of the price: 130 USD just for a "simple" volume & tone effect is extreme.

I am the customer with "heavy feet" who asked for the custom POT pedal with tone control and roll bar to protect my settings. You can see a picture on the J. Everman website.

I use this pedal so I can leverage the power sections of my class-A amps as my primary distortion source. With the POT, I can kick the distortion "on" and "off" by instantly reducing the volume going to the amp. With the tone control, I can also make sure that my clean sounds aren't too piercing relative to a scathing (in a good way) distortion tone. I don't know why I'm giving away my "secrets."

The pedal is very easy to use, though I suggest getting the tone control option so you can roll back the impact of the high-end preservation capacitor if you want to. If you don't know what I'm talking about then you probably don't need the tone control. I am a little twitchy about tone.

Sound Quality : 10
This thing sounds awesome. Initially, I was concerned that the tone preservation cap was too strong, and J. was very helpful in discussing options to tweak the pedal with different cap values. However, I stuck it out and have found that the cap value he uses is quite flexible when paired with the passive tone control. If you use this pedal with a very moderate volume cut, it actually functions a little like a treble boost in that it accentuates the clarity of your notes. I've been using it engaged slightly followed by multiple stages of gain/distortion to get some really nice distorted sounds. Very bell-like with my G&L ASAT, for example.

Reliability : 9
Seems durable. It's a simple pedal and it's very well constructed.

Customer Support : 10
J. is very, very helpful and prompt. I hope he can keep this up as his business grows! Buy his stuff!

Overall Rating : 10
I don't know why more companies aren't offering this pedal concept. I've seen many bands using boss GE-7s or the like to cut the volume going to a ragingly overdrived Marshall (Hey Mercedes/Braid, for example). This pedal is much better than a GE-7, as it has the advantage of true bypass and zero tone alteration. To truly rock, you must think in REVERSE!

Very Easy to use, the led light is like the sun sparkling the a luscious round crystal

Sound Quality : 10
Guitar - Strat. Amp - 1968 100 watt Plexi. Effects - teese rmc 3, analogman nkt sunfuzz, klon, maxon ad900, deluxe memory man. Not noisy.
Excellent - I sing and play guitar, so it's difficult for me to always adjust the guitar volume knob in the middle of playing. This makes it easy and retains the high-end. note - i still do use the volume knob on my guitar, either in conjunction with the pot pedal, or by itself if i actually want a little high end to roll off. Works great before the fuzz face. I found an interesting use - i can get a unique sound by decreasing with the volume pot, yet increasing with a klon centaur (doesn't cancel eachother - rather you get a slightly different sound.

Reliability : No Opinion
Haven't gigged yet, so i don't know how it will hold up, seems well built.

Customer Support : 10
J. Everman seems very concerned about the happiness of his customers

Simple one knob box with a potentiometer and additional circuitry built in for avoiding high end loss. No manual for it, really, but if you can turn a kno, you can puzzle this out.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using this in an unusual setup, probably quite different from the way most people would. Rather than in front of my amp, this is in the effects loop as a virtual solo boost. The pedal doesn't BOOST volume, but like the pots on your guitar allows you to set a lower volume level for your output. I'm using this to set a killing solo tone, and then, turning the pedal ON, maintain a great quieter RHYTHM tone by slightly padding the output. This seems to be a solution to an issue I've had for awhile: using ANY boost pedal I've tried seems to add a very slight harsh edge to the solo tone of my Mesa, Budda, or Rivera amps. I've been using old DOD FX10 BiFets for solo volume boosts, and although you can control volume and tone, ebven these add a very slight and unwelcome edge. I'd been searching for a true bypass pedal that would duplicate the FX10's function, and had used Matt Farrow's Class A boost pedal in a fashion similar to J's (padding output for rhythm rather than boosting output for solos), but had not been entirely satisfied with the results. The Pot seems to have handled the issue beautifully. Not noisy at all. Using my amps' dirty channels or the other sonic options I use (Fulldrive II for country, blues, and moderate gain rock soloing, DP1 for more intense, Pumpkins type overkill) turning this pedal off results in more volume without an additional stage of amplification to achieve it.

It also works well in front of an amp. I could easily use this as a volume boost in front of any of my amps (all in the 30-75 watt range with plenty of available headroom) and get a more traditional result.

Reliability : 10
Built like the proverbial tank. I'd tack up a banner with it and put it back on my pedalboard for the job.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
Great match for any style of music that requires a rhythm tone that has to jump out for lead solos. Gives you the true sound of your amp and its pedals without any additional gain stages for soloing.

One knob for volume control. One True Bypass switch for on/off. It doesn't get any simpler, folks! The Pot is a volume control pedal that enables the user to cut their volume, while still retaining the high end and with no loss of tone.

Sound Quality : 10
Here's a quick look at my setup: Bi-amp between Orange AD140TC (through Orange 4x12 and Fender ToneMaster Custom shop 4x12) & an older Soldano Hot Rod 50 (through a Bogner 4x12 straight). I run a huge chain of effects as well (2 boards that are 48x16 each). I was tired of the loss of highs/tone that appeared when I rolled off my guitar's volume knob. Also, it begins to get a little confusing when you're running alot of effects, and then messing around with your guitar's volume. The Pot was the perfect solution to my problem. With it, I'm able to retain my tone/highs at a volume cut of my choosing, and it's in pedal form which is by far easier for me to use than fumbling around with the volume control on my guitar. Also, The Pot enables you to go to the same volume cut every time, eliminating the guessing game fumbling around with your guitar's volume pot. The Pot works well with every effect on my board.

Reliability : 10
I've owned an Everman Fuzz Drive Deluxe for quite some time, and the quality of his pedals are the best! Never had a problem, and The Pot is built with the same craftmanship, so I definitely don't anticipate a problem with it either.

Customer Support : 10
Customer Support is as good as it gets from Everman! Quick response to emails. He's also very willing to work with the customer. I received the pedal quite quickly after I purchased it as well.

Overall Rating : 10
The Pot was the answer to one of my biggest problems in my "rig". Convenience and sound quality are two very important aspects to me, and this pedal solved my problems. If it were stolen, I'd replace it in a heartbeat. On a side note, Everman pedals also look classy as hell, and The Pot is no exception. His pedals are top notch, and I wish I had a little more $ lying around, as I would love to try out the Octave-X of his as well! You can't go wrong with Everman.
