Ease of Use : 10
Are you kidding me? It is based on a Big Muff with the added feature of a mid scoop. Couldn't be easier. In response to the "How easy is it to get a good sound?" question the answer is it's easier than falling off a log. I don't think there is a bad setting on this thing if you are using it right.

Sound Quality : 10
Lately, I've been running this thing by itself into a 64 Super Reverb. Haven't really tried mixing and matching with my other effects which include a Boss CE-1, Electro Harmonix Small Clone, (Which is probably going to be replaced by a Moogerfooger phaser next year) a Klon Centaur, and a Electro Harmonix HOG. However, I did try it with a Mu-Tron C-200 Vol/Wah (which I'm thinking of trading off for a Teese) for some Maggot Brain noodling, fun stuff!!! (those unison bends sound great and the oscillations are crystal clear!) The guitar I'm using is a GVCG 63 Strat Replica (The last of a few I think John will ever make, it's too bad I didn't get a Tele, he makes wonderful Fender repros). Anywho, this thing is amazing. Although, prior to this I've only owned the Sovtek and Electro Harmonix Reissue Big Muffs I can say this... I think the EHX version is way better than the Sovtek, and that the J. Everman is way, way, way, way better than the EHX. It's just a better built, quieter operating, larger souding, harmonically richer, smoother and more versatile fuzz (it has an internal bias and 2 internal switches to alter the tone stack as well). One of the first things I did was max out the sustain and put everything else at 12 o'clock, hit a E major chord and listened to it ride the pedal for what seemed like a minute. This is the longest sustaining fuzz pedal I have ever heard. I mean, if you have a decent vibrato you can actually keep the thing sustaining for as long as you can keep your vibrato up. How cool is that? Now, I always read a bunch of "I only give 9's because I don't believe in perfection." I don't think rating pedals should involve Plato's theory of the forms so... this being the best sounding Muff clone I've ever heard, I'm giving it a 10. If that makes me a zealot, so be it.

Reliability : 10
Only had it for almost a week, but ummmmm... it looks built like a tank. I mean really, go to www.jeverman.com and look at his specs. I don't know if he has pics posted of the inside, but he should. It's a work of art. Very economical and very tough looking. I would definately gig without a backup. It's the best built pedal in my board.

Customer Support : 10
I bought this direct from Mr. Everman. Not only did he keep me filled in on the build time, allow me to choose the color of the LED, gave me extra stickers, and got it to me earlier than predicted, he also seems like a really nice guy. And the fact that he is environmentally concerned (he tries to reuse shipping materials) makes him a pleasure to deal with. I don't plan on ever buying a used Everman because I'd really like to endorse his policies. Hopefully he does very well. I also plan on getting a Fuzz-Drive sometime next year based on how much I like his Muff inspired pedal.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I play a lot of diffent stuff but listen to just about everything. Dub, reggae, jazz, avante-garde jazz, funk, punk, kraut-rock, heavy-metal, folk, classical (broad I know, lately it's been all about Satie), noise-rock, hip-hop (been loving the first De La Soul album) and of course all the great rockers of the past, like Jimi Hendrix. I should say that this pedal is getting most of it's use for Eddie Hazel Funkadelic tones, Pink Floyd tones, and Smashing Pumpkins stuff. If this were lost or stolen, I'd pony up and get another. I can't imagine anything being better, maybe different... but not better. Well, I can't think of anything more to add other than apologizing for any spelling and grammar errors. I'm in a bit of hurry, got to go to work.
