All of Evidence Audio's cables are directional and are labelled with either heatshrink or a red end to signify destination end. Plug it in and giv'r!

-A friend of mine turned me onto Evidence Audio and I at first was a little leary because of the price tag. However after reading countless reviews of praise for the entire product line, I decided to purchase a 10' to try it out. I was using Planet Waves at the time and with just the one cable I noticed a difference in my lows and mids. The lows became slightly fuller and punchier. The mids became clearer and very nice. The following day I purchased a 20' for my pedalboard to amp and my god.... Same thing happened. I was blown away by the difference. Within a couple of months I had the rest of my cabling (except pedalboard was with Monorail) converted to the Melody. The first jam with it all in, my bandmates noticed the difference before I could tell them what was different. MY overall tone became much tighter, clearer, punchier, fuller (almost 3D quality it is so full sounding)..... Incredible stuff!

I have been gigging with it and I have yet to encounter any issues. The construction seems very solid so I'm not overly concerned.

I've been playing guitar for just over 11 years in the Metal genre. I am a gear enthusiast and spend alot of time/money investing into my rig. Cabling which is often overlooked and scoffed at is a a very worthy investment and a great improvement/upgrade to any rig. If you're willing to spend thousands on an Amplifier and Gutiars, why not spend some on the cabling to connect it all? I am extremely pleased with the results of the Melody and the rest of the Evidence Audio product line. I think I am going to invest in the Lyric HG next for my long runs to see the difference between it and the Melody. I hear it's quite the difference again!
I give the overall rating a 9 as the product is top but the $$ is a little tough to swallow at first.
If my cable(s) where lost or stolen, I would defenitly replace it with Melody or possibly the Lyric HG....... That or hunt down the theaf.

These are the cleanest and clearest instrument cables I've ever heard. They simply sound remarkable. A huge difference over commercial-grade cables and a noticable difference over some other high-end cables.
My entire system is now wired with EA Melody including my pedalboard patch cables. 10 ft. from guitar to ABC switcher and tuner (small board by amp), 6 ft from there to amp input. 15 ft. from amp effects loop to main pedalboard, 15 ft. from pedalboard back to amp effects loop.
Pedalboard: Telenordia TA-100 > Road Rage 8-channel looper; Boss BD-2, CMATMODS Brownie dist., DOD FX-65 chorus, Retro-Sonic Phaser, Catalinbread Semaphore Tremolo, Retro-Sonic Analog Delay.
'06 Clapton Strat/'95 American Strat through Fender Hot Rod Deluxe w/ ext. cabinet.

They seem very reliable and well-constructed. The real test is playing the occasional gigs with semi-pros or amatures who walk all over cables without thinking because they don't know any better.

I didn't buy them direct from the company. I bought them from Lava Cable, a distributor in North Carolina who will make custom lengths. But I e-mailed Tony to tell him how pleased I was with his product and he sent me back a very kind, heart-felt e-mail thanking me, which I thought was really great. This guy cares passionately about what he does.

It took almost a year of piece-mealing to get my entire system done with this cable but it was worth the expense. If you care about your sound, then get a really good quality cable. This one is. (I also replaced the captive speaker cable in the Fender with a EA Siren II).
My advice is: if you really care about your sound and have invested in high-end guitars, amps and effects, don't go down to your local music store and buy a $20 commercial-grade cable to connect them. Your system will only sound as good as it's weakest link. Buy cable that is in the same class as the other gear you own. You won't regret it.

It's a cable; although, they are unidirectional, but clearly marked. You can use them in reverse for a different kind of sound, if you want that sort of thing. Basically, plug and play.

This is why I bothered posting. These cables are sweet! Before you read on, here at my stats:
Fender Stratocaster with Seymour Duncan passive pickups
Line 6 Pod X3 Live
ART MPA Gold Tube Preamp
Aphex 204
dbx 166XL Compressor
Mackie ONYX Mixer
JBL PA Speakers
I use three ten-foot cables. One from the guitar to the Pod, then a Left/Right from the Pod to the tube preamp inputs. I use ProCo TRS patch cables between the rack units and ProCo XLR cables from the rack units to the mixer, only because I can't afford to upgrade to all Evidence Audio cables right now.
I used a Monster (gold-tipped) cable from my guitar to the Pod, and ProCo cables from the Pod to the rack units.
The 'Melody' cables made a HUGE difference. I'm sure the Lyric HG would be a better choice, if money is not an issue, but these three cables really made a difference! The sound is more open and full. I can really hear the notes in chords now; everything is much more articulate. Everything from totally clean to extra-heavy gain is more focused. I can hear the tinniest nuances now. The sound is more 3D, so I really can't wait to see what a Lyric HG sounds like.

Lifetime warranty. Solid construction you can feel and see right away. Nice sturdy plugs; better than any I've ever come across in 17 years of playing. You can't really ask or expect more.

Not sure, but they seem like a really cool company, and I read several reviews before buying, most people have nothing but great things to say about them and their product.

A little pricey, but worth it. Come on, if you're looking at upgrading cables and got as far as looking at reviews, I can tell you've spent more than $1,200 on a guitar and as much or much more on an amp. Cables matter!!! You might not think or know now, but you will once you've stepped up to real quality. You can by a Lamborghini, but only the tires touch the road, and that determines the ride and handling; your cables are the tires between the guitar and amp. You owe it to your tone to upgrade your cables. Yeah, they're expensive for the price, but copper prices have gone through the roof lately, so that is to be expected.
Look, if you have a $200 Squire guitar and a few DOD pedals, you don't need these. The cable is the least of your tonal problems, but if you are looking for something that lets your guitar really shine naturally, Evidence Audio cables are the way to go. They are totally neutral and won't color or mud up your sound, no matter how much gain or effects you throw at it.
I highly recommend these cables. They improved my sound, and I already had pricey, high-end cables. I would really like to try the Lyric HG. Just from viewing the specs and reading reviews, I can only imagine how much they would improve the tone over what the Melody already has.

This is what it all comes down to. These are simply the cleanest, most well made, most balanced cables on the market. Your instrument comes out very clean, full, and natural when using these cables.
It's important to understand that typically these aren't going to do any wonders for a bad guitar or amp, or whatever else you use them for. Don't expect miracles from a cable. What you can expect is the cleanest sound possible from your equipment. These are hand made by one of the smartest guys in the business, and he clearly knows how to make an excellent quality cable. Read some of his articles on the Evidence Audio website to get an idea of how cables really work.
I use these cables with my Fender strat (passive pups) and Taylor acoustic into a Fender tube amp. I started using them after seeing that David Gilmour (and his touring band) uses them.

The premade cables are very well made. If you order custom lengths from a shop the quality could vary somewhat on the individual who makes them.

I would give them a 20 in customer support if I could. Tony (the guy who makes the cables) personally responded to all of my inquiries, in extreme detail when necessary. When all of my gear was stolen they went out of their way to help me out. They guarantee all of their products, and they stick to it.

I play classic/prog rock and blues mostly, although I think the idea behind these cables is that they are perfect for any use. I have been playing guitar for a little over three years, keyboard for several more.
I had some that were stolen, and there was zero doubt in my mind that I would replace them immediately. I'm glad I did.
Other cables I used before were the typical guitar cables from Fender and Guitar Center brands like LiveWire, etc. I never had any problem with those, but they are not as clean and transparent as the Evidence Audio cables. Compared to other hi-fi cables like Monster, these are easily comparable (better imo) and far cheaper.
