The latest Exar pedals look very similar to the Jacques pedals and are about the same size as an MXR pedal. They are hand made in Poland and have a life time warrenty. This chorus pedal has Level, Depth, Rate and a Tone control which allows you to do quite a bit of tweaking. I didn't find it hard to find a good tone at all. It can run off a 9V battery or a Boss style power supply.

This pedal is quite transparent and doesn't smother your sound with a think heavy chorus blanket. It can go from a light slightly flanging sound to a wobbly underwater sound without necessarily taking over your dry tone, it just seems to add to it. The tone control is great for focussing the chorus on different frequencies. I play hard rock using an overdrive JCM800 Marshall and use this at the front of the amp cause it doesn't have an effects loop. The effect fattens and widens my sound without losing any of the chunky definition or bass frequencies. I went through loads of pedals before finding this one and this one is the keeper. I'd love to try it through an effects loop....

The pedal has some interesting graphics on it which I really like. Some people say that it looks cheap but it is actually very well made with a metal case, etc. The footswitch is very sensitive and easier to use that your usual stomp switch and again feels robust. The pots are very tight and have a quality feel, as do the sockets. These pedals have a lifetime warrenty so even if they do go wrong Exar will repair them for free, you can't lose really!

Brilliant pedal IMO. I'm gonna try out other Exar stuff as well. I went through loads of chorus pedals (CS9, HBE THC, Small Clone, Multichorus, Supervibe, DOD, etc) before finding this one and its now a main part of my overal tone.
