Ease of Use : 10
This is a review for a "California" modded Vox Wah V847, and an EH Memory Man Deluxe upgrade. Both were made true-bypass, and both were souped up by Josh (FX Doctor) It was always easy to get cool sounds out of these pedals, but now they sound great.

Sound Quality : 9
Guitars are '84 Ibanez Artist, '63 Jaguar, and a '62 RI Tele into a Carr Rambler, and 96' Trace Elliot Velocette They all sound good with these pedals. The Jaguar loves the modded Vox. Very psychedelic. This pedal now has a throaty, thick sweep. It's what a Wah should sound like. Superior to the old tone. The Memory Man is at the end of my pedal chain, and now that it's TB, it does not suck my tone away like it did before. I used to have to set my output volume on the MM, and it was a drag, because it sapped your tone before it hit the amp. Now, tone just rips right through. I did'nt think I would be able to tell so much of a difference, but even the delays and vibrato are cleaner and sharper sounding than ever before. There was also a hiss on signal repeats that has been eliminated also.

Reliability : 10
Both mods seem to be holding up well. I had these done in early Oct. 04, and they haven't crapped out yet.

Customer Support : 10
Josh was very courteous and prompt with e-mail replies and prices. He seems like a stand-up guy. He had my pedals modded and shipped back to me within one week of receiving them.

Overall Rating : 9
I play blues/rock/psychedelia in the vein of Spacemen 3, Luna, VU, Beatles, Big Star, Television, and The Stooges. These pedals are two of about thirty that I have. Some are barely hangin' on, but they still make the sounds I need. I took a chance on getting these existing pedals modded without going out and buying ridiculously priced new ones. I'm glad I did. For my music, I need a cool sounding Wah, and a great Analog Delay. This was a nice upgrade in my tone arsenal. This was a very good deal, and I'd recommend these upgrades if you own these pedals. Thanks, Josh!

Ease of Use : No Opinion

Sound Quality : 10
Im running this wah with a fender strat through a mesa single rectifier. WOW. First of all, as everyone already knows, the crybaby by itself has a few problems. So naturally, after I bought it a few years back it went on the shelf fast. Then I started getting more into my tone and I decided to have it modded. This wah does not sound like a crybaby anymore! There is no more harsh treble, its true bypass, and the tone is wonderful. Seriously, I have never played on a better sounding wah pedal.

Reliability : 10
I would definately gig without a backup. Mainly because I trust Josh and his work. Im sure if something wrong happened its probably not something he did.

Customer Support : 10
Josh is an amazing guy! He emailed back within an hour every single time. There never has been a problem in this area and I know there never will be.

Overall Rating : 9
Overall, this mod did everything it could do to a crybaby without taking the whole circuit board out and just using the case. I think Josh even offers that if you want! Anyway, I give it a 9 overall only because its a crybaby. He made it sound as good as it can! If it were stolen, I wouldnt buy a crybaby again, but if I had another crybaby laying around, it would definately be in Josh's hands! I dont know how I ever played the crybaby before this mod. It really does make it a good wah pedal!
