You plug it in, stomp it, and tune. They don't come easier than this. I didn't look at the manual, but there is one in case you need it.

Sound Quality : 8
Standard Strat--> Death By Audio Fuzz War--> Marshall Vibratrem--> Marshall Regenerator--> PT-100--> Blues Junior NOS

Weird issue here. When I first plugged this in it tuned and all that, but in quiet mode it generated this horrible digital sounding oscillation! What good is a silent mode that isn't silent! After some moving around, I figured out that it was having a bad conversation with my Marshall modulation pedals. Since then I have moved it to the back of the chain, and no problems. Front of the chain was out of the question as I am of the school that believes guitars must be plugged DIRECTLY into fuzz pedals for maximum heaviosity.

Reliability : 7
If I were to tour I would probably switch to a Boss. This Fender works, but plastic breaks.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't called Fender on this item.

Overall Rating : 7
Its a tuner, it works, its cheap! If it got stolen/lost and I had some extra scratch I would probably buy a Boss or a Digitech Livewire. Better quality and bypass on those two.

It's pretty easy. You plug in your guitar, send a cable to the amp. tada! It gives you the option of muted vs. not muted tuning via the output 1 and output 2. The tuning we'll get to later.

Sound Quality : 8
This it's not super noisy by any means, but it certainly isn't (nor claims to be) true bypass. I played it through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and didn't hear any noise that wasn't there before at apartment-appropriate volumes.

Reliability : 2
no. mine died in under 2 weeks. please do not take this with you to a gig.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Didn't really try, honestly. Fender has a "with receipt only" policy w/ regards to replacement. I took it back to Elderly Music in Old Town Lansing, MI where I bought it, and they helped me find the Korg Pitchblack tuner for only 30 more.

Overall Rating : 1
I love that it's affordable. Originally I wanted the Boss TU-2, but didn't feel like spending 100 dollars. the PT-100 is only 50 on Musicians Friend, but I paid 60 for it. In any case, it's a piece of ****. It simply just stopped working. I didn't drop it, i have the right adapter with correct voltage and miliamps. When I took it back, the guy at Elderly tested it again, and it didn't work. So I know it wasn't just me.

Anything that costs that much that dies within the first year of regular to light use isn't worth a dime. I say buy a better product, even if you're just playing at home. Guitar Center may not be so forgiving.

Easy - plug in and tune!

Sound Quality : 8
So here's the thing: contrary to the previous posts, this pedal IS NOT TRUE BYPASS. Not sure where they get the idea, even Fender doesn't make that claim! Open the casing- it's clear that it's not a 3PDT switch (typical of most tru bypass). Follow the wiring - this is probably a half *** bypass (http://www.stinkfoot.se/andreas/diy/articles/bypass.htm). That said, while you do hear slight shimmer loss, I think it still sounds good! I left it in my pedal board because it's so easy to use, and that slight loss in high end is not unless you're looking for it (maybe unles you play tele-country licks).

works fine so far

Tunes accurately, slight loss of highend when bypassed, but not a big deal unless you're super anal about it.

Ease of Use : 10
bypass as well as live tuning, stomp on stomp off, easy

Sound Quality : 2
i usually use the pedal on bypass. sometimes it makes a loud pop when turned on/ off. very frustrating when the idea is to tune silently. sometimes it doesnt make a sound, depending on where im playing, but i have yet to find the culprit of the noise. well grounded outlets. same amp, same setup.

Reliability : 2
this is my main concern. the pedal itself is a solid metalish material, however the actual hinged platform is horrible. its a soft plastic. it doesnt actually have hinges. it frequently dislodges and reveals horribly cheap looking circuitry. i own many fender products as time goes on the more dissapointed i become.

Customer Support : No Opinion
havent bothered, its a failure in design, if they sent me another one it would be the same problem

Overall Rating : 2
cant wait for it to finally break so i can upgrade

Easier than the PT-10 to use on stage. You can't read the note in the dark on the PT-10. You can on the PT-100. Both are good tuners and rugged. I stuffed mine into a Fender guitar case pocket once and the plastic stomper button came off. I just snapped it back on and it was fine. I'd rather have a Korg, but these are about half the price. They also have a smaller footprint. I don't need a precious tuner to take to blues jams. Seek your own level.

Sound Quality : 10
I always use mine with the output that shuts off the guitar when you tune. This is the one to use on stage so you tune silently. The tuner is tru-bypass. The guy who took his back must have been using a cheap patch cord from it to his other effects because the pedal does nothing to the signal.

Reliability : 9
I actually carry a PT-10 in my guitar case and one of these sits on my amp. I like this one because you can see the note in the dark. One of the two pedals lost the nut for one of its two output plugs once. I just took the nut off the output I never use and covered the hole with electrical tape. Now I always plug in to the correct output. The plastic pedal came off once, but it snapped right back together with no damage. No other problems and the batteries seem to last.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
This is a rugged, accurate pedal that doesn't color your guitar tone. It's not perfect, but it's the perfect compromise between a really expensive one that you have to worry about and a plastic toy. Everyone should have a floor pedal tuner that can be seen in the dark if they play on stage with a band. This is about the cheapest one out there.

Plug in bass or guitar cable, plug in another cable to your amp. Stomp onto the device and tune. Stomp again and play. That's all there is to it. If you need a manual for that, well...

Sound Quality : 10
This tuner does have true bypass. Therefore it does not sound. This might be different in case you're not using it in mute mode but switched "parallel" to your signal. I don't do that, so no opinion. Furthermore, cables actually can affect your sound, unless you're playing an active bass (guitar). Those reviewers who claim that this tuner sounds bad also should keep in mind that there was an additional cable in the chain.
There can be some minor buzzes/plops when you step on the pedal which is another indicator for a true bypass function.
Summarizing: I don't hear any difference with my active bass. Stepping on it may cause plops.

Reliability : 5
It looks pretty sturdy but I'm afraid it isn't. The main chassis is made from some die cast material that seems to be very robust. Another plus: the connectors are attached to the chassis which makes the interior less vulnerable to damage by stepping onto the plugs.
However, the panel holding the LEDs and the note display is made from not-so-robust plastics. I would rather not step on this panel! Furthermore, the actual pushbutton is made from plastics. There are no real hinges, it is easy to detach. How easily will it break? Below this thing, there is a cheap and completely non-robust printed circuit switch of the cheapest kind. How many times on/off will it survive?
I must say I have the feeling Fender are trying to trick customers with the "die cast" label... even though the device is not too expensive, it's expensive enough to have a real switch and a metal pedal.

After stepping on the pedal, it takes a little while to wake up until it tunes accurately. But concerning the actual process of tuning my bass, it does a good job for me. It tunes in tune.

The battery can be replaced by using a coin as tool, the screw can't be lost. That's nice. As for the power supply connector: the usual crap as in all devices that use wall warts. When will manufacturers ever get rid of this lousy connector type?

Customer Support : No Opinion
Didn't need them yet, no opinion. I bought this with 3 years warranty and I hope I won't have to make use of it.

Overall Rating : 7
A nice little tuner without any extra options. Usage is totally easy, sound - there is none, so it is perfect. It is not too expensive and it does its job in tuning. However, it is less sturdy than advertised by Fender - a bit too less sturdy for that price.

No brainer. Stomp, turn the tuning pet til the light turns red, stomp, play. No problem.

Sound Quality : 10
Though some seem to disagree in other reviews, I found this pedal in no way colors my tone or causes unwanted noise. Well, let me say this: ONE time I was using it with my little Fender Champ 25 at a rehearsal space in Seattle and it would make this weird little feedback chirp every time I switched it on or off. But it hasn't happened since, leading me to believe...well, I have no explanation, I'm just glad it hasn't done that at all since. In so many words, the sound quality seems great to me so far.

Reliability : 10
Seems completely reliable so far. I mentioned in the previous catagory that it once acted a little funny but hasn't since. Well, about a week ago I played a very rowdy gig in which crowd members stormed the stage and started dancing around while the band and I played, stepping all over my pedals and spilling beer all over the place. By the time the dust cleared and everybody left the stage, the poor thing had been punted into the corner along with my Visual Sound Jeckyll and Hyde distortion. As our singer launched into the next tune, I dragged both pedals back to their proper spot and got my guitar (which had been knocked way out of tune) all tuned up just in time to play a guitar solo. I just love that when gear can survive a wild, rowdy show as well as a sophisticated, orderly one. For that, my hat is off to this reliable pedal. Well played, sir.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Not sure.

Overall Rating : 9
I guess I'd relate my band's aesthetic to that of the Replacements - we strive for pop gold, but more often than not, everything winds up in a big puddle of sweaty beer. I used to use the old Boss tuner, but sadly it was lost. I bought this pedal because it costs about half as much. The Boss could probably be thrown out a 10th story window and be a-ok. The Fender might not fare as well just because the trigger button thing is made of plastic, but the rest is die-cast steel and seems tough as nails. However, like I said, this thing has proven its ability to stand up to rough touring and gigging. Honestly, if you have 100 bucks to spend on a tuner, get a Boss and you'll probably never need another one as long as you live. If you're short on cash, get the Fender, which is slightly less indestructible. In short, it puts my guitar in tune accurately, and it has the brilliant option of cutting signal to the amp while you tune up. Highly recommended.

Very ease to use, just switch on , the led is bright ease to see in a dark stage.

Sound Quality : 9
It's a very good tuner for the money, the best in its price range.
It's ot noisy, turns on/off smoothly and do not affect my tone at all. All my pedals are good quality I think, my set is:
SG and LP guitars, Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Wah, MXR DynaComp, Fender PT-100, Ibanez TS-9, ProCo RAT 2, EH Big Muff Pi (Original 1971), EH Small CLone, MXR Phase 90, Boss DD-3, Lexicon MPX100 with footswitch, on a Giannini Duovox (Fender Twin Reverb copy)

Reliability : 6
It seems reliable , I don't use to have backups of any of my effects.
But it also doesn't seems to be as well built as a Boss pedal for example, and a lot more delicate than a ProCo.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Since I repair, fix, and even customize my own equipment I never need them.

Overall Rating : 8
Worth the money, good pedal, works properly and sounds good in my pedal board.

It's pretty easy to use. Having 9 led's is much easier than the 5 on my old DOD tec4 multieffects pedal. I have used it outdoors and did not have trouble tuning, though, from memory the note display was hard to see but not really an issue for me if I can hear what the note is.

Sound Quality : 5
Well now here's the issue. I took it home, plugged it in and WHAM! there's this sizzling going on! I assume it's the referance strobe signal coming through to the output. I can get rid of it by putting my BOSS DS-1 (jap) befor it. Maybe something to do with the loading or filtering of the DS-1. I also tried using a Guyatone Harmonic Distortion (HD1) and it helped some but possibly not as helpful as the ds-1.

Don't put the Ds-1 AFTER the tuner or you'll just get a louder buzz. I also find that putting the tuner in my effects loop helps. Also i have not noticed any sound when it's not engaged and if you only use ouput2 (mutes when tuning) you wont even notice.

Oh and in case your wondering it STILL tunes pretty well if you have the distortion engaged!

Gear:
100w stereo Marshall 250DFX (and yes I'm on my 3rd fan going on 4th, *look up 250dfx reviews*)
ESP M-50 LTD Guitar (two humbucker pickups)

Effects:
Boss Ds-1
Boss Ce-3
Guyatone Hd-1
Fender PT100
Marshall DFX250 on board delay/chorus/flange and sustain

Reliability : 7
I'd use it at a gig without a backup... But i have a bit of a "don't care" attitude to gigs, if a pedal blows up I'll just unplug it and use the amp or the PA or just sing or whatever...
I've had no problems with reliability except possibly when the batteries are low it seems like it gets a bit indecisive.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I never even bothered. I'm sure the shop would give me my money back if I took it back.

Overall Rating : 6
It makes a good tuner, but it makes a kinda' average PEDAL tuner.
I still use it all the time, though i sometimes avoid leaving it in the effects line coz i'm a tone addict. But then again i do the same with my Boss Ce-3.

If you want a sweet pedal tuner that's not 3rd rate get a boss.

Extremely easy to use. One switched output and one non-switched output. Just pick and read the LEDs and that bit letter thats the note you've got.

Sound Quality : 1
Ah, this is why I have come here today. Today I plugged my Telecaster directly into my amp and it sounded great! So I started changing guitar cords and then i started removing effects from my chain (PT-100, Ibanez delay, Boss distortion) and finally the blame landed on the PT-100. The PT-100 is altering the sound quite a bit, even when its "off", just supposedly passing the signal through. With the PT-100 in the path between the guitar and amp, the sound is more compressed, and the high and low frequencies seem to be attenuated. It is not a pleasing alteration at all.

Reliability : 10
Seems to be built like a tank.

I'd say don't buy this unless you use so many effects that you can't tell a difference with the PT-100 in your chain.

The review below surprised me.

This tuner pedal is a tone robber, it took 10 seconds to confirm this. It will drop the sparkle out of your rig if you are set-up for a chimey top-end. If you A/B it on by-pass the difference is immediately noticeable with and with-out. It went right back to the store.

This is why I am writing this review. This is a "true bypass pedal", which means your tone is not effected by the unit. How do I know this? Because when there is no battery or wall wart powering the unit, the switch still works! I looked all over the internet, and the only reference to true bypass tuners was the Peterson, which is four times the price! The switch is quiet. The other comment I saw was some people had trouble with hum when using a wall wart. I have no trouble at all. I'm using a "one spot" power supply, which is also powering many other pedals, No hum at all! The tuner works great, responds quickly and smoothly, easy to read etc. Here's my setup just because they ask for it in this section. Strat w/vintage noiseless pu>fulltone full drive 2>Fender tuner>Boss comp.>traynor Yvc40wr input>effects send>Cry baby>EB vol>Boss trem>Digitech Mod Delay>Yamaha Magic stomp 1>Duncan pu booster>effects return>yvc40>speaker
