A cinch. I like it that you can change the way the display reads 1/2 steps. Like D# or it will show Eb if the button is pushed. Never use the footswitch for muting. I just push the mute button on the front.
The screensaver is cool too.

Sound Quality : 10
Does not affect tone.

Reliability : 9
HAs never quit on me. I have gigged with it extensively over the past year and a half and it's worked every time.
I beat the shit out of this tuner and it still works fine. It's even easy to read outside in the sunshine.
The metal collars on the 1/4" jacks keep vibrating loose. I've lost one of the black spacers already. You can't over tighten them so you might want to unscrew them when you get it and put a drop of glue in the threads when you get it. Just to keep the damn things from coming unscrewed.

A good value. Inexpensive and easy to use. From Pro to beginner.

Plug the guitar into the front or rear input. Plug the tuner's output 1(always active even w/o power) or output 2(can be disabled by mute button or foorswitch). Power it up. That's a synopsis of the one page instruction sheet.

Sound Quality : 10
It has no effect on the sound quality or volume, as desired.

Reliability : 10
Seems well put together from external appearances. Well finished. Should be reliable.

This unit is very quick to zero in on the frequency and presents a very stable view of the tuning correction required. The display is bright and easy to read. It is missing features of more expensive units, but, according to these reviews, it out-performs units costing more than twice as much and additional features would be of no value to me.

I bought this Fender rack tuner about two months ago and it works great. I got it from Musicians Friend for 100 dollars (a steal). It is very easy to see and read. The digital read out is large, the LED's for tuning are bright, and the fact that the Fender F-symbol lights up when you are in proper tune is just kind of cool. Seemingly High quality construction. And as for the manual, I have not needed it because this thing is too easy to use.

Sound Quality : 10
Sound quality with mine has not been an issue. Almost from the moment I got it, I have run a seperate line to my tuner. For the short time I did run it before my amp I did not notice any noise problems. There are multiple ways to input your instrument and two outputs. Output number two can be muted by switch or by footswitch. This is a great feature, because I can leave two guitars plugged in at all times.

Reliability : 10
I am going to score this a ten. Although I have had zero problems with this unit, I have only had it for two months. Even my wife was bearable for two months though, so... draw your own conclusions.

Customer Support : 10
Once again, I am going to give a 10. I have not had any customer support issues. But it is too early for this to be a good indicator.

I have strange and picky taste in equipment. My stuff can't just sound good and look like booty. Or vice-versa. It has to be pleasant to look at, function smoothly, AND sound good. This rack unit fits right in with my other equipment. High-quality, asthetically pleasing, very functional.

The RT1000 is incredibly easy to use. There's really not much to it...plug it in, hit a note, tune it up. The nice thing about this tuner is that it tunes the low B on my bass. A friend has a Korg rack tuner that, although it tunes the B, takes longer to register and jumps around a lot.

Sound Quality : 10
Again, not much to it. The only important sound quality of a tuner is that you can't hear a change in tone when it's on. I'm using this tuner with a SWR Workingman's head & cab and the tuner is crystal clear.

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank. The faceplate is a brushed anodized aluminum. I think most other rack tuners (Sabine, Korg) have plastic panels. Also, the jacks seem tough. It looks like they use the same type as Ampeg.

No experience dealing with Fender.

Overall this is a great tuner. The best thing about it was the price. I paid $129 from AMS. The Korg DTR1000 was $179. I know the Korg has a few more features, but all I really care about is how well it tunes. I'd totally buy another one if it was stolen. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't come with a footswitch. An on/off switch is cheap, though, so no big deal.
