Ease of Use

No, rather not. Pots are not detented, very hard to recall settings and difficult to match left and right channel. Potentiometers are very small and there are no marks on a faceplate. This is all very unfriendly.

Sound is warm and smooth. Warmth is audible unlike with some other gear that is called "warm" but you don't hear it at all or very little. Red 2 is perfect for cuts. Cutting produces that "modern" sound very easy. But from the other side boosting add a lot of colour which could be nice, unfotunately transparency is the weak point of this unit. For mastering, boosting is rather useless, but for tracking maybe not. Bass is nice but high shelf is too broad IMO. For me, it's one trick pony. I use it only for cutting. It's working very well for that, this is "cutting with character".

Units are often going uncalibrated. You have to consider that you would probably need to calibrate it manually or get a tech for doing this.

It's a very interesting eq. Actually there are a lot of used units on the market for really low prices. For $1300 it's a good start to the high-end world. From the other side buyer should consider all its weaknesses before purchasing.
