Ease of Use : 10
It is fairly easy. The internal trimmer is a bit fussy business as you need to unscrew 8 screws and turn the CC2 over to adjust the input volume at your liking but once you do this you 're done with it for ever. The manual is very nice, revealing and inspiring but a little bit of tweaking would easily come to results anyway. The Provibe section is the one that needs more attention because the aural possibilities it offers are very open to thorough search. And, yes, you have a great sound whatever you do, only different each time.

Sound Quality : 10
Oh I can have an instant Jimi Hendrix if I want to! ...but I don't. I'm after my own thing, you see. So what does CC2 do for adventurous guitarists like yours truly? Well it gives me silence when it's on but I'm not playing, and when I play it gives me a serious fuzz tone, warm, articulate and rich which can be very flexible either when I play with its knobs, or with my guitar's volume control. Whatever I do, the sound is there and it is as a fuzz should be but never was before the CC2. I instantly forgot the silly money I had to pay for a pedal. The CC2 also gives me a chance to experiment with the Octave section, so I can enrich my notes when I play small phrasing passages through a song, well much like that Hendrix did actually. And the Provibe, erm, colours the already huge sound wonderfully either like a chorus or a vibrato, or much rather a gentle but distinctive phaser would. Yes, it is in all a very inspiring pedal. It fully deserves the hype.

Reliability : No Opinion
To start with, I cannot have a backup these days. People buy used CC2s at outrageous prices and I have only one in my possession. But do I need a backup? No, I don't think so. It is very big, heavy, sturdy, its circuitry is of Foxrox reputation, works flawlessly and it seems it will, until the day they kill me to get it and sell it at $$$$$$ on ebay.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I live in Athens, Greece. I am a loyal Foxrox customer and thankfully I never had to deal with them a problem concerning my ZIM or my TZF or my CC2. I pray I will never need to, although their intentions seem good.

Overall Rating : 9
I play Fenders with noiseless pickups and a Gretch. I use vintage pedals and a Fender Twin Reverb silverface. I have a complicated playing style that it implies you hear two or three people playing instead of, well, just me. The CC2 is not the base for my thing but it compliments it tremendously. If I strictly played rock music it would be the only pedal to take with me on the road, along with my Schaller wah, plus a troop of bodyguards so I would cope with either armed robbery or, most likely, hordes of chicks eager to please me. Those two pedals should be enough to produce nearly any rock sound, extreme metal excluded.
My CC2 is one of the first made, has the default fuzzcard which suits me fine versus the gainier but shriller silicon card and I really smile when I play it or write about it, just like I do right now #-)

The top controls for most of the effects are easy to use. The ProVibe takes a little tweaking to dial in the Center control to where it sounds best to your tastes; probably because it's not overly obvious as to what it's doing.

The fuzz card has an internal trimmer for backing off the input which I consider to be a must for fuzz pedals as I like a little smoother, rounder sound. In order access this control, you need to open the housing which has 8 screws; not a terrible thing as I haven't felt the need to mess with it after finding the spot I like.

Sound Quality : 10
I mainly use this pedal with my Strat (Fender American Vintage 57 Reissue) but also with my Tele (Fender American Vintage 52 Reissue) but it works well with some of my other guitars with P90s and humbuckers. It shines best with single coil pickups though and particularly with a Strat. Amps I use are a Mesa Stiletto Deuce, Fender Blues Junior and a blackface Fender Champ. The CC2 works well with all of the amps but, like with any fuzz, you want to get your amp overdriving a bit for the best results.

Fuzz:
Mine has the stock Original Hybrid PNP card; it's one of the best sounding fuzzes I own - and I own five others. A little more bright and aggressive than a two germanium transistors but not as much as two silicon (comparing my Analogman Sun Face NKT275 and Foxrox Hot Silicon). It's great for traditional fuzz tones as well as just kicking the front end of your amp with just a little fuzz when backing off of the guitar volume.

Octave:
Not an effect that I use very often, but it does do the vintage sounding octave thing very well.

ProVibe:
Awsome effect that I have to be mindful not to overuse. It has that lopsided "chaw-chaw-chaw" sound like a good vibe should. I also have a Foxrox expression pedal plugged into the Speed jack which is very useful (you can use many other volume type pedals with the CC2 as well).

Reliability : 10
I don't know much about electronics, but the housing is very sturdy and the switches feel solid. I've only owned the CC2 for about two months, but have owned several other Foxrox effects for a couple of years and they've all worked flawlessly.

Customer Support : 9
Dave can be a little hard to get ahold of (apparently email gets caught in his spam filter) but, when he does reply, he's very friendly and helpful.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I play mainly classic rock and funky styles of music and the CC2 is a good match for me. I've been playinf for about 25 years and have a mess of other pedals (mostly Analogman and other Foxrox along with some Fulltone and others good quality effects).

I like having a couple of the effects that I use most often (fuzz and "swirly") in one package. Realistically, I don't need a ton of pedals but have a bunch of them because... well... I like pedals. A lot. And the CC2 is a real winner that I can throw into a case and not need much else in the way of effects.

There's not that many knobs so unless you're an idiot it's pretty easy!

Sound Quality : 10
fender american strat or gibson sg >crybaby>qtron plus>cc2 fuzz>cc2 octave>analogman ts808 tv mod>foxrox zim>cc2 provibe>marshall tsl 2000 head with a bbe sonic maximizer and foxrox paradox flanger in the effects loop. I rolled the trim pot inside the fuzz to get my wah sound back so that created a little noise but nothing a retro wouldn,t fix or a hum eliminator. Plus a like just a hint of fuzz not all out.

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank!!

Customer Support : 10
I've dealt with dave on several occaisions and he is extremely kind and helpful,(If you by multiple items you get free stuff!! That's good business!!)I wish he'd create some more effects so I can keep dealing with him!!

Overall Rating : 10
I play blues and some rock. Definetly couldn't live without it. The provibe sounds awesome and man if you get an expression pedal and get a ton of over drive and throw on the octave it is down right insane some of the sounds you can get. Dave fox has made playing guitar fun again!!!

Ease of Use : 7
If you know how to use these effects already then it's easy to use. It's Hendrix in a convenient box. The octave on my unit did not work right- it was intermittant thus the 7 rating.

Sound Quality : 5
I play a old Strat, a 335 and a tele through a 64 Deluxe Reverb and use a few high quality effects. I don't really know what to make of this thing. The octave didn't work right. It worked for a while and then it just quit. The fuzzfoot was OK -I got the default card- but for me it sounded to hard and harsh. It worked very poorly with other effects as well. I like to use a Keeley Javaboost in front of the drive section. With other drive and fuzz pedals I'm able to get that wonderful legatto-like sound and sustain -kind of like Eric Johnson- but with the Fuzzfoot and the Java it was like an ice-pick-in-the-ear kind of sound.
The Provibe in the chorus mode is nice. It has a wide sweep and depth and is user friendly. Here's the thing though; I have a Fulltone Deja'2, (the big one with the pedal on it) so I was able to do a direct comparison, and in the vibe mode the Fulltone outperforms the provibe. The Fulltone just has a pressence and shimmer that is not there in the Provibe. Sure, the Provibe does more but not as well. I'm not a big fan of the chorus sound but, as I said this is where the Provibe works best.

For me the sound just didn't add up to much.

Reliability : 3
I sent mine back to Dave. The octave didn't work.

He does great work in general- I have an Octron that performs beautifully.

Customer Support : 2
I bought my unit through Foxrox. I've found he always responds quickly to emails. Upon recieving and trying my cc2 and discovering it's problems I emailed him and asked him for a refund. He responded quickly and of course gave me a refund. I gave him my opinion of the pedal in a well worded and thoughtful manner thinking that most pedal makers would appreciate hearing feedback both positive and negative. He responded with a curt and somewhat rude response that in a nutshell said he'll take the opinion of all the artist endorsees and other people that are thrilled with the pedal over mine. It's not that I think he SHOULD take my opinion over all the others that bothers me, it's that his response was so inapropriate that it left me a bit perplexed. If it was your business would you insult someone who was thoughtful enough to take the time to critique your product?

Overall Rating : 3
I've been playing guitar for about 30 years. I have good ears and I appreciate well made and good sounding gear. I play many styles and I make my living doing it. The reason I wanted this pedal was because I'd heard great things about the fuzz and provibe. If I was able to try this pedal first someplace I would've. If you are in the market for these effects I think you can do much better with some good seperate units. Value wise The CC2 is well priced but again there is better out there for similar money IMO. The CC2 really doesn't save you much pedalboard space either, in fact I think it is an awkwardly sized unit to fit onto a pedalboard. As a stand alone unit going into a dimmed 100w Marshall this thing may be the shit...then again maybe it's the Marshall.

Verry easy to get a great sound out of the captaincoconut!
No programming just vintage-style analog sounds,FAT!
Got mine used ,no manual but you will not need one.
Bought it used with the NKT 275 Vintage germ. fuzz card. Then I got me the hybrid card on ebay, too.

Sound Quality : 10
I use my jmp 2203 marshall heads with a Marshall 1960TV,two custom build Magnus Krempel Stratocaster style Guitars,Budda wah and a crowther Audio Hot Cake.I use my marshall with gain full at 10 for a fat chrunch sound.
Then I boost it with the Fuzzfoot for a leadtone that still can clean up.I can get a sound like Trower and hendrix.
I realy like the Provibe because it sounds so great,I had the dunlop uni vibe wich was good but it altered my sound wehn it was bypassed.so I bought me a Fulltone cutomshop mini-djavibe.That thing sounds verry cheap.I was glad the day I sold it.
I love the Fuzzfoot for it's flexibility.Have two fuzzcards and I would like to get them all.
The Octave is good ,it is smoother than my Fulltone Octavia, wich can get real nasty, wich I like a lot.But it is a good effect and it works well.

Reliability : 10
I hope I can depend on it !It is verry well build and seems to last.I am the second owner and it is still in good condition.
I do not use a backup,I sold nearly all of my Fullclone stuff,I had the whole armada......

Now for me this is a sad thing to talk about.......
I did want to buy a new CC2,emailed to foxrox but never got an answer.
So I bought mine on ebay.com with the Vintage Germanium Fuzzcard installed.
I did want to order a Fuzzcard from Mr. Fox ,I emailed but never got response.
I emailed to Analogman and got a verryfast reply but he told me to get them from Mr. Fox........
Foxrox has a verry informative website ,thats great ,but there is nothing more to get.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I play in a coverband that plays Hendrix songs.
I play for 18 years now.
I own a lot of amps( ac30 ,fender twin silverf.,Marshall 2203,2204,JMP,Fender 64 Tremmolux,Park Rockhead......
Fender strats and custom made stratocasters.
I would by another one,I would like to buy it from Foxrox direkt because ebay is always a risk.
I love the sound and how it works for me.Yes I compared it after I bought it , to my Fulltone units.I still love my Fulltone 69 because my woman was with me wehn I got it.Semtimental,he?And I like the sound.
But all my other Fulltones had to go:Fulltone 70, Ultimate Octave,Dejavibe(bah!).
This unit is what a strat player wants to use!
Go and get it!
The website is verry helpful.I use a Roland EV-5 for speedpedal.I went in the musicshop and tried a lot of volumepedals. There wehre 3 EV-5 and the all did work different. So I got me the one wich did the job.
thanks
Dave Fox!
PS: I want Fuzzcards!!!!

The ProVibe is by far the most time consuming. But actually very straugh forward once you get the hang of it. The Fuzzfoot and the Octave took no time at all to dial in Hendrix/Cream/Pink Floyd. Overall this unit is the easiest I have ever seen simply because the sounds you are hoping for ARE there. You can tweek knobs forever if the pedal you have doesn't have what you are hoping for.

Sound Quality : 10
This is where I go off. I got this pedal to take up less space on my pedalboard. I sold an Analogman SunFace, a Sweetsound Mojo Vibe, and a Roger Mayer Vision Series Octavia to get this. Did my research and crossed my fingers. Trust me, no one is more of a tone-junkie than me and I have wasted unbelievable amounts of money (and had many quarrels with girlfriends and wives) in search of the Holy Grail of psychedelic Hendrix/Floyd/Cream tones from these who claim to nail it with their over-priced products. I can honestly say a very, very long nightmare has ended. This pedal is incredible. It's flexibility is amazing. Just being able to swap out fuzzcards alone is enough. (I settled for the Vintage one, not an easy choice, the Hybrid card is fantastic as well; a little more gain). The fuzz is the main reason I got this pedal. Best I have EVER heard. The Provibe can do anything from Trower to Hendrix to the very slow swirling on Dark Side of the Moon. (My Mojo Vibe could not retain it's strength on slower settings like this can, impressive). The Octave blows away it's inventor (Sorry Roger Mayer). It's not as harsh or bright as his, and hits Hendrix DEAD on. I have tried them all and this pedal IS all of them and much, much more. Plus, you can switch the order of the effects around. I find this order by far the best if you are looking for Hendrix: 1.Vibe, 2.Octave 3.Fuzz.

Reliability : 10
My god. This thing is military grade, armageddon-proof.

Check this out, recieved my CC2 in the mail, it had some weird buzzing and crackling noises. I emailed him, he Express mailed me another WITH a Vintage Germanium fuzzcard for my trouble. Beat that Daddy-O!!!

Overall Rating : 10
I play acid rock from the 60's and 70's, and NEED to nail those tones to get my mojo workin'. PLEASE, don't waste your money on anything else, save your money and your marriage and live happily ever after with this work of art from Foxrox. Amen.

So after two years of rocking the CC2, I finally feel like I'm ready to review it. Takes a little getting used to how to craft the right tone with this pedal. Everything haas to be set just right. Tthe octave side takes some getting used to how to play proper trechnique with it. The provibe side has many useful sounds.

Sound Quality : 9
I mainly use Strats and run my amps at almost slightly broken up loud clean. This pedal is amazing. The provibe has made me hardly use my other modulation-style effects. The octave combined with the provibe is now my favorite lead tone. The fuzz takes some getting used to and sounds unbelievable through the right amp. It can, however, sound extremely farty with certain guitars and/or amps.

Reliability : 9
Haven't had any issues with it and it seen some rough use.

Customer Support : 8
Dave is very helpful. sometime stakes him awhile to get to your emails but in general he is a great guy.

I will continue to use this pedal as long as I play guitar.

as easy as 1-2-3. He even includes an instruction manual to help those who may not have used these particular effects.

Sound Quality : 10
The octave is a tycobrahe style of divider which has more fullness than lets say a Roger Mayer octavia, which sounds like crap when you roll off your guitar volume. But with the cc2's octave, you will not be kept hungry for sound and tone. It does what my Fulltone Octafuzz does but BETTER (bye bye Fulltone) ! The vibe is more intense and deeper than most, as a matter of fact, to emulate my Deja Vibe i have to turn the controls way down(bye bye DejaVibe) I don't use fuzz but it's cool it sounds good.
