I use this pedal with my Moog Moogerfooger Envelope pedal, since I heard terrible things about the expression pedal Moog tries to sell with the Moogerfoogers. Works excellent. The taper control knob was a big selling point for this pedal, and it is definitely worth having!
In my setup, this expression pedal controls the cutoff frequency on the envelope. And depending on whether I want a huge sweep or a subtle wah-like effect, I can adjust the taper accordingly.
My current band has a spacey, atmospheric side to it, so we all are fairly reliant on great sounding effects. I remember before getting the expression pedal having to put the envelope pedal on top of my amp and having to tweak the cutoff with my right hand during songs where I needed a swell. Now with this expression pedal, I have my right hand back, cause playing bass is slightly easier with two hands...

Even though it's plastic, it looks very solid. Had it almost a year and no problems yet. I trust it.

From the emailing between me and Dave about purchasing the unit, he was helpful. Seems like a good guy. Haven't needed any type of support on the pedal. No reason to dock him points...

Plug and play. Ample instructions but really not necessary, simple stupid.

It doesn't effect the quality of the audio, it's a speed controller for a Univibe.

This is the hard part. It is Italian built originally, with Dave Fox adding a trimmer pot to allow for corrected use. The volume pot/controller pot/expression pot is small by USA standards and looks kinda cheesy. Like in a Squier gtr way. But then, it works very well without a hiccup. I need to put more hours on it to comment on this.
In truth, it controls a small voltage, not a signal, so it may last a very long time. It performs it's task very very well for now.
No, no backup, I'll take my chances and see what happens.

Dave rules. I asked him about the small pot and he replied that his website describes what the pedal is. This is true. He also said that his added labor, adding the trimmer pot and gluing the original pot in place, should increase the price of the pedal considerably. I agree, he spends time inside the pedal making it more bullet-proof. His last comment was that he decided to offer the pedal because so many people were asking him for help in this area. In the end, I am glad he offers the pedal.

I use it with a Bob Sweet Mojovibe pedal. It is really necessary with this type of pedal, IMO. Before I had the expression pedal I would kinda roll the big knob on the Mojovibe with the side of my foot for speed changes. After awhile you just find one spot and leave it there. This is a big big mistake in my book, especially after using the expression pedal like I do now. It completely changes the impact of the Mojovibe. It's really like having a whole new pedal, although in reality you are simply making use of what is there. Try it, this is the way a univibe was meant to be used.
Before I purchased the Foxrox pedal, tried the Ernie Ball volume pedal and a Yamaha expression pedal here. Do not waste your time. The pot value is all wrong in either of those pedals.
(Also, I had to change the output plug, a stock molded type, to a stereo Switchcraft right angle plug. For me, the straight plug was goofy because I don't have that much real estate on my pedalboard, YMMV.)
How the expression pedal survives on gigs and rehearsals remains to be seen. All I can say for now is that Dave Fox has truly nailed the sweep range and pot values. If/when it becomes necessary to replace it, I may just buy another or consider altering one of my EB volume pedals to Dave's specs. As far as I know, there is nobody else offering another pedal that works like this and is more heavy-duty. At any rate, for $61 dollars, it has been worth every penny to experience the Mojovibe as it was meant to be played: Thank you, Dave Fox!
