For everyone who can solder and read schematics the installation is very easy! Only 4 wires for Input/Output and Power +/-, thats it.
The Level-Trimpot on the PCB is also very useful and can boost your Wah if you want. I set mine so that there is no volume loss when the Wah is engaged. Installation was done in 10 Minutes!!

Perfect! I put it in my refurbished JEN CryBaby from the seventies (red Fasel inductor) and now the Wah sound is pure Jimi when the Wah is in front of my Fuzz Face! Brilliant!

I give it a 10 = Pristine sound quality

Reliability : 10
Inside the massive Wah enclosure is a really save place for it! :-)

Dave is always kind and gives advice! Nothing to complain.

This is a great little, cheap and high quality piece! I would put it in every Wah, except expensive Vintage units!

A bit fiddly to fit but youtube videos and instructions were good. It is a fit and forget item, once it's in.

US strat --->Fulltone clyde deluxe with Foxrox mod---->Analogman NKT275 sunface---->Fender Blues deluxe

Very pleased with it - wah now working very well with the fuzz. Also getting a better sweep with my Analogman Beanoboost.

Hard to give a rating here, as once it's installed you leave it, although it does have a trimmer to increase or decrease the output, should you want to although it's best left as it is. Dave does offer an installation service which I would recommend if you have little or no soldering skills and don't have a tech handy. The unit comes with instructions which are fine for tech savvy people but there are also more model specific details and photos on the foxrox website along with the Youtube videos, which came in very handy!

I installed this in a Vox V847 reissue which I had previously upgraded to true-bypass and a decent CTS Icar pot. Now, although modding a wah to true-bypass improves your bypass tone it can also reduce the output slightly when the wah is engaged. The Foxrox wah mod has helped to restore the output, which is actually a nice bonus as the main reason for getting it was to make my wah compatible with my fuzz pedals - the fuzzfoot in my CC2 and a Baja Tech Das fuzz GE. And does it help with the fuzz pedals? - you betcha! Whereas before there no bass response and/or howling oscillation, my Wah/Fuzz combination is now a BEAST! Full tonal response and a meaty growl that I've never had the pleasure of experiencing before, with NO oscillation. This mod performs exactly as described. To my ears there is also a definite improvement when used with OD pedals too - I can only describe it as having more growl and definition.

Reliability : No Opinion
Can't imagine anything gong wrong with it. As far I can tell it's not a complex circuit (which means less that could go wrong) and of course Foxrox products are renown for their quality and reliability. It's early days yet so I can't really justify a rating.

Dave has always offered excellent support. Having the wah mod sent all the way to New Zealand, it took a couple of weeks to get here. I emailed Dave to see when it was shipped (as I don't have too much faith in the postal service) and he emailed me back within half an hour! His reputation for providing excellent service is well founded.

It's amazing what such a simple little piece of equipment can do! I don't think it matters what style you play - if you use a wah and have it modded to true-bypass and/or use it with fuzz, or in fact any OD/distortion you owe it yourself to get this. The difference is incredible. When I first tried it I couldn't stop smiling. With the mods I've now performed on my humble off-the-shelf Vox V847, I've now got as good a wah as I could wish for. Get one and thank me later.

Couldn't be easier. Doesn't add any controls to the wah (although it does have a trimpot so you can adjust the level if you need to).
Just stomp on your wah and play.

Great sound. I had Dave Fox install his mod to my Teese RMC1 (at Geoffrey Teese's suggestion).
To my ear, it doesn't change the sound of the wah, but allows it to interface much better with my fuzzes.
It even works well with my Fuzz Factory. Prior to having the wah mod installed, my Fuzz Factory just made a hideous squeal (as opposed to a good squeal) with the wah in front. Now i get great fuzzy wah sounds!

Reliability : 10
Seems totally reliable. I've had mine a while and had no trouble at all with it.

Dave is great to deal with!
Always answered my questions quickly and politely and turnaround time on the wah mod was very quick.

Overall Rating : 10
If you want to use your wah in front of a finicky germanium fuzz, you need this mod. Doesn't change the sound of the wah, just allows it to do it's wah thing with whatever fuzz/distortion device you put after it.

It's a buffer for my wah wah pedal. I have good soldering skills, and it was very simple to install. Instructions were good and on the Forxox web sit there is a photo tutorial wich made it a no brainer. www.foxroxelectronics.com

I own a Teese RMC1. I love that pedal, but like all wah pedals it doesn't sound right in front of my '68 Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face. The wah mod from Foxrox did exactly what it's advertised to to. It made it so the wah pedal still has full range with the Fuzz Face on. It also seems to have widened the range of the wah a little, even with the Fuzz Face off, which I really like.

Reliability : 10
There's not much to it. It's a little red heat-shrink FET preamp thingy with four wires coming out. I supose it will last as long as the RMC-1.

Dealt with Dave Fox via email. Nice guy, answered questions and offered help if I needed anything else.

I play blues and classic rock. My only effects are wah and fuzz, into a Marshall JCM 800 half stack. Always loved the sound I got, but the wah > Fuzz combination always bugged me. Just couldn't get a good sound with both on at the same time. Read a post from Geoffry Teese in one of the forums about this modification. I figured that he would know. Got the mod, now my rig sounds even better and I can get intense wah sounds with my Fuzz Face on. THe $45 price is very modest.
