This is a very easy pedal to use-3 knobs that all do what they're supposed to. Manual is brief but ample enough to get started(having a manual for a crazy pedal like this is like having the manual for a clump of clay to make a sculpture) Really unique Y IN feature allows you to modulate the original IN signal with a second signal-its not just two signals at once, they actually modulate each other...Also, this is one of the coolest looking pedals ever-white w/blue trim and a bright, ice blue light when in use.

Have used this with a couple different heads and humbucker guitars...sounds amazing w/everything. If you want a pedal no one else has that will let you sound like no one else, this is the one. Everything from sweet, luscious vintage tremelo to interval harmonies to robot transmissions. The pedal is True Bypass which means it sounds sweet and won't interfere at all with your signal when its off which i can say is true, it doesn't. The Y IN is what seperates this from other ring mods altogether(see above)and will have you turning knobs and finding new sources of input for hours(keyboards, drums, Cd's, your neighbors arguing...) Another awesome feature is the Wave Selector switch which allows you to play with SQUARE, TRIANGLE, or SMOOTH wave frequencies which really allows you to get a LOT of different sounds from it. I tried other ring mods before this and if you want the run-of-the-mill pedal go get an EH Frequency Analyzer(not good)or a Moog(somewhat better but too big for pedalboards or playing live). But if you want the best-pick one of these up - you wont be dissapointed.

Have had it for quite a few months now...this thing is built like a brick! Heavy grade Aliminum casing and military grade electronics are what sets Frantone apart from the rest...i think i could drop this off 10 stories and it would be fine, honestly. Never had any problems nor do i expect to. Plus it has a lifetime guaruntee

Emailed them once with a question and was promptly emailed back and telephoned! Extremely helpful and even sent me a free set of newer knobs for my model! I am more than happy to support a company who cares so much about their customers.

I have been playing 8 years and own and have owned many, many pedals and this one is truly an original, not to mention a keeper. If stolen i would shell out the big bucks and buy another one(hopefully find one used though i could't before). It's been a huge part in finally finding an original sound and style and i think if you are into music that is left of center at all, you should do yourself a favor and pick one up.

hmm, well, it's easy as cake really, plug in...plug out...turn knobs, listen and LEARN. I figure if you buy an effect like this you kind of already get it. 3 different shapes of carrier waves which are stenciled on so you know exactly what you're getting...just choose one and listen. Mix knob is a blend of clean signal and effect, so you go from totally clean unaltered tone of the instrument to only the carrier wave being heard (which is just amazing) and all points and blends in between. Oh yeah, this is a ring modulator...I won't explain what that is (because i would be talking out of my ass). The next knob is the select which does just that...selects between 3 different shapes of modulation from square to triangle (think of the stripe on charlie brown's shirt) and smooth. Now here is where it gets cool...you have 2 more choices to select from and they are MIC and LINE and those 2 choices fall into the Y SELECT feature of this pedal. Man, I could just spend days writing about this but here goes...You have 2 inputs, MAIN and Y. Use the pedal like any normal pedal through the MAIN in, easy enough. OR, plug an additional sound source into Y in, choose MIC if the source in an actual mic or other instrument and choose LINE if it's a recorded audio or sampler or beat box or...or...or. Anyway, one modulates the other, the only way I can describe it is like one sound source acts as an amp or sounding board for the other and modulates the tone according to how the deep the mix knob is set...wow that makes no sense. It's just one of those things i'm not smart enough to articulate but know this...the possibilities are endless. Amost forgot the 3rd knob, TUNE. This controls the speed and range of the carrier wave. You can get slowish tremelos, tune the pitch to a note, or go to where you are frightning the cats.

Well, for once I can say I can get a really chimey tone through my amp, but i'm not talking Vox and Ric chimey, I'm talkin' actual chimes. This pedal sounds like nothing else. It is dead quiet and true bypass. You want great psychadelic tremelos, here they are. You want traditional ring mod sounds, here they sort of are. You want something brand new? a breath of fresh air perhaps? This is it. Sorry if i'm being vague

I will depend on it. I will gig without backup. These pedals are built like none other. Teflon wiring, noiseless switch, switchcraft gold plated jacks (I think). Powder coat finish. There is solid and then there is Frantone. I realize i'm gushing but it's fun to gush when it's fact.

I asked them a question to clarify the Y in and they wrote back almost immediately. Explained it, told me what she uses it for...very friendly. I just can't imagine this thing breaking but would have no worries if it did as far as dealing with them.
p.s Bought it at Edtronics in Oregon Wisconsin...a wonderful shop. If you're anywhere near WI and your sick of the usual jarheads at the mega music marts, go to Ed's.

I play in my local church. If lost or stolen i would set the church on fire and feel very forsaken.
