This pedal is very easy to use. Three knobs and two switches. One input and output and a power jack. The oversized knob is great for making adjustments to the speed of the effect on the fly. The LED pulses to the speed so you know where you're at before engaging the effect.

The custom shop Deja-vibe sounds so good. It's a great unit. I like running it in the vintage/vibrato combination and grabbing my chorus from my Analogman clone chorus. This combo is super. The DV on it's own does a world of great sounds. It doesn't have any "bad" areas in the sound department. I tend to run slower speeds and subtle movement. The more extreme sounds would probaly tire your ears quicker but it all sounds really good. I love the chorus setting on the pedal as well. Using dirty tones, it's cool keeping the volume on this pedal down around 10 o'clock. By doing this, the amp cleans up a bit for the Deja tones. I prefer the amp cleaning up to make room for more of the deja's movements. The modern setting sounds great as well. Really strong and a bit louder than the vintage setting.

Fulltone makes a great pedal. I recently had 8 Fulltones and decided to let go of 4 and keep the most essential ones. This was one of those that I kept. Fulltone pedals could easily be some of the best pedals on the market in terms of construction and attention to detail. I would gig a million times without a backup of this thing.

I've always had my emails responded to in a timely manner. Mike Fuller is right to the point.

I originally went with the custom shop Deja-Vibe because of it's compact size. I've been knocked out by it's sound and construction. I'm a very pleased customer. After owning 8 Fulltones and narrowing them down to 4 essentials, I can say I've always been impressed with the Fulltone product.

Straight forward operation, pretty much the same as any vibe unit. I greatly appreciate the smaller size.

I'm using this with a Warmoth Tele into a Rivera Knucklehead 55. My pedalboard and signal chain go Tele -> Budda Wah -> Fulltone Fatboost -> Fulltone Fulldrive 2 -> Fulltone Distortion Pro -> Fulltone ChoralFlange -> CS mini-Deja Vibe -> Knucklehead.

According to Fulltones website, the only real change was in the power supply circuitry. Personally, I find the CS to be MUCH more transparent EQ wise than the DV or DV2. Both of the originals seemed to roll off quite a bit of high end, making the tone fairly dark. I know that was one of the traits it was trying to duplicate, but I didn't like that. The CS is much better. Still a nice thick vibe effect. Ample adjustment in all controls.

I gave the original a 6.

Reliability : 9
As you can see, I own several Fulltone products. Never really had a problem with any of them. Tone, true bypass and reliability are what I look for, and Fulltone delivers on all of them.

Customer Support : 9
Prior to my purchase, I sent an email enquiry to Fulltone that did not get a response. I must admit, however, that in the past, I have gotten timely responses.

Mike's reputation might not make him a contender for Miss Congeniality, but he does support his products well.

The only other vibe that I have tried that is in the same class is the Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe. I tried many, many brands, but most didn't sound good, and the Dunlop was VERY unreliable.

I ordered my pedal in May, got it a few weeks later freshly made...dated 5/03 & #337. As soon as I plugged it in amazing Univibe sounds were coming out of it. The knobs are easy to understand, although there is no 'manual' that comes with it. Mike Fuller includes a piece of paper quickly reviewing the pedals different function, but you're on your own after that.

Sound Quality : 10
My setup changes constantly, but most often I use this with a 50's reissue Strat --> 535Q Wah --> Boss Blues Driver --> Fulltone '70 pedal --> Boss RV-5 Reverb --> Akai Headrush (tape echo/delay/rec,overdub) --> Kustom 200 head and cab. The Deja'Vibe is extremely quiet all the time, with great sounds on all settings...whether you're looking for the Machine Gun sound, Pink Floyd, SRV, this can do it all. When used with heavy distortion and the Intensity & Speed knobs up everything gets a little too washy sounding for me, sounds like Trower's Bridge of Sighs on acid. To some people that it may sound great, who am I to say?

Reliability : 9
The CS Deja Vibe is so small compared to other Vibes, including the other Fulltone versions. Fulltone includes a power adapter, which is a total bonus. I would take it gigging without thinking twice about a backup. The housing is of tank-like quality, like all Fulltone products. I opened it up the other day to find steller construction.

Customer Support : No Opinion
The CS-DV was the first Fulltone product that I ordered directly from them. I have an Ultimate Octave and a '70 pedal as well, but never had contact through FUlltone about them. I will, however, try to send the '70 pedal back soon, so I'll see how Mike addresses that situation since I didn't buy it from him.

Overall Rating : 10
I play various styles of music, been playing for about 7 years. The CS-DV is great, of course, to enhance your vintage sounds of people like Hendrix via Band of Gypsies...but also is good for playing in the style of McCready from Pearl Jam and other newer bands. I've got so used to using it that I would need another one if this one was lost. Great investment overall, despite being a lot of money. Fulltone is a serious company, I would suggest buying a Vibe pedal from anyone else than them. It's the same circuitry as the original, and unless you want to spend $1,000 one of those only to find it breaking once a week I suggest the Custom Shop Deja'Vibe. If anyone wants some questions answered, please email me.

The manual is fine. made in May '03. Very easy to get good sounds.

Sound Quality : 10
I waited until I gigged with it before this review. (living room tones don't always equate with the sound of a big wooden barroom) I am not a vibe person by history but just took a shot at it. Every time I've ever tried a $69 pedal it sounds like tin and I sell it. I expect to pay big bucks for good stuff. Like any effect I've found about 6 or 7 tunes to use it during a night. (if you leave it on too much listeners get glazed eyes and start to vomit) I haven't added a new effect to my signal chain in years and half expected to not like it. I mostly use only gain effects . The only effect I've stuck with previously is a tape delay. Like usual for me I have found one way to set this and I leave it alone - volume at 4:00, intensity at 11:00 (low) and speed very slow (9:00) chorus, vintage setting. I like the subtle, slow swirl deal. It is LARGE sounding and warm. It's very quiet. It doesn't squish my tone down. Maybe it's because of the voltage doubling thing - it runs at 20 volts even though it's a 9 volt adapter. setup: old tele>>>Carl Martin compressor>>>>dejavibe>>>>>budda phatman>>>>>old TS10>>>>Rexer tape echo>>>>Gibson GA15RV (goldtone) It adds a thick moving feel - very subtle and sounds great with the right tune selection. I don't want the Trower sound - faster with distortion into a bunch of Marshall stacks. (my hair is better than his anyway) I use it clean (phatman and TS10 off) sometimes combined with the echo. I'm keeping it in my chain-that's a big deal for me.

Reliability : No Opinion
Seems solid - don't know yet.

No response to phone or e-mail when attempting to purchase. I don't care. I don't want to go to bed with the manufacturer. I don't care if he's Genghis Khan. I just like this box.

Overall Rating : 10
I've played 40 years and am a crazed tone freak. I own lot's of stuff. Like I said, most of it doesn't get used. I like to play party music - pop-rock, RnB, rockabilly, some blues. -Mostly like to play for parties with dancing. I guess you could say my music style is NOT vibe oriented but I've found a place for this and it's cool. You can't beat cool.

The manual does a good job of explaining the controls. For someone just getting into UniVibes a few suggested settings might be helpful, but if you know what a vibe does then you may already have a sound in your head and this pedal will let you find it quickly.

The controls are quite interactive so you may have to tweak a bit.

Sound Quality : 10
I use Music Man guitars and Rivera amps. The CS-DV is extremely quiet!!! (much more so than either my Microvibe or Black Cat Vibe). The range of intensity is nice. Unlike many vibes with limited range the Fulltone lets you go over the top and get more extreme sounds.

The sound quality is wonderful. Unlike my other vibes, the CS-DV has a natural, clear, and round low end without being boomy. The treble is airy without being shrill or thin.

I can get Hendrix and Trower vibe sounds as well as those of Steve Lukather (who uses the Custom Audio/Black CAt vibe). By the way, for nice vibe use, you should check out the "Candyman" CD by Steve Lukather's fun band, Los Lobotomys. The song "Never Walk Alone" has very nice univibe sounds.

Reliability : 10
I have one other Fulltone pedal and have had no problems with it. Neither of these pedals have seen regular gigging use yet as they will be part of a new pedalboard I am putting together. Based on the build quality however (and Fulltone's reputation) I don't expect any problems.

By the way, this pedal just exudes quality and reliability. It looks like it will take abuse. The polished aluminum chassis looks great - it looks all business, but at the same time has a "science project" look to it that I really like. All knobs and switches have a smooth and solid feel to them.

Customer Support : 10
Fulltone have always given me excellent customer service. A couple of days ago I e-mailed them with a question and received an answer within a few minutes.

Overall Rating : 10
Having tried a Deja-Vibe a few years ago, I really liked it and wanted to get one but had always wished that it was smaller since I don't want to have an enormous pedal board. When Mike came out with the new "mini" version I had to have it.

As I mentioned above, I also own a Voodoo Labs Micro Vibe and Black Cat Vibe. Plus, I used to have an original UniVibe that was just too hard to keep in working order so I sold it (I do regret it now, but I needed a dependable vibe). The Fulltone is great because it gives me the sound of that old vibe, without any of the worries, hassle and expense of the original.

I have been playing for about 30 years now and play a variety of music on a pro level. I play out about 10 times per month. Fulltone products are great for me, because I know they will hold up and, more importantly, I know that they will deliver excellent sound quality.

Damn Easy.... A switch between "chorus" and "vibrato" a speed knob and a n On/Off switch... couldnt be easier... and with the LED pulsating at the speed at which the vibe is going you can SEE the vibe along with hearing it....

Sound Quality : 9
Nothing can beat this... It has the best vibe sound I've ever heard. EXTREMELY quiet. Does everything I expected and more.

Reliability : 10
Aluminum housing.... 3PDT Switch. This thing is built to last for life. Which is approximatley how long I plan on keeping it.

Customer Support : 9
Never really dealt with the man... I hear he is quite short with people. But he stands behind his work and repairs things no questions asked. I didn't buy this pedal for the man's personality. I bought it to rock.

Overall Rating : 10
I play classic rock, blues, and seattle sound music ie. AIC, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, ets. This nails McCreadys vibe sound (Even though he used a Dunop Uni-Vibe up until recentley) The Hendrix/Trower sound is right on... You really can't do better. The only vibe in comparison is the Sweet Sound Mojo Vibe.... Its a bit pricey... But it's built with the BEST parts availible.

THe DARK PRINCE STRIKES AGAIN! This is a smaller version of the Deja Vibe which is one of if not the best Uni-Vibe clone on the market. The unit is very easy to use. It has all the controls of the full size unit such as Volume, Intensity, Chorus/Vibrato switch, Vintage/Modern switch, Speed Control Knob, and Speed Indicator LED. The manual is helpful if you haven't used a Vibe type unit before but if you have you don't really need it. With the Speed LED it's easy to set the speed with your foot...no speed pedal needed.

Sound Quality : 10
This Vibe is used with a number of different Strats and a PRS Custom 22. The signal path of the guitars goes like this: Samson Wireless..Clyde Wha..CS-Deja Vibe..Distortion Pro..Fulldrive II C-SY.. Ultamite Octave...H2O Chorus/Echo..Little Laneli Spring Reverb powered by a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power into a Soldano Dectone Head in to a Marshall 4X12 Cab with Vintage 30's in it. Sometimes I use a old Music Man HD-130 4X10 Combo or a Music Man RD-100 1X12 combo or even a reissue Blackface Twin which is kept in the truck and owned by the bands production company. The vibe unit sounds great with all of these amps. To be honest great isn't good enough a adjective for it. I think is sounds just AWSOME! I have a White Deja Vibe from 98'( my review of it should still be posted under Deja Vibe if you want to read it)which I dearly loved and was worried that this new one wouldn't be "Up To Scratch" as the Brit's like to say. Well I must say I was pleased beyond words once I got it pluged in. This one may sound better then my white one which some people seem to think are the best ones Mike has every built. The unit is dead quiet when used. The Chorus and Vibrato is deep and rich. It also seems to have a wider speed range then my white one. About the only setting that I can't find a use for is the Vibrato with the Intensity turned up and the speed slow. You get this out of tune wobble that I have never found a use for. Setting the speed of the unit with the tempo of the tune your playing is easy with the speed knob and the LED. I owned a real Uni-Vibe back in the 70's and this unit may surpass my real one in range, depth, noisless operation, size, and the fact that it runs on 9 volts so you can power it with a Voodoo Lab Power Pedal or some such unit.

If you know about Vibes then you know this is a sound made famous by the Great Great Jimi Hendrix on his later live performances and studio work, Robin Trower, David Gilmore, Stevie Ray Vaughan and others whose names I can't remember at the moment. Jimi's Woodstock and Band of Gyspies recording or some of the best examples of this sound in a live context. Trower's Bridge of Sighs is a text book on using a Vibe in a studio. I had the honor of opening for Mr. Trower back in 97' and noticed everything on his pedal board said Fulltone on it except his Vox wah which was modded by Fulltone. Sort of makes you go "Hummm" don't it. The Vibe sound is all over Darkside of the Moon and other recording by Pink Floyd. Lot's of people think this is the "Coldshot" sound used by SRV and it does a very good job of it but I think "Coldshot" was recorded using a Fender Vibratone Rotary Speaker cab which are very rare. I own one and it never goes to gigs just to studios when I'm asked to use it. Hummmmm...Pristine is not a word I would use to discribe a Vibe unit at least not my old one form the 70's..Funky, Chewy, Goooooy, Trippy...yeah it's all that and a bag of chips. Speaking of chips if you want pristine go buy some digitial computer chip piece of crap. It'll be PRISTINE but that's not what Uni-Vibes sound like. But it still gets a 10...Pristine ..bah hummbug.

Reliability : 10
Use with out a back up for the last 3 months. I have another Deja-Vibe but I don't bring it to the gigs with me. It's back in it's box, sitting on a shelf with other unused effects. Fulltone effects are very well built right here in the good ol'USA. I have never had a problem with any Fullltone pedal except a switch that got broken on my White Deja VIbe which was caused buy not having a solid case for my pedal board (SKB in cavas bag) Since then I have built my own pedal board and it is stored in a very strong and padded Pelican case.
All my Fulltones are dependable and I never worry about them failing on a gig and if one or all of them did I would figure out a way to live with out them for the rest of the gig. Always more then one way to skin a cat.

Customer Support : 10
Mike is the best. Anything I need to know or if I need a switch or knob I get them "No Problem Mon!" I read all these horror stories on here and think " They can't be talking about the same guy I deal with" but I guess they are. Mike is short and to the point but he is also fast and dependable to his customers. This whole Dark Prince of Pedal Effects is sort of funny to me and I think to him also. I don't want to marry the guy I just want to play with his Fuzz Box.

Overall Rating : 10
I play Blues, Funk, Classic R&B, Classic Rock, and Jazz Fusion from the 70's when it was cool. This is the best Vibe I ever had including my orginal fom the 70's. I've been playing 30 years in the Honkey Tonks of South Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. As long as the joint is jumpin' I have done my job. I can shut up and back up a singer or set the stage on fire with as many wasted notes as the next guy. Don't matter much to me as long and the girls are dancing. Compared to a real Uni Vibe and some ot the other units on the market I think Mike's Pedals are resonably priced and surpass many higher priced products. Go buy Pete Cornish's Fuzz Box at $600+ if you don't beleive me. Some where out West I can hear the Dark Prince laughing...Brrraaaaaawwwwhhhhhah! Another Killer Product!

This is the sweetest vibe I have ever used , I also own a vintage unvibe that is great and I have a early Fulltone white dv-1 that is great, I go for the Trower / Jimi Tones and have always used my early dv1 for many years Because I saw Trower using it several times and even last year saw him using his newer Fulltone Gold version , I always wanted the gold one too , but went for the new custom shop mini on Mike Fuller's word that it was the Best he has ever made , well let me just say YES , this is awesome , HUGE ,pulsing ,watery vibe That is dead quite ,and now so small, WOW , all this tone in this tiny package .
