Easy. The manual provides settings which are useful as starting points for experimentation.

Superb sound quality. This pedal can be used as a clean boost or as an overdrive pedal. I use it for a boost in volume when I find myself buried in the mix and for solos. Since I'm boosting a distortion or fuzz sound, the bass and treble controls are essential. Without attenuating the bass all the way and the treble about half way, the boost muddies up my sound considerably. Having those EQ controls (which are very responsive and effect output) allows the boost to be quite transparent, even when booting a distorted signal. This is something that the first Fat Boost couldn't do. I owned the first one and sold it to buy this one. The First one had high end roll off but no bass control. When boosting a clean signal it sounded fantastic, but fell short on boosting a distorted signal (it was always too muddy).
When I say the boost is transparent, I mean transparent enough. It does add some more gain and makes the sound more robust in addition to louder. But the (slight) sound coloration is quite pleasing. It does sound "Fat". I think it sounds so freaking awesome, that I'm sometimes tempted to just leave it on and not use it as a boost, but as an "always on" tone enhancer. That defeats the purpose of having a boost though. I suppose I could buy another one when I'm feeling rich.
I considered getting a Keely Java Boost, but it's twice the price of the Fulltone.

Apart from the temptation to leave it on all the time and then not have a boost available, I love everything about this pedal.
Considering that most of the other boutique boosters are twice the price, this is an awesome value at $134.

A very easy pedal to use. Knobs are clearly labeled and do what they say. Manual is nice, has a few sample settings which I recommend using.

It's a great pedal! It's a clean boost, but not entirely transparent. But that's not bad! It's a FAT BOOST, literally! It sounds great, really and truly does fatten up your tone with the drive knob (doesn't really get overdrivey until about 2 o'clock). The fat boost 2 has 2 passive control knobs for the treble and bass, and they are a good addition. If you turn up the drive knob, it gets really noisy, so that knocks it down a point. Works very well with my set up.

It's fulltone. Better than boss in terms of reliability in my opinion. Heavy duty footswitch, all metal casing, it's great.

It's great! Get it! I use it for crescendos, not solos, and it works very well for both. Versatile and very controllable boost. It's more of a boost than a light OD though, but it does that too.
