If you can read, you can easily figure this thing out and if you can't, well... it's 100% fool-proof. Everything is laid out very well. There is no exact tempo control per se (like most pedals), but there is a flashing light that makes it easy to dial in exactly what you're looking for. The Uni Vibe doesn't share this feature, nor do most analog pedals on the market.

Absolutely a 10! Forget all this talk about Robin Trower; I have played guitar for 16 years and I couldn't tell you one song of his. Let's talk about something everyone can relate to, provided you've listened to the radio in the last 30 years. If you want the tone you hear on Pink Floyd's "Breathe", "Us and Them", "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", this is the pedal for you. I run this pedal right before my delay unit (last in my chain) and after my noise gate. Being that I place it post gate, there is no additional noise and when it's off, well there is a true by-pass, so it is 100% clear!!!

100% solid! I have not had a problem at all. Some people complain that this pedal is a little too pricey, but I can assure you that Mike builds all these pedals to last. They cost so much because they have a lot of over-kill i.e. stronger than it really needs to be. His wah pedal, for instance, has an expected use rate of 150,000, while the industry standard is around 15,000.

Let's face it, if you want David Gilmour's (or whoever's) exact tone, this pedal will only be a big step in the right direction. Some people say about the Dunlop Uni Vibe, "Well true by-pass is not really special, because Hendrix didn't have it." Ja, that is true, but don't you think if he had the chance to get the same tone, with NO noise when off, or sucking the "feeling" out of his tone, he would choose that way to go? Few people take the time to research before they buy, so if this pedal sounds right for you in these reviews, it probably is. Also, few people research brand names. MXR, Crybaby, Uni Vibe no longer exist! You may see the name, but that's all you see. The Dunlop Uni Vibe IS NOT THE ORIGINAL! Dunlop owns the name, end of story. If you want the original tone, with an added true by-pass, this is the pedal for you.
I play an all analog vintage setup. I have some recently made Dunlop MXR pedals (DynaComp, Smart Gate, Distortion +, Phase 100) and they sound great, but the Uni Vibe is really worthless. The Deja Vibe has the tone. I play a '69 Strat through two Fender '65 Twin Reverbs (one left, one right), I have the stereo version of the Deja Vibe (if you're going to spend this much, opt for the stereo unit, it can also be mono if you're into that sort of thing for some odd reason). Realize that your favorite artists use high grade studio equipment to polish their sound; you will never get the sound you hear on the album exactly unless you go to Abbey Road yourself and have Alan Parsons engineer your song.
In saying that, I'll say this, I played my Strat through the DynaComp into a B.K. Butler Tube Driver into a MXR Smart Gate to the Deja Vibe and lastly through a Roland Space Echo before my Fenders, when I hit the first four notes of "Shine On" my friends (who are also experienced musicians) said, "Man, you've nailed it"; they actually fought each other to see who could play "Breathe" through it first! THIS IS THE TONE. Go to Fulltone's website, you'll see where the differences are. I want to say this finally, I am a vintage freak, I really wanted to like the Uni Vibe, because of the legend, but if you research it, you'll find that the name is all of legend that remains today. Sure, you could by an over-priced vintage Uni Vibe on eBay, but you'll just get an expensive unit with 'scratchy' pots and for that price you could get two of these.

Pretty easy-does chorus or vibrato, rate and depth knobs, switch to reduce high end responce (bright/dark).

I've owned a couple of early ones and a couple of later ones, and I've gone back to the original white (#035). Good CE1 style chorus with more rate change, excellent Vibrato/Univibe, stereo output is icing on the cake-gives a swirly 3d character to the tone. Some hiss. I'd prefer more depth to the stereo volume change (pan) and less pitch shifting.

Mike is not always tactful, but he's a great engineer. Builds well and supports his stuff. He likes his newer stuff better, and doesn't understand those of us who prefer an older model. I really like his pedals and have owned more of them than any boutique manufacturer, and anybody else except Ibanez.

Ease of use... Well, if you can scrath you ass and talk at the same time you have the amplitude it takes to operate this pedal.
Note: I'm going to be comparing this pedal to the Roger Mayer VooDoo Vibe that I sold to get to get the "white" Deja Vibe.

(My rig)
Orig. Vox Clyde Wah - "Script" MXR Phase 90 - "White" Deja Vibe - Orig. TS-9 - "Orange" FullDrive 2 - "NTK" Arbiter Engalnd Fuzzface - R.I. ADA Flanger - Whirlwind A/B - (A)'65 Super Rev/ (B)'65 Deluxe Rev.
The Deja Vibe is a really nice pedal. Pretty dang quite concidering the circuit. The RM VooDoo Vibe was nice because you have so many tailoring possibilities but yet, it always felt unusable in my rig. I never quite found a sound that I could use in my music. The Deja Vibe on the other hand, has a more musical tone & not quite as steril as RM's VooDoo. That Fulltone Transparency with a lush swooshing underwater sound felt a lot more natural to me. I?m definitely pleased! The only drawback is that I have to run it prior to FD2, TS9 & fuzz because the high-end roll off I get. It layers a high-end brittle(fuzz) on top of the sound & seems too separated from the rest of the guitar tone. Running it before the TS9 gives it a nice bite and it is still pretty watery, prior to FD2 the sound isn?t quite as expanded or watery but then again, it gives it a different sound. A lot of wobble without all the swoosh. If it didn't get the high roll off like I do when positioned after my FD2 & TS-9 I would give it a 10.

I'm an old school type guy who doesn't play covers, just originals. Bluesy Rock/space & time type thing. I'm more pleased than I thought I would be with this pedal. It was a good match up for me. I definately find it more useable then RM's VooDoo Vibe. Don't get me wrong, The VooDoo was nice but wasn't quite the same match for my sound.

3 Knobs: Volume, Intensity, and Speed. 2 Switchs: Bright/Dark and Vibrato/Chorus, and a foot switch of course. Plus it has a really cool pulsating led light, so you can see how fast the pulse is. It took me less than 5 minutes to find a couple great sounds, most notably something similar to the effect used on 'Lightning Crashes' by Live. I bought it used so I dont have a manual to comment on, but if you are familiar with pedals, this should not be a problem.

I play an american delux strat through a wah, the vibe, fulltone fulldrive II tr100, way huge agua puss analog delay, fulltone fatboost into a '65 fender twin reissue. I power all my effects with a voodoo labs pedal power, except for the vibe which I use the fulltone adapter. Well this is my first vibe, and I was not sure what to expect, but I'll tell you what I discovered. I set the volume to 12:00, the intensity to max, and the speed to about 9:00. I have set on chorus mode and bright mode. It gives me a very subtle underwater pulsing swooshy sound. The effect wasnt as strong as I had hoped. It does not affect your tone while off, and it seems to add to it while on. As someone else has commented, it does seem to embelish your tone, not overwhelm it. It has a very warm and organic sound, very fat. I have played with its position in my signal chain, though either way I am having a hard time finding a good sound with my overdrive. If i place it before my overdrive the effect is barely noticable, if placed after it gets a flangey buzz to it. If i pull the comp cut feature on my fulldrive with it placed after the vibe I can get some amazing sounds. It sounds best with the speed set to the tempo of the song. The vib mode is even a little weaker than the chorus mode, but I didnt buy it for a vibrato sound so I am not concerned. Overall it has pristine sound qualtiy, I just wish the effect was a little stronger.

I have been playing for about 9 years. I play rock, blues, and alternative mostly. If it were lost or stolen I would try to find another one that was a little stronger I believe, as I have heard all vibes are different. I like the idea of the effect alot, and I think fulltone is definately on to something. It should be noted that this is one of the old white ones that everyone harps about. The sounds I can get with this pedal have opened yet another door for me to explore. I highly recommend it.

I use it with Fulltone's Clyde Wah, Fulldrive 2, Octafuzz, Crother Hot Cake, Way Huge Aqua Puss, all powered through a Pedal Power. I split it in stereo through a Matchless and a Victoria amp and primarily play a modified Jeff Beck Strat with Duncan Classic Stacks and a Don Grosh Retro Classic with Fralins. Wow! What a great stereo spread. This thing just kills the TC Chorus I had before for getting a great organic tone. I like the Vibrato setting with a fairly low intensity, kind of a Michael Landau-type subtle chorus. The chorus gets you that Hendrix thing, although that's not the tone I'm going for.

I use a Fender Hotrod Deville 2X12 Amp with a Fender American Std Strat with David Gilmour Pickups. I use a memoryman, digital delay, Fulltone soulbender, a Clyde Wah, and the Dejavibe. The Sound is magnificent. Hendrix and Trower are no problem with this.

This pedal replaces my Dunlop Univibe. It is by far surperior in tone. I think the true bypass helps. I give it a 10 hands down. I know the pedal was expensive, but you gotta pay for good tone. I'll never give this up.

Basically simple-knobs for rate, depth, switches for bright/dark and Chorus/Vibrato. Can take some time to get exactly the right sound, as this gives a lot of flexibility. The rate wheel is big enough to turn with your toes while you play!

Excellent! The Chorus is the best I've had-I've got a CE1, a Roland Space Echo, I've tried every box that Ibanez, Boss and DOD have put out. It's the best. Transparent, lush and musical. The Vibrato is the third best I've played, after the CE1 and the Magnatone amp. It's just a bonus in view of the Chorus.

For anything light (eg not over the top distortion) this pedal is indispensable. The only problem is the price, but given what CE1s go for, and the fact that they're 20 years old, it's a good deal. The only change I'd make is an inboard (as opposed to wall wart) power supply.

I use the Deja Vibe more as a chorus type of unit than anything else. I wanted a touch of sparkle for clean sounds and did not want a chorus pedal. The underwater whoosy thing is so cool, but I leave the intensity real low - just a touch is so nice. It just kills when you are ripping huge distortion sounds and push the intensity way up, Hendrix/Trower land. Very flexible and usefull. Vibrato mode is not much use to me. The bright/dark switch is pretty cool. Depending on whether or not I am pushing out in front of band or locked in the pocket, I can use this switch to switch between the two -- bright mode seems to add some db's.

I sold a Replifex and other stuff to get a TC Electronic G-Force. I took it back and used the money to buy a Fulltone Supa Trem, this Deja Vibe and a PRS CE. I made the right choice for me. The G-Force is a pristine sounding product, but I needed organic and real sounding stuff. And I could not justify the cost. The combo of my Deja Vibe, Fulltone Supa Trem, and Fulltone Clyde Wah gives me quality effects that I use and nothing else. I would have only tapped about 10% of the G-Force and I don't have a midi pedal, so I'd have to get one of those if I had kept it anyway. For floor pedals, Fulltone arguably makes the finest going. As far as Uni Vibe's, Fulltone and Voodoo Labs are the best sounding and the Fulltone offers more flexibility and features. No contest.

3 knobs (rate, volume and depth), 2 switches (chorus/vibe and bright/dark)-not much trouble setting it up. I can move all the switches with my toes, so I can adjust on the fly. I don't use the bottom 1/4 of the depth dial. The volume is really useful on this type of effect, you can use it to bring the guitar/effect forward, or bury it in the mix.

This is a fairly subtle effect-it affects your tone deeply, but doesn't stand up and slap you in the face. It sounds especially good as a clean chorus with excellent shimmer without becoming harsh, and sweet tone. The vib effects your tone more, varying from a very subtle waveriness to chords, to a pleasing vibrato that's too much for chords, but excellent for single note lines. This is the first analog vib I've owned, and I didn't know what to expect, but Mike has built another pedal that embellishes the sound of your guitar/amp and playing, without overwhelming it. The stereo effect is also nice, again, not twisting your head off, but improving the airiness of the tone.
