I want to write this review for one reason only, because i am pissed.

Get this, my old power conditioner was falling apart, so i felt it was time to upgrade. I go online, GREAT, there is a new series of "special" and "better" power conditioners. I loved my old one, so i had to buy one of the newer ones. Anyway, i buy one and go home and put it in my rack. What would u know, this thing is to friggen big. IT WON'T FIT IN MY STANDARD SIZE SKB CASE?!?! WHAT?!?!? The back panel of the furman touches the back of my case, its useless. (i can't even leave my plugs plugged in, thats how close it is to the back)
I am really pissed for the fact that companies always do this. If you have been playing guitar for a while and have been buying stuff for a while, you know exactly what i mean. Now that Furman has there new half assed power conditioner's out, everyone is going to have to buy a new "SPECIAL" skb case. Its complete B*llshit. BEWARE OF THIS PRODUCT, FOR ALL THOUGH IT WORKS GREAT AND LOOKS GREAT OUTSIDE THE BOX, YOUR RACK CASE WILL HAVE OTHER OPINIONS ABOUT IT. USE CAUTION!

No rocket science here...mount it in a rack and plug your other gear into it. Has a voltz meter on the front (bright red, yellow, and organge colors) and pull out lights to see your gear below it (that are dimmable).

Sound Quality : 10
I have the Crown CE-100 power amp plugged into this, my Mackie VLZ-1402 Pro Mixer, and Fostex M-8 Digital Recorder. I don't have other gear because my amp, Line 6 Vetta HD, does all the effects. Very simple setup.

I was getting a serious buzzing sound from my amp when plugged into a standar power-surge strip. I bought this thing and there is absolutely no noise whatsoever! Cheap fix for $95 (used).

I haven't had it long. I"m not sure. I would definitely need some sort of backup for giggin'.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't dealt with them.

Hey, it does what it is supposed to. I did notice that it gets extremely hot, however. Buy it used and save some cash.

Easy to use, but a poor design. You can never turn off the LED's, which are too bright.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
Clean sound quality, but the quality of the actual unit is somewhat chinzy, expecially the lamps, circuit breaker and switches.

Reliability : 2
Bottom line. The master power switch broke after about 10 uses. The lights were chinzy. The led's were obnoxious and could never be turned off. Therefore I returned it and bought an ART SP 4X4. Same specs, but with a tasteful meter instead of obnoxious LED's. Much higher quality in every respect especially the swiches, lights, and circuit breaker (compare the two side by side before purchasing, and you'll see what I mean) Also the ART was about $80 less. Case Closed.

Customer Support : No Opinion
N/A returned it within two weeks due to a defective switch.

Overall Rating : 1
Buy the ART SP 4x4 and you will be more satisfied with your purchase. (P.S. I also demo'd the Carvin power conditioner, also junky)

The Furman PL+ is a very easy and handy tool, and the perfect acsessory to any rack. Eight outlets in the back, a power switch, voltage LED moitoring, and a couple of nice lights too!

Sound Quality : 10
This unit doesn't make any sounds. On the other hand, it eliminates them.. Radio noise and wall-outlet related noise is minimized, so that's more tone for the player I guess! This fall in the sound quality category, right? Anyway, this is a ten as well.

Reliability : 10
I always though of this cind of surge protection as a no-brainer. It's like a little cheap incurance, actually.. Cause if something terrible should happen one day, the Furman will be there to take the shock BEFORE anything of that plugged into it get's fried.
The PL+ actually came in use for me one day. I had all my gear plugged in, and had just turned my poweramp on and "POOF!" There was smoke coming out of the Furman, but luckily no musical equipment was harmed. I mean.. I'd rather loose a PL+ than a Mesa/Boogie TriAxis, 2:90 and TC Electronic G-Major now wouldn't you? So to conclude; this unit WORKS and does what it's supposed to!

Customer Support : No Opinion
No, I havn't had their customer support!

Overall Rating : 10
Enough said, go get this for your equipment; you do not deserve to take the risk of fried gear!
