Ease of Use : 9
Easy to use (mine came with the box and paperwork). Just an insane amout of gain. Two stages you can toggle between with one switch. True by-pass on/off with the other. Setting it up is a snap and plenty of room to fine tune to your particular tone.

Sound Quality : 10
I have a variety of guitars and amps. I can dial a nice tone with just about any. This pedal produces a square wave and sounds like "distortion" (something many many pedals claim but fail to do).
This pedal can be dialed down to work as a boost or overdrive but sounds best when pushed and is producing distortion. Very natural sounding. Adds the pick dynamics and a reasonable level.

Reliability : 10
Geoffrey Teese only builds top quality products. You can buy Teese products without fear. Since the are two of three dozen of these in existence there is no such thing as a backup (not that you need one).

Customer Support : 10
There is NO ONE better at customer support and/or satisfaction than Geoffrey Teese. He is the benchmark by which all others are measured.

Overall Rating : 10
I pick up this pedal NOS and couldn't be happier. It actually does exaclty what all of those other "distortion" pedals claim to do (and I have played most of them). I have been playing 30+ years and have tried literally hundreds of pedal and not one of them sounds like this one. It's a keeper.

Easy to use, just watch the level so you don't fry your amp. This thing puts out one heck of alot of gain. There are two stages you can toggle between with a footswitch. Takes a while to set them correctly. Would have been nice to have a seperate level control for each stage instead of a master level and distortion control for stages one and two.

Sound Quality : 6
I use it as my main distortion sound, but then again I rarely use distortion so when I do I want something that doesn't sound like everybody else. At extreme settings this puppy goes to square wave! Cool, but probably not for metalheads. Haven't found a distortion unit I like better, but I'm still looking. Big thing about this box is that it doesn't sound like everything else out there. My bandmates all dig the tone, although to me it's sometimes a little too like 70's Bob Fripp...

Reliability : 10
It won't let you down, or at least never has done it to me.

Customer Support : 10
Teese doesn't even make these anymore, and he responded to my email right away. He's proud of his work, and rightly so. The damn thing is signed in the back! I'm sure if there were any problems he'd be on top of it.

Overall Rating : 8
For an outside distortion sound this is a hard choice to beat. If it were stolen or lost I'd be pissed because I have no idea what you'd replace it with. Still wish it had a seperate level control for each gain stage, but then it wouldn't be cascading gain stages, which appears to be the idea of the pedal. It's not for the timid or conservative (it doesn't make your guitar sound like those on the radio) but it's the best I've yet to find. The rating below reflects my hope there's better out there.
