Smokey below must be smoked out. Teese pic wah is amazing sounding if you know how to use it and what a great old vox wah sounds like. It really nails classic Hendrix tones when using a strat and a 45/100 plexi. Best choice I ever made buying this as it sounds like the best wah I have ever played. Dont be fooled by this guys crappy rewiew as he likes his morley wah for comfort lol. Pic wah does not look like it is made in china and is as tough as a wah can be. Indestructable no but for me there has been no problems. Quality best sounding wah I have ever played. I liked it better than the cylde supaquack and my 68 vox. Try one then you decide. I am not going to go on about how many years I have played and how many vintage strats I own or how many crappy cover bands I have played in. Teese rmc wahs espe the picture wah speakers for it self and he is one of the only guys out there that has made it right.

So far so good been using for about one year. No problems. As with any wah that gets heavy use things will fail eventally. Like the pot and switch. Qaulity parts and solid workman ship. It seems like a lot of people judge a pedal by there eyes. I have the newer rohs appoved wah and it is great. It does have a green pc board SO WHAT. So does alot of high quality awesome sounding pedal Analogman sunface nkt, foxrox pedal paradox, many many more. The plastice jacks I have heard are acutally stronger and better than the previous ones. Even Dave fox uses them for the same reason.

I had a question about the trimmer. I emailed Teese and got a answer in no **** 10 mins on a sunday wow. Unlike most of the botuqie guys Teese actually has great customer service could not be any better. Answered all my questions and straight to the point. Very professional and kind. Out of every piece of gear I own Teese has had the best Cs.

I play many styles of music. I utilize Hendrixs tone for the most part when I can in a musical sitution. I have been playing 13 years. I am currently on break from playing 6 nights aweek in southeast asia and I am playing guitar driven rock with a 45/100 marshall plexi and voodoo strat. It does totally nail the classic Hendrix tones if you have the right amp hands ears and strat. Or any nice sounding amp would work with it. I hate doing these reviews and have tried not to be a total *** like smokey. I feel it was past do with the picture wah and I am so happy with I have deciced I had to spread the word about it and waste 15 mins of my time. Buy one I recommend it and read about on the rmc wah page to see if it is for you. Fuzz friendly is great as I use fuzz;s alot and it works amazingly. Imo the fulltone cylde was good but this is great and it has ff tech and most importantly nails the tone the way a great old vox does . This is not a classic just recieved honeymoon review. Influnced by the I love it is my syndrome. I waited a while to do my crappy review with horrible spelling and never do these. Take it for what it is worth. Was worth the money one of the few pedal I actaully feel this about a year down the line.

Setup
---------
I have a really big line up of guitars, but we'll just use a vintage strat for this review, since I feel they sound best with wahs. I have two vintage strats that sound completely different. That goes into a timmy od which goes into an eh memory man deluxe and a super reverb re-issue. Not to many effects but I play the blues.
I also own the fulltone clyde, dunlop crybaby, vox v848 clyde, and a real clyde that I dont feel comfortable gigging with.
This sounds a lot like my dunlop crybaby. No offense to teese but its overpriced man. Inside it looks a lot like my crybaby to so i feel like im paying a couple hundred for some chinese crap thats the same thing.
Not saying its all that bad, it gets some sweet sounds..but so does my crybaby. I would say its a little better, but for the price its not close to worth it.
Still havent found THAT SOUND yet, but Im waitin. I thought itd be good from all the positive stuff i read on reviews, but i guess anybody can say anything.
COMPLETE disappointment, 5 for not sounding bad, but not sounding that good either.

I play blues and rock with an active cover band. Ive been playing for 32 years if I remember right and own to much gear to name.
If it was stolen I wouldnt really care about the pedal as much as the guy that stole it from me. Id kill the guy and put the pedal back in the closet.
I dont love it and only hate it because i was so excited about it and was let down. This guy most have people on the internet working for him or something because theres no way its that good for 200 bucks.
I still want a good wah. At least its not as bad as the budda wah i spent almost the same on and it sounded like week crap!

Step on Step off, has the little trimmer pot inside the blue box inside of the pedal, not hard to spot. Takes only a very slight turn to
reduce/add buffer for for balance of signal / noise ratio adjustment.

OK, this review will be brief. Strat through stacked low gain OD's and Ultra Fuzz high gain (adjusted low gain here for all attempts to win me over) and through Boss CE-2 and delays. Amps are small solid state amps, Bi amped and set up in 4 corners.
No matter what, I could not keep this pedal from screeching small white noise out of the amps, any amp. Trimmed that pot downward until the output was nearly OFF, by then the effect was gone. Heel up all the way and it just went WOOOOOO...loudly, until.........All the low gain setting OD's were off.
A/B'ed this wah with my Morgan Miller modded TB Crybaby and night and day operation.
My decision is that this Pedal I believe really wants nothing but the High End AMPS nat. distortion and few clocked pedals in front and that's the name of this game. Good sweep good sound , but only Straight to Amp.
I played one at Fat Sounds through to a Dr Z 18 and it cooked.
So there you go.
Not going to skew numbers here so NO OPINION

Always wanted one, pulled the trigger on this when I found one on ebay for cheap. Been playing and testing gear for a LONNNNNNG Time. Have 2 Strats and PRS single cut with buckers that I did NOT try. This is a good quality pedal, it's just not what I need in the way of a wah with my rig. I am sure that the High END Tube folks ( and I was a DIE HaRD one until I had to go small with my travels) will appreciate it, or they won't if they encounter the same problems.

It's very easy to use. It's been 10 years since I bought my last wah pedal, and I didn't know how switches have evolved since then. I really dig the switch for this wah. Turning on my old Crybaby was a pain in the butt, but this new generation of switch makes the wah more live friendly.

I mostly run a Strat into a Fender tube amp with a tube screamer. It's a very vocal wah. It makes your guitar pronounce "WAH." It's a trip. The travel is spread out nice, and is smooth. I guess John Mayer uses one, too. It seems smoother when played cleanly, but if you add over drive after the signal, it gets nice and rude. you can't go wrong with this wah.

I trust Geoffrey.
I first ran my Wah with the One Spot 9v adaptor. After using it for about 30 minutes, I noticed the "NO ONE SPOT 9V ADAPTOR" sticker on the bottom. I guess you should power it with a regulated 9v adaptor with no more than 200ma output. Oops. I emailed Geoffrey, and he kindly wrote me back with an adaptor recommendation. He backs his work.

i swear that people spend more time describing their rig and bragging about it than they do describing the tone! simply put: humbucking guitar>6505>4x12
this wah is a hot rodded clyde mccoy. alot of people swear that all of the vintage wahs came stock like this...but they all didnt. i admit, ive played some pretty NICE sounding vintage wahs, but played more lame than good. ive also been building wahs for the past few years, so i know what goes into a wah pedal to make it sound good.
the material used for the capacitors makes a difference, more so than the resistors. at such a low voltage, id think that carbon composition resistors would only be noisy. but this wah is no different from anything with metal film resistors. interesting that teese chose to used that specific value for the electrolytic capacitor, as thats typically the value i felt sounded best, as well. :-D
the pot is finely tuned to his ear, the way a GREAT pot should sound. Icar, capitalized!
and the inductor, a fine piece of chocolate goodness that has, for me, completed a long conquest for the ultimate vintage wah tone. not to mention, ABSOLUTE CONSISTENCY. i bought this wah a week ago brand new, because i had one in the past and cant figure out what happened to it...i had a RMC3 that i let a guy (RICH KIMURA) borrow, and he never gave it back...smooth...
anyways, this picture wah is more than just the same 'ol "got my blues strat, blues amp, and gotta get my hendrix/srv blues wah!" im not incredibly fond of blues purists, simply after working for carvin for 6 months only to deal with these absolute blues tone snobs on a daily basis...
ive heard/owned 90% of wahs on the market. this is my favorite for the classic wah tone, hands down. the bottom end of the sweep is just as good as it should be, not over the the top. no smooth highs, here! if you want smooth highs, a wah pedal may not be the one for you. the inductor sounds as if its rich in harmonics (tuned well to 503mH, 30ohms), a way of making it cut through all of the rich distortion that the 6505 has to dish out. at the bottom of the neck, i managed to get it to make my chords scream with madness into a wall of distortion, while being able to rock it in the middle for solos to help cut through the cold cheese that are Paiste rude cymbals.
teese, you sir are doing something beyond great. not to mention, i LOVE the blue!!!

been playing forever, blah blah blah. if youre looking for a classic wah tone (that doesnt mean an old wah tone you cant use for metal), then this is it. it cuts through incredibly well, its extremely vocal, its backed by a great warranty, a great guy, and if you expect anything less than incredible, you have poor taste. (mark my words). you can pay twice as much for for the next soon-to-be-gone boutique wah dude out of the bedroom and be disappointed, or you can do the right thing and support someone with the best talent, knowledge, and appreciation for the wah wah.
now to buy another wizard wah...

I have about ten+ wahs including 70s Morleys, some Dunlop pedals (those with knobs and whatnot), and an old Maestro Boomerang pedal. My second favorite pedal is a simple Thomas Organ Crybaby pedal with a Dunlop Hotpot installed. It is a wicked pedal, but this Teese Picture Wah, my new favorite wah, just has that honk to it. It sounds about exactly like the wah sounds from the late 60s. It has a strong tone. Some wahs might be more radical, but this one sounds georgous to my ears. I like it better for the tone, which seems to be dead on the best of the old Clyde McCoy pedals. Also, my guess is that some of the talk I have heard on the net about the pre-environmental reg pedals, particularly the 2005 series sounding so much better, is probably hype. You know how we guitar geeks can be about our gear. It does not lack for Kahunahs. Also, the fuzz friendly additon to the curcuit is a big plus. I play through a Fulltone silicon fuzz pedal, so the buffer keeps the wah effect open sounding and not screaming. The Foxrox upgrade for the old pedals would cost you a few.

Only owned it a couple weeks, seems to be built like a tank. The housing is the traditional Vox/Thomas Organ style that seems to be made out of cast alluminum. The board mounted jacks might or might not give me issues in the future, but they look pretty snug. We'll say 8 with the jacks, but it's likely not a problem.

I must say, the metallic blue paint job reminds me of my old souped up '79 Cutlass. I just wish it came in metallic purple haze, man. I play mostly harder blues oriented rock for lack of a better description. I've messed around with punk and alt rock but my heart lies in the Zep/Hendrix et al school mostly. My gear consists of Gibsons, an Oasis Artist (70s boutique guitar), a Hagstrom I, a bunch of pedals that I switch out, including Fulltone 70s, Soulbener, Ibanez 808 series phaser, chorus, and flanger, as well as a TS-808, and a bunch of other stuff. Just bought a good 'ol Big Muff, which will be modded along with the TS-808. I have Marshall cabs, a Marshall Power amp, a Trace Elliot TVT-9 guitar preamp and other gear. Anyway, it sounds great. So far I have only played it through my Ampeg VT-22 combo amp since I moved into a Marshall hostile apartment. I'd rather just plug into the combo than deal with all that rig as well. If you want a Clyde McCoy pedal and if you want to get yer Hendrix on, this is the pedal for you. You get what you pay for and this is no exception. I'd definitely get another one if it were lost or stolen. I'd say 10 if not for the jacks. Sound-a definite ten, or 11 as Nigel Tufnel would say.

This wah is a very vintage sounding wah with alot of quack. If you rock this wah from heel to toe in rhythm it might even quack too much. When you play with this wah wah you have to learn to rock it back and forth as much as you want the frequencies to go up or down, making it a little tricky to use I guess. (But it's like riding a bike, you will learn how to do it, and once you do, you will never forget how to do it.)
Personally I love it, because when you really want it to squeel you go full toe down and it screams like no other wah (I've played).
Also I like that even in full heel it doesn't go too low. Before the RMC pic I had a Fulltone Clyde Deluxe which went back after a couple of days. That wah wah sounded so muffled at full heel as it sounded like the guitar came and went when you rocked the pedal.
I give the Picture wah a 10 for the long sweep and excellent sound!

I could actually recommend people to buy a RMC wah just because when you do, you will never have to worry. Excellent customer support is just a mail away.
One time I mailed Geoffrey and I recieved an automated reply saying that he had taken his first vacation in many years and that he would get back to me as soon as he could.
That was also the longest time I had to wait for a reply from him.
Do you want to know how long I had to wait??

I don't own that many pedals, but few of them has a permanent place on the pedalboard. Actually there's only two, the Peterson Strobostomp and the RMC Picture Wah. Also the Memory Man Deluxe hasn't been off the board in quite a while now either.
For people searching after the BEST WAH PEDALS ON EARTH. STOP HERE!
RMC IS THE BEST.
Don't worry about people that write about these pedals being noisy or tonesucking etc. They either have faulty units or they doesn't know what they're talking about.
Remeber though that the Picture wah has a vintage voice to it and may not be suitable for modern music. I definitely doesn't say it would work, because it would for me, but some people might think it doesn't. It's just a heads up..

Superb sound. As always with pedals it surely depends on in which order and with what else you use them in chain to get the best sound out of it. This is my way: Strat -> Teese Picture Wah -> ZVex Box of Rock -> MojoVibe -> AM Bi-Comp (only for clean sounds) -> Retro-Sonic Chorus -> Bogner Duende.
I have been playing many Wah pedals. The Picture Wah is the end of my Wah search. I own the new "fuzzfriendly" model. It workes perfect with my BoR. But that's not really a fuzz or distortion pedal anyway.
The Picture Wah always cuts through the mix. Punchy and never harsh.
I also own a RMC 2 which also is a great pedal but which besides the Picture Wah I came to use more in studio situations. The Picture Wah is just a rock live. Wah and finito.

With all due respect to the previous reviewer, I actually like to read negative reviews as well as glowing ones. It helps me learn shortcomings about a product that I might want to buy, or ultimately -- not buy. But scathing negatives that don't back up the reason for such and don't go into explicit details aren't helpful to the user community.
Getting on with it -- very easy to use -- it's a Wah pedal. Step to turn it on, sweep while you pay, step to turn it off. Unscrew to change battery, or use a power adapter. Forget tweakability -- this wah pedal doesn't need it. And now it comes with a variation of the FoxRox retrofit so that it plays nicely and sweeps full range with fuzz pedals, for no additional cost. Can't beat that with a stick!! Voila!

I've been waiting a long time for these to become available based upon word of mouth and seeing a friend of mine use a Wizard Wah life on his board. This is what I've been searching for since I bought my first Crybaby 15 years ago. Beautiful tone with any guitar, especially with my Strat. Sounds great with all my guitars, amps, pedals, dirt boxes, pickups. If you're a Les Paul player, I highly suggest checking out the Wizard Wah as well.

Mr. Teese has a great reputation as a builder and service oriented person, and he backed that up personally with me. Got him on the phone very easily after I ordered my Wah with a question about the retrofit. Very helpful dude. Great on email as well. Better quality DPDT switch than the previous blue 3PDT, Carling, Cliff, etc. that I've used over the years.
I've had some problems with the Switchcraft jacks I've been using so I've gone to a different pcb layout, with high quality board mounted jacks that won't foul like the Switchcraft have. Believe me, I put my prototype through absolute hell before I went into production with the new layout.

Tonereaper, aka James Hebert, is posting misleading, slanderous statements about me, my wahs, my employees, and my business in general, all over the internet. He does not own an RMC wah. He owns an Area 51 wah.
My wahs are still built in my workshop, currently in South Carolina, using the best available components. I have redesigned my entire line in order to better meet international RoHS and WEEE laws. I stand behind my new wahs every bit as much as I stand behind my old wahs. I have not sacrificed tone or quality in order to meet the new international laws. It was either follow the new laws or close. Period. End of story. Change or die.
Please note that I did not give any rating points anywhere. This entry is here to rebuff the previous post from Tonereaper, but not to alter the now skewed numbers.

To start, it's a wah. Plug and play. The on/off switch is nice and loose, so you don't have to stomp on it to turn it on or off. It's true bypass, which is essential for a wah. There is absolutely no signal lost in the chain.
Sound Quality
:
10
Wow. I've played the main wah's out there (Dunlop, Vox), but this thing is on a totally different level. The true bypass really helps, as I am a freak about losing any signal. It has a huge sweet spot, very musical. I play a Les Paul through a JCM 800, and what is realy impressive is the amount of sustain you can get from this pedal. Through my set up, it definitely colors the tone, and reduces some of the "growl" from the Marshall, but this is not a bad thing. It adds sustain, and somehow a little overdrive to the sound. The lows sound amazing, and the mids are very tight. This pedal just sings when your playing lead and sounds nice and fat when your playing rhythm. Most impressive, it is not noisy. You do know that it is on as you can hear the filter, but it is not loud. Some have siad that it is not humbucker friendly. I can say without a doubt that it takes everything my LP has with room for more.

Geoffrey is very quick to resond to emails, and answered all my questions. It took several months to get this pedal (I ordered it in June), and I originally ordered an RMC1. There was a mix up between the store I ordered it from and Teese, they only received the picture Wah's and some RMC3's. Rather than wait, I grabbed a picture wah and could not be happier.

Strat - Picture Wah - Vibe Unit - AnalogMan SunFace NKT 275 - Fulldrive 2 - Analogman BiComp - Retro-Sonic Chorus - Bogner Duende. Way the best Wah ever! I tried many. Fulltone Deluxe: pretty good for studio work - I can imagine using this for some studio work - but does not really cut through live in a band. New Voxes and Dunlops: cold, even somehow digital. I also tried a RMC 2 which also is a very good wah but is a bit more mellow at some settings. So it's a matter of taste.
But to me the Picture Wah ist THE Wah. Step on it and it is all there. Uuuuuaaaaahhhh. Exactly like the old Cream and best Hendrix. Deep bass goes to very smooth yet punchy mids and ends in a biting but never shrill or harsh Sound. Excellent smooth progress thru all the frequencies. It does not really sound like it has a volume boost. It just takes over your volume and also the original guitar sound very organic when you step on it. The sound of your guitar is 100% there. Nothing but a 10.

I had a problem that turned out to be a flaw with the bottom casing. Either it was a bit bent already or it got bent while I was playing it, but I hardly even played it out. This pedal is truly THE sound. It's very vintage sounding with deep vowel-like sounds, you remember from great recordings of old. Tried it through a multitude of 60's amps, Super Reverb, Twin Reverb, Vibrolux, even a Traynor Reverb Master with a Don Grosh Strat, Custom Shop Fender Hardtail, Schecter Strat (with Fender Abigail pickups), and it could not sound better. TRUE BYPASS like this Picture Wah is essential cause otherwise these circuits are gigantic tone suckers.
It's not the pedal if you really want that 'Shaft' thing but I don't play too much wickity wackity stuff (sounds too shrill). I love it for single notes (a la Robben Ford) and subtle smooth lows and upper mids.
The thing I like the most is that my guitars still sound like my guitars. Most wahs take over completely the sound of your guitar. To me, this wah is very MUSICAL...meaning it responds to how I play, what my style is and interprets it transparently.
I don't mean to gush this much but of all the pedals I've bought of late, this one inspires me to play guitar...that's a good feeling.
Like I said, smooth lows and highs with nothing too edgy in between. I've played other wahs...like the Fulltone Clyde which I liked but this Picture Wah just has more 'soul' and fits me better.
Some say this if voiced for single coils but many guys I know like these for their buckers. My mini hums loved it.
I play it with Fulltone FullDrive2 10th Anniversary, OCD, '69, Supa Trem, Barber LTD, Direct Drive, Launch Pad, RC Booster, Keeley SD-1, BD-2, DL4, MM4 (do these mods!!), Arion Chorus (for rotary only) - now Teese Picture Wah.
I don't know about the other wahs out there but I can't imagine them being any better than this baby

THE main reason I took the time to write this review is so you can total IGNORE the comments from the guy preceding me (Mark Quinn). It MUST be some kind of FREAK thing that he went through. If you read ANY review in ANY of the Teese Products, you will see that Geoffrey Teese actually cares about his products and will do just about anything to keep you happy.
I wrote him an email asking him a couple of stupid, obvious questions and he wrote right back with all the info I needed in a kind, human tone that makes you just want to support this guy.
Again, don't believe this last guy....my guess is that nothing was going to make him happy. And even he LOVED how it sounded...what does that say about Teese products.

Listen....there is a benefit to paying a bit more for HAND BUILT stuff. Although other pedals have a certain magic, it's nice to know this was not on a big assembly line where they try to save pennies to make more money. This guy put his name on these...I don't think he wants it to stand for crap.

For those of you who have mentioned that Mr. Teese has cordially answered your questions, all I can say is I really hope nothing goes wrong with your pedal. When I emailed him about the switch he gave me 3 options: 1) Try to fix it myself, 2)Send the pedal back with $13 to pay for shipping back to me, 0r 3) send him $9 and he'd send a new switch. When I told him that I didn't believe that any of these options was really acceptable for a brand new pedal that I just spent $235 for, he became defensive to the point of paranoia. He even said that he was not paid for the wah by Junior's Music in CT because they had a major fire. I found this store on his own website as a certified Teese dealer, and his not getting paid had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the new pedal I bought broke almost immediately. I will also mention that it never left my house, and I played it maybe 3 times for a total of about 1/2 hour before it broke. In comparison, a few months ago I received a new Zendrive from Alfonso Hermida that had a problem with the 9V adaptor. He immediately sent me a new one and the money to cover shipping the first one back to him. When I mentioned this to Mr. Teese, his response was that Alf Hermida must have a better service department. NO KIDDING! As the emails between us got a little saltier, I realized that this is one arrogant, nasty man.

As anyone who has ever used a wah wah pedal knows, it takes a bit of practice to master one. The Picture Wah has that sweet spot that we are all looking for. Once found, and with a little bit of practice, it's not too difficult to get great sounds.

I use a '62 Strat through a Mesa Boogie Mark I Reissue (with an Ayan Smooth & Slim). Some of my other effects are a FoxRox CC2, Foxrox Paradox TZF, Fulltone Full-Drive 2, Fulltone '70, Keeley Compressor, Keeley modified Blues Driver BD-2, Keeley modified Boss CE-2, Barber DD, EH Deluxe Memory Man and, of course, a Teese PW.
The Teese Picture Wah is phenomenal. I have been playing on and off for 35 years and have been looking for "that sound" since the 70's. I used to have a lot of vintage pedals back in the day but sold most of them back then because I was a poor musician and needed the money. I still have an old VOX but it sounds like crap so it's pretty much unusable.
I began looking for the "perfect" wah wah and tried everything I could find. Upon searching the Internet, I heard about the Teese RMCs. I tried the RMC2 and RMC3 at my local distributor in Denver. I really liked the sound of these wah wah's but wanted to try the PW before I finally decided.
I emailed Geoffrey with some questions and he answered me immediately. He convinced me that the sound I was describing was in the Picture Wah. I started calling all the Teese distributors until I found the PW and ordered it. When I got it, I was totally blown away. This thing is exactly what I have been searching for.

The Teese PW is built very solid. I took it apart to install a Foxrox Wah Retrofit and was very impressed with the build quality of this pedal.
My only complaint is about the distributor I bought it from (Music Arts Enterprise). The Picture Wah they sent me had a bent up bottom plate. I had to take it off and try to straighten it out. It looked like it was a floor demo or something. Besides the bottom plate being bent up, everything else looks perfect so I decided to keep it (and besides the PW are hard to find).
Also, the picture on the bottom plate was torn up so Geoffrey was kind enough to send me a new picture to replace the torn one and it looks almost brand new again.

I play mostly Blues, Blues Rock and some Fusion. As I said previously, I have played on and off for 35 years. Just recently I decided to get back into playing after being away from the guitar for about 5 years. I knew it would take some motivation so I first had to decide what I was going to play (I didn't want to go off in 10 different directions as I have done in the past). I decided to relearn some old Hendrix songs and stick with my Blues roots and hence my search for some nice "vintage" effects.
The Teese Picture Wah is one of my greatest inspirations. Every time I plug it in, I grin and try to play "Still Raining, Still Dreaming." If it was lost or stolen, I would buy another immediately. I am thinking about buying a backup just in case anything does happen to it. I like it that much!
Thank you Geoffrey Teese, you are a gentleman and an electronics wizard!

I don't use any other effect pedals at all, just guitasr into wha into amp. This pedal sounds great with any combination of the above. you can get that classic Clapton Live Cream Vol. 2 sound with this pedal. I am using a Fender strat that doesn't sound like a Fender at all, it has a dark bottomed sound that everyone loves.Mind you some people have offer me Gibsons, T andersons, etc for trade for this one.I changed the pick up to T anderson, two singles and one Humbucker, yeah, it sounds cool. Then it was send to be modded by VoodooAmps.
The amp is also a Modded Mesa Tremoverb (By VoodooAmps too) and the list of my effects are, in no specific order:
Teese Wah, Budda wah( a friend that i liked, but is now collecting dust),germ prescription booster - overdrive, voodoo Labs sparkle Drive-Tc electronic chorus -f,eharmonix (american)phaser, wanna buy it? i am not using it much, Guyatone Delay.
Well, here it is,this is the best money i have ever spent on anything i have ever bought musically.
This wah has tone for days , years , u name it.
It has some kind of grawl into it, but at the same time it is defined , creamy, i can't really ut it in words, it vomits, i know creamy and vomits in the same sentence???? YES it is like a conjuction of both worlds.
I can't praise it enough, it is the best ever.
I friend of mine, which has great taste when it comes to sound , has a Fulltone Clyde Deluxe, he called me and showed it to me. Yes it sound good, but compare to this beast, it sounds like a Toy to me and my ears.

The range is all usable, no shrieking highs, no loose bottom, which it has plenty , it is just so perfect!!!!
should i give it 20 if i could , no man , i should given it a 100, so good it is.

I have been playing for more than 12 years now
i told you what my current gear is
If it gets stolen, i would go buy me another one or i would never use a Wah again, i can't look at myself using anything else now>
MR TEESE , Thanks for spoiling me!!!!
I compared it with my own Budda, Vox and my friend's Fulltone Clyde DEluxe, i find them average sounding now, i couldn't use any of those now, they are like toys and the Fulltone looks like a very expensive toy to me
By the Way, i have never given 10's on anything, this is the first time i do

My set up is as follows: Gibson SG Standard->Dyna Comp->Teese Picture Wah->Ibanez TS-808(reissue)->Boss PH-3->Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 401. But I do constantly switch these around like wah->TS808-> dynacomp or any of a thousand other ways. My amp is noisy on its own for some reason and I dont know how to fix it add the dynacomp=more noise, TS808=even more noise, now add the Wah=whole shit load of noise!! The wah by itself seems to add a quite a bit of noise but its not too bad on the clean channel but any distortion makes it noisy(a real loud hiss is probably the best way to discribe it). It also picks up a radio station from time to time which is odd. But my Dunlop GCB-95 was noisy and just the other day it actually picked up a radio station. Heres an interesting side note: The Picture Wah has a true bypass and I used the test of taking the battery out and playing thru it with no battery and this Wah works as long as you dont try to turn it on by stepping on it, but my Dunlop Crybaby GCB-95 I paid $90 does the same thing! Just food for thought

Overall a good pedal. The only thing I wish I had done was bought the RMC-1, Wizard Wah, Picture Wah and the RMC-3 all at once tried them all and then returned all but then one I thought was the best. I live in Maine and no ones sells them nearby, there is one place an hour south of me but i never got a response to see if you can go there and try there products. If it were stolen i may buy the same one or a different model but i would stay with Teese. I play classic rock (crunchy kind) AC/DC, Zepp, but also jam to the Dead, Phish, Strangefolk. So i play pretty much everything. I hope this review helps.

I use digital products, a V-Amp 2 and Guitar Rig. I ran it clean & dirty. It has a vintage sound for sure. You can get Clapton with it, Beck, Hendrix, the usual, but it has its own voice. It sounds liquidy and even, not shrill. VERY clean and quiet. I only use echo/reverb with wah, sounds great. No noticeable volume boost when turned on or off.
Reliability
:

It's in the vintage style casings which could be problematic with regards to the treadle. I had problems with a Dunlop once. The treadle may have been set too tight or something, as a result the action literally seized up. Since the RMC's are handmade, though, I'm not really concerned. There are adjustments that you can make to the treadle to suit your liking. Besides that, its built like a tank.

This is where it all comes together. Geoffrey answered all my questions and then some. He kept in touch before, during and after I got the wah. I like all kinds of music (except country) but I like to play rock.
I'd say this pedal covers a full spectrum of styles with no problem. I have a Parker Fly Supreme and I use Guitar Rig and a V-Amp 2 for home use. I would buy another one in a second if lost or stolen. It took a quite a while to get one as there is a waiting list, but sometimes you have to wait to get quality. I compared this with almost all the Dunlops and the Fulltone, and the Picture Wah beats them all hands down. The Dunlops are a little less money and the Fulltone is a lot more. I'd recommend this pedal to anyone who likes to wah!

It's one of those musical items you will buy and never regret! that wonderful Hendrix Wah sound is all there with all the warm and character! I use it with a 1993 Fender Strat Plus with gold sensor lace pickups, I also have a Custom Epiphone Les Paul with Seymour Duncans
What was that review about getting a Boss V Wah instead?? crazy? its a good idea with its features but for wah sounds it trys to simulate, its nowhere near as good as the real thing. If your looking for that classic 60's sound, this is one of the very best ones for you, those who might complain about it not suiting their music? do research before you buy stuff!, decide on what wah sound you really like and go get the right one, maybe a different RMC will suit you etc. I choose the Picture Wah because I love classic Wah sounds! don't put the it down for the reason that it didn't work with the type of music you play? theres different Wah's out there! This Wah is Quailty, in all areas, especially if your looking for a Hendrix type wah sound, its the best Wah I have personally heard, first time I heard it, after hearing several (Crybaby, Vox, Morley etc) I knew this was the ONE for me, the sound I was searching for!

Even if you are not into classic rock, blues etc. this pedal just sounds great, u must try one, it has a big personality
Its nice to know you have a Wah that someone sat down and handbuilt to be what a Wah should be, RMC wahs have that special personal touch, thanks Geoffrey for building my Wah! if your reading this? good luck for the future! peace, love and Wah

Is any wah pedal easy to use? Well that's not for me to judge.
I've heard musicians make magic with them, but I've also heard/seen some nerds really mess up their show with them too! Easy to use?
No I don't think wahs are easy to use at all.
You certainly do have to work at it, and I'm no exception, I'm learning all the time...

This is certainly the richest and most "alive" sounding wah I've used to date, and that makes it a keeper for me.
I tried a reissue Vox 847 some years ago, and it sounded good when using it, but it wrecked my tone when bypassed.
This is the ONLY reason why I bought a Fulltone Clyde, because of it's true bypass. I mean the Fulltone was ok, but I didn't use it much during sets, just one or two songs, 'cause of it's pretty mediocre sound... I think the Fulltone is more suited to hotter pickups or even Humbuckers...
However I use Vintage type Strat single coils, made by Harry Haussel (Germany) in a Schecter S series Strat, playing a lot of Texas blues in Stevie Ray's style, plus a lot of other bluesy rocky stuff too.
And the Picture Wah fits perfect for these styles I think.
And it has true bypass, which really is a good thing in a wah, but the use of true bypass in other pedals, has been overhyped quite a bit in recent years.
I mean, Ibanez and Boss, make pedals with great transparent buffered bypasses. OK I wouldn't put loads of 'em together, but one or two will actually improve your tone when using long cable runs.
Putting several true bypass pedals together will however ruin your tone... But in a wah it's really useful.

I do not use a back up, 'cause if it does break down in the middle of a gig, I'll finish the gig without it. I play guitar, a wah pedal is just a useful legal doping additive! (But the very best I've heard to date).
I had to adjust the tension of the metal strap that gives the rocker a firm feel, it wasn't allowing the switch to push the rocker back up to it's place of rest.
But I ain't nigglin', this is something I wouldn't bother Mr. Teese for, he's doing his best, he's probably a busy man, and I can do these little things myself.
Other than that, yes, I will depend on it.

Geoffrey Teese seems to me, to be a really nice guy, who has a genuine interest in making you happy in all things wah!
I chose the Picture Wah on his recommendation, and he was right.
Yes he's real helpful, and doesn't seem to put himself on a higher level like some other pedal makers do. I don't like people who adorn themselves with the achievements of the famous people who buy their pedals. Geoffrey Teese will treat you just like any other customer, I'm sure.

I have the Teese first in line. Its replacing a Crybaby that dumped on me mid-gig. I went purely based on reviews and research I did online. It is exactly what I was hoping it would be. Bar none, this is the BEST Wah I have ever played. It is VERY musicial, and has an excellent vocal quality that must be "Experienced"...(pun intended) to be believed.
So how good it it Blind Master Po? Well, Grasshopper....I sold my 30 year old Wah-wah collection after getting this one.I plan to get several more from RMC.Several guitar slinging buddies have asked:"WTF are you using for a Wah,Dude?"
I wish it had a LED....but it would be like a Tit on Whale! Ya'don't really need it with this sound quality. And ya' probably won't know when it's in the loop anyway until ya' step on it.
BTW- After this long in "Da Biz".....I don't award high points easily! Teese has earned my respect and I recommend this as a "Must Have"
A note: If you have Pro gear, and a High gain Amp, this Wah will sound great. But if you're relaying on a "Big Boost-Kick-in-the Pants" to juice up a underpowered Amp...don't quit your Day Job.
I.E. It's like fine Wine;Musicial and subtle.It's not rot-gut!

It is simple to use as far as wahs go, but of course it takes some skill to really use any wah effectively. Many other wahs have more tweakability, but this one comes with optimal sweep, center and Q, so I don't miss the extra knobs at all. I am deducting some points for the on/off switch being under the foot treadle. Every manufacturer has always done it that way, but it's still a bad idea.

:

This is the classic sound that everyone is looking for. If I could change anything, it would be the noise level, but that seems to be a given with wahs. Still, this is the quietest wah I have ever used and I haven't noticed any problems with radio frequency interference.

I bought one of the first prototypes used from a dealer. I noticed popping problems with the switch right away, but this is forvgivable considering the cirmustances. Other than that, everything seems pretty solid. Wahs have inherent weaknesses because of all the moving parts, but that is just the nature of the beast. If that bothers you, go buy a Pod and learn to live with mediocre tone.

A/B'ed this pedal with (2)Fasal inductor italian wahs, TDK inductor Cry Baby, TDK inductor Vox Wah, Vintage colorsound wah, newer Dunlop Jen Wah, Original Vox Clyde, Brown (stack of dimes) inductor Cry Baby wah, Fulltone Clyde, Vox reissue V847 & V848.
The Teese is hands down the quietest and most dynamic of them all. Great vocal quality on the bottom end , perfect sweep range (just the perfect amount of high freqency sweep). Smoother than an original Vox clyde (and the example I had was in my opinion the ultimate wah).
There is a lot of factors concerning construction of the wah circuit, every component must be matched just right. If this were easy (I've tried and modified many circuits) everyone would be selling the ultimate wah. Please give credit to Mr. Teese for his extraordinary efforts and stop complaining about the high price tag. Apparently he's got the ultimate formula and NOBODY else does. Listen with your ears not your pocket book or mind cluttering reviews like these.

Here's where we run into trouble. The first one I bought had a terrible crackling/radio receiving noise with the toe down position (effect activated). I took it back to the store where it was confirmed to be a dud, and brought home another one that didn't have that problem. BTW, this was not NORMAL buzzing. I know what that is, and this was much worse, as the store confirmed.
Now, the NEW one I have at home is cutting out occasionally when I turn the effect off. Very disappointing for a new $350 (CAN$) pedal, especially since the store (Songbird in Toronto) doesn't have any more. Seems like some QC is in order...

Excellent. It's got a sweet, vocal, vintage tone. Very expressive. No dead spots or bumps in the tone range. The entire sweep and tone range are useful, no farty lows, harsh highs, or honking or bumped mids. The pedal has unity gain, so there is neither a boost or a loss of signal gain when it is engaged. The organic and "transparent" tone (transparent in that it doesn't disguise the character of your guitar), and the unity gain and good switching make this pedal excellent for peppering rythm and lead playing with wah accents. These attributes make this wah very versitile: use it for all out wah, or seamlessly switch it in and out. This pedal nails the vintage wah tone, better than any wah I've used. I wanted a wah that would do the Hendrix and Clapton 60's sound, and also be a great wah for clean rythm playing, and this wah does both exceedingly well. This is my set-up: a Strat or a Tele to the Teese Picture Wah, to an EH Poly Chorus, to an EH Q-Tron, to a DeltaLab Effectron, to amp, either a Rivera R100 twin combo or a Rivera S120 stack, or a Gibson Falcon for recording. I'm currently playing in a reggae/funk band, and the Picture Wah is great for the clean wah sounds charcteristic of these styles.

Very solid: the case is a Dunlop CryBaby case, all top-notch vintage-correct components, a superior Teese potentiometer, a true-bypass switch, all hand bulit by Mr. Teese. Dunlop CryBabies are pretty bomb-proof, so this wah should be even superior as it is hand-built by a master wah guru. As far as a back-up, I don't think it's needed with this unit. I carry my own gear, and I've already got enough stuff to shlep around without carrying dupIicates; I don't get this whole thing about carrying a backup for every pedal, etc. I carry extra fuses, tubes, cables, batteries, and strings. I check and maintain all of my gear regularly, and I wouldn't bring a piece of gear to a live gig if I didn't have confidence in it. I can't see this thing going down.

Teese is great. He's very accessable, happy to answer questions, quick to respond, cares about the needs and satisfaction of players and cutomers. He's driven to create the best reproduction he can of the Italian Vox Clyde McCoy, and he's really succeeded with this pedal. When you deal with Teese, you deal with the man himself, and it seems to me that he's competely into what he's doing. I would much rather supprt Teese than some big corporation making a mass produced product for a few dollars less, and I'd much rather deal with the actual designer and builder of my pedal that some faceless generic customer service dpertment at a corporation. Teese is top-notch all around.

Works great for hard-rock, blues, funk, and reggae--all the styles I play and use it for....there may be other models better suited for the super-high-gain-triple-rectifier pop-rock, but for traditional wah-wah this is great. I've been playing since I was in short-pants, about 20+ years, and it's the best wah I've had...I've had it for about 6 month now, and I couldn't see playing without it. I would get another one, or maybe a RMC 3, if I lost this one....I thought about this, and the other alternative I've considered for replacing it if I had to would be to find a actual vintage McCoy or CryBaby, or maybe build-up my own from an older wah with parts (that would be a fun project). The price on these may seem high, but when considering the price of the vintage wahs, and the time and costs of building-up one yourself, I think that I would go with RMC/Teese again. The other wah that would be an option would be the Fulltone, and with the choice between Teese or Fulltone you've got two great flavors of great wahs....Teese has the nice touch of looking like an older wah, plus it's a picture wah with a picture of Geoffrey Teese's face on the bottom instead of Clyde McCoy's face--another nice touch (but has nothing to do with tone). If you have the opportunuity to actually play the Teese and the Fulltone side-by-side you should, just to see which one speaks to you more, but if you're looking for a really great straight forward traditional wah, the Picture Wah is it. I can't imagine someone being unhappy in this wah, unless they were looking for a modern modified wah, which is really a different animal. This wah helps me be much more expressive with my playing; I can't see playing wiyhout it, where in the past with other wahs I've had I could take-them-or-leave-them due to the mixed-bag of tone effect that they give (harsh highs, bumped-mids), but the Picture Wah really adds a lot and is very useful for both lead and rythm work, both clean and dirty. Thank you Mr. Teese!

Sound quality is excellent. Switching is quiet. Very vocal, very vintage tone. Very full and usable sweep, excellent tone throughout the range of its sweep. Not harsh on the top, not flabby on the bottom, no mid humps. The pedal is set for a unity gain, so it works really well for seemless switching in and out to pepper your rhythm and lead playing with wah-wah accents. etc. Due to the unity gain structure, quiet switching, and smooth, organic, transparent yet musical and expressive tone, this is a great and fun pedal to integrate tastefully and sparingly, or use full on. If you like a vintage 60's/70's rock and funk tones, this pedal is great.

The pedal seems to be built very well. I think it's going to be as durable as any good Cry Baby pedal. The housing is a Dunlop Cry Baby housing, and these have a good track record. Short of dropping it off of a building or driving over it with a truck, I can't imagine breaking it. The internal construction looks pretty good, simple and clean (although there are some "hanging chads" around the punced-out hole that the gear assembly travels through from the pot to the pedal...this will not effect the function of the pedal, but from a "boutique" bulid aesthetc it's a little odd to see). The only problem I've had with it is with the by-pass switch. Mine is from late 2002, and it has the new switch Teese is using (as far as I know, unless he's changed switches) that has a blue square plastic base (this is not the older and common Carling switch, and I've seen switches that look exactly like this blue switch in some Electro-Harmonix pedals). The switch will occassionally cut-out the signal when being switched. This doesn't happen very often, and when it does it requires another quick stomp to get the signal back, so it's two quick stomps, but it's a random occurance. It's intermittent, and it doesn't happen very often, but when it does it's an annoyance. After contacting Teese about this I was advised to raise the switch in relation to the body (I guess this ensures more force being applied to the switch), but the problem still occurs, plus, when the swtich is raised there is less switching resistance and that makes the switching action too light for my taste. I thought at first that it was me not pressing hard enough on the switch, but it does it with harder stomps as well as lighter stomps. One thing I will say is that it seems to be occuring less than before, so it may be a matter of the switch being broken in, but it still happens occasionally. Obviously I got a bunk switch. This happens, and I don't fault the pedal or Teese for it, it's a faulty component, but unfortunately is does effect the relaibility. I think probably the switch slipped through the switch factory's quality control, and being as it's an intermittent thing Teese probably didn't catch it. If I was to do a high profile gig with this pedal, I would install a new switch. This is ironic as my understanding is that Teese has started to use these switches as he feels that they are better than what he can get from Carling, but I've never had a problem with a Carling switch, and I'll probably switch it out for a Carling or a Fulltone switch when I get around to it. Right now, for what I'm doing with this pedal, I can live with it, but it's annoying, especially on a $235 pedal. I'd give it a 10 if it wasn't for this, but this switch is a problem and takes away from an otherwise excellent pedal, albeit this may be a rare occurance in that I happened to get a funky switch. BTW, other people have complained about the acousitc mechanical noise of the switching, but you can't hear it once your amp in on, so for me that is a non-issue.

Teese is very accessable and communicative, and he does seem to be on a mission to build the best wahs he can. I think he takes a lot of pride in the PIcture Wah (it's got his pricture and signature on the bottm), and the man seems to love what he's doing. He also seems to care a lot about the satisfaction of his customers, and answers e-mails himself and quickly. He did address the issue of my intermittent switch, but my impression was that he's finally found a switch that he feels is a superior switch and he has 100% faith in the performance and faultlessness of the switch. During a few e-mail exchanges where I was explaining how the switch was interemittent he advised raising the switch and that that would cure the problem, and that I had to get used to the feel of the switch (I never quite got what he meant by that). Eventually he seemed to accept that raising the switch wasn't fiixing the problem, and he offered to send me another switch for me to install. I can appreciate that Teese is doing it himself, and I think he's making a great pedal, and I support him. I can also appreciate that he must deal with a lot of anal calls and e-mails from picky "boutique" customers who feel that because they're spending $200+ on a pedal they're intitled to milk the builder's time and attention, as well. Nontheless, he is getting some bad switches (I assume that I'm not a totally isolated case), and it took a few e-mail of collective trouble shooting to finally establish that the switch wasn't working, which adds up to time on my part, and untimately more time to replace it. In the end, though, he will do what he can to resolve the probelm (offered to send a new swtich), and he's there and supportive. Also, when I was considering getting a Teese, I contacting Teese, and he was attentive to the sound I was looking for and recommended the Picture Wah, and he was right-on as far as listenting to what I was looking for a nailing it with the right rcommendation.

Excellent vintage wah tone and feel, probably better than most real vintage wahs. The switch problem with mine is probably not representative of most of the Teese pedals, so I would not let that stop you from using one. This is just a wonderful sounding wah, and it is all that it's cracked up to be. If it wasn't for my particular issue as noted above I would give it 10's across the board. If I lost it I would replace it, but I'd also check out the Fulltone Clyde. Seeing how I'm going to be doing some soldering already to make this wah work as well as it should (replace the switch), I'd also consider modding an old wah to get to this, but for wah that is as good as the best of the vintage Italian Clyde wahs, and brand new and ready to go, I really don't think there is anything out there like the Picture wah.

This is the best wah I've tried so far. I currently own a Vox V847 Resissue and a Fulltone Clyde which are leftovers from my wah search. The Vox is very sweet sounding but is somewhat limited in its sweep compared to the Fulltone and Teese. Also, it's not true bypass and only takes batteries. To me, the Fulltone is a Vox on steroids. It sounds like the Vox but with a larger sweep which gives it more spank. The Teese Picture Wah, on the other hand, sounds a bit darker but warmer with more presence. It just sounds fatter! I suspected the Picture Wah was adding a little gain, maybe even compression, so for further comparison, I popped the back of my Fulltone and increased the bass and gain using the adjustable trimmer. After the adjustment, the Fulltone sounded more like the Teese, but not quite exactly. To my ears, the Teese has a certain raunchiness in the midrange which the Fulltone lacks. Very cool!
A side note: A tried all three wahs into a Banzai Cold Fusion for a clean boost and into a Fender Blues Jr. For some reason certain notes on the guitar would produce an annoying icepick like buzz which went away when I turned off the Cold Fusion pedal. It happened with all three wahs. I'm not sure what's going on. Is this the wah/OD interface problem I keep hearing about? E-mail me if you have any clues. Thanks!

All wahwah's take some time to get used to it's particular sweep, also not just anyone can make a wahwah sound good. It takes practice to co-ordinate what you are doing with your hands and feet, and what u r hearing in your head. I'll give it a 10 to keep the average up. It's no easier or harder than other wahs. I am nuts about hendrix and Iron Maiden basically. This thing gives a VERY authentic hendrix tone, that is to say, it is very vocal and expressive. It has a very smooth sound, and is awesome, clean, slightly dirty, chunky, or high gain. 11 out of 10. The best wah i've used.

Mr Teese is unreal. At one stage I wasn't even considering one of his wahs 'cause they cost to much. ($530NZ) He still advised me of what wahs were good, and which were bad, and what pot to use in my coloursound. I must have e-mailed him 8-9 times, b4 I told him I was buying 1 of his, and he NEVER got grumpy. This man wants you to have a great sound, and will recommend the wah u need. he seems more interested in making great wahs than he is in making money.

I'm the only guitarist in a 3 piece rythym section. We play EVERYTHING. (pub stuff) We do funk, R'n'B, Reggae, Rock, soul, motown. Mostly Rock and reggae/top 40's tho. I've bene playing about 15 years, and for the purposes of this review will state that I am pretty good. I own a colorsound which admittedly does NOT have the original pot. The colorsound while different, does get close to being as good.
Basically, I used it at a gig for the 1st time last night (the day I got it), and I was blown away. My guitar was TALKING man, and I haven't even gotten used to this thing yet!
If you want a great vocal wah, with an amazing smooth tone, JUST LIKE JIMI, then buy this. You'll never want for another wah. If this thing gets stolen (I know karate), then I will be getting one shipped here pronto. Worth EVERY penny! Thank you Geoffrey.

So I'm pretty satisfied, and that's says a lot since I go through a ton of gear. This wah is very vocal with a wide sweep range. It gets all the funk I need, no wah sounds great with Fuzz effects however, unless you like a ton of noise. I think other wahs might be as good in a different way but I can't imagine them being better? Variety is nice but I'm content staying.

This is to clear up an issue that I had with the "Blue" switch. I must have been the VERY FEW that had problems with this switch as I posted below. Geoffrey sent me a new switch made by a company called "Arrow". It still taps lightly, but not as annoying as the one I replaced. I guess I was used to by Budda Wah which was dead quiet. The "blue" switch also had problems when trying to turn it off and on. Geoffrey sent me an Arrow switch as soon as they were avalible to him. Geoffrey states that he would replace the swith free of charge, but luckley my friend builds amps and pedals and installed it for me. The new switch is great! Clicks on and off easily and no problems with turning off and on. Nice feel when switching. Hopefully these switches will be in all the new wahs he makes. As for tone, this wah is the only wah that can produce SRV's version of Voodoo Chile, the Budda was nice, kinda mellow, but didn't have the range and top end that I need for Voodoo Chile. Also, I'm a HUGE Robin Trower fan and it does "Too Rollong Stoned" great! I am gonna get the wah retro fit as soon as I can, I get a squeal when using my TS10 fully driven and my Dino Fuzz squeals at higher settings also. So if your into Metallica like the previous poster, either get the retro fit or the Dunlop Q. Vintage freaks like myself really need to get the PW!

In response to another of Adam's slightly vulgar reviews of my wahs...
Most likely the reason you are not getting the full range of my wahs is because of a probable impedence mismatch - the age-old wah/distortion interface problem. Under "normal" conditions, my PW has a wide range, unity gain, and very vocal sound. You most likely need to stick with a wah that has a buffer inside, such as your DUNLOP 535Q, which is a fine wah pedal. The only other alternative would be to install a FOXROX ELECTRONICS FWR into a non-buffered wah (RMC, Fulltone). The FWR allows a vintage design wah to operate with distortions and maintain the full wah sound. I wish you the best of luck.

I didn't think the Teese wahs are anything special unless you are trying to play old school shit from the 60's and 70's all the time. Maybe then you might think this wah is good. I email Mr. Teese and asked what would sound close to Kirk Hammetts wah around the load/reload era, real robust, and he said "I am familiar with his wah tones. Either the RMC-1 or Picture wah".
I ordered both and I was all excited, until I played them. First I tried the RMC-1 and said to myself "What the fuck, this is a hot-rodded wah!? So I immediatly put it back in the box. Then I crossed my fingers and tried the Picture Wah and it sounded almost the same except there was a volume drop after I stepped on it. I was so disappointed. I thought by all of the reviews by metal guitar players saying how great it was and how vocal it sounded, that this wah was going to be the one. The effect sounded really small and wimpy with no resonance. I barely wahs to be honest. But I was probably setting my standard way to high for a wah model from the 60's. But since I live in Alaska I had to order one just to hear it since no one has them up here. I wasted $60 bucks on having to ship Teese wahs back. Don't just belive the hype, do yourself and favor and try one first.

I am currently using SRV Strat, 2 TS9s (808 specs by Keeley, GREAT MOD!!)sometimes a Klon, Banzai Cold Fusion, MJM Blues Devil (for sale, interested?) or a ZVEX Sho. I first plugged this in expecting my ears to be in tone heaven. Then I remembered, this is a wah, there is very subtle differences in wah, dumby. It was sounding decent, you know, the decent where you go "This is pretty cool, but not $235 cool." Then I broke out the VOX reissue, and the Dunlop reissue and ABed them with the Teese. Wow, only then were my ears in tone heaven. This wah has a pretty good sweep, not an enormous sweep, but a very usable one. Ever heard SRV's "Say What!"? He uses two wah's on this. With the teese you can nail it pretty well. It's very 60's and 70'ish. I was very impressed. I am just afraid that I will start to be one of the dreaded Wah-All the Time kind of guys. I am going to have to try my hardest to avoid that scenario!!

But hey, after gigging with this thing, who knows. I might just have to buy another one if some bonehead rips it off. It's pricey, that's the only drawback. But, if you are a musician, you know that tone will cost you well over thousands of dollars. All in all, a good purhcase so far. Feel free to E-Mail me for any questions, or comments.

This is in responose to Steve Mills' review of 11/20/02.
While "THE SOUND" is purely subjective, there were some inaccuracies in the review. I dropped the Carling switches in January 2002. Since I began using my new switch vendor, there have been only 5 field failures in over 1100 units. The feel of the switch is different from the Carlings, but they are EXTREMELY reliable. Should any (new or old) switch fail, the wah owner has the option of installing one of my new switches or having me do it. The warranty is NOT voided. There are even installation instructions on my site. I was authorized by KORG/VOX as their vintage wah repair station in the early 90's, and I worked with Thomas/Vox wah inventor, Brad Plunkett, to develop my wahs. My wahs are hand built direct decendants of the original Vox wahs, not rip-offs.

This wah has a real vintage sound not like a newer style crybaby. Very transparent, it doesn't muddy up the bottom end it just gets more high end sounding as you rock it forward. It is modeled after the original Vox Clyde Mccoy wah. There has been a reproduction of the original Clyde McCoy from Vox recently called the V848 with the same modern enhacements of the Real Mccoy Pic wah but for $150 not $235. I have tried both wahs, the vox 848 and RMC Picture wah and I prefer the Vox personally. The Vox has a more vowelly sound and the price difference is $85 less. They both have quality sound, but will be more appreciated by the guitarist who prefers a vintage tone. Try them before you buy.

If the switch goes out it isn't covered under warranty or the pot. I think this is normal for most wahs since those are the most likely to fail. If it does fail you probably wont find a Teese switch at your local music store. I think I remenber seeing on the RMC website that if you solder on your own switch it will void the warranty. You have to send it to Teese for repair, I think. It is pretty cool that you can talk directly to the guy who builds them for advice or questions, he responds quickly.

I will keep my reissue VOX 848 Clyde McCoy, this one is going to be sent back because it isn't as good of a value as the Vox and I prefer the real thing not a rip off of the real thing. I play through a Music man axis and a Fender twin reverb and effects like a captain coconut and ts-9 for distortion.

At the end of the day you can say what you like, tone is different for everyone. All I can say is that I've been a professional musician for 20 years, done top tours and played on numerous albums as well as teaching students guitar(100's)and this is the best wah I've ever come across.Another 10 review?Well this is GENUINELY worth it.
Put it this way, when I'm playing I've got this big stupid grin on my face and so has everyone who hears this wah. It's that good.

Classic wah, just plug it in and get rocking. Of course, as someone else on this review list pointed out, there's an art to playing wah-wah. I started out on wahs back in the 60s when guitarists really new how to work a wah in those long jams without them sounding stupid and boring. Seems like few younger players nowadays know how to work them and they end up sounding cheezy. Hendrix was the best wah-wah-ist - listen to Rainy Day, Dream Away on Electric Ladyland to hear how a master does it. Also Cream's White Room.

I mostly play a 1957 tele, a 1959 strat and a 2000 american deluxe strat through a variety of Fender amps, plus one setups with a 50w Sound City head.
My normal effects chain: Visual Sounds Rte 66, on which I mostly just use the compressor side > Fulltone Ultimate Octave, on which I mostly use only the distortion > RMC Picture Wah.
Some folks put the wah at the beginning of their chain. Apparently that's what Hendrix mostly did (obviously not all the time, as I saw him play live in Baltimore once and it came after his Fuzz Face). I've tried it both ways and prefer it at the end as it just sounds much better after the Fulltone UO distorion than before. Also gotta have the compressor before the wah.
For me, this is the one. Other wahs I own include an original Vox from 1968 (which I've put away for safekeeping, and will probably sell one day), a Tech 21 Killer Wah and a Vox reissue wah (648?). The Tech 21 had a bad switch out of the box, couldn't even turn the sucker on, so that put me in a pretty bad mood to begin with. When I finally got it working I thought it sounded really clinical, too big of a tone sweep, too.
The Vox reissue, about a year old, just doesn't hit the right sweep either, too muted and bassy on the low end. Dissatisfied with both these wahs I checked around and it seemed like RMC was the way to go, so I gave the PW a try. Forkin' A, it's got exactly the sweep I wanted. Other guitarists are always complimenting me on my wah tone (and wah technique, too, in which case I just point 'em to Rainy Day Dream Away).
Other wahs I've tried (courtesy of friends) include Dunlop and Buda. No contest.

Seems to be built very, very well. Like the Vox originals, it's heavier than sin, but that's good 'cause it stays put onstage. I've dropped it a couple times, still working after several months abuse. The switch worked fine right out of the box, seems like the Carling switch problem has been solved.
I'd gig w/o a backup 'cuz my gig bag is already too damn heavy ...

When I decided to look at RMC wahs, I wrote to Geoffrey to see which he might prescribe for the tone I was looking for. He could have talked me into the more expensive RMC3, which apparently yields similar tone (but a lot more), but he picked up right away on the fact that what I wanted was completely covered by the PW. He was extremely patient with my questions. Also the shipping and payment, etc, all done online, went off very quickly and efficiently. I'd have to say I got just about the best customer support I've ever gotten on any guitar-related product. The guy seems really fair and conscientious.

I play hard rock, soul, and psychedelia and this wah does it all. If it fails, gets lost or stolen, you can bet I'll replace it, it's the only wah for me. I'd just as soon not use a wah at all as to use one that can't reach the sound of this one, and as far as I can tell no other wah can.
I've reviewed a lot of products on H-C, think this is the first time I've ever given a piece of equipment - esp an effect - straight 10s. Well for me that's where it belongs.

It's a wah, BUT, some people think you can just rock it and be on your way. You really need to use a wah in the way you play your solos or rhythm. When I play a solo,I talk (sing) with my expression of notes and how I want them to be emphasized. I learned this by watching Robin Trower, Hendrix, Clapton, etc.

I have two Fender Strats. 1997 collectors edition with Lindy Fralin Vintage Hot PU's swapped out for the stock Texas Specials. I still like the TS's for getting sounds very simular to Indigenous, he's got a great tone but the TS's sound a bit muddy through my Bassman RI, but OK with my SFSR modded to BF specs. I use NOS tubes ( GE, RCA, Mullards). My other Strat is a MIJ 60's RI that sounds great. A lot of people swap out the PU's, but I love'em and get a lot of complements on it's tone, I tried the Fralins in this guitar and the stock ones sounded better to my ear. Maybe I got lucky. Next guitar is a copper 52 RI tele, all stock (killer guitar). Next is a vintage Harmony "Rocket", great for roc-a-billy as is the Tele. Last but not least is my first guitar that I fixed up, it's a Cort (don't laugh) those Japanese Humbuckers are very warm, bluesy and Jazzy.
The main effects I use are the PW> SS Ultra-Vibe> TS10> NVN Dino Fuzz> Maxon AD80 or Boss DD3 for longer delays, not too bad for digital> (Reverb for Tweed amps)> ( Little Lanelli Spring Reverb pedal for my Bassman RI and Tweed Princeton clone with Weber Sig series speaker.) All George L cables.
Now, how does the PW interact with all these pedals, pretty good. If I max the fuzz I get some squeling, I might consider the wah retro fit mod done by Dave Fox. I'm heavily into Trower and Hendrix, so that's the kinda tone I've been chasing and the PW does a great job. I can actually NAIL Voodoo Chile with this wah, esp. SRV's version. I owned a Budda Wah which wasn't bad but lacked the high end that I like. It's was a very warm wah with less range. Also a Thomas Organ Crybaby which doesn't sound that great, maybe I need to change the replaced Dunlop pot (very short range and no True Bypass), I'm not gonna put money into it when I have the PW. The PW works well with any OD I used it with or clean.

OK, the PW sounds amazing, but I, like some others, have gotten a bad switch. Geoffrey changed the Carlings out because of problems for a better switch that he says will work 99.9% of the time, only problem is it very noisy acousticley, not through the amp. At home playing at reasonable volumes it can be heard and drives me nuts. I lowered it and it still made the noise, so I raised it back all the way up and now I am experiencing off/on problems. I gotta stomp it very hard and sometimes the sound drops out completly for a second. I e-mailed Geoffrey for a new switch and he's waiting on the new ones, I think he said the company is Arrow that makes these. He was expecting them a while back. I recently e-mailed him , but I haven't heard back which is unusual because he always responds real quick, maybe he's on vaction. Other than the switch the pedal is well built and solid with an amazing sound! My friend is selling his RMC 2 and I might buy that because it's also amazing and can cop different wah sounds, or ranges. I wouldn't even consider a backup once the switch is replaced. That's not geoffry's fault, I hope the new ones are trouble free and probably will, I'm sure he's making sure of it this time because of a few complaints and the wah is great other than that, he is the most knowledgeable guy in the wah business, and his reviews prove it!

I talked with Geoffry a bunch of times through e-mail. He pointed me towards the PW after I told him I wanted old Trower tones. He said it has the halo inductor like the old Vox which Trower used (as well as a Tycobrahe wah that I've read he used).
Very friendly guy. I met him at the Philly Guitar Show where my friend bought his RMC 2. Geoffrey did offer to replace the switch with a Carling, but said the one that's in it now is extremely reliable, just got a noisy one:( I'm sure he'll fix me up once he gets them in.

This wah is a great match for the music I play. I've been playing for 17 years, mostly wasting my time on power chord punk rock as a teenager until Trower came into the picture and got me into the blues. That's when I wanted to learn to play. If it was lost or stolen I'd have another on on the way ASAP! I love the range and vocal ability of this wah. It can help me make music when I get into those Hendrix/Trower moods, but I mainly use it to jam with any kind of music such as blues, funk, rock etc. Expensive, but well worth the money. I just hope the switch problem gets resolved and it would be a perfect 10.

Let me tell you a story that makes this look good and me look stupid: I got it through the post on a day when I was pretty tired and immediately plugged it in and picked up my guitar. I was tuning up and thought it was odd that my guitar sounded different from usual, same tone, but more trebly. Messed around with the guitar knobs until the Great God of the Bleeding Obvious showed me my error. But in my defence I claim that despite what I had heard about this pedal, I still didn't expect it to be so faithful to the original guitar tone.
Yes, this thing is beautiful, transparent and totally quiet.
The usual Jimi and Eric are there if you look, but it is so good that you needn't stop there. Yesterday I had it just heel down with a little od and it opened up some more possibilities.
It's after a Warmoth hollowbody strat w. JB jnrs, in the middle of two Keeley TS9s, with a Sweetsound Ultravibe and a Maxon analogue delay into a Marshall JTM30.

This pedal is simple and beautiful and I don't think I could settle for another maker because I can't see what they could do better. It costs but it is quality.
I had avoided wahs for so long because the ones I had tried were all so brash and interfering, this, on the other hand, is sweet and thoughtful but goes as far as you want to go.
By the way, I have it between two of Mr Keeley's (marvellous) TS9s because with the wah first it's what, I guess traditional and you get the expected wah stuff, but put it after and a whole new world opens up, so I have it so I can get the best of both pies.

Just like an original Clyde Picture Wah (one of the "good ones") minus the noise and tone sucking. The Teese Picture Wah is beaming with sound and soul! F.Y.I., I play through the following: Am. Std. Tele, Gibson LP Standard, Marshall JCM800 50 watt 2204/4X12, Jazz Chorus 120, Original DynaComp & Phase 90, TS-9, Ross Flanger, Tube Driver(B.K Butler script era), Maxon AD80, Boss NS-2, MXR 10 band EQ, A/B box.

I play or have played mostly straight-forward rock-n-roll (early, classic, acid, hard, bluesy, whatever you want to call it) and now write alot of my own music. Think Stones, early VH, Floyd, Neil Young, STP, Pearl Jam, Doobies, Beatles, Allman Bros., Aerosmith, etc. I'm 35, been played since 16. I would absolutely buy another if stolen. I tried and/or heard the following before buying: a Vox 847 reissue(I couldn't find the 848 Clyde reissue that Vox now makes), several models of Dunlop Crybaby wahs, an original Thomas Organ Cry Baby, Budda Bud-Wah, a Fulltone Clyde, and a Morley Bad Horsie. I chose this product because it sounded the best. A few of the aforementioned sounded good, some very good. The Teese Wah was better, so I bought one.

Very easy to use. Click your toe down, turn the wah on.
The metal switch that actually does this is a little "clunky" - as stated in a previous review. It's not an issue in a band setting, but playing alone it is distracting - the click, click, click of the swtich barley touching the top of the rocker.

This is where it's at. I use a Epi Les paul with Antiquity PU's and an American Tele with Lindy Fralins through a Fender Twin RI. For distortion I use a Visual Sound JH-1 Ultimate Overdrive (great pedal).
This wah sounds better than everything I've heard..and I've heard them all save the really expensive vintage stuff. There is no spot on this pedal that produces a bad sound. How many wah's can claim that?
Vintage tone. True-Bypass, looks great - this is a great pedal. Period.

Top-notch.
There was a delay in the return of my pedal. When I asked Geoffery about it, he responded right away and told me that he would take care of it. I stressed that I had a huge gig in 4 days and I wanted my PW.
He told me that if I didn't receive the wah that he had repaired and sent out in the next 2 days, he'd build and send me a new wah just for my show. "I won't let you play with anything but a Picture Wah under your feet" were his exact words.
What a guy. That blew me away. For all he knew, I could have been lying. Well, my original wah arrived that very same day (it was the post office's fault all along) and it sounds and feels just like new.
I wish more people would conduct business like Mr. Tesse. He truly sets a shining example.

Great pedal made by a really cool guy. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better-sounding wah...and harder-pressed to find someone who cares about attention to detail like Tesse.
The "clicking" switch is a little annoying (my buddah wah was dead silent) but the tone cannot compare, so I've come to accept it.
It's pricey, but you get what you pay for. Quality sound, quality service.
It really has helped me fall in love with playing again.

let me preface this by telling you that I own the PW and RMC3.
to my ears the PW is a more vocal wah with a sharper Q and smoother highs and more lows than the RMC. I would say that it is much throatier sounding for lack of a better term. The mids are very pronounced.
The RMC3 is a great wah as well. I would say that it is more high fi than the PW. The high end is very detailed. But the mids are not as boosted as the PW. I really like the flexibility of the tweak factor.
Which do I like better? That is a tough call. I think the PW does a much better job at copping the vintage vibe and the RMC3 is better for modern tones. I'm sorry but I can't give it a 10 because I can't get every sound that I would want in just ONE pedal!

Here's the niggle! I guess this would hold true for any wah manufacturer. I have owned my RMC3 longer than my PW, and I give it moderate use and treat all my pedals well with a padded flight case. But the RMC3 on off switch has been intermittent. Sometimes I have to stomp really hard or stomp twice to get the effect to engage. There have been a couple of instances where I switched on the wah and got absolutley no sound. I thought the batteries were dead or that I had a bum patch cord (george L's. It turned out the switch wasn't engaging. For this reason and the fact that if you give me knobs I find myself spending more time tweaking than playing, I decided to get the PW.
Now the PW switch turns on and off just fine. But I think I may have a bum one because it is the noisiest switch I have ever heard on a wah! Not electronic noise, but mechanical noise. I have tried adjusting the switch up and down into the casing but it is driving me nuts.
It is not a problem with a band situation, but when I am at home practicing it drives me crazy!
I think that for wah's this expensive, that these switches shouldn't be an issue. Especially since I don't even abuse my pedals.

I try to play everything from rock, blues all the way to nu metal.
I would say that teese has a wah for every application. Probable most suited for classic tones, But I know my RMC3 does nu metal quite well too!
Been playing too long, but I find it enjoyable. Bar bands, and cover bands mostly. I own so much stuff that I am embarrassed to say. I mostly use a Anderson strat s/s/h into either a Bogner XTC for classic rock, mesa triple recto for nu metal, or an assortment of blackface fenders for blues. I power all my pedals with a Aspect labs Juicebox that is fantastic. Very quiet with no extra noise with the wahs. I don't know if I would buy ANOTHER one. Seing as I have two of them! But if it were lost or stolen, i would probably replace it. All the other wahs seem flat compared to the teese. The Dunlop stuff and vox reissue are nice but don't have that extra mojo. Fulltone was nice too, but nothing special.
I only wish that the PW was adjustable as the RMC3. I hear that rocking daddy's sells the RMC3 with the special inductor that teese uses on the PW. But that is some serious bucks, and I dont know if there will be switch issues.
The PW is a step in the right direction for me. Just play which is why I bought it. Less tweaking, More playing!
Oh well, just my two cents.

Just press on the pedal and you'll be "wah-ing" like a baby. A manual is not included with this pedal. You can go to RealMcCoy website or e-mail Geoffrey if you have any questions about your wah pedal. You won't need to adjust this pedal though, it's set up perfectly out of the box. Just needs a good 9V battery and your favorite guitar/amp combo.

I've used this pedal with my James Trussart Deville, Gibson Flying V, Fender Custom Shop Strat, old Danelectros, etc. through a Matchless Chieftain, orig. '65 Fender Deluxe Reverb, Bedrock Royale, and Crate V508. This wah pedal sounds great through all guitar/amp combinations. I've even used this pedal with my Fender Amp Can and Smokey amps and it still sounds great. This pedal gets that "Voodoo Chile" sound when used in front of my Reverend Overdrive pedal. As another reviewer mentioned, you'll get those "Electric Ladyland" sounds with this pedal which I love. I also like funk rhythms and this pedal excels in that category. You can E7#9 with this pedal all day long and never get tired of it. At low volumes this pedal produces beautifully shimmering sounds with jazz style chords or you crank it up to get that over the top Jimi sound. You can get some really cool sounds when leaving the pedal rocker stationary in the heal positions. The sweep range is just right on this pedal. Not too short not too long. This pedal is very quiet. The sweet spot is easy to find. Very cool sounding Wah pedal.

The casing is built like a tank. The plate on the bottom is thin (just like most) and probably will get scratched and dented over time. This isn't going to affect the sound. I went to my local guitar shop and tried out a Fulltone Clyde, Budda and a RMC 3. Though the Fulltone and Budda were nice pedals I leaned more toward the sounds of the RMC Wah. It sounded more "vocal like" to me. This was the sound I was looking for in a Wah pedal. I expected the Fulltone Clyde "to be the one" based on the Guitar Player Wah shootout article. I actually thought the Budda sounded better for a whole lot less money. I'm surprised that Guitar Player overlooked the RMC pedals in their review. After reading all of the reviews on this website I decided to take a chance on the Picture Wah. I e-mailed Geoffrey on a Sunday and was surprised how quick he was in giving me a call at my home. Geoffrey's a great guy to talk to on the phone. Geoffrey offers up his advice on pedal choices and also gave me some great insights into Wah pedal history and workings. Geoffrey has done the leg work in creating a great sounding Wah pedal and has paved the musical path to greater Wah Wah enjoyment. It's up to you to do the footwork.

The morning after I posted the review below and gave the PW a 5 for sound quality, I had an e-mail from Geoffrey. He indeed ordered the return of the PW and replaced the faulty Carling switch. It should be noted that the sales guy in the shop claimed that the popping/tapping sound was the norm. Also, after posting that review, I was contacted by someone locally who thinks he purchased that PW, also noticed a problem, and returned and exchanged it for one with a good switch. In other words ADM knew that the PW had an issue with the switch but tried to sell it to me anyway by saying that was normal. Minus that switch problem, the thing sounded great so I'm posting this updated review. I have since purchase an RMC3 and I'm VERY pleased with it! (see my review) Geoffrey Teese is extremely serious about customer support and it's very apparent in his e-mails. Plus, he reads HC reviews!

I checked this wah out in my local "mom and pop shop". I currently own a Budda Wah, but I am not totally pleased with it so I am seeking a replacement. I played it through a Fender Strat into some Mesa 2x12 Combo. (I hate Mesas) Anyway, from just about the point I turned it on, I got a REALLY annoying tapping/popping sound when I rocked the wah forward. I have heard of other people having this problem (if you wanna call it that) too. The guy in the shop assured me that when I was in a "band setting" that I wouldn't notice it. I WOULD notice! That didn't make sense to me, so needless to say I left it in the case. It's really too bad, because the wah itself sounded sweet. The shop was sold out of his other models, and I can see why the Picture is still sitting there. By the way the "You wouldn't notice it in a band setting guy" sold me a broken Mesa 5U4G rectifier tube in a Sovtek box. I'm pissed about that! They also sold a buddy of mine 2 broken Sovteks the SAME DAY! It was Atlanta Discount Music. Way to go Bill...

This wah is exactly what you need if you want a vintage sound. The tone sweep is long and even. No extra noise. Nice even volume throughout the entire range. Bypass feature means no tone loss when not in use. Think of the best of the collectable wahs, and this sounds even better.

Geoffrey Teese has built a wah that is solid and uses only the best parts inside. Look inside the wah and you can see how carefully he constructs them. And I doubt anyone knows more about repairs or mods if you ever actually needed it.

He will answer all yuor questions promptly and honestly. He never slams other manufacturers and knows who is using what-just tell him what you want to sound like. He has done mod work for me in the past and his service is reasonably priced and very quick. Read all the other reviews on this site and see what other customers say.

After trying many vintage wahs and dealing with their quirks, and after trying most of the new boutique wahs I decided to try the Teese Picture Wah. It was exactly what Geoffrey described, and exactly what I was looking for. Don't be scared off by the price, how much money have you wasted on the junk, mass-produced wahs? Get one of these and you'll be set for life.

Its a wah....doesn't get much easier than that. Adjustments to the tension of the treadle are made very easily by adjusting a screw inside the body (near the PC board) and the switch can be easily to adjusted to engage with as little/much force as you desire. I adjusted these features to my liking after recieving the pedal and I was on my way.

First let me say that I have only really had experience with mass-produced current production wahs (Dunlop, vox...), and due to my experiences I had pretty much ignored wahs for the past few years. Most were flat, muddy, too shrill, and not vocal in the least. After reading reviews of the Pic Wah, I decided to hunt one down and give it a shot; sort of my last attempt at finding the wah tone that I've heard on recordings that i love at a reasonable price. (I don't use a wah enough to justify shelling out a retarded amount for a nice old Vox) I'm so glad I bought this pedal....It sounds like a wah should sound. Sneering, vowely, growling, "vomit-esque" when plugged into a cooking amp, and liquidy smooth when playing clean (though equally vocal). The pedal, as I believe another reviewer has pointed out, is not a "hot-rodded" circuit, so you won't get a boost when its engaged. But if you want the old-school wah tone, then this is a great pedal. though I have no intention of trying to capture the tone of guitar idols of the past, it is obvious to me that this pedal would excel in doing so.

Construction quality is immaculate. Adjustment is easy. this thing is also HEAVY. Flip the base plate around if you don't want to muss up G Teese's pic on the bottom/serial #. Can't comment on reliability since I just got it, so my rating is for build quality alone.

I only give this product a 9 because, at $235 new, its not a cheap piece. But, at $235, you certainly get what you pay for. I paid $200 for a (barely) used one, and I'm certainly glad I did. Though I didn't A/B this pedal with any other boutique wahs, I've heard a few Buddhas (pretty nice) and plenty of new Dunlops, etc and this is much more "authentic" sounding than those. I'd say that, if the Pic wah is a 10, then the Dunlop 535 I used to own is a 4 and the best Buddha I've heard is a 7.5-8. An excellent pedal.

Geoffrey and I spoke by phone about the wah this was at the end of the day when everyone wants to go home instead He demos the wah over the phone and im sold after 3 min.He tells me he will build one for me
and I mentioned that I know cash is king and I did not expect it to be done till I sent payment. Well I get a Call about 2 weeks later and he says it will be done by tomorrow. I overnighted payment and it was to my door before i left for hollidays this was also past the deadline to ship so i really thought id have to wait untill after i returned from vacation not so It came just in time.
Geoffrey is a great guy to deal with he built one for me without
thinking twice and before the cash was there that speaks alot to me
I know he stands behind his work and I know if i had a problem he would fix it.

I play everything from cream hendrix to zappa
I wanted a great wah and even bought an italian one with
red faesel inductor thinking it was the one.
Nothing touches this wah for authentic tone.
Weather clean or overdriven it is very musical and
transparent while switching on and off.
There is no tone loss or colorings that would make me look elsewhere.
It does not suck tone from the signal either...
I normally dont give straight tens for rating items.
The whole experience was a great one for me and for him to take
my word and build one ahead for me really speaks volumes to me.
Customer for life if you want the tone and dont want to mess around
with tweaking buy a picture wah if you love to tweak grab a rmc3
the only two ill ever have to buy.The rmc3 will be my next purchase
just to have the rest of all those great tones..
let your ears be your guide I did and im very pleased with my purchase.

Serial # P0100234
My gear: Tom Anderson Drop Top Classic - Tom Anderson T Classic w/ Vintique Bridge into: Picture Wah or RMC3 wah, Captain Coconut 2 (Default order), Analog Man TS9/808, Robert Keeley TS9/808 with the TI malaysian RC4558 chip, Fulltone Choralflange, Fulltone Supa Trem, Boss DD5 Digital Delay, Boss RV3 REverb to Blackface Super Reverb w/ WeberVST speakers and Blackface Vibroverb with Eminence 151 15" speaker
This is the Wah!! Period!! I own and love my RMC3, but this wah has something special.
I will attempt to put into words what I hear, although it is impossible to explain tones accurately with the written word.
Extremely transparent : Very Hollow sound, allows the true tone of the guitar through. Even more so than my RMC3. I think the Halo inductor has something to do with that.
Very quiet : Even with the highest of gain this pedal does not really create any noise. True Bypass, so when it is off it does not affect your tone.
Smooth/vocal : This pedal is very smooth throughout the entire range of the sweep. NO piercings highs, enough to cut through, NO midrange spikes, I wouldn't say the wah is quacky at all. The sweep is just very smooth.
The pot has a sweet spot that allows you to do very fast wah without moving the entire range of the pedal.
This pedal loves! being in front of my TS9/808's. Whether one with some slight overdrive or 2 chained for a screaming high gain lead sound, this thing kills. It adds a little volume boost also, when engaged, so it really makes the guitar sound come through. Doesn't do anything infront of my fuzz foot on the Captain Coconut 2, hoping that Dave Fox comes out with an outboard pedal version of his wah mod, cause I refuse to cut wires and start soldering and dicking with an already perfect piece.
This pedal also loves it clean. I have a bunch of Blackface Fenders and it sounds great through em all.
I didn't buy this wah necessarily to mimick anyone, but you definitely can nail the JIMI, Stevie Ray, Clapton/Cream sounds if you are doing that stuff. And for all you working pro guitar players that do corporate/wedding/private gigs, this thing smokes on disco-barry white, etc stuff. Definitely not a One trick pony!
Great work Geoffrey

Top notch parts throughout. Heavy duty casing, switchcraft jacks, impeccable soldering and wiring that is tied off and out of the way, great wah components such as the roc pot 2 (best thing going), carbon comp resistors and the new halo inductor. Hand built. I just don't see how you can do any better?
I did have a problem with a Carling on/off switch on my RMC3, but Geoffrey sent me 2 more and no problems since. I don't get a pronounced click sound like I have read about and I hear he has some new switches on the way so I can't wait to try them.
THe bottom plate is a little light, but I mounted it to my pedalboard so it ain't going anywhere. Also, I turned the picture side over to save it.
I never worry about a back up.

Strat or PRS into Prosonic. other effects are TS9, H20 and Voodoo Lab Trem. My previous wahs were a Morley (stolen in 94) and a Vox reissue (sold in 97). I'd sort of fallen out of love with wah (can make you sound like every other guitarist to ever use wah)...but this will get you back to how good wah can be. The true bypass is a joy.
very vocal like which i guess a wah should be. very expressive, which a wah definitely should be.
as mentioned before there is a slight click when you move the pedal fully forward and just touch the switch. not a big issue, but sometimes I like to not play any notes just move it up and down with a slight feedback...Not noticeable when you're playing regular wah stuff.
A great sounding wah. If you like wah you can't help but love this.
The RMC 3 has a range of sounds but i have enough versatility in this I think. It's varied by what you do with yout foot!! Try attacking the wah in a way different to all the classics.

Two words. It ROCKS!!! or rather it WAHS!!! This is the most expressive Wah I?ve ever heard/tried. I'm not a Wah connoisseur but have a keen appreciation for good tone. I have tried several of the other boutiques Wahs out there and they do not impress me until I heard a friend's RMC 3. I was sold on the tone of the RMC 3 but didn?t go for it because knowing me, I'll be messing around with the dip switches and trim pots instead of playing the guitar so the RMC 3 was out. I personally prefer a stock, no frill, vintage voiced Wah and was not too keen on the hot-rodded RMC 1 or the RMC 2, which offers various tonal options via the side mounted controls. My dream Wah was made into reality when Geoffrey introduced the Picture Wah in July last year.
I've yet to A/B my Picture Wah against my friend's RMC 3 but I understand from Geoffrey the Picture Wah is more transparent tonally due to his new 100% accurate repro tuned core halo inductor that's available exclusively in the Picture Wah.
The Picture Wah nails the classic Hendrix and SRV tones to a T. Very vocal and vomity sounding with harmonically rich overtones. Almost like playing through a talk box. Sounds amazing clean, overdriven or distorted. It feels great as well with very smooth treadle travel. My set up comprises of a Maple board Tyler Classic Strat, Maple board Reverend Avenger, Hamer Sunburst Archtop, Reverend Drivetrain Overdrive , Reverend Hellhound 40/60 combo, and I use only George L?s cables. We?re talking about the best components $$$ can buy. No expense was spared to get the highest quality components for the Picture Wah. We?re talking about carbon composition resistors, British transistors, and Italian capacitors like the original ?67 Clyde McCoy Picture Wah and his new 100% accurate repro tuned core halo inductor. Let?s not forget his ROC-POT 2 pot, which is rated at about 250,000 turns. That?s 100,000 more turns than the nearest competitor. Everything was neatly soldered and the wires were all bundled. This thing is built like a tank and with proper care and maintenance it should last forever. Like Alberto and Vinicio Morales below, I reversed the aluminum cover/plate to protect the ultra cool sticker bearing Geoffrey?s picture, signature and the serial # of my Wah which incidentally is P0100217 and not P0200217 as posted earlier. Playing a Strat type Warmoth guitar s-s-h straight to a Boogie Mark IV. This wah is not noisy at all and has true bypass ( no tone sucking then ). Never tried to get anyone's tone but other users say it's easily possible to get Hendrix's, SRV's etc...
Wah is the effect i most like and i had never felt really confortable with the ones i had tried( dunlop crybaby, vox reissue and Budda, being this the best of those three ). They may sound OK but they lacked something ( not very vocal and bass range unusable ). The first time i plugged the Picture Wah i instantly got in love with it's sound. All the vocal quality was there, it was really smooth all over the frequency range, it wouldn't degrade your tone (transparency )and best of all....it was expressive!!
This pedal inspires you. It's a real pleasure to listen to yourself being capable to make your guitar "talk" with a very very sweet and subtle voice...The nicest wah sound that has come out of my amp by far.

I assure you it will be the last wah you'll ever need to buy. This wah is addictive, makes you want to step on it all the time and you "run the risk" of forgetting your guitar's sound without it. Sounds closer to Electric Ladyland than any other wah I've ever tried.
This thing makes my Fulltone Clyde sound like a 75 dollar crybaby, and I thought the Clyde was great when I bought it. The Teese is deeper, fatter and has a very throaty growl to it. This thing has ended my 15+ year search for the ultimate Hendrix wah sound. I'm using this with a Heritage H-150(like a Les Paul, but thinner) and my modded Marshall JCM 800. I do also use a Fulltone Soulbender, but I get a much more dynamic wah sound going straight into the amp. All in all, a great pedal. Hey! Anybody want to by my Clyde?

Can't say enough good. The only minor complaint is the thin aluminum plate on the bottom of the unit. I'm sure it's fine, just doesn't seem as sturdy as the rest of the unit. Also, I'm worried that the sticker on the plate(with Geoffrey's pic) won't last too long. Too bad, it's a cool sticker....would be better if it were imprinted on the unit. Hey...these are minor quibbles though. Go buy one! It's great if you want the classic 60's wah tone.

I've fallen in love with this wah's clean tone, it's very meaty and very pronounced.
My setup includes G&L Legacy -> Picture Wah -> Marshall Compressor -> Sweetsound Ultra Vibe -> FullDrive 2 -> Fulltone '69 -> Peavey Classic 50-212BT Amp. In the effects loop I have a Boss EQ-7 -> Boss CE-5 -> Danelectro Echo -> Danelectro Tremelo. I also have (which I no longer use)Danelectro Octave Distortion and a Morley PWV Wah/Volume pedal.
Anyways, the Picture Wah has that classic Hendrix/SRV/Cream tone that I've been searching for. I've compared this pedal to the Morley Wahs, VOX re-issue, and the CryBabay Q95. The PW blows all of these pedals away by far.

This pedal is very well built, inside and out. The only minor quibble I have is that I wish the base plate was a little more sturdier. It consists of a thin aluminum-type plate, which is very easily damaged and bent.
This is a solid pedal ---->> thick enough to cave in Osama Bin Laden's head with one blow.

No opinion. Never dealt with Teese. I like what I hear on this website though. The pedal comes with a 5-year warranty also.

Very easy to use. I've owned both the RMC-1 and the RMC-3 and all the knobs and pots were part of the turn off to those wahs. Wah may be the easiest of all effects, just plug and play...

I use a mainly strat type guitars with EMG pup sets. I also own a Gibson ES-135 with P-90 pups. My amps are '68 vintage Fenders. The Picture wah has been consistent with all of the guitars. The pedal is not noisy at all even when shut off. My Way Huge Red Llama sounds great with this pedal, but my Fulltone Fulldrive lost a bit of low end with the Picture wah engaged. There is also a bit of a volume boost to the pedal, but this is not an issue.

Have not owned it long, but the finish on this wah seems rock hard. I cracked it open and the lay out is very clean. The soldering points are neat and fill me with confidence. I'm a heavy guy so we shall see what this pedal can go through. I've had it for 2 months and it's going fine...

Geoffrey Teese has got to be own of the most accesible pedal makers on the planet. You can call him or email him and he will get back to within a couple of days. He is also very helpful in answering questions, never making you feel dumb for asking. $235 was quite a bit to spend on a wah pedal, but he even offered to take the pedal back if I didn't like it.

I play funk and latin jazz. I am a wah lover! My first wah was my dad's '67 voz wah and it was my number one until it was stolen. I've been through ever wah known to man: Budda, Dunlap, Vox, Fulltone, Geoffrey Teese himself and have never been satisfied. Alfonso Hermida from Analog Man modded a a Vox reissue and I was almost happy, but the pedal could not hold up to the constent abuse of the road. the Fulltone Clyde was even better. The tone was perfect, but the throw was soo long I can't see any use for it but lead work at this point. The Picture wah is the perfect balance! I have my wah on all the time so it's an integral part of how I create music. I would bash the head of anyone who stole this pedal with my Picture wah and not even harm the finish!

If you're reading this, then you probably know how to use a wah. Unlike Teese RMC 2 or 3 there are no knobs or pots to adjust. That's how I like it. No manual, none needed. If you need a manual, then you're brain must be half squashrot(that being the better half).

Perfect wah.
The most delicious vocal wah sounds on record/disc IMHO are Hendrix' "Still Raining Still Dreaming", some SRV, and Michael Landau's work with Raging Honkies and Burning Water. The Picture wahs nails all of the finest nuances of those wah sounds. The more vocal human wahs recorded by Cream, Vai, Satriani, Hammet, Grand Funk Railroad are here. I gave up on wahs for years because none sounded great, were noise, and they sucked my guitar's tone. Thank goodness for the Picture wah.
My set-up: usually Sadowsky strat with Kinman AVn pickups or Sadowsky hum single hum -> Carl Martin Compressor (used occasionally and only for clean tones) -> Picture Wah -> Soldano/Caswell X99 preamp -> Soldano SLO-100 -> Daedelus x10 and/or Soldano 4x12 cab. I also take the SLO-100 speaker out to Palmer PGA-04 for recording and the occasional PA board.
No noiser than any other wah when the pedal is pressed to accentuate the treble. Totally transparent and quiet when in true bypass.

My wah needs are set for life. If you want a fantastic wah, then buy the Teese RMC Picture Wah. I cannot imagine anyone wanting great wah tones not liking this pedal. I play classic rock, metal, pop, funk, blues, rarely country and straight jazz. If it were stolen I'd be on the phone the next second ordering two!
I had Morley, Dunlop. The Picture Wah is finally here to cure the wah blues.

This is first in line after my PRS Custom 24, then comes my Captain Cocconut (I'm on the waiting list), to my Mesa Boogie Heartbreaker (100watt head and 2X12 Custom 90s), and last (I'm waiting for Analogman to mail it) a true bypass moded Deluxe Memmory Man in the loop.
Be careful, get a seatbelt, and hold on tight: THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST WAH PEDAL IN THE UNIVERSE!!!!
I had an original Clyde McCoy that I bought back in the early 70s
and it couldn't hold a candle the this piece of ART. I've tried them all, including the new "Killer Wail"(wailing with returned goods)and the Dunlop 535Q. This Wah is the best there ever was, in my opinion.
It nails all the Classic Rock sounds I ever heard, with excellent sound and feel. It always sounds great no matter how you use it (terrific clean and fantastic as dirty as you want).
If you care about your signal, sound quality, true bypass, and being able to go back through time and snatch all the nuances of Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and others (Like Clapton): Do Youself a favor BUY THIS WAH! You'll never need another.

I unscrewed the rubber feet and installed the cover backwards to protect the picture and serial #. This wah will get plenty of use.

I wish I could give higher than a 10 here! Mr. Teese is a "gentleman and a scholar" and indeed rare, for someone with his fame. Perhaps it is because of his passion as a guitarist himself, but he comes accross as knowledgeable yet humble. You couldn't get better support!

For some reason, I often feel disappiontment, or something of a "let-down" when I buy something new and I'm going through the good and bad points. Not so with this wah... there are NO bad points. The price is substantially low for what you're getting in quality and sound!

i use it with an sib varidrive, zvex fuzz factory, and addrock geranium fuzz. it sounds great with all of them! it also sounds great clean. i've never found a wah that i liked until now. the fulltone was the closest, but this thing is the one! its the best wah available, hands down. i've played all the new ones, but i've never played an original. the main thing i was looking for was one that would have a great range and also work with my fuzz and overdrives. well this one done. with any kind of gain, it just squawks and screams. you can hold notes forever and get great feedback.

i wouldn't give all 10s if i didn't mean it. i've hated whas for years. i've heard people use them, but could never get them to work with fuzz's and could never get the range and crazy feedback stuff that i've been going for. as a matter of fact, i haven't owned a wah for over 4 1/2 yrs until now. b/f that i had dunlops and a vox reissue. they were ok at best. i had tried many, many others and they all fell short. this is one is it.

This is the wah I have been looking for all of my playing life. I've owned and do own quite a few wahs of various makes, including a very unique Red FASEL Crybaby that, until now, was the benchmark to which I measured all others. I could never afford the prices going for original Picture Clydes, and I never thought much of the Signature Clydes (no depth). Even still, there is no guarantee that the Picture Clyde you get will have the killer sound of the famous ones we all grew up hearing on record. They varied too. Apparently Geoffrey has taken the time to search out and clone an exceptional sounding Picture Clyde. It's all there, people. The nasal quality of Clapton on "Tales of Brave Ulysses," the squawky quack of "White Room," (if used with an elusive Dallas Rangemaster), the growl and vomit of "I Ain't Superstitious," the explosiveness of "Still Raining, Still Dreaming," the list goes on. The more I play it, the better it sounds.

I play hard rock, blues-rock, classic metal and, as such, needed a wah that could re-create all those classic tones. I can say without reservation, after playing it for hours, that this wah's got what it takes. THE PICTURE CLYDE HAS BEEN REBORN! Don't bother spending $750.00 on a 35-year-old pedal when you can get one that's brand new and sounds killer. One suggestion: for those of you who want precise incremental control of the wah. Loosen up the pedal's top, so it is just on the edge of floppy. This will make it FAR easier to manipulate and will help to get that burpy psychedelic tone when rocking the pedal back and forth very fast.

Simple to use, basic wah wah pedal function. Unlike the RMC3, which allows the user to change tone quality, or the RMC1, which is a "hot rodded" wah circuit, this pedal is a "stock circuit" based on the Clyde McCoy Picture Wah. This is a brand new release from Geoffrey Teese.

My setup is as follows: Alessandro Beagle (EL84 Class A 10 watts/1X12 cabinet with 25watt Celestrion Greenback), Rangemaster, RMC Picture Wah, RMC3+(Custom RMC3 Wah, 1995), MJM London Fuzz, MJM London Fuzz2, TS-808, Ultra Vibe, MXR Analog Delay, 1965 Stratocaster (Rosewood Board). Most of my chain are true bypass, so noise really does not come into play unless several pedals are engaged. (MXR and 808 are not true bypass) I play all forms of music (lots of hard rock, and blues). The Picture Wah is able to match all the tones of "yesteryear". I have owned many "Clyde McCoy's" in my 25+ years of playing and this is a recreation of a legend. The quality of the tone is somthing to behold. In conjunction with the Fuzzes, I am able to recreate any Hendrix tone. ("Voodo Chile" is on the money.) The rangemaster and Picture Wah.. envision "White Room" or "I ain't Superstitious". The secret is that Geoffrey has recreated the coveted "Halo Inductor", and measured and matched the components of an original Vox Clyde McCoy Picture Wah. This inductor along with the carefully matched components gives the RMC Picture Wah its defined sweep range. The attack is very sharp, requiring little foot movement to move through the wah's vocal range. The bass is full and harmonically rich. The midrange sings, and the treble is not to shrill. Even the volume of the wah (when engaged) increases slightly like the original. The tone talks to you! It has tremendous quack and (for lack of a better word) vomit. Geoffrey really has nailed the vintage tone of a Vox Clyde McCoy Picture Wah!

I have known Geoffrey Teese for 7 years. He is truly a gem! I was told to contact Geoffrey by Vox to repair several old VOX Clyde's and V846's back in 1994. He put those units in perfect working order, he even provided output measurements and a disertation, then guaranteed the work for six months! I then asked Geoffrey to make me an RMC3, which is outstanding! Then we got creative.. He designed an RMC3+ (Super Wah). This unit has all the capabilities of the RMC3 with a Harmonic resonance control and other special features and components. The inductor is a prototype "Halo" with an extra lead so the Harmonic can be tuned. Very ingenious work, and what a distinct sound. There is no other like it!! Geoffrey will always be there if a problem occurs with his pedals. He takes the time to hear what YOU have to say, and what YOUR needs are! He is not only a good business man, he is a good friend as well!! I wish I could give him a 20.

If this unit was stolen I would have to get another! With the price of vintage Clyde McCoy's at $400-$700, its great that Geoffrey has REALLY gone the distance to duplicate this wonderful sounding wah. Selling under $250, this represents tremendous value for the money! I love the fact that this truly nails the vintage Vox Clyde McCoy Picture Wah attack, and sound. As I said, I have owned many (I still have a Signature model, Anybody want to buy it?)I tried other boutique companies wah pedals, Budda, Fulltone, etc.. THEY ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE! This pedal allows me to create the music I have always played, and not worry about a delicate vintage pedal breaking or being stolen. If you have been searching the market for that elusive "Clyde McCoy" tone. Look no further, the RMC Picture Wah has arrived.
