never heard a better sounding wha, it's an absolute tone beast! and will make any guitar nomatter how dark in tone, sound like a proper wha! you can even get some really crazy sounds if you tweak it, like yoy yoy and wer wer, ect, works best with overdive and distortion, but works equally well clean, it's a very harmonically rich sounding wha.

Mr Teese is a very friendly man, he gives you 100% commitment, and has obviously spent a lifetime wha ing. His wahs are untouchable, NOTHING is better! for any money, mine was not cheap, but worth every single penny. He even offers to replace any part for nothing! all you have to do is send the wha to him, Jim Dunlop, Vox, Budda, Fulltone, ect Teese are the best, but don't tell your mates! Keep your fx setup a secret.

I reviewed this pedal about 4 years ago, but I wanted to add what excellent customer service Mr.Teese has.
Even with all his backorders and high demand, he still took the time to correspond many an email back and forth with me about a problem I *thought* I had with my RMC 3.
Turns out it was a problem with my Line buffer before the wah in the signal chain. Thanks for never loosing patience with me Geoffrey!

Well it's probably about as self explanatory as a tooth brush. All wah pedals are. But some things I'd like to point out:
While it's very easy to use, finding your personal tone by adjusting the 7 controls in there might take a while. But when you do I'm sure you will be very happy.Another great feature is the added input for an external power supply for pedal boards.

It's got it ALL. After playing with the switches in there enough I found what I was after. Your standard VOX wah pedal is kind of wimpy without much sweep or filtering going on. I had one and instead of buying some replacement parts and doing something I went the Teese Custom route. End of story. Analog goodness tailored to your playing in a solid package. I'm a satisfied customer.
I really think more reviews on here should give out their recipes.
I play typically into reissue blackface Fender amps with different guitars using P-90's, humbuckers, singles, minihums, Filtertrons GFS and other pickups. My recipe:
L @ 9:00
M @ 12:00
sweep fully clockwise
V at 12:00
switches 4 and 7 ON
top screw metal pot at 9:00
bottom screw metal pot at 6:00
The switch on at 4 gives some volume and growl on the bass strings when the pedal is up. The 7 switch seems to give the best balanced sweep for both the trebel and bass strings. The bass gets less sweep but there's some there. There's a good balance with the volume not dropping off as much overall with the pedal up. HUGE sweep and with the pedal down it might be a little sharp sounding for some but I like a pedal that doesn't require a full press to get what you want. You get a great chorus sound when you shake the pedal too. For less High end I think you could either ease off a bit counterclockwise on the sweep pot, or switch 6 on instead of 7, or both.

A little story here: The DPDT toggle that turns the pedal on/off on mine was defective from day one. If you pressed the pedal down enough to touch the switch, the sound would either crackle or cut out. I emailed Geoffrey Teese who seems familiar with the problem. His website mentions that as of late he is using a different toggle, and he mailed me the newer replacement toggle along with a complementary wah pot for my trouble. His website also has instructions on how to replace the toggle. It was easy enough to fix and although some people might score this lower, the customer support was so great that I can't complain much.

It's a wah... a real no brainer. That said, making adjustments is kind of pain, because I have to take it off my pedalboard, open the back, and have a screwdriver handy. The presets included in the manual are quite good, but finding your own voicing takes time. Don't get me wrong... it's a great interface, but it takes time to master. Also, the true bypass switch must be pressed firmly. If you don't press it hard enough, it will only engage halfway and the sound will be half-volume and thin. Could potentially be a problem.

The thing sounds friggin sweet. I set it to the jimi settings and compared it to my hendrix reissue jim dunlop wah and there was absolutey no comparision... the RMC blew it away. I had a noise problem from electro-magnetic interference, but he helped me out (read below) and if I just moved it away from the pedal power it wasn't an issue. My setup right now is this:
Very custom Strat > George L's > Keeley Comp > Sunface Fuzz > Two TS9 silvers > Carl Martin Chorus. Every pedal sounds great with this. You can get any sounds you want. An easy ten, no exageration.

Haven't seen it yet, but it's built like a tank and the wiring is very well done. Wahs take a beating anyhow. I would gig without a backup, as I do with everything I have (save guitar and amp)

I'd give Mr. Teese a 20 if I could. I told him about the EMI problem, and he offered to try out this experimental inductor shielding to stop it. He charged me $25 for the expensive materials and shipping, which is 15 one way. When it didn't work as planned (why I don't know) he told me to send it back, and he'd triple shield it for FREE and send it back ASAP. He later told me he was receiving other inductors from friends in the business to try out with it. He answers e-mails within an hour consistently. A great guy. I really can't say enough. Great support for the duration of his natural life!

I study jazz, but use this for my rock gigs. I play original rock eclectically influenced by steely dan, little feat, stevie wonder, etc. This would match any kind of style that needs a wah, as it's adjustable. I give it a 9 only because it's expensive. If it were lost or stolen, I'd probably buy another if i had the money. But it truely is a great wah, and worth every penny. And what a great guy to deal with! You won't be disappointed.

Just a quick note to say that Geoffrey is the man in this department. My RMC3 had been getting scratchy on and off for a while and I was really frustrated with it. I emailed Geoffrey and he got back to me within the hour with some helpful suggestions. I mailed him the pedal and he fixed it an mailed it right back to me, Priority, for FREE! You can't ask any more than that. His customer service deserves a 20, but I'll give him a 10 because that's as high as this scale goes. Geoffrey, thanks again!

This wah is a total custom version of Geoffrey's RMC3 pedal and it has so many features it can *seem* overwhelming at first, but if you take it slow and get to know what does what, its pretty simple to use. Once you get a taste of how just ONE feature can change the tone, it gives you greater control over your wah tone. Right out of the box it was ready to go and sounded pretty killer. My previous wah was a first run Dunlop 535Q, 18 volt version. At the time, it was the best wah I could find. I rotated the pot a little bit to move that sweet spot more to my liking, tweaked the range, q, and boost for a longtime before I finally settled on a vocal, liquidy tone. It worked pretty well, but it was lacking a little sweetness in the high end. This custom RMC3 is a tweaker's dream...or nightmare depending on how patient you are. But I am able to dial in that tone I hear in my head and more. I give it a 9 simply because there are so many features that you can adjust, it might seem too much for some people.

My rig currently consists of a few heads, a custom Voodoo Amps Witchdoctor voiced to my tastes and a Roland JC120 head which I use strictly for clean tones. Other amps include an ADA MP1 preamp and a flextone combo. My other effects are three tube screamers, a boss chorus pedal, and some others, but I really don't use them with the wah. The guitars I am using are a couple of ESP Explorers, one alder with a diamondplate top and another which is mahogany and just plain black. Both have EMG pickups but the alder one sounds a little sweeter while the mahogany one has a nice low end crunch. I also use a jackson soloist and an alder ESP flying V. I have a few other guitars at my disposal including two ibanez 7 strings, a les paul, and an ESP M100.
Many people buy boutique gear like Teese wahs for their great vintage tone. Many folks love that old hendrix, trower, SRV tone and I do too. But my main style of music is hard rock and I love Metallica. Despite what ANYONE says, Kirk Hammett is one of my all time faves and I love his wah tone. I asked Geoffrey to build me a custom RMC3 wah that would get close to Kirk's tone and you know what? I pretty much have it *nailed.* The great thing about the RMC3 wahs in general is that there are SOOOOOOO many different possible settings that its like having a fleet of wahs at your disposal. I can pretty much dial in any sound I hear and I've only been playing with it for a little over a week. I know it will only get better and better as I get more used to it and understand how each feature interacts with one another.
The wah is true bypass and isn't noisy at all, unlike my 535Q which screeched and hissed.
I haven't tried it with single coil pickups cuz I sold my strat awhile back, but I look forward to that. It does seem to take well to my EMG humbuckers (81 and 60) and I have dialed in my main wah tone accordingly. It sounds different with other pickups like duncans, not bad at all, just different.
When you turn down your volume, it still shines bright and clear. It reminds me a lot of how stevie ray vaughan would sometimes turn down almost so you couldn't hear anything, but sweet bird-like chirps and vocal warbles.
Like I said before, I am mainly into hard rock but also love blues rock, classic rock, etc. This was is perfect for all the genres I like to play.

What can I say? Geoffrey is a great guy. We had exchanged emails off and on over a few months, discussing my favorite wah tones. Some might have brushed off my questions and queries, but Geoffrey was always kind enough to offer help and ideas, answer all my questions, etc.
when I was ready to buy, he was ready to build and I received the wah in great shape, very quickly. Geoffrey stands behind all of his work and offers to repair, mod all of his pedals as long as you don't void the warranty...a class act all around.

Overall, this is a great pedal. I asked for a custom piece and that is exactly what I received. Geoffrey builds each pedal by himself and by hand. He picks out all the parts, assembles, tests, makes sure his product will work for his customers. To top it off, he was willing to make me a custom version of his RMC3 pedal and I love it. How much more custom and personal could you get????
I've been playing for about 6 years now and have learned a lot in those 6 years. I look into everything I am interested in, do my homework and go indepth regarding the current subject. With Teese wahs, I don't know if you can do much better because they are simply magical. If this pedal were lost or stolen I probably would pull my hair out. It's that important to my tone and expression and I would have to immediately commission Geoffrey to build me another one!
What do I like/dislike about this pedal? Well for starters, it pretty much nails the wah tone I hear in my head and have always wanted. On top of that, it can do a whole lot more with the seemingly endless settings. I honestly do not hate anything about this pedal...The *only* thing that slightly was a concern is that when I am in the closed position, it would hit the switch and make a tiny clicking noise. I fixed it and its perfect now.
If you are thinking about getting a wah, ANYTHING that Geoffrey Teese makes is killer!

10, I am giving this score not because it is easy to set up, but because,of the staggering versatility which comes with investing a little time. Great informative, settings on Web sight to get you started. If once you dial a good tone you have a hard time operating a wah, I guess your mamma don't dance and your daddy .....

Ive been gigging since I was 13 Now I am 31, Played in 30 countries 46 states ,yada yada. I am skeptical of Jack of all trades devices, But this thing is just a brilliantly desighned and crafted pedal.

Very cool sweep on the new one.I will not deduct a point because I should have played not just the demo model, But the one I purchased.(I was actully trying a guitar but bought the wah!)

1 thing, wish it had a battery clip so i could tweak it quicker.without the battery dangling.(solved problem with a small piece of duct tape on the inside.) Seriously, this wah stands in its own class.

This wah sounded good right out of the box~!! It comes with instructions so that you can get any wah sound that you want from a Thomas organ to Hendrix,SRV and on and on. The instructions are laid out nicely and are very easy to read and understand. Very nice Job.There can be a lot to tweak if you want but like I said it sounds good right out of the box. You can tweak this wah untill you can't tweak anymore. This is the only wah that I know of that you can make it sound like you want it to not what the factory wants it to sound like. Awesome~!!

This wah is the best wah I have ever played by far~!! I grew up with a King Vox wah and thought it was the best out there after buying many "other" wahs and none sounded as good. Untill the RMC3 arrived at my door step. I took it out, plugged it in, and BAM...sweet wah tone that was the best I have heard. It is quiet as can be. I use this wah with my old 1970 LP Deluxe through my 1968 Vibrolux along with some other boutique gear that took me a long time to get.
I can make this wah do anything I want. from a very lite wah tone to wild wahness. It's awesome.

I play every different type of music you can think of but I mostly write my own. I can make this wah adapt to whatever tone or sound I need. This wah is very inspirational to me. I plug it in and come up with new songs on the spot. Thats when you know you have a good piece of gear.I would replace it in a heartbeat if it were stolen, this wah has spoiled me :-)I have been playing for 22-23 years and it is the best wah I have come across.
Lastly, I would like to add this. I want to thank mr. Teese for all the help that he has given me and all of the time he took out of his busy day to make sure that my questions were answered and that I was happy. In this world of companies that want to make the most money for the least amount of quality that they can spit out it is refreshing to have someone the Geoffrey Teese around to offset that.
Thanks again~!!! I love this wah~!! :-)

This wah is good - make no mistake about it, but I can't score it too highly here because it takes a long time to set up!
There are a lot of interactive controls to tweak, which can make it tough to just play without wanting to tweak.
Others talk about just rocking your foot with the beat, but the use of this wah requires slightly more intuition, because of its adjustablility.

Great Wah. The trouble with most wahs, is that they have annoying resonant frequencies that distort your amp even when playing clean, or they avoid this by being very subtle. No probs here! Just tweak the bass, mid, and induction to dial them out. (or in if you want good old fashioned hendrix) The trouble with amplified music however is that things such as changing amps, rooms guitars etc all affect your tone, and as such I could spend all my time tweaking, and none playing. The adjustable sweep is fantastic, I rarely use too much, but flip all the DIN switches on, and the wah becomes another entirely un-wah-like effect. I haven't tweaked mine for a while, but should probably go back and have a play. My one gripe, is that it can be tough to get a tone that sounds ideal for both clean and dirty playing - inevitable you end up compromising - these things are too expensive to buy two!
Sounds great on bass as well

My wah is about three years old now, and has some mild pot scratch.
I touch it up with WD-40, as recommended by Teese in an email, and this seems to work better than other switch cleaners.
It would be nice if the pot was sealed - dirt makes noise, oils stop noise, but dirt likes oil.......
Mine has the carling DPDT switch, and I've had no problems.
The action on mine is fairy loose, and in order to tighten it any further, I will have to pull the thing apart to add some bishings to the hinge - It would be nice if the tension was adjustable via the central hinge pin, not the pressure lever thing it has - there isn't really enough scope.

Great wah pedal.
It takes a bit of tweaking, but once you find a good setting, you are away laughing. I have a few issues with the adjustablility of the action, and the fact that the pot (which is pricey to replace) is not a sealed unit, but overall this is the only wah I've tied which is tweakable enough to wipe out annoyances, without wiping out tone.
