For me the RMC 3 wah is the best. You can create your own sound. That's what i like.

My setup is: Rivera TBR 1 - 2xS12B Bag End speakercabs - Lexicon MPX1
custom made booster pedal and a compressor pedal by Rjazz and the RMC3. I use a Claim Field 4 guitar. The RMC 3 wah sounds very good in combination with my setup.

I use to own some wah pedals. But as mentioned before, for me the RMC3 is the best. But the Fulltone wah deluxe is also a good sounding wah.

allready stated why. you will not get your ideal sound in 10 mins. In fact it took me about two years till I got it exactly where I want it. Every slightest touch that you give to the trim pots effect the overal tone of the wah. Once you're lost it's very hard to get the last sound back you had before you thought you could get a better sound out of it. In the end it's worth it, but if I have to give this wah a mark for it's ease of use it get a 4.

The most important part of the review. Well it sounds great. You can set the wah pretty much exactly how you like it. I play a Fender CS'69 through a Marshall '67 JMP. I run various distortion boxes in fron of it. Since my RMC is pretty old it has no fuzz friendly technology. This means I can not put the wah directly in front of my fuzz pedals. If I put a non true-bypass box between wah and fuz it works fine. I will not give the wah a 10, simply cause my favourite wah is not to be found in the RMC3. I love Vox 486, especially for it's transparency. This wah is never transparent. I don't like the sound it makes when you turn on the pedal and leave it in one position. You have to keep it rocking. And although you can copy any sound you want, it does have a sound of it's own. If you have one you can easily recognize other RMC3 users by sound.

Built like a house. I have it for 7 years now I think... I only had to clean out the pot once. I used compressed air for that... worked great.

I am not going to give this a 5 because there are so many different settings, only a 7. The plus to internal trimpots is that a difficult to use pedal becomes a very easy to use pedal once its dialed in. I really like the fact that it doesn't have side knobs and buttons (it replaced my Moded Crybaby Q).

It does pretty much everything well. You can go from crazy bass wah to classic tones and they all sound great. I have to ding it 1 click because I have another wah that sounds 5% more awesome (but that wah will remain my secret, I can't have the GAS crowd running its price up on ebay).

Everything works well on the pedal and will last for years of stomping... except the blue paint job. It looks very good and chips like crazy. I reccomend buying a sparkly blue paint pen for touch-ups - you are gonna need one.
Otherwise, the pedal is a tank. Rocker and treadle are top-notch. The pot is also built very well - it sounds exactly like a great old ICAR pot, only it doesnt scratch (ever, its not possible for its construction to scratch unless you crack it) and never needs lube.

Nearly the perfect wah. Does a lot of things very well and is built to last.
If Geoffrey used a more durable paint it would be my favorite wah ever. Instead it is my favorite wah only until I find an old RMC3 with the old hammertone finish at a reasonable price.

Using the cheat sheet that comes with the pedal, it is very easy to dial in an assortment of good sounds. This pedal can achieve almost any wah sound you've ever heard (and many that you haven't), only with better quality. Of course, finding the one you like best is the hard part. This pedal can be shaped to sound like no other wah you could imagine..try flipping on all of the dip switches. It creates a foot controllable synth/mutron kind of effect. I give it a six because it's not exactly plug and play...but that's really the point, isn't it?

It doesn't get any better than this. I've played a dozen wahs, and this thing just sounds amazing on pretty much any setting. My old favorites were always a Vox and a TDK Thomas Organ. The RMC3 can sound like both of those only fuller and more vocal. And that's only the beginning. Mr. Teese has truly mastered the art of wah.

It's built like a tank, and almost as heavy as one. It's hand built by Geoffrey R. Teese himself, using the very best components available. I haven't had it long enough to testify to its durability, but it has a reputation for being indestructible. That's why I got an RMC...I was tired having my old Thomas organ fixed every year.

To say that Geoffrey Teese's customer service is excellent, just wouldn't do him justice. Not only is he one hell of a nice guy, but he answers the phone himself and returns emails immediately. My wife called him 3 days before my birthday to order an RMC3. She really didn't know what she was buying or who she was buying it from, she just followed my blatant hints to his webpage. He told her that he liked the fact that she was doing this for me, and that he was going to build the pedal as soon as he hung up the phone and put it in the mail that day. Well, it arrived in time for my birthday, and before he even received the payment. I don't know of many people that would do that for a perfect stranger; (yes my wife is perfect :) She did after all buy me a Teese Wah. I've since emailed Mr. Teese about setting up the pedal and he usually replies within minutes. Geoffrey R. Teese is officially the shiznit!

I play a mix of classic & "modern" rock with a lot of blues mixed in. No matter what style of music you play, if you use a wah, you will LOVE this one. I've been playing for over 20 years.
I use a variety of guitars, (mostly Fender), into a dizzying array of pedals into a '73 (black-faced) Pro Reverb. I love this pedal! If it were stolen, I would definitely by another...(unless I found out who stole it, in which case I would hunt down and kill them and their family and take my RMC3 back..so let that be a warning to you!)...but really I LOVE THIS WAH!
The great thing about this wah is that when I feel like a change, I have infinite possibilities to explore. Most wahs are one trick...this pony dances all over the place...and then some. I have played played a dozen wahs, and never liked one as much as I like the RMC3. Thank you Mr. Teese for designing such an incredible product.

How easy is it to get a good sound? Very. Sure, you can open up the back and tweak, but it sound great out of the box. To me, that is the quintessence of easy use.
The internal controls can take you into very unique tonal landscapes. Some of the settings may not be for everyone. But, the all sound great. And here is the thing: This pedal allows you to create your own unique sound. We all know how hard that is, but this pedal makes it easy to find it.

I've got absolutely no issues with the sound quality of this pedal. It is lush, harmonic, deep, and with none of the harshness I've had with other wahs. Yes, there is some hiss when using before a comp and OD/Dist/Fuzz boxes, but it is not nearly as obnoxious as other wahs. And yes, I have tried it with all of the DIP switches on. It sound strange, but it doesn't sound bad. I love this pedal. God bless you, Mr. Teese.

I feel I can. The pot in my dropped out of the harness after about a year's worth of use, but that happens, and I'm not worried about future use. It's built like a tank, but you do have to regrease the teeth every once in a while. Keeping it clean helps too.

Man, if I had any doubts about writing a review, Mr. Teese's customer service got me off my *** to do it.
I sent this pedal back to him twice. The first time, just after I got it, was because I couldn't get any sound out of it. He took a look at it, upgraded the pots, but said he couldn't find a problem with it. Of course he couldn't, it was my fault for not plugging the cable in all the way (I have some custom cable). But he still upgraded and cleaned the components for me, free of charge.
The second time I sent it back was about a week ago. The pot had dropped out of the harness, and I am no electrical engineer (you may have noticed). I wrote him, and even though it was just outside the warranty limit, he said to send it back and I only paid for shipping and return. He had it back to me in about 5 days, with shipping. Great support, great service.

Well, the "10" says "Fantastic Value", so let me clarify. Yes, this is a $285 pedal, and that is expensive. But, I have closed the part of the quest for my tone; I have a wah pedal that I will likely neither want to replace nor have to replace.
Geoffrey is a man on a mission. He asked why current wahs don't sound the same as vintage. He tracked down the former head engineers for the old wah producers, who have since gone out of business or been acquired by larger producers. He asked the questions, got the answers, found copies of old schematics, and when he discovered that some of the parts were no longer being made, he sought out the former head engineers for the PARTS companies. After building a working model based on what he learned, he continued to innovate it, making it better and more versatile. A wah from Geoffrey Teese will be a vintage wah someday, a collector's item. But I don't want that. I want a wah that sounds great, and that is exactly what he has done.

I had an RMC3 many years ago and it was great, thick grinding wah tones and warm. I sold it to my friend several years ago for various reasons and recently (right when the blue color came out) I bought another RMC3. The moment I plugged it in, I knew it sounded different - smoother, with less grind. No matter what I did with the settings, I can't get that tone I had with my last rmc3. Why? who knows - globally sourced parts, cheaper parts? I have no idea.
The wah doesn't cut through - it doesn't maintain its strength especially when using fuzz or distortion. My previous rmc3 grinded, wailed, and cut right through my tone, this one seems to get lost (no matter how I tweaked it, and the previous one sounded great with factory settings or whichever way I tweaked it, the new one's overall tone is just lacking).

Little spots of paint keep chipping off of my wah. I've never gigged with it and the thing stays on a padded carpet away from other pedals, I barely use it, yet every so often I see another spot the paint came off. NONE of my other pedals have paint chip off (scratches yes, but no chips). Functionally fine but rarely use it (due to sound quality).

I called or emailed Geoffrey awhile ago about the paint issue and the guy seemed in denial. I repeatedly told him I barely use it and don't gig with it, and it is the only pedal I have where paint has chipped off. He claimed that was from use (even though I told him I didn't really use it, it just sits in the corner). Eventually he stopped responding.

This new RMC3 (blue one) sucks. I don't know if the parts changed with the color or it happened longer ago, but the grey one I bought maybe 7 or 8 years ago sounded way better and didn't chip.

Pretty straight forward, simply adjust settings with the internal trimmers, find your tone and let her rip. I'd give it a ten, but I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that would be perplexed by the DIP switches and dials. For those people there are a lot of GCB-95's on the used market very cheap.

It sounds amazing as always, I've owned 3 RMC wahs now and the sound quality is never an issue. Even great for the excessively fussy new age tone hound, no hissing like the old VOX italy's. Perfect for the studio player, and anyone who appreciates have a flexible effect pedal for any situation. I like the new switches Teese is using as the do not have the usual audible "pop", it's a nice update from my '98 RMC 3. This pedal works well with any combination.

I'm giving this area a 7 as the new pedal now has a cheaper casing , input jacks soldered directly to the board, and ECU style wiring harness. I can see this being a big problem down the road. I was really disappointed when I saw the pedals had changed to a different casing, finish and internals. It's now painted up like a street walker on 5th and main in a very thin blue finish that will chip if you look at it wrong, and the top treadle is much weaker than before. If it went missing I'd replace it with another older version and just update the switch. I guess everyone has to cut corners at some point, but I had hoped the RMC would be the exception.

This is THE BEST sounding wah pedal, however it is not as solid as the older versions thus the 8 rating. I know this will insult a lot of Teese owners with this current pedal however if you've had every other version you would have the same distain for this one (Blue 2008). I would have a backup while touring or using it heavily for local gigs. I paid $285 for my original RMC 3 and I would pay the same if they were still made as well. The new unit's sound is priceless, but the parts and assembly $165 tops.

Wish the wah shaping parameters could be adjusted without having to open the unit. It's a pain to take off the bottom, adjust, set it down, try it out, pick it up, readjust etc... especially since different sounds, distortions etc. may require a different set of parameters. It would get a 10 if you had accessible switchs/pots you could adjust on the fly.

Used with Mesa Triaxis into a Simulclass 290 with G-Force in the Triaxis effects loop direct into a mEsa Rectifier 4x12 cab (4 ohm stereo). I place the wah after an analogman "Bi-Comprossor" then straight into the pre-amp.
It still has the high-end hiss which is virtually unavoidable in wahs, far less obnoxious then your average wah though.
Much better bass response than my vintage Morley Power-Wah-Fuzz (optical wah), less of a throw on the pedal though thus smaller foot movements give greater tonal variation (may be seen as a plus or a minus depending on what sound your looking for, wide shimmering is harder to maintain with nuance, but classic chucking is a breeze). Has a richness to the wah sound undoubtedly attributable to higher quality components and well though out design..but it does alter tone some when the wah is off and true bypass is engaged, but not unpleasingly or obnoxiously so IMO (subtle).
MAJOR PROBOLEMO: The main potentiometer was very scratchy making the unit unsable for recording. I called Geoff who recommended WD-40 which I applied and it gave a very temporary fix. Pot still scratchy. A unit that costs this much should not be shipped with a bad pot. It will need to be replaced. I haven't addressed this with Geoff yet...kind of pain.
Has true bypass thus beware of use with real long cable runs.

Seems solid enough. No bulbs to burn out (as opposed to the Morley optical wah). Sturdy unit. Of course I haven't dropped it yet and it hasn't been subjected to road rigor so use this rating accordingly.

I play an eclectic blend stewed over years of listening to many different kinds of music. This wah is not the be all end all I was hoping for but is still a BIG improvement over standard issue wahs.
If it was stolen I might replace it...it is kind of pricey, though not when compared with a Cornish unit.
I love its adjustability...do sometimes wish for a longer throw and on the fly access to the wah shaping circuits... I dream...

I tried it with my Fender Super Reverb and my Blues Jr. It It sounds great with
pedals like Fulltone OCD, '69, Fulldrive II and BJF Honey Bee. It??s has a very smooth
sound. I had a hard time to decide which one I should get but Geoffrey told med the
RMC-3 could sound like all the others except his latest Walsh signature. With that in
mind I didn??t have to think that much anymore. I wanted the wah to sound like my very
old Colorsound wah and it sure does. I also have a Fulltone Clyde Deluxe which is really good
but it doesn??t work with my gear as good as the RMC-3. It sounds great with clean sound and distorted sound.

I'm using it with a german amp from the 70's and with the Effectrode Tube-Vibe(awesome pedal - the best univibe from the market). My guitar is a Vigier Expert Retro '54. The pedal isn't noisy. I heard that Picture Wah from Teese is also outstanding... so go for it and don't look for something else... the work that Mr. Geoffrey Teese did is a detective work... he took the best from the vintage wah pedal and made it available for us...
