step on it and rock you foot. if you can't do that then don't buy it.

Sound Quality : 10
works really well with my dr z rt 66 and my fender super reverb. i needed a wah that would work with a fuzz and with overdrive. many lower quality wah pedals wont work with a fuzz pedal. i use 2 overdrive pedals. ibanez ts808 and a jetter blue and an angry fuzz by virtual sound. it works great with all. it cuts through the mix with a great sweep. the only other wah ive used is a crybaby so i don't have a lot to compare it to but i researched this one a lot and i'm happy with what i got.

the switch broke after about a year.

Customer Support : 10
customer support is the main reason i'm doing this review. i feel i owe it to geoffrey because he got back to me immediately and was really nice about it. he sent me a new switch, which i received in about 3 days and it was really easy to replace and works great. i've never had better customer support. he also checked to make sure there were no updates on the pedal. AWESOME!! i'll never deal with any one else when it comes to wha pedals just because of the aweomse customer support (and the great sound). buy one!

Overall Rating : 10
i'm in a jam band / blues band and it works great. i've been in bands for over 15 years and if it were lost, i'd buy a new one immediately.

It couldn't be simpler to use. I mean seriously.

Sound Quality : 9
This is a fantastic sounding boutique wah, very vocal and musical, it really leaves your tone alone and shapes the sound. It isn't shrilly or very boomy, and it works well with high gain. If you want a Wah that works with your sound and you don't want a Wah sounding like a bad *****, I would get this. There's a reason why Joe Satriani used this bad boy. My only beef is when using it in a quiet environment like a bedroom and not stage or studio you can hear the top hitting the switch when you rock it all the way forward.

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank. I would easily take this where ever.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't dealt with needing to contact Mr.Teese, but he gives you his e-mail right in the paperwork, and from what I hear he's very nice.

Overall Rating : 9
Fantastic Wah for High Gain situations with high output humbuckers, great for instrumental work, prog, metal, Shred etc. Probably not the best for Blues though.

very simple. no extra trimpots or anything, just click it on and go.

let me start by saying i bought this wah a couple of years ago, and its been sitting in a closet since. ive been building alot of wahs, most of which are far superior to those on the market, at any given time. one day i cracked open the closet and found a whole mess of stuff, including this wah...i plugged it in to my modified 6505+ (i call it the Eclipse...as opposed to my Sunshine Wahs) with my ESP DV8, and my jaw DROPPED. im a big satriani fan, and ive always wanted a wah that swept from a fat low to a perfect top end, without becoming too bitey. alas, this wah did it. after building hundreds of wahs, who would think that this would be my favorite? im not on Geoffery's good side, nor do i really care. (ill give you 1k when im famous, how bout that?). i admit i did a review some time ago on this wah that was not all that good. ive since developed an appreciation for certain wah tones.

this wah is amazing. it cuts through, and its silent, most of all. i kid you not, ive built ALOT of wahs, and have owned wahs that are worth up to $1000 alone, this is THE wah for me. yes, im a thrash guitar player. this wah may not work well for the blues purist, but i highly doubt that a modern blues purist would be playing anything that isnt $800...

ive sent plenty of business in the way of Teese, and plan on buying another wizard wah, since the one i have is in the grey hammertone finish...i really wanted a red one. but hammertone will suffice...well, maybe one of those nifty blue ones will rock the boat...either way, this has become my favorite wah of all time. not for everyone, sure, but that doesnt matter to me...

Reliability : 10
i understand how wah pedals work. if theres a problem, ill get it fixed. the most common problem seems to be worn pots, or dead batteries.

Customer Support : 9
hes quick, and he really is a nice guy. hes helpful to the amature DIY community and he takes himself very seriously, which is an admirable thing. i could see why hes got a hell of a reputation.

Overall Rating : 10
ive been playing for about 10 years. i play heavy, thrash metal. ive been building wahs for a couple years, but once in a while i get the urge to buy stuff...teese is hands down the most innovative builder around. ive built clones of all the easy, "not-worth-$400-crap" simply because i cant justify spending that kind of money on something worth 30 dollars in parts. but teese has always been different, because he puts alot more effort into his designs. i mean, he invented the switchable wah design, after all. ive owned a picture wah and a RMC3 wah (which was lent out...and never given back...), and i LOVED my rmc3 wah. it did everything i wanted it to. and ive yet to hear anything like it. you can buy the newest and latest boutique wah builder's piece of shit all week long, but never will they hold a candle to Geoffery's innovation, ear for tone, or overall reputation. lets face it, he is THE wah guy. im not kissing ass, im just telling it like it is.

Not much to say here. Standard 'original' toeswitch wah design with no adjustable parameters or other knobs/kick-in boosts, etc etc etc. I find it easy to us, and my old wah, which was my first, is a Morley Power Wah, and the switch is at the side, making it annoying to switch on. I took to this like a fish to water - great. According to Geoffrey, the wah was made in 2005. More on that later.

Sound Quality : 9
This is a really fantastic sounding pedal. Really, really good - I'm glad I took the trouble to buy an RMC instead of ordering a mass-produced Dunlop (I say that I took the trouble, not that I spent the extra money, as the price difference between Dunlops and RMCs is negligible, and some of them cost more than what I paid for this - the closest in price is the 535Q). It's got a very wide sweep, and a wonderful smoothness, with so many sweet spots - Great tones to be had across the board. It is not very bright at the top, compared to many wahs. (I like this - The only drawback is that it's not so good for funky clean stuff, which I don't really do anyway). There are plenty of overtones to be had, and it sounds really good cocked. Another thing that really makes if for me is the fact that it has amazing definition, and will produce a defined sound with lots of gain. It could be a 'wetter' sound, but I'm happy - I'm sure I'll get a better sound (If that's possible) once I've got a better amp. It's not noisy, which is a blessing. I use an Ibanez RG1570 into the Wizard, an Ernie Ball VP-JR, a Boss SD-1, a Marshall GV-2, and a Zoom 505II, which I use as a cheap delay. I use various amps, whatever is available to me (I play in my church band), mostly using a solid-state keyboard amp - I only own a practice amp, as I'm a student (of politics), and (particularly as I have no job as yet), haven't the money to purchase a nice valve/tube amp, nor the facility to use it with the volume above 1, unfortunately. I feel that I should probably dock a point for the fact that it's not the best for cleans, but I also think it wouldn't be a Wizard without this. If I ever play funky clean stuff regularly, I shall consider the purchase of a Budda, or something else that's good for those sounds.

Reliability : 10
Looking inside the pedal, it's tidy, and the jacks aren't PCB mounted (a pet dislike of mine). I don't anticipate any problems. I have yet to play any big gigs, and have never taken a backup, although I have my old Morley, which I would use in that instance. Not had any problems gigging without, and more than happy to continue to do so. There isn't a section for the finish, but I shall say here that I was a little disappointed to find couple of paint chips. I didn't consider that worth sending the pedal back to Geoffrey (I'm sure it won't stay pristine, however well I treat my gear). Besides, it would have been costly, and taken ages (I'm in the UK), and it sounds great, which is what matters.

Customer Support : 10
Geoffrey's customer service is simply fantastic, it's practically inspiring! I emailed Geoffrey about the age of my pedal, and an hour and a half later, he replied, answering my query in full, in a friendly manner such that I rarely see anywhere else. That is what customer service is all about. The man deserves much higher than a 10!

Overall Rating : 10
I love progressive metal and shred (Dream Theater and Steve Vai, although I can't play any of it :P). As said above, I play in my church band, and also play rock and metal, as well as having a love of the blues. I like to crank the gain on my distortion for a nice (as I can get with my amp :-P) thick tone with plenty of sustain, for solos and leads. It's perfect, and adds a new dimension to my playing, and inspires me to approach things differently and expand my musical horizons (what every good piece of gear should do). I was thinking primarily of John Petrucci's tone when I envisioned what I was looking for in a wah (Try his solo from 'Voices'). I've been playing a while; since my mid-teens. I'd definitely replace this. I've listened to Dunlops and Voxes, and own a Morley, but wasn't quite satisfied. This definitely does it. Much recommended!

This one's a no-brainer.

Sound Quality : 10
Compared to the Budda wah (which I also own by the way) the Teese WW has a far more musical range of singing voice. Yes, this wah not only 'wahs' but it sings when played with distortion! The sweep is very wide and satisfying with no jittery leaps in tone like the Budda (which tends to have a pronounced mid-range honk in the highest sweep position). As soon as I plugged this wah into my Mesa/Boogie Mark IV amp I was in pure, crystal clear tone heaven! There is no limit to the musicality that can be achieved with this instrument. I found the low and mid sweep ranges to be very meloncholy, even 'haunting' as Teese describes, and when you hit the high end you hear all the lovely harmonic complexities you have come to expect from top-or-the-range wahs. This pedal is by far and away the most instantly gratifying piece of gear I have ever owned. As soon as I plugged her in I knew she was the one for me. Outstanding!

Reliability : 10
The body looks very rugged and the construction looks well put together.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No complaints so far.

Overall Rating : 10
If there was one pedal I could keep out of all my gear (and I own everything from Keeleys to Buddas) this would be my desert island pedal, without a shadow of doubt!

Its a wah, of course its easy to use. Not only that, but the switch is so smooth and unlike anything I've used before. the sweep and range of the wah is also really sweet.

Sound Quality : 10
i play original rock in the vein of hoobastank. This wah cuts through like no other. After gigging with this wah and hearing actually hearing the whole sweep, my dunlop rack wah is going up for sale!

the tonal range is superb for the style of music i'm using it for. The other awesome thing about this wah sweep is very very smooth.

The other awesome part is the wah switching mechanism is almost totally silent, no crybaby "pop" when you kick this thing on!

Reliability : No Opinion
Its survived one gig. However I did take it apart to see the insides, and it looks pretty solid.

i can't however comment on the reliability, however, I don't feel there will be any issues.

Customer Support : 10
I've emailed Geoffrey a couple times when I initially looked at getting an RMC wah. I told him what style of music and he recommended the wizard.

He's a really open and honest guy, and he stands behind his products.

Awesome to deal with!

Overall Rating : 9
As stated earlier, this wah is awesome. My rack wah is going in a box and being shipped out later this week! I've been gigging for a long time now, and i've played and seen alot of great gear. I bought the wizard on a whim expecting to compare it to the rack wah. However now that I've played it, I'm convinced this is THE wah. I will definately buy at least one more wah from Geoffrey this year.

The only kicker about the wah is the fact that there is no indication of when the wah is engaged (ie. an LED). I spoke with Geoffrey about this, and he has this reasons, which I understand and respect.

All in all, the sound quality of this wah, and how it sounds great at any gain stage, coupled with Geoffrey's kick ass support, you can't go wrong. I highly recommend this wah to anyone in the market for great wah tone!

Load a 9v and plug it in. No tweaking involved. An allen wrench is included to adjust rocker feel/tension.

Inside, a PCB trimmer controls FFT output (slight volume boost + enhanced lows).

Sound Quality : 10
Stunning! After 20+ years, I've finally found my last wah pedal.

This thing just oozes lush tones. The slight volume boost adds a nice saturation to leads, with zero harshness on the top end. I love vintage/overdriven tones. Over the years, I suppose I've become a bit of a snob when it comes to guitars, gear, tubes, etc. Out of the box, the Wizard really impressed me. Whether clean or dirty, my current setup really required no tweaking or adjustments, and it sounds amazing with both my LP and my Tele (single-coil). Fans of Frusciante will want to give it a test drive.

This is exactly the way wah should sound - no more - no less.

Built like a tank, but I can't comment here after only 2 weeks.

I've had no problems, but I did have several technical questions. I received replies within 30 min. I really appreciated the help/advice.

My hats off to Mr. Teese. After waiting 4 months to finally get my foot on a Wizard, it truly was worth the wait. Really nothing I've played sounds as thick and juicy. In the end, it delivers a quality/character that is just not inside the others.

nothing like the RMC3. just make sure you got a battery in it, thats all.

Sound Quality : 4
well...ive been kinda of spoiled with wahs. ive got the RMC3, and its set at a "picture wah" setting with a little more girth to it, and an Area51 wah with NOS tropical fish caps (ive got HUNDREDS of fish caps!). ive also got a 66 clyde. they all sound great.

heres my basic setup

guitars (all X2N bridge)>WAH>Landgraff Dynamic OD>JSX>marshall 4X12.

i prefer high gain, metal tone. i play leads from here to new york. and the wah is to me what the BBQ is to man.
ESSENTIAL!

this wah is good, but a little too dry for my tastes. i really think fellow metal heads should try out an AREA51 wah, for the harmonic "sparkle" missing in the wizard wah. teese is a GENIUS. but this wah is just too dark to be considered a "high gain wah". sorry, but i just dont like it.

Reliability : 10
how are they not reliable? its a wah. the casing is bullet proof, and the damn thing runs on batteries, not sunlight.

Customer Support : 10
i hear its good. but i dont think a gentleman like Teese wants to hear any complaints.

Overall Rating : 5
i play real metal. like megadeth and iron maiden. its a good wah, but just missing something. i had an RMC picture wah, but sold it a while ago. so im not so sure how it compares to my AREA51 with trop fish caps. this wah is just not for me. i suggest you try out a few wahs before having your heart set on any one. i must have gone through close to 100 wahs in the past 5 months. so...it isnt like im a newbie to wahs. been playing for close to 10 years. this wah is just a little boring for me. glad to hear Satriani using it though! suits him better.

Straight foward. May need nut adjustment for on /off sensitivity. You can alter the height of the on/off swith to suit your preference.
The battery is a little hard to get to, instead of a clip on cover you need to unscrew 4x bottom plate screws, no big deal!

Sound Quality : 10
I use this with a EVH Musicman (std. humbucker in bridge, humbucker from hell in neck)The neck pick up sounds just like single coil. Running through a 100b Bogner Ecstacy and V30 quad.
Sounds great on any type sound. Cleans sounds get a real wacka wacka, especially on the neck single coil type sounds, puts a grin on my face every time.
I don't use clean sounds much, I'm more into EVH, Lynch, Vai, Eric Jonson etc. I bought the Wizard for that reason. I replaced a Morley wah with this one. There is no comparison next to each other the Wizard is alive, dynamic clear and smooth. Like the difference between a cheap cheesy multi FX to a studio pro FX. In bypass mode the Morley robs your tone it compresses the signal losing tops, bottoms and gain. The Wizard has a true bypass so there is no signal degeneration. The sweep is also different, the Morley needs to be rocked full sweep to hear any type of effect where the WW has a massive difference where you only need to sweep slightly to get the same effect. If you leave the WW in the heal position on the neck PU it sounds like a synth, awesome! Very musical, I could go on but it's all been said in the other reveiws

Reliability : 10
It is built to last, heavy duty casing, proven 30 y/o design. 5 year warranty.

Customer Support : 10
Before buying the WW I read up on all wahs, as well as reading Harmony central reveiws. I emailed Geoffrey a couple of times trying to find a wah best for me. Both times he emailed straight back, offered me all of the info I needed and was extreemly helpfull. Great guy!

Overall Rating : 10
This wah is truly inspiring, I can't find a bad sound. It's like adding another dimension to your playing. I have been playing for 30 years. My old wah used to just sit there collecting dust. Not this one. The only thing I wish it had was a light to show when it is engaged. I can live without it though. Great value for money, it costs more than the Morley but well worth the extra. I chose this mostly from reading reveiws on Harmony central, thanks guys. I narrowed it down to Budda, Fulltone and RMC. I did't want a fancy gizmo with bells and whistles, just a straight foward wah. I'm glad I chose this one!

As easy as it gets! Step on it and be amazed at the sound.

Sound Quality : 10
I've used a lot of wahs and this one is the most musical and versatile. It's so smooth and the sweep is completely useable. There are no "dead" spots or annoying tones. The lows are deep and sweet. They never get muddy or undefined. The mids are perfect and the highs are never shrill or ice-picky. It's a really balanced sound and works great with my humbucker guitars. It sounds equally great with single coils. I use heavy tones most of the time and this wah works perfectly. It's balanced beyond belief.

Reliability : 10
Very reliable. No issues whatsoever. The jacks are tight. The inside work is clean and the power jack does it's job! Excellent all the way around.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never needed to contact Geoffrey for any reason so I really can't comment on his customer support. I've heard he's great. I bought the Wizard Wah based on reviews from here as well as reading up on it thru Analogman's website as well as Stompin-Ground's site. I ended up buying it thru Stompin-Ground's site and that transaction was as smooth as they come.

Overall Rating : 10
I'm very proud to own this wah. I'm always asked about it. I think the red color grabs people's attention. Once they hear it they flip. They want to know what it is and go on about how great it sounds. It's bad ass! Period.
