Simple! Thats why i bought it... I don't know alot about wah pedals so i wanted one that sounded good out of the box. No user changable settings, no extra knobs, just an awsome sounding wah.

I use Ibanez RG 6 and 7 string guitars as well as a Gibson SG thru a Fender 57 twin or Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier. This wah is exactly as described on the RMC site. Very useful on all fronts. Its excellent for high gain sounds like the wah sounds heard on Godsmack albums. Going thru a FOXROX Zim overdrive pedal i can get an unreal Steve Vai wah sound and thats how i use this pedal the most. It still sounds really good thru a Ts808 for a blues type of thing, but not as good as the Picture Wah. The sound of this pedal is truly best described as "smooth" and i'm sure you've read that in other posts on here. The top doesn't hit that pure treble point that the picture wah does, yet it has a very nice sweep giving a very vocal WAH sound with no peaks of valleys in the tone... very even sounding.

I suppose evry wah pedal will wear out its pot someday, but that day will be many many many many years from today. Its a tough case, nice switch, and the board is sprayed with anti-vibration paint, so i think its good to go. No need for a backup.

Mr. Teese is super cool. Its nice to speak with someone who really cares about his product and wants to set you up with the right wah for you. He wrote me a detailed email comparing this wah with the Picture Wah that i used to own back in 2001. After a couple emails back and force i was sure the Wizard Wah was for me.

I play metal in the style of Lamb Of God, blues in the style of SRV, and good old rock n' roll is the style of Eric Clapton. This wah works very well for all 3 styles. I used to think i didn't like Wah pedals but thats because all i had tried were dunlop crybaby products which i now refer to as little rocker boxes that do nothing! You really get what you pay for in the world of Wah pedals. I may buy a Picture Wah again just because nothing does the SRV/Hendrix thing like that, its so dead on... But as for all other styles of music, i don't think any wah pedal out there can touch the wizard wah.

Very nice vocal quality. This pedal could work for any style but I think rock was its intention. Right now I am running Gibson '57 reissue Goldtop-->RMCWW-->TS9 reissue-->Boss DD-5-->Fulltone Choral/Flange-->Boss DD-5 (to be modded)-->Fender Twin Reverb Reissue.

I play rock, but am getting more into jazz style. I think this would be a great pedal for any style even country as long as it fit the tune. If it were stolen I would have to say I would try to get another one fast. This is the only wah for me. If it craps out YEARS FROM NOW I think I will still buy another Teese Wah. I did compare it to alot of wahs and narrowed it down to the Fulltone Clyde or the Budda Wah as well. Everyone I talked to said go with Teese. Its just a steo up from everything else. Wish it had an LED indicator and maybe a volume knob-but I am getting those added by the man himself (a white LED and a Volume knob!) Very musical-and glad I bought it.

Its is completely noiseless in any position which is great for a wah pedal. I find the sweep is a a tad under pronounced for my liking. It has a great sweep range, and like everyone has said, it very smooth. I just wish it was a little more in your face. It has a little boost when engaged which is great. And its one of the sweetest looking wah pedals around. Its greatest quality is that it doesn't lose its voice with distortion, like every other pedal i've tried.

Easy to use--the only reason I gave it a 9 is because it would be cool if it did have an led on the side so you could tell when its engaged-sometimes at loud gigs we all know at times we cant always hear ourselves that well, and at times (because this wah sounds so warm and musical) its hard to tell if its on or off.

Beautiful, full, musical tone. Using Musicman Petrucci, and an Axis guitar into the Wizard wah- tone bone hot brittish- boss ds-1- voodoo labs microvibe-boss chorus-boss delay-Carvin legacy half stack or a Mesa dual recto half stack. It has alot of quack, but is very, very smooth sounding. It stays solid sounding when fixed in one position with no distorting gurgle or crackle (like those crappy new voxes. It has sort of a beefed up, thicker and darker picture wah sound. great sounds, never harsh.

I play heavy jam rock like pumped up gov. mule. This pedal rocks and is all top shelf quality to the max. PLayed lots of wahs and this is quite different sounding than many. Any of the teese wahs, or the fulltone clyde, they are all great. Never buy one of those crappy dunlops, or new voxes. You get what you pay for. I would buy another if it were stolen, or would try the wheels of fire wah. Wish it had an led. GREAT WAHHHHHH.

THe only complaint that i have is the bottom cover of the wah is so thin it acts like a diaphram...at volume it vibrates and buzzes ...this was so loud that i could hear it through my playing..i searched for a while and found that if i pressed on the bottom cover it went away. I put a foam gasket between the cover and the body of the wah and the noise is gone....still a great wah.

Very easy. Plug and play.
Why not 10? Well, it is possible to get a 'bad' sound if you're really not using your head or your ears, same as any wah.

My primary setup is a Godin LGX > Zvex Fuzz Factory > WizWah > Boss GE7 eq > Keeley Comp > Mesa Rectoverb head into 2x12 Recto cab. FX loop contains EB volume > Ibanez chorus > Boss DD2 digital delay > Ibanez AD 80 analog delay.
Wiz Wah works very well on clean or dirty channels, with other FX, and with single coils or HBs.
The wah is more of a 'classic' sound than something very modern or extreme. The range is very good, but you won't get crazy 'puking' sounds. The pedal can be left cocked open for a solo - many sweet spots to be found.
I've used it with clean single coils for a 'shaft' sort of tone and been happy with it, and am equally satisfied with it for heavily overdriven solo work.
Originally I placed the Wiz before the Fuzz Factory, but this was not good - crazy, squeeling, unwanted feedback occurred. This was fixed when I swapped their positions in the chain. Otherwise, neither pedal seemed affected by the location. Since I don't know which pedal is interacting negatively with the other, I won't deduct any marks, because the Wiz works well with the FF.

Great! After reading about RMC wah's for some time on the forums, and checking out the web site, I still wasn't sure which would be right for me. I emailed Mr. Teese, described my gear, the kind of stuff I play, that I wanted something that didn't require tinkering and he promptly recommended the Wiz. Great call by him, and I am very pleased with the product. Also nice that he didn't try to upsell me on a more expensive model.

I play in a cover band, doing an eclectic mix of 80's pop to current metal, and needed something that would work in almost any situation. The Wizard Wah delivers well in all situations so far.
The switch to engage it was set right for my weight / preference, but it can be adjusted, according to the instructions.
You've got the option of running off a battery (9v, included) or adapter (not incl), which is always nice.
An LED to indicate it is in use might have been nice, but it is the kind of pedal that is pretty obvious when activated.
Yes, I'd definitely buy another. This is one of those beautiful, simplistic wonders - it doesn't have any bells and whistles because it doesn't need them.
I believe it is considered a 'boutique' pedal, but the price was hardly more than many mass-production models from Vox or Dunlop. I think I'll go play with it right now : )

I'll knock off one here... but don't get me wrong... it's still, by far, the best wah I've ever played. My only criticism is that it seems to have a slight volume fluctuation in the mid-sweep position... particularly when overdriven. This (I've heard) can be adjusted on the RMC3. I like to range of this pedal though. It's super quiet and true bypass so it doesn't mess up your tone when deactivated. Although it is recommended for use with humbuckers, I am also pleased with how it handles single coil pickups.

If you were considering a Vox or Dunlop (those were the ones I played before) it would be well worth an extra $75 to get one of these instead. It's true bypass, it has a port for a power supply and sounds twice as good.

Im Dan the reviewer right before the last. One thing I forgot to mention is the extended sweep range. If your used to playing Voxs and Dunlops and Morleys (wahs I always hated) you may be entertained by this wah at first by the extened sweep in the high, and especially, the low range. One thing you'll realize after a while is that having the pedal all the way in the bass position kind of cuts your sustain out. Not a flaw. Just the nature of the beast. So if your used to just plugging in a wah and having a go up and down on every beat you'll have to sit with your wah approach and learn to work the middle areas of the pedal. That is a good thing in my opnion. Just going from the extreme bass to the extreme treble sounds like a little kid set loose on an effect. Effects like wahs can be abused as well and some people have more musical approaches to wah. Steve Vai comes to mind here. As well as Zappa and Hendrix. You dont really hear any strict up down wah in their playing. Well maybe one or 2 songs.

Another thing I just realized in the few days since I reviewed the Wizard is the tension on the pedal has loosened to the point where it falls down towards the treble side when I take my foot off it. Thats happened with every wah ive ever owned and I think when you play 150+ dates a year it will. I dont consider that a flaw either. I think I will send it in soon though. I dont generally leave the wah on in one position for long but if I ever wanted to Id need that tension firm.

The Wizard wah is fairly simple to operate - no brainer.
The hard part (fun part, really) is learning & adjusting to the sweep.
No EQ's to adjust. No bost level to set. No friggin internal trim pots. Its just an old fashioned wah.
Once you know the sweep and where the sweet spots is, you're money.

Wow. The Wizard Wah is the best sounding wah I have played. Really.
My gear:
Guitars - (2) Epiphone Les Pauls (loaded with Setmour Duncan JB's & Grovers)
Effects - Boss TU2, Ibanez FL9, Fulltone FDII, RMC Wizard, Ibanez AD9, Tone-Jam Sniper/GE7
Amp - 1978 Marshall JMP 50w
When I was shopping for a new wah I was already using a Keeley modified Vox. I was able to try the Wizard versus the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe, a Budda, and a HiWatt. The Wizard was by far the best sounding wah of the bunch...it took me about 4 seconds to figure that out.
The voicing is perfect. The boost is sweet. The wah goes right thru the mix and is just spectacular. Totally musical. We recorded recently and when I heard my wah parts, I was blown away.
Simply the best.

I play hard rock/metal.
I've had my Wizard for almost 3 months now.
The RMC Wizard is the best wah wah I have played, hands down.
Designed for high output pick ups (humbuckers), and it's a design fully realized. Truly the best sounding wah on the market.
And with the cool red paint, the Wizard has a killer hot rodded look that compliments the tonality of the device perfectly.
This wah is the most musical wah available. It helps you make music.

Its a wah pedal. I have noticed over the years people do complain about wah's and its obviouse their too thick to note that the standard wah sound is made with the wah before the distortion pedal or amp and not after or in the effects loop. Ive seen alot of unfair reviews from kiddies because of that.

This review is after about 18 months of use. Nearly 200 gigs. I use a very old Thomas Organ Crybaby wah in the studio but its on its last leg. Live I use it with Strats or Pauls and the crunch channel of a Soldano SLO100. With my older amps it sounds much better.
Hmmm. Here's where Im split. I do like this wah very much but its not what Im after. I should have just put out for the Picture wah. This wah is great and compared to Dunlop, Buddha, Vox and (ugghh) Morley its an improvement. But its not a typical sounding wah. It does have the enhanced sweep range and control like a really good wah but its more..... synthy sounding. I dont know any other way to put it. Its like its too smooth. Its like the sweep effects frequencies that sit on top of the tone instead of getting in their with the tone and interacting with it. Its just different.
I think this is why some people describe it as smooth. I can totally see that. One thing that makes all wah's worse is using them with modern "preamp-centric" amps. You can really hear the range and quack of a wah with a cranked Plexi. Its not a just my opinion I doubt theres anyone out there who wouldnt be like "Goddaaaaaamn!," if they try their own wah through a cranked, old style amp in all its power tube saturated glory if they never played one before. Alot of people take it out on the wah if they cant get that 60's wah sound with a new amp. I have a Soldano SLO and Ive owned most other big new amps at one time. Its not the same. You cant totally get Jimi or Eric or whoever if they use cranked vintage amps and you dont. But thats just a general comment about some wah users.
To sum up I think I want something closer to an actual Clyde Vox and I bought something thats probably intended to be a little different and, although I like it, its not what Im looking for. Ive played an original clyde. The wizard doesnt seem like its really trying to do the clyde thing though. Soon Ill get the Picture Wah instead, but, despite the fact that my description of the tone of this wah puts a negative spin on it (since I personally am not satisfied with its sound) Im sure many people may be after this very sound and it would nail it.
Ill give it an 7 because its a great wah and theres nothing wrong with it but its not for me. Nothing is a 10 people!!! Rating something a 10 means you couldnt possibly rate it any higher and that means nothing could be better and thats just dumb. Noone can play every wah in existence and thats what it would take to know theirs nothing better for you.

Ive been using it for a year and a half with a very busy giging schedule. At least 3x a week or more. It still is perfect and looks new, though I think thats more because I spent alot on a really nice board and take extra care of my stuff. I do have problems with the pot comming loose from the chassis every so often. It messes with the sweep range and I have to open it up and reset everything. Dont really think thats a problem with the construction though.
