5 knobs , low, mid , hi EQ and drive and volume
good EQ and im sure you will find the sound you want if you are willing to spend time on it.

Sound Quality : 9
it's true bypass and i don't lose my tone at all.
you can get a good heavy drive sound out of it. but i use it for mostly a clean distortion which has always been the best distortion pedal i came across. and it's the quietest distortion pedal i've used yet.

Reliability : 9
built like a tank, no problem

Customer Support : No Opinion
never deal with them

i've been playing for 6 years and own a US Strat and recently bought a US Tele. i play alternative rock, excellent match for my style. the clean distortion with the strings sound cutting through.
would buy it again if it gets stolen as it's one of my fav. pedal.
the on/off switch is a bit funny, missed it a few times playing live when i started using it at first. but the tone is so nice i just can't give it up.
i own/owned a few distortion pedal and this one is my fav. , other pedals i have: Proco Rat, MT-2, OD-1
found the other 3 are "eating" my tone quite a lot which i hate about. now i just use 3 pedals and it sounds just right. this GD210 -> boss tremolo -> Line6 DL4

good luck finding one

I guess if you have an amp, you are used to the idea of eq, gain and drive. This pedal has more knobs than my Boss effects, but is also more tweakable. Had no problem dialing it in. Not sure what happened with the poor soul below, my DMblues switches very easily with my bare toes, the knobs are solid, battery replacement is a breeze, the pedal is quite thin and totally stable, I don't have to aim carefully to hit the switch. It's usually on anyway.

Sound Quality : 9
Going through various stuff into SS amp (my club amp), which is the way I test all pedals. I've found that if they sound good here, they generally sound even better with my VHT. This pedal likes me. It likes the way I play & grits & spits at just the right moments and levels. It lets me back off and clean up, then lean into it & crunch. I especially enjoy the tone controls: Bass means bass, as much or as little as I want, unlike most of the rest of my stompers. It has a sound and look that always has other players asking about it. Can't bring my analytical self to rate anything a 10!

Reliability : 9
Like a brick.

Just cool! One of those rare things that you just use without fussing. It's there, doing it's job so well that it seems like an extension of me. I'm ADD, so having to stomp all the time really messes with my focus. With this I really forget it's there & just play, looking out instead of down!

As already mentioned, it takes a little tweaking, but once you find it, you get a very good sound.
I absolutely HATE the foot switch. Conceptually, it's a great idea, as it's enclosed in rubber. But it takes so much force to activate it, if I'm wearing slippers in the house, I almost can't get it!! Points off for that. also, the rubber knobs came off and I had to glue them back on. So, it does have some little structural issues. Basically though, it's built like the proverbial tank.

I use Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion III. It's a fatter-than-normal semi-hollow. I play it through a '68 Deluxe Reverb.

The pedal is not noisy.

I loved the sound of it, until I got myself a Barber Burn Unit II.
That thing provides a silkier, slightly less harsh overdrive.
Still, compared to a lot of what's out there, the Distorted Mind Blues sounds great, especially for the price. Plus, it has true bypass, which is extremely important..

Reliability : No Opinion
As I said, knobs have come loose, and the foot switch is hard to activate, and I think it's gotten worse over time.

Haven't dealt with them.

I play lots of styles, from straight ahead jazz, to blues, rock and disco.
This is a versatile pedal, and meets the demands of my various styles. I've been playing for 37 years, actively.
If it were lost or stolen, no I would not buy another.
I've discovered Barber effects, and they are superior, in every respect.
One of the very good features of this particular unit is the three band equalization. That really allows for customizing your sound.
...and of course the true bypass is indispensable.
As I said before, I wish it had a normal foot switch.

I admit that it is tricky to find the right knob settings with five knobs, but after tinkering with it for a while, you WILL find the sound you want.

Sound Quality : 10
This pedal sounds awesome after you have found the sound you want, no matter if you use it as a boost or a overdrive.
It is the quietest and the most powerful overdrive and distortion (at top gain) that I have played. None of that noisy buzz when you are not playing anything between songs.

Reliability : 10
Very reliable, never had a problem with it. Had it for two years now.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to call them, so I don't know.

Overall Rating : 10
It sounds great for me. I use it as a boost sometimes, mostly I use it with the drive turned to 6. It gives that bluesy sound like SRV.

It's a stomp box right? should be easy, plug in and stomp. Sure you can get an ok sound with this thing that way, but you can get a bad sound that way too. It took me while to get a good handle on this box, its got very high fi kind of thing going on, every knob affects every other knob, as granny would say, its fickle. To realy get a good sound I had to open the EQ knobs up quiet a bit, mostly past the 3 o'clock position. This raises both the level and drive at the same time. I also found that this box works muc better with a very clean amp, the tube simulation circuit seemed to clash with my amps preamp tube distortion. But the time put in is worth the results, very sweet tone, and a great range of sounds.

Sound Quality : 10
Again once I got a feel for the controls, I really got to liking this box. Very sweet round tones. And the flexability of a three band EQ gives it great, i ran it the other night against the four modes of my TS9DX, the GD could come real close to all of them, from the mids of TS9 mode to the huge bottom of Turbo mode. It came close but was a little diffrent, the TS9DX is a more touch sensitive and pushy, the GD is rounder and richer, better with chords and more versitle. Probably the richest sounding of all my dirt boxes,(BD-2, DS-1, DOD Juice Box, Vintage Rat, TS9DX, Dano French Toast, Ibanez SM7)

The GD also has a nce range of gain, closer to overdrive but can push into distortion.

With the EQ backed off, its fairly transparent, not as Transparent as my DOD Juice Box, but not overly coloring. I tend to run the EQ more open which adds more color, but I like the color.

Reliability : No Opinion
Seems solid. heavy construction. I trust it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't have any idea.

Overall Rating : 10
Over all a great, great box. Great original tones, or take advantage of the flexability to use it as a backup to two or three other boxes (just take good notes it's fickle) The Failure Free True Bypass is great, true by pass when off, and if the battery dies, the bypass kicks in automaticly. Lots of rich sweet tone once you tame this beast.

The footswitch is not as easy to use as other units. You have to hit it just right. It is reliable, however.

Sound Quality : 10
This is a follow up to my previous review. After playing around with this unit for awhile, I have found that it really shines for the type of slide playing that I do (hard driving Delta blues). With an electric resonator (Galveston) and played through a Reverend Hellhound amp, it gets a wonderfully greasy, slightly nasty tone that really cuts through the band. You have to keep the gain and the treble fairly low, but once you nail it, you got the mojo workin'!

Reliability : No Opinion
No problems!

Overall Rating : 9
Right now, it's the perfect pedal for my slide solos. The true bypass seems to be exactly that and it doesn't interfere with other pedals (Fulltone Fulldrive, Klon Centaur). It's not very versatile for me, but who needs versatility when it does one thing very well!

5 knobs (lo,mid,hi,drive, level). No manual, but we all know what these are for! Having 3 eq's is a strong point. You can dial in more bass if you need to, or scoop the mids if that's your thing, or remove harsh highs. The drive gets worse the higher you go, but the lower settings sound pretty good. Nice tubey breakup. The level can give a decent boost even with the drive set low. It takes a little tweaking to get it to sound good, but once you do it's alright!

Sound Quality : 6
Using a Reverend Slingshot and a Tele Special through a Reverend Hellhound amp or an old Sunn amp I can get a usable solo boost with added grit and grind. The unusual footswitch takes a little getting used to, but it works fine. This thing is pretty much a one trick pony and will not get good heavier distortion. The drive has a very limited range, the higher settings sound thin and buzzy. Good Chicago blues and old rock sounds! If you want high gain distortion, better look elsewhere!

Reliability : 9
Solid construction, metal body, knobs are exposed and could be damaged. The footswitch is enclosed under a rubber pad, no dirt will easily get in (yea!), but activating the effect takes a little getting used to. An LED tells you if the unit is on and flashes when the battery is low. One added point is that this unit claims to be true bypass. It does not seem to color the tone much (or at all) when not in use. Also, it is supposed to automatically switch to bypass when the battery runs out. I have not tested this feature as it is powered from my pedalboard. The unit seems to have more volume and punch using an AC adaptor as opposed to batteries. I would use it without backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't dealt with them, they're in the Czech Republic!

Overall Rating : 7
For what I use it for, mainly blues and rock styles, I like it. If you're looking for a tubescreamer sound you might want to check it out. More flexibility with 3 EQ's. I have tried many pedals (TS-9,TS-10,Danelectro Daddy-O,Turbo Rat,Boss Blues Driver and more) and this is the one I use right now. Your results may vary! Try before you buy!And don't believe everything you read! I've been playing for over 25 years and I'm amazed at all the rave reviews for products that I have tried and have been disappointed in! What are some of these folks thinking? That being said, you may want to check this pedal out. It's not the Holy Grail, but you may like it's sound!
