Takes a bit of time to dial in your sound.

Sound Quality : 10
WOW... there is a reason everyone gives this pedal a 10, it deserves it! The GoudieFX Delay is warm like an analog delay while being clear and precise as a digital delay. It is 100% quite... no noise at all. I put my 5 year old Maxon AD80 Analog Delay up on ebay the same day I received the GoudieFX.

One final word... do your sound a favor and buy one !!!!!

Reliability : 10
It is built like a Tank.

Russell is very helpful and responsive. The pedal was shipped the next day.

My remarks in the Sound Quality section says it all.

Very easy to dial in your effect levels. No more to add here.

Giving it a 9 because if you mistakenly change your dials (or on purpose.. no matter) and wish to bo back to your previous settings, there are no markers. Someone had suggested to mark it yourself (which is what I did).

Personally, I think markers make pedals look cheap, but they are handy.

As soon as I heard this thing I ripped my Dan Echo out of my chain and stopped looking for a Boss AD (or DD-2).

My effects chain was:

RS = Retro Sonic
GFX = GoudieFx

RS Compressor -> RS Deluxe Drive -> RS 808 -> Boss Metal Zone(eww) -> GFX Chorus -> Boss Flanger (whatcha gonna do) -> GFX Boost -> Volume -> Dan Echo -> Traynor YSR-1 (I do not have an effetcs loop...).

When Russ came out with the delay, Out came the DanEcho and in when GFX delay without hesitation. Not because the Echo was bad, but because GoudieFx is that good. It was worth the $$$ hit to replace it.

The MT2 has to go... I am thinking a GFX OTP
I had previously replaced my RS Boost, with a Goudie FX Boost (not reviewing the GFX Boost here, but it is CLEAN)

Reliability : 10
Many people think Boss pedals are built like tanks. These things are built sturdier in my opinion. If I ever got mad at someone I would pity whomever I threw this thing at. Solid construction: tight metal casing!

Customer Support : 10
Russ has a 2 year warrantee on everything he sells. My advantage (which is why I can call him Russ) is he is a personal friend. I can drive to see him when I need something. When I get stuff from him we often meet for coffee.

For those who do not have that close proximity advantage: Let me tell you that he is a stand up guy. very nice to deal with, and stnds by his work.

Overall Rating : 10
My impression of GoudieFx:

I use vintage Traynor amps. Why? Because Pete Traynor got tired of working on poorly built amps/components so he took the best of what he knew and improved on them.

I use GoudieFx pedals (I currently own 3: Delay, Chorus and Boost) for the same reason: because Russ wants to build great sounding, high qaulity equipment. When Russ brings something to the table, I want to try it - every time I try something, I end up riping something else out of my signal chain and replacing it with his effects. I asked Russ for months when he was going to build a delay. When he did I snatched one up (pre-market). Soon I am going to be trying his OTP and I already know what my Christmas gift is going to be...

If someone stole my gear, I would not cry at all. I would replace EVERYTHING with GoudieFx pedals (even the Retro-Sonic gear, which is very good). Why: GoudieFx is great quality, great sound, and VERY reasonably priced. Buy his stuff now because as soon as the word gets out, the average joe will never be able to afford it.

Simple, three knobs that do what they say they do. Just go down to your board dial it in and boom it works. I recommend using some correction fluid and mark the main spots on the delay time knob that You use the most. This helps to find that quick spot to work from I like approx 450 ms. or so.

I never opened that manual. I am an experianced player so there is wans'nt a need to do so.

Sound Quality : 10
Best damn delay pedal I ever played! Beats the all boss, line6 units etc. I like good sounding clear transparent delay that has a lot of control. No faint reatpeats or muddy bass freq. on the kick back. It's smooth. The wet level at full blast will kickout repeats that are louder than you origonal signal. Or you can completly turn it to dry it out. Awesome control. Works with all units. I run a PS-3, meistersinger chourus, retro sonic phaser, and a keeley compressor in my loop. It sounds great with everything. this sucker is of great value to. Very fair price no need for t-rex or other expensive boutique units.

Reliability : No Opinion
Built great and I am not hard on my gear but it's too early to give this a rating at this time. I am sure there won 't be problems.

Customer Support : 10
So far so good. Very timly with e-mail responses to questions.

This thing is fabulous I don't want to give perfect 10's on everything because it's still early and I have only had this thing for a couple weeks. In that time, I have put about 120 hours on this unit. I just wanted to review it. I tried to wait but I just could'nt help but to express how bad ass this unit is. The day I got it I had a gig and used that night with awesome results. Lay people knew something was differnt about my sound and I was on fire that night. I knew from the moment I tested it that I found a gem. I play in a cover band so I need versitility it's a perfect match for my les paul and fender blackface. I feel this delay would work for any amplified muscial instrument. If it were lost of stolen I would be horrified. I would have to buy a new one imediatly. Ahh f-it it gets a 10!

It is a delay pedal....A good sounding simple little box that does and sound as it should. Simple yet so spacial...As in spacey sounds

Sound Quality : 10
I use in the "serial" effects loop. This units is easy to control and sounds great. NO NOISE...NO MUD!

Sounds great both clean and dirty....No limits...I am a fussy bastard when it comes to my sound ( Analogman and Goudie effects only). I play a Lest Paul STD and a new Traynor half stack.

Reliability : 10
2 year warranty and hand made in Ottawa Canada. Solid little box. This man stands behind his products....First Class all the way

Customer Support : 10
Russ Goudie cares. You don't get this class of service from Boss or Digitech.

Goudie FX has my business going forward...And that's all I have to say about that.....

Overall Rating : 9
Great product, made in Canada, reasonably priced and it works well. I am getting a second one to run in my sidechain loop so as to always have delay when I kick in my 3rd channel for leads...

Exceptional becuse ya can not get a bad setting out of it.

Sound Quality : 10
Are you kidding me I've tried and owned em all this is the best, the best. Tone is beautifull and the mix control actually works it is quiet and clean but has musical quality. The repeat is not a crappy feedback control but adds repeats . I've owned maxon, ibanez boss, guyatone, liquid echo etc. Maybe a $800 moog sounds better but I doubt it.

Reliability : No Opinion
So far looks well made

Very Easy! Just three knobs-Delay time, repeats(feedback numbers),
and wet level. Simply by turning these knobs, you will get the tone you want! Russel recommeds some settings on the manual and they all sound great :)

Man...this is my 3rd pedal from Goudie Russel.
He NEVER gets me down!! This pedal is another amazing product from him!! Here are my gears!
Ibanez Jem7vwh(/fender am.st.strat) --Vox847--Goudie FX comp--Goudie FX 808+-> modified Boss DS-1 --> Tonebone Classic--> Boss CE-2-->GoudieFX Delay--> Earnieball volume pedal.

I have used Dan Echo before this delay pedal. I loved its sweet sound, a lot like analog delays! I was so sad when it broke..so I decided to buy this pedal! Now I like this pedal much much more! Sounds so sweet without affecting your tone!! Very transparent and sounds very natural! NOT like other digital delays.
Just like all other Goudie pedals, completely NO Noise at all.
Common, I'm so ~ satisfied with this and I always this one on when I play. Thanks to goudie! :)

Oh just one more thing..as all other analog delays, it's kinda hard to find correct delay time. I really wish there is a tap tempo button..:)

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank! And he will give you 2 yrs of warranty w/o any hassel!

Customer Support : No Opinion
JUST AMAZING!!! I contacted him many times and he will kindly reply within a day. His shippings are also very honest and fast.
When I see his way doing the business, I can see that he will be very famous soon!!

I play a lot of different music styles. Rock, blues, funky, christian musics..and they all fit with this pedal, and ALL OTHER goudie's pedals! I seriously recommend this great pedal to all guitarists looking for delay pedal. THIS IS IT!!

This is a fairly straightforward pedal to use; however, you will need to tweak the knobs in order to get the correct rhythm or tempo of a song. There are no numbers or settings displayed like a Boss DD, but I do think you can figure out what you want very easily. Yes, this pedal is easy to use.

Sound Quality : 10
Well, I didn't buy this pedal with the notion of copying anyone exactly, but that does not mean it wasn't a factor. I heard some clips of this pedal doing the U2 vibe and I felt that it really nailed the tone. I also do a great pink floyd the wall tone with a simple movement of the repeat knob.
Okay, here is the setup: note that I have it farther in the chain, closer to my amp.
I run either my Fender CIJ Jazzmaster or Fender AVRI Jazzmaster into a teese rmc2, a ts808(reissue), a ts9/808 silver, a vodkaMod dynacomp, the goudie delay, the ibanez ad9, a boss tu-2, eh deluxe mistress, the ernie ball jr. volume and into two amps: a vibroverb clone or a vibrolux reverb.

I found that it works well going after my overdrive pedals and before my mistress. The tone is clear. I say that and mean that there is absolutely NO discoloration of my original tone--at least that I can hear. Russ also incorporated a "dry/wet level" control that is not a "blend" knob. This completely keeps your original tone clear and dry even with the delay activated. You'll appreciate this when you get the pedal in your hands. I can't believe how many pedals, including my AD9, simply add too much color and effect to the dry signal. It's cool to have that effect, but it's even better to have the option. No muddiness whatsoever.
This pedal is a great mixture of analog warmth, simplicity and modern technology. I'm not sure what chip he uses and whether it compares to the panasonic whatever. I heard BBD somewhere in the description. I do care that it sounds great; this pedal sounds great. I was jamming "run like hell" the other day, and it felt so good to hear that exact delay tone I remember on the album. Yes, you read it write, does it ever copy those old delay tones. It does a nice rattle and hum delay, too, and so you'll have that.
It also does a great job interacting with other pedals. For a very spacey, clean wah tone, I use this pedal to get something different. I also like using this delay with my mistress; it really does a cool job of nailing down some classic tones--new ones, as well.
Overall, this is the last delay pedal I will use. I think it would be cool to have three of them: one for rockabilly tones, another for U2/Floyd ranges, and lastly one for longer tones. This pedal gives 500ms of delay time. That would be a great setup. By far, this is the best delay I've used.

Reliability : 9
So far so good. I have only had this pedal for a little while. This pedal, however, is built very well. I've used it many times now since buying it, and I've yet to experience even a hiccup. Everything looks and feels top shelf.

Customer Support : 10
Here is where I would like to say what a great guy Russ is to deal with. Nice level of communication, and he really stands behind his pedal. You can sense this just by his enthusiasm for the pedal. He offers a great warranty on all of his pedals, so I'm not worried about this one breaking down on me.

Overall Rating : 10
Well, I do a spacey emo/rock and blues vibe. I don't look for Jimi tones anything like that, but I do appreciate a tight, clear, and versatile sounding rig. With the addition of this delay, I feel one step closer to complete. I've had quite a few delay pedals in my time--the ibanez ad9, hd1500, boss dd3, dd5, and dod fx90. All of them were great delay pedals, but I really like this one. I just like that it's the first delay pedal really does not color or muddy my tone. Sure, many builders boast this to be true of their product, but I have yet to hear it. There could be other great delay pedals out there, but I haven't heard them. This one is great, and it is the one I want to keep using.
Plus, this pedal is very cheap considering the pricey delayla and maxon delays. This, I feel, stands well on its own.
