Sound is excellent. It reproduces exactly what you give it. No extra noise. Plenty of delay time available.
I actually use mine on bass. Fender Jazz or Precision - Ampeg SVT w/810 cab. Sounds awesome and huge!
It can get some very tripped out space-like sounds too if that's what you're into.

I've had mine for a year. No problems yet. Only thing I notice is a little popping if I wiggle one of the cable inserts or if I accidentally hit it.

Overall, I think this is a fantastic delay pedal with a great, clean sound and it's very easy to use. It's small and doesn't take up much room on your board, yet it has all the basic features most people need with a delay pedal.. except a tap-tempo feature. You may want that if you need it for more rhythmic delay stuff like U2 or something. Regardless, it's a super pedal and a great value too!

pretty easy to use, everything is just where and what you'd expect to find on a delay pedal.

the sound is pretty good. I don't remember ever having a lack of bypass problem. the delays sound just like the first one. everything you'd expect and want. it does repeat my clams and flubs as well as my genious moments, too. it makes no judgement, adds no flavours.

here's the problem that i seem to be the only one having. as we all know the little fella eats up batteries, it's a delay pedal of course it does. i took it out on the road and used it very regular for years. hats off to the o-ring it never wore out or stretched out. since i don't have stock in any bettery company i recently bought the proper adapter from guyatone. something very gnarly happens if it is on for very long, sometimes an hour sometimes 15 minutes. when i click it on it goes from slapback to crazy delay overload with over the top delay feedback, asceding volume ****e. not very fun when you're doing a 'sensitive passage', haha. but seriously, it was awesome for a few years but now it's a paper weight. when it goes bananas the controls cease to really have a function. but, i got a few good years out of it, right? i hate replacing stuff, this did replace a boss dd-3, that just stopped doing anything. something else will replace it.

i play spaghetti western, surf, psychedelic stuff. i depend on reverb and delay more than any other effect.
would I buy it again since it broke? nope, i don't think i will. I'm strolling through reviews looking for a replacement right now.
I play a custom archtop named Sugar, an ovation breadwinner, ibanez hotrodded artcore ((the road guitar) real bigsby and gretsch filtertrons), a couple early 60's modded silvertone archtops. Custom amp built by Bartlett Electronics, 1970 fender twin reverb, 1972 fender musicmaster bass amp, holy grail reverb, barber direct drive, boss loop station, boss tr-2, ernie ball vp-2

very easy to use,,3 knobs and a small 3 way switch. Mess with it for a bit and you will figure it out easy enough. Came with a manual but only states things like how to turn a knob and plug in a battery,,which may be helpfull to some seeing that the battery installation is quite different than any pedal ive ever used. The manual does not give any good settings. But they are easy to find yourself.

I love this delay pedal. It has many delays available. The sound is hard to decribe because other than the delayed sound of your guitar,,there is no added sound of its own. It is exactly the sound you put in it repeated over and over,,,the same. No noise from this pedal. Very quiet. I have been able to get delays from this that resemble reverb quite well. The delays it offers go up to 2600ms. Plenty of delay for me. Way More than I need. I use it in the effect loop of my boogie rectoverb and it sounds great. There is no added noise at all, very quiet unit. It seems to have very useable sounds across the board. I dont know if it makes any weird spaceship sounds or not,,never tried..thats not music,,,its noise. Awsome unit,,I love it

I think it will hold up well enough for normal use. I wouldnt go smashing it into the ground like you could with a boss though. I use this with a visual sound 1 spot and it works great. With the 1 spot I dont need to worry about the battery replacement stuff,,,although I have tried it with a battery and I must say, the design of the pedal is its weakest trait. Replacing the battery is not as bad as some have stated. They could have added about 1/4 inch of space for a bit easier installation though. It works fine with the battery though. I give the pedal an overall reliability rating of 8 but because I even have to mention the battery issue it get a 7

your basic stomp box.. knobs and a footswitch. nothing somebody with 5 minutes to spare wouldn't be able to figure out. You may need more time to figure out what sounds you like, but what instrument(or effect) doesn't? finding a sound on this I like wasn't too hard to find considering it sounds so damn good!

my current setup.. korg MS-2000(or korg EA-1) >EH big muff pi >guyatone Md-2 >Marshall valvestate 100W head and 4x12 peavey cabinet. the delay effect reproduces the sound very well and is the one of the best for the money. i like the features on the boss dd-6 but not the cold reproduction it gives.. no problem with that here. beautiful sounding. the only thing i dislike is the volume-gain when the feedback is set past 3 o'clock. I am a man that loves feedback, but not when it reaches deafening levels on its own. spinning the knobs rapidly can produce some nice motor-spacey-trippedout-tweaks, but not as well as the onboard delay on my korg synthesizers(they are very liquid and fun!). what made me fall in love with this pedal was setting the delay time to full and and the feedback to 2:45... then i kept the delay on my synth on a medium length echo.. i conjured up a warm synth tone and played single note repititions...the combination of both delays produced a fuzzy tripped out atmosphere that brought tears to my eyes! (ive been in love ever since(who needs the opposite sex when you have guyatone and space-rock?))

I play Space-Rock/Trip-Hop/Shoegaze/Dance-rock/post-hardcore/new-wave/indie-rock with a Science Fiction concept. for working with a nice atmosphere, this paired with other echoes and modulations brings beautiful spaced-out results. for doing 'normal' music i am sure it could get the job done with flying colors.. but then again, i am not the one to talk to about 'normal' music...

This effect sounds fabulous in my opinion. No extra noise, high quality sound reproduction, and very warm for a digital setup. After looking at the ridiculous prices of Ibanez, Maxon, and EH analog delays, I purchased this one on advice from this website. I am very please with its performance, and it doesn't noise to my setup (Pacifica through a Princeton 112Plus, Jekyll & Hyde, various Boss pedals, etc.

Reliability hasn't been a problem for me, but I baby my pedals. I wouldn't feel comfortable using a battery with this thing, but with an adapter, I have no qualms. It seems quite solid to me, actually.

I play a lot of mainstream rock, been playing 10 years, and this pedal is perfect. Can get reasonable U2 and Coldplay sounds out of it. Would buy it again in a heartbeat. Compared against Boss and other digi-delays, this one takes the cake! It brings out the creative guitarist in me! For the price I paid, this is fabulous!

Yesterday I bought this pedal brand new and planned to try it playing the guitar all day long. After 45 minutes, the pedal started to produce unusual and weird signals. I thought the problem was with the battery and tried to change it. But the red bulb had gone and never came back. I tried to plug an adaptor in but I had no response. This noon, I will give it back and probably I will buy a dd3 instead of it. Personally I cannot trust it again. But, I don't want to be unfair and I'll give no score. I just wanted you all to know about that case dear friends.

Great sound quality. I use a Godin LGX-Sa -> ProCo Turbo Rat -> Morley BadHorsie Wah -> MD-2 -> Roland Jazz Chorus 60. Works Great in conjunction with the wah, and when you volume swell into a chord on a long delay it sounds kinda like an organ. Turning the Feedback knob past 3:00 causes the unit to feedback on itself, this used with the delay time knob and some feedback can cause some interesting elctronic sounds. You can use this pedal as an instrument on its own. Only problem with this pedal is that when its on it adds a really nice delay that i miss when the pedal is off.

Dont really trust it. The pots and inputs are cheap and plastic. the "o-ring" is a bit of a joke and it eats batteries. I am fixing this with a friend though. ive had a vox volume pedal (that is a piece of crap) for a while and i decided to mesh the delay with the casing of the volume pedal. I am drilling a stomp switch out one side of the pedal for the a/b switch, i am attatching the delay time knob to the foot control part of the volume pedal, then i am drilling the other two pots out the other side of the pedal. this will allow me to control the delay time with my foot as well as being able to switch between long and short delay by kicking the side of the pedal. Oh, I am also making it true bypass :)

Its a great pedal, but itll be better after the mods

Pretty easy to get a good sound. Easy enough to dial in slapback, sound on sound, feedback, and other sounds.
What's not so easy: the switch between long and short mode is black, tiny, not something to change on the fly.

This is my first delay pedal. Having said that, I'm pretty happy with the sound quality. I demoed Boss, Ibanez, Dano, and Digitech delays before deciding on Guyatone. I usually don't buy a pedal without hearing it first, but I did this one, based on what people said on Harmony Central reviews and discussions.
Unlike the Boss and the Digitech, this doesn't sound too 'digital' too my ears. As other reviewers noted, it sound clear, yet 'warm' as well.
I'll use it often to subtley fatten my sound, with no feedback and a short delay time. But it also sound just fine on slapback and long delays.
I wouldn't say it completely loses its digital quality, but it sounds warmer than others I tried.

I'm not crazy about the way this unit is held together by a rubber ring. You have to use if you change batteries. Anyway, I give it juice via a power adaptor, so I don't have to fool with that.
The pedal switch, though small and simple, seems like it will work for a very long. Unlike the Ibanez pedal I have.

So, based on the only query that they didn't answer, my rating for support is poor.

I just play at home. I've played acoustic guitar off and on for 30 years, and electric for 2.
If lost, I'd consider buying it again. The pedal does not have reverse delay, or the short looping of other pedals. But I'm pretty happy. I'm reasonably picky about tone, and this pedal sounds fine.

I really like the sound of this delay...now if you want vintage tape style decay you aren't going to get it but if you want an exact copy of what you're playing then this is it. I like that I can get from very, very short slap-backs, to pretty long running lines. I'm very much considering getting the newer MD3 do go along with my MD2 and having one set up for short delays and one for longer delays. I was never impressed with the sound of the Boss delays.
It's probably not a feature put there on purpose but you never know...I like that when you turn the feedback all the way up the unit starts to feedback upon itself in a giant wash of noise. Mix this with a few other effects and spin the delay times around and you can get some uber-cool experimental sounds.

This is a great delay...it's also nice that it doesn't take up much space on the pedal board. I do wish that Guyatone would also come out with a more vintage style delay...we all like to get a little nasty from time to time. But for perfect reproductions of your sound you can't ask for more than what the MD2 gives you.
