This is an upgrade to my previous review.
Ok it's old, but it has already broken twice since I've put it back on track: brilliance knob first, now nothing's working, probably the power supplier has fried (for sure it was not my fault, I've never fed it unproperly). I don't know what I'll do about, I don't want to suck my cash out of this when I already have a TS.

Anyway, when I opened it to try and figure out what was wrong I've found a big surprise: JRC4558D chip included... That would be the only reason I'd keep it for (yeah I know, that's pure fetish..), otherwise I would dismantle by the piece and make a good replacement store out of it. I remember it as a quite good device when it was working, now it has been broken for months: guess I'll be coming out the dead.

Originaly it sounded OK but I wanted more drive on full and less when turned right down . I found the chip and changed it for a JRC4558D chip what a difference its a cheap mod and turns this thing in to a tone monster easy to do .8 with out the mod 10 with it

If you want an overdive that your not scarred to take out and realy run a TS all the way to the tone bank then get one (if you can find one !!) Ive played since the 70's and love this little gem I doubt I will sell it as its too good and too rare to find another

3 standard knobs: level, brilliance (more or less same as tone) and overdrive.

I found it abandoned, hidden somewhere in my rehearsal hall (someone must have forgotten it A LONG time ago), and the brilliance knob needed repair, since it was loose and it affected the whole thing with a constant buzz.
now I got it fixed, it's just a little bit noisy (which overdrive isn't at all, come on..)and it has a very deep and neat drive: absolutely good for single coil chord rhythms, but it can provide a very nice power-chording too with humbucking. I don't play many lead parts, but it doesn't seem to have enough sustain (indeed I have a bigmuff for that...).
Also nice for bass. i give it a 8 because there's something called Tubescreamer out there...

I can't say, I've found it broken and now it works good.
Don't know for how long, the pedal seems to be quite old, more or less from the late 80's.

If it were stolen, I wouldn't know where I could find another one.
Anyway, I wouldn't use it as my only OD/Dist pedal, it's versatile but it doesn't cover the whole range of things I need: for example, it doesn't have that dry, punchy crunch that my Daddy-O gives, but it deserves a place in my pedal chain.
