This thing is one of the best envelope filters on the market. I have
a Boss Touch Wah and I've owned a Mutron and a Doctor Q--The Wah Rocker is a BIG price performance winner! Even against higher priced
competition this thing kicks ass.....

No problems yet. Look sturdy enough--although the rubber ring that holds the unit together might go bad 10-15 years from now--by then
who cares?

revolting. Useless for guitar unless with both
knobs at max. Even with the effect 'out', the circuit
loads the guitar and adds distorion artifacts. I give it
a 3 because it produces something like a what it is purported
to do -- it 'quacks' after a fashion.

I have used Mutron's, Q-Trons, DOD, Boss, LoveTone(Meatball),etc...
For guitar & bass, Though would not recomend the WR-2 for bass(what is T.M Stevens thinking?) It is a great sounding auto-wah for the price you pay.

Godlyke Dist. is a very easy company to deal with. I am a purchasing
agent for a highly respected world wide mail order string shop, and they have never been anything but helpfull.

I usually do not submit reviews of products, but after reading the review by a "Jordan" for this product I was inspired to question his
credibility. He complains about the instructions being printed in Japanese???(2 cords & 2 knobs???), did anyone notice his many spelling
mistakes??? As far as it being over priced, it looks to me like he got a pretty good deal (I know what dealer cost is!) This guy(or girl) is
obviously a flake! Everybody else seems to think it's pretty good.

With only two knobs it is not hard at all to get a useable sound out of it, you just have to decide which one you want that that time =>

I was rather impressed with its sound your tone can be really treblely if your not care with your picking and amp settings, but its not a bad thing in my book

Yes i think it will be dependable, only time will tell, but if you don't abuse it i can't see having any problems with it. the switch is smooth with no clicks or pops.

While you could probably use this pedal for almost any type of music in some way, I mainly use it for funky/jangle/classic rock sounds, and have not been let down yet.

Two knobs, threshold and decay, control the attack for the wah and the speed of the wah. Why they didn't call them speed and attack, I don't know. Placed in the effects loop, it did nearly nothing, but in front of the amp, after a bit of twiddling, I got some nice sounds out of it. Only works really well for individual notes, as chords tend to force it into the open end of the wah sweep.

I was actually a bit surprised at the tone from this. Granted, its not a real wah, but the tone comes pretty close to that of my Morley chrome wah. The problem is in the depth or width of the sweep- no control means the open end can be awfully trebly. Sounds a bit better with clean tones than distortion. The response to the pick attack is good, but it can stick in the open end of the wah sweep if you're not too careful.

Solid metal casing and metal stomp switch makes it appear quite solid and reliable, but I've only had it a few days, so who can really tell.

For such a compact unit (half the size of a Boss pedal), I'm impressed with both the workmanship and the sound from it. I got it in a package deal where the other two pedals were what I really wanted, but this was a nice bonus. One drawback - to replace the battery, you have to remove the bottom of the pedal, exposing the circuit boards; the battery nests right next to the boards. Though this won't figure into much of my playing, it will be a nice addition to play with every now and then. A decent unit to have at the price I paid until I can afford a *real* envelope filter.

I tried this with several different guitars, onw with humbuckers(dimarzio PAF plus), one with single coil(Rio Tall boys), and a piezo equipped Yamaha acoustic. I was able to get the expected auto wah on all though the piezo tooks a bit more tweaking. It seems to have a slight signal boost which is good as most auto wahs weaken your siganl a little.
I liked the sound and thought it was useful, It responds well to picking dynamics and gives a nice vocal sound to you playing. I wish it had the ability to use down wah, like a mutro or a t-wah. Its fine for Fire on the mountain or shakedown street.

As I've only just received this unit it too early to tell. I don't think this was meant to be an indestructable pro effect. As mentioned in previos reviews the rubber grommet and loose insulator are both cause for concern. I thought the foot switch seemed ok though time will tell. Since I've seen top quality gear maintained by experienced techs fail, I've no doubt that this too could fail.

I've owned several other auto wahs over the years- IBZ AF-201, Boss TW-1 FT-2 and AW-2, and a DOD green box. I rate this as better sounding sounding than the DOD or the Boss autowah, I think it compares favorably with the T-Wah, except the twah allows a down sweep. the tiny size is great for just throwing in a gig back, and the slight volume boost is good for being able to cut through. I'm sure I will be showing up with this at some Jam sessions in the near future.

The battery compartment is held together with a rubber bushing if it breaks you are screwed. The circuitry is protected by a piece of cardboard. Short circuit city.

I compared this head to head with my old green DOD envelope filter. The DOD kicked its ass. Sorry to the dude that I canceled selling it to. The WR2 did not yield any Garcia like sounds or even remotely sound like an auto wah.

I would not recommend this to anyone . In fact I have an ad on the net to sell it and Im going to pull it. I wont sell this to anyone because they will hate me. The distribuotr, GOdlyke, should be ashamed of trying to sell this to the American public. This thing is built like crap, sounds like crap and is over priced. I hate DOD pedals but their envelope filter really is great. And they are 55 bucks at a rip off place like musicians enemy. Screw you Guyatone. I wont buy any of your products again.

This is as simple as it gets. a stompswitch, 1 LED and 2 knobs-- Threshold and Decay. Adjust the Threshold to the output level of your pickups. Adjust Decay until the effect sounds best to you.

I own a Boss T-Wah and an original Mutron III, and in my opinion the Wah Rocker sounds better than either of these on guitar. Neither the T-Wah nor the Wah Rocker is designed for bass. The Mutron III sounds best on bass, but not as good as the Wah Rocker on guitar. The WR2 has a sweep range and tone that is very greasy & rubbery sounding--moreso than the Mutron, believe it or not. This is definitely the best sounding envelope filter for guitar that I've ever heard. I've never compared it to a Lovetone Meatball, but the Wah Rocker is 1/4th the price (and size!) of a Meatball, so IMO the Meatball would have to sound 4 times better to beat the Wah Rocker.

I've only had it for 3 days, so no comment on reliability yet--although it has quality parts and seems like it was assembled with attention to detail. It's casing is a somewhat thin gauge of sheet metal that is stamped by a hydraulic press into a boxish shape with rounded edges, and the edges that touch the floor are flanged outward. The bottom plate is a thicker gauge of sheet metal that attaches to the case by a rubbe ring that holds the bottom plate to the flanged edges of the case, eliminating the need for screws. If you stomped it violently, you could probably cave in the casing, but it's sturdy enough for normal use. If you can use one of those plastic Ibanez soundtank pedals without destroying it, then you shouldn't have to worry about denting the Wah Rocker. I give it a 5 only because of the casing not being as heavy-duty as most other pedals. A backup would be lovely, but this is real-life. How many people can afford to buy a backup for every piece of gear they own? I don't have a backup for anything! What choice do I have? OF COURSE I'd use it on a gig without a backup. Can you imagine someone NOT using a killer sounding piece of gear he just bought just because he doesn't have a backup for it? Why buy it in the first place?

To my knowledge, there is no Guyatone dealer or service/support center in the States. The manual and warranty that came with it are all in Japanese so it appears that Guyatone never intended it to be sold in any English-speaking countries (although all the writing on the box is all in English--go figure.) I think if mine ever breaks, I'm on my own.

If you're a Stevie Salas fan like I am, or if you like funk or funk-based hard rock, this pedal is IT--the Japanese Holy Grail. It has a cheesy-coolness to it. The Guyatone Micro Effects series was designed as budget effects for beginning guitarists--kind of the Silvertone equivalent to the Japanese effects market. I'd give it a perfect 10 if Guyatone would sell them in the States by the thousands for $40-$50 each, with a customer service/support center.

It's very easy to use, since it only has two knobs; Threshold (sensitivity) and Decay (speed). The pickups on my Stratocaster (T-bear, Texas Vintage) has a fairly low output signal, which means that I have to put the threshold knob at around 3 o'clock to make it wah. The Decay knob doesn't have a big effect, but that doesn't matter, since the Wah Rocker only gets more easy to use!

I use the WR-2 with my strat and my Ampeg V4 head (120 watts +4*12 cabinet). I considered buying a DOD envelope filter (FX25) instead, but the sounds from the WH-2 were harder more aggressive, very suitable for my playing styles which are Funk, Rock and Blues. Great using with clean or distorted sounds, but sounds terrible with tremolo, chorus or a real wah.

It's a very compact design. The only trouble is that it's so small I almost miss it on the floor! The case is made of metal. I would use this thing without a backup.

It's great for the music I play, and I like it a lot. I would buy it again, but I wished it had a volume knob for boosting.
