Ease of Use : 8
It's easy to get a good sound actually it's hard to get a bad sound unless you were playing a $50 guitar through a 5 watt practice amp, but even then it would probably tear it up. The manual was friendly and detailed and if you have never seen an effect before in your life you would still be on your way. I give an 8 because of how many different sounds are in there and some people might take a while to find the sound that suits them, not even counting the many tubes you can use with the unit.

Sound Quality : 10
I am using a Hartke 350 out of a mesa stack, Ibanez Ergodyne 700. This thing is great lots and lots of sustain and fatness. I saw an earlier post where someone complained about the unit not having enough gain, man that guy must have been some ultra metaloid jerk. I listen to most modern bands and I feel this pedal has enough gain to blow your arse off. You need more? Put an old tube screamer before it and you got your gain pal. And in my opinion it goes great with all the messed effects I use, but not when the tube screamer is on also. Matter of fact I am really falling in love just using it alone. I am giving it a 10 becuase it is the best overdrive I have ever heard, I have tried the TS10, powerlead, boss bass overdrive. None of these pedals can even carry the tubesters jock strap.

Reliability : 10
Man this thing is solid and if anything does go wrong I am confident Don wo0uld fix it.

Customer Support : 10
I called Don before I bought the pedal and talked to him about it. He was very friendly and very helpful. There was a few options I was thinking about but instead of just wanting to charge me more money Don told me honestly what was up with each option, but offered to do them anyway. This is the kind of support Mesa claims to have and does not! God bless you Don!

Overall Rating : 10
I play mostly heavy type stuff (why would a bass player need distortion otherwise?) and this pedal is great it can do many sounds from modern high gain to a sorta dirty old amp. All the paper work that came with my unit said DS-1? But even if it is the wrong one it sounds awsome! I only have 2 complaints, and they are not complaints really but minor gripes. All the ins and outs are located one one side of the pedal to the left, so putting it in line with other effects gets kind of wierd but even if I have to move around all my effects to accomidate this pedal I don't mind a bit! And I wish Bass was printed on the unit next to the tubester logo so you could tell it was the different model but oh well nothing major. I would normally not talk bout this pedal but Don is no nice and this is such a good pedal I felt I should spread the word. I love this pedal if you want good overdrive for guitar or Bass check this one out. DON IF SOME HUGE COMPANY OFFERS TO BUY YOU OUT DONT DO IT THIS IS A REALLLY GOOD PEDAL!
