Ease of Use : No Opinion
this little unit is not a preamp as many believe, but a TUBE AMP.
It has a 12ax7 in the preamp and an EL84 and it sounds like it does!
It is a great little box,and it will still put out a loud 5 watts when connected to a speaker. Also has a combination of active and passive EQ and a number of outputs. But is such a compact unit

Sound Quality : 10
I get an impressive combination pf pro sounds with this box and my Fender Precision! I can hear a BASS SOUND! also ,with the master up ,the power amp start to get into overdrive....very impressive indeed

Reliability : 10
built like a tank. I have had it for 3 years now

This is a real valve amp in a little box! There is not much gear like that one at all!it has lost of outputs, built in powerbreak an a very good active EQ,but it all makes sense once you look at the diagram on top of the chassis

Sound Quality : 10
That's where it gets interesting....I use that for BOTH bass and guitar, for bass it sounds killer, and for guitar I can achieve a killer blues sound, because it has a nice power amp distortion from the EL84!
This makes a killer tool because it can be used in so many scenarios, and it's such a small unit

Very intuitive bass preamp/recording amp. There is a gain knob and a master knob, as well as a general "tone" knob. You can get a huge range of very usable sounds just by turning these knobs. It also has three boost buttons (bass, mid, treble) that do exactly what you expect. There are several different outputs, depending on whether you are running it into a mixer, amp, etc. A diagram on top of the unit explains each option very clearly. It has a tube preamp section (12ax7) and a power amp section (el84). When recording, you can run through the tube power amp or bypass it by pushing a switch.

I use it for recording bass with a digital recording setup. I run it into a dbx compressor and a Hush noise reduction system before it gets to the recording gear. The tone of the B.A.T.T. is excellent, but pretty noisy due to the single coil pickups on my bass. (The Hush eliminates much of the noise.) The B.A.T.T. provides a beefy bass tone that sits perfectly in the mix; I rarely have to EQ the bass after recording. By comparison, my prior bass recordings sound weak and fuzzy. The B.A.T.T. can do any bass sound you want, from tube-y to solid state, from clean to overdriven.

Never had a problem. Seems to be built like a tank.

Never needed customer support but was able to download a manual from their website. Cool.

I have a pretty nice project studio with a lot of nice gear, and I have gone through a TON of gear over the years (G.A.S.). The B.A.T.T. is definitely a keeper. For the money, it does exactly what I want. Recording bass used to be a pain; no matter what I did the bass sounded crappy. The B.A.T.T. delivers pro bass tone with minimal tweaking. If it were stolen I'd try to track down another, but they seem to be pretty rare. I've never seen one other than my own.
