This unit has only one knob, and is completely simple to use. Put it at the end of your chain, then adjust the knob until your noise dissapears... DONE! The simplest piece of equipment I've ever bought, even a monkey could use it properly.

Sound Quality : 10
This Pedal does an effective job of getting rid of my noise. It didn't change my tone in any way, and does a superb job of keeping the attack and decay while still getting rid of the noise

Reliability : 10
This pedal is solid, it has never let me down.

Customer Support : 10
I had to order my pedal straight from the company, their support guys were friendly when they directed me to the sales department.

Overall Rating : 10
This is the best noise suppressor I've used to this day. I have used the rocktron HUSH system, and have used the BOSS NS-2... this is far superior to both those.

Not exactly a HUSH unit. Had a hard time figuring this piece of shit out.

Sound Quality : 1
I play metal, and am a total metalhead. Slayer, Zakk, all the good ones. I use a lot of great preamps. This thing sucked the tone right out.

Reliability : No Opinion
Don't know. Threw the thing down the stairs after about two minutes.

I called ISP and they said they were the guys who make some of the best PA stuff in the world, and have some new-fangled guitar system too. They claim they are the real Rocktron guys, but hey, who gives a shit? They are ISP now, aren't they?

Overall Rating : 1
Get some real noise reduction and buy yourself a HUSH unit. This is imitation junk!!!

Couldn't be easier! Plug your guitar in and turn the knob (there's only one) until the noise or hum goes away.

Alright, I play really rediculously heavy metal... so I know noise gates. I've owned or tried them all and this pedal is the best ever made. I actually use two gates in my signal chain: one before the preamp and one right after (in my fx loop). I'm using the Decimator before a Bogner Uberschall and it gives me back all the dynamics that I have been missing with my previous gates (Hush the pedal, Hush II, NS-1, MXR smartgate, etc). I love the thing. You can roll the volume back and the gate will remain open. The Decimator is very smooth, and will not "chatter" at all when closing. Instead you get a smooth fade out that is very musical. Even when set too high, the decimator sounds like the note is fading out naturally. I also play some blues and jazz, I have a nice strat and the Decimator will eliminate the hum from my single colis completely without destroying dynamics. There is no change in signal quality either.

Reliability : 10
Made like a Boss pedal. Made by the people from Rocktron. I trust it. You don't find more talented people to make guitar related products than ISP.

Customer Support : 10
Best I've ever delt with. Talked with the main man, Buck on the phone and he's been more than helpful to me. Everyone else at ISP that I get on the horn is really cool as well.

Overall Rating : 10
This really is the gate for people that hate noise gates. Every guitarist in every style should have one on their pedalboard even if only for emergencies. I've fed fuzzes into it, wahs, played with tons of dynamics, placed it everywhere in the signal chain, it's so musical. Can't say enough about the thing... Get one!

The Decimator has one knob, it doesn't get any easier than that. Simply adjust the threshold until the noise in gone and you're done. This product is a real improvement over any other noise reduction I've tried.

Sound Quality : 10
Sound quality is excellent. The Decimator is flawlessly transparent. I patch this chrome beauty in my effects loop of my head and it cleans up the amplifiers gain noise and any input noise from my external pedals.

Reliability : 10
Never had a problem and my friend who has had his for more than 1 year has never had a problem either.

Customer Support : 10
The people at ISP are perhaps the most knowledgable, friendly and helpful I've ever talked to. I called with a few questions about using my Decimator and how it works and now I know more about how this pedal than I wanted. Thanks ISP!

I play metal with huge amounts of gain. I have been playing for 8 years and I need this pedal to clean up my noise. I would buy this pedal again in a second. This is the best investment in my sound I have made. I can play chunky high gain chords and mute the strings with my hand and the Decimator provides absolute silence in between chords.

The Decimator was designed by the original inventor of the HUSH. I did an A/B with the Decimator and the HUSH pedal and have to tell you, the Decimator blows the HUSH away. I was told that the new HUSH pedal was not designed by the original inventor of the HUSH and this is why it simply doen't work like the old HUSH units. I was told by ISP that the original HUSH chip that was used in the old HUSH pedals is no longer available. The Decimator uses some kind of dual time response circuit that tracks your signal better than the original HUSH. You need to get the explaination from them, all I can say is this is the best pedal I've ever bought for my sound. Oh yeah, one more thing, I had a hard time finding ISP Technologies on line I will save you trouble if you need to contact them go to www.isptechnologies.com Cheers! Next I'm going to check out their PA gear too.

One Knob; footswitch. That's all there is and that's all you need.

Sound Quality : 10
Strat & Les Paul>Demeter compressor>ToneBone Classic>RMC2 wah>DECIMATOR>Maxon AD900>Kingsley custom amp

Things get noisy with the compressor and ToneBone, and the Decimator just simply gets rid of the noise. No noticeable effect on tone. Amazing!

Reliability : 10
Seems to be built like a tank.

I called ISP to ask some questions before I bought it. Ended up spending 10 to 15 minutes on the phone. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Didn't even try to sell me one.

Overall Rating : 10
I usually don't need a suppressor. But there are times (even at low volumes)when things are going full tilt and I wouldn't want to be without one. This is the one.

There is one knob and an on/off switch. It is incredibly easy to use and invented by the guy who invented the HUSH noise reduction pedal. It works better than my Rocktron HUSH IIC rackmount unit, although it is not stereo. ISP also makes a rackmount Decimator, by the way. Previously, I had a Carl Martin noise suppressor pedal. This is a lot more effective in getting rid of the hum but not the note decays.

Sound Quality : 10
Using with: Various electrics > Vox wah > Carl Martin compressor > Carl Martin eq > Big Briar Moogerfooger phaser > Voodoo Labs SparkleDrive > Boss TU-2 tuner > ISP Decimator > Carl Martin DeLayla delay > MESA Boogie S.O.B. > THD Hot Plate > Marshall 1960A.

I may replace the SparkleDrive with a Carl Martin Hot Drive and Boost I or II, and add a Carl Martin Trem O Vibe. The SparkleDrive and Compressor can get noisy, especially used together, and this seems to use artificial intelligence to clean up the sound. I don't know how "Time Vector Processing" works, and I know it sounds like hype but it works. Sound is transparent.

Reliability : 10
Sturdily built in a chrome pedal housing. It's on the heavy side, weight wise.

I don't know. I hope the company gets a name for itself, though. As it deserves one. Hence I'm writing this review.

I bought this at an annual blow-out tent sale from Russo Music in Trenton. I knew I wasn't satisfied with the Carl Martin Noise Terminator, so I took my chances. Glad I did, and regret I didn't also pick up a Little Lanelei amp.

Overall Rating : 10
I play an eclectic range of alternative rock and pop. Sometimes I get disgusted with effects and enjoy plugging straight in. This is one pedal I liked even without other effects, because it cleans up the sound coming out of a hot amp without artifacts. It's not a pedal I'll ever take out of my pedalboard, and the best noise reducer made, I believe.

It is a noise gate so.....it stops the hiss. Very easy to use.

Sound Quality : 10
My set-up is as follow- SG standard>vht valvulator>morley wah> stage tuner> ab box. I use a home made el84 powered amp for rhythm and a sol hot rod for lead. The home made amp has a zvex super hard on before it and I use the decimator in the effects loop. I makes it completely silent. It works better than the boss ns-2 because you can use it to silence a noisy preamp through tht effects loop.

Reliability : 10
It uses a boss type housing and it's chrome! I would depend on it to work for many years winthout fail.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't had to use it.
