Ease of Use : 2
The manual is pretty sparse on explaining exactly how to set it up to function and not cause very unintended tones, etc. It also does not warn you about issues where if you are mono you must be in channel 1 only and so on or it reacts with insane howling. After calling them they advised they have a high volume of set up related calls. That should clue them in that the manual sucks.

It's frankly horrible. I have a rig similar to John Petrucci's, Mesa Mk IV high gained, Effects in the rack that are in the effects loop, and pedals in the rack that are in front of the amp, switched in and out via midi. Used my pedal delay modeler and noted my replay of my loop was inaudible. Company explains well you must put your gtr directly into the gtr in of this unit to track the gtr. in doing so when you stop playing it gates. So any effect like a loop or long delay that runs when the gtr has stopped strumming is killed. Well that sux. Secod problem. Got excessive howling feedback. Company advises well they are touchy with Mesas. Say what? Had to send it back to get some shielding and other mods put into it.

Company says the decimator loops have to be right off the effect send of your amp, basically in front of the other effects again. So you kill pre amp hum, cool, but all the noise generated in your rack effects is there, so you end up adding another gate to kill that. Now that is just stupid frankly. If I pull it out and just put an old Rocktron Hush at the end of the effects loop I get perfectly killed noise and feedback...unit worth about $50 whereas this thing cost me $454. So It's hi tech yes and for an amp alone would work very well I think. But if you use effects it is relatively worthless. They keep telling me all of the famous people that use it but when I look at those rigs they are multi amps and little effects. Guys like Petrucci just use a Boss gate and live with it.

Reliability : 1
First unit I received had a stuck button. Had to return it. Second unit went from working to ridiculous howling by the second day we used it. It also had to be returned.

Customer Support : 10
They are very nice people. Buck is the designer of the Rocktron Hush units and now at ISP these units. you get tot actually speak to him and they are very responsive. The technology is just of very limited flexibility.

Overall Rating : 2
I have been playing for 32 years, rock, metal, use Mesa Mk IV and 50 calibers, PRS Ltd and Customs, and high end Ibanez 7s. I am seeking a full refund on this latest unti and will revert to Rocktron basic gates.
