Ease of Use : 9
Very easy to use. In fact, the first two controls don't seem to change the sound too much. As long as you crank the third knob up it will give you a basic quack.

Sound Quality : 9
I'm using it with a MIM 72 Thinline reissue (low output humbuckers) and a HRD. It's fairly quite. Responds well to your attack. Have to hit notes hard to get a strong effect. Otherwise it sucks tone and sounds very dark and muted. But, for a limited use, it sounds quite good - on clean setting w/ hard attack in mid and upper registers. It won't give you any Mutron-like swirls, just a basic quack. Cool so long as you don't wear out that one sound...

Reliability : No Opinion
It looks like cheap plastic thing - but it works.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
This thing is way cool - and way cheap - if you don't want to take the time to learn to use a manual wah pedal and don't want to shell out $100-200 for a true envelope filter type auto wah. On balance, it's a neat little change up for lead work and coloring. But it is very limited in it's application.

Ease of Use : 7
It takes some tweaking to find a sweat spot that matches your picking style but it was worth the time spent. Less complicated than my Dano-Wah but more than my Cry Baby wah. The ease of use part comes in when you don't need to rock the pedal with your foot, just stomp and wah..

Sound Quality : 8
I have a Gibson Sonex 180, A Silvertone Amp-in-Guitar guitar, A Cort Mustang copy, and a Biscayne strat copy (heavily modded) and for amps a Lab Series L5 and a Guild Thunder I tube amp. The sound is way better than I expected for this plastic series of pedals. I have the tube screamer in this series that I modified to the TS808 specs so I have to say these are better sounding than looking pedals for sure. Not a noisy pedal at all. I would compare the tone to Jerry Garcia in "Fire on the Mountain," or Edie Brickel and the New Bohemians on that one tune they had a hit with.

Reliability : 7
I have had my Tube Screamer for a few years so I think despite the flimsy case it will hold up with some care. I would use on a gig without a backup but of course I have 2 other "real" wah pedals..

Overall Rating : 7
I play metal, classic rock, blues, reggae.. I've been playing for over 25 years. I use a J Station, a Digitech RP100, The Soundtank Tubescreamer, DOD Grunge Pedal, Danelectro TBone Distortion, and a few others I can't recall. If it was lost I would buy another for one dollar at another yard sale (fat chance). It is a pretty musical pedal and gives a pro quality tone for super cheap.

It has knobs. Twiddle them.

Sound Quality : 7
I use a Mexican Tele with a Fender Princeton amp. It gives a nice synthy tone on full whack with rapid hammer-ons and pull-offs, which is what I use it for. Works well playing Duran Duran and Prince type stuff too. It mainly sounds rubbish when the range is high.

Reliability : 9
I had mine around 2 years. No problem at all.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
I play indie rock with lotsa FX. I use it on one song for weird noises. I have been playing for 7 years and I own a DOD TEC4X which I recently stopped using because it has the shortest power supply cable in the world and no battery power. I also use an Ibanez flanger, a Marshall Supervibe chorus and a Boss DD-5 Delay.

The best thing about this is that even when the battery is low it sounds ace.

Not hard to use, but needs more time than an overdrive to figure out. Just take the time to tweak it and it will be done and set for a long time!

Sound Quality : 9
Not really noisy for an auto wah, warm sounding wich I like. Like I'd expect form any auto wah/enveloppe filter it's not at its best on full on distortion but it's really nice on clean.

Reliability : 10
I would, got this as a fool around toy but I'd since I baby my stuff.
As far as the plastic issue goes you can always housed this in another box if you ever get a problem and it will solve the plastic issue.

No more email service wich sucks... wake up it's 2001!

Great on funk(of course duh!) Been playing for 10+yrs.. my gear http;//www.angelfire.com/pq/glorbz/BunkerStudio.html
Stolen or lost I'd try to find another one since this is now discontinued an Ibanez stopped making any auto filter or auto wah(for now anyway)... I might have to look elsewhere if not able to find one used again. Compared it to others like Guyatone wah rocker thought it was to bright for my need, checked also the DOD but made up my mind too late as someone else bought it before me(the old FX 25 not the new FX25B) It truly is helpfull in spicing up my funk leads and clean rhythm... Try it with a compressor before it and a flanger after it... sounds quite great in that setup(comp used CP-9, flanger used FL-9 both by Ibanez) For the price I paid it's a sweet deal not to let go by if you're looking for an auto wah.

You need IQ 15 or higher... pretty simple

Sound Quality : 9
Bit noisy, but sounds great. Best way to plug it after preamp, other way it might be weak.

Reliability : 8
It doesn't seem to be reliable, but for the present it's works well.

Never dealt w/ 'em.

I play mostly jazz, blues, funky. I'm playing for 6 years. I use it with my Fender Squire Telecaster, Marshall 9000 series preamp and ZAX zva-15 combo. Never forget to use it as a spice - carefully! If it were stolen or lost, I'd buy new one (or used one)

This pedal is easy to get the hang of and the manual explains everything perfectly. Anybody can figure out the knobs and use it.

Sound Quality : 9
I use this pedal along with many others and this one is my favorite. I play an Ibanez RG320 and i use a Crate Half-Stack. I get very little noise when the pedal is on so that pretty good. The effects sound great as long as you keep a fresh battery in often. It sounds great for playing No Sex by Limp Bizkit and several other oldy songs it'll sound great with.

Reliability : 10
I have never had a single problem with this pedal and i would use this pedal on 90 gigs without a back-up.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
I play the heaviest s*it out there and it sounds good to throw the wah in every now and then and i have used it on several gigs and the audience always looks at me as if im making magic when turn the pedal on. ive been playing for 5 years i have a Strat and Ibanez and a Les Paul. This pedals has helped me with music so many times and if it were stolen i would buy a new one then track down the guy that stole it and beat his ass then get my old one back.

Well the damn thing has nothing written on it. So you have to look through a multi-languaged manual. Other than that piece of cake.

Sound Quality : 10
This is a pretty good pedal. It isn't "the" auto wah, but it does what it's good at. I like this pedal a lot since it isn't just your good old simple envelope filter. It's a goofed up, little distortion hinted, auto wah. Which is cool if your into it. I like to use it with a DOD Corrosion metal and a Ibanez FL9 Flanger. Or use it with a DOD Octoplus (For synth not octaves, I got a OC-2 for that) and a BOSS DS-1. If you add some effects to it, it can sound like a whack ass bullfrog with the hiccups. Pretty fun live.

Reliability : 3
It's plastic. I wouldn't depend on it at all. But they are enexpensive pedals. So you could buy more.

Overall Rating : 8
Well I play hardcore, funked up, loud, dumb poop-hed shit. And for that style it's good for it. But I just wished that Ibanez still made them like the "9" series. The plastic just ain't cutting it.

Its pretty easy to use. you gotta look in the manual to find out what knob does what because they arent printed on the pedal. It also took me a minute to find out where the hell the battery goes. other than that, a dumbass could figure out how to use this thing... and I am one!

Sound Quality : 9
If you're expecting a huge, orgasmic, bubbly, Q-tron, Mu-tron, DOD envelope filter... Your not going to get what you want. Its like none of those, which isnt necessarily bad, its just that it has a very unusual sound to it. Imagine having a wah turned on set in the middle of its sweep, it goes a little bit up and a little bit down but never makes the full sweep. But thats not a bad thing. Its very wierd. it filters to your picking attack like a normal envelope filter though. I love this thing. Its not noisey at all and doesnt eat up batteries. If you want to use this unit with distortion you have to lay off on the sensitivity, but if you want a nice clean quack, you then need to turn the know up. No one that I know of uses this thing, and I really dont know why I got it. I just play Mr. Bungle, Korn, Deftones, Incubus, LB, (hed)pe type crap. This thing sounds the best with a DOD Gonkulator, it sounds like your amp is broken, covered in feces, and has just arrived off Satan's dark, winged charriot.

Reliability : No Opinion
Well its made of plastic and looks like a toy, I would depend on it with my life.. ha ha. I dont know why Ibanez builds these soundtanks like this, kinda dumb. But I'm not one of those idiots who jump on their pedals.

Overall Rating : 10
It hard to describe the kind of music I play. Like Hardcore, Punk stuff but also bunglesque, funk, wierdo bumpkin shit, with a hip-hop vibe. Its a good match. If you want to know my whole rig, e-mail me and I will gladly tell you, its to long to list here. I wish this this was built better, and had a more prominent vowel-like wah to it, but then again its not a fucking Q-Tron! Your not going to be Bootsy Collins or Flea with this... What you will be is a super sexy bumpkin like me. SB99
