It's not very hard to use, but it sounds like crap.

Sound Quality : 1
This thing is a piece of garbage. Seriously.
My rig - Fender USA 70's w/hot rails in the bridge > MXR Comp > TS808 > Modded Peavey 212 Valveking (Celestion Vintage 30's).
I put it everywhere in the chain and it just blows. The wah effect is hardly noticeable, just makes your guitar sound like crap. Darkens the tone, can be noisy, wah effect is just plain annoying. Why is there distortion on this pedal?

Reliability : No Opinion
It probably won't ever break which means you can always count on it to ruin your tone.

Been playing 15 years, had all kinds of stuff. I didn't know what to expect - maybe all auto wah's are this stupid. Maybe I got a bad unit. When you hit a note, it wahs (a little bit, even w/ "sensetivity" cranked all the way up). It wahs way more with a big chord than with a single note which is bad for solos. It darkens and muffles the whole tone. It's noisy and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have true bypass. I don't use wah very much but when I want it, I certainly don't want it to sound like this.

It's quite easy to get a good effect, but it depends on the power of your pickups. If you often change of guitar, you'll have to change your settings. There is a lot of things to do with it and I do'nt use everything. Wah mode is the one I use most. LPF mode is a filtered mode, quite an enigma.

Sound Quality : 9
Good sounding, clean, no noise, a good bypass. The effect is less easy to get when you play a weak vintage strat type guitar than a powerful one. The sounds with disto are agressive and I prefer use another OD pedal after this one.

In wah mode, you can have a good range of tone and effect adjustment. The sound is quite warm, never too agressive or cold. I like it, it does the job well and you can have a lot of fun if you want to use all the possibilities of this pedal.

Reliability : 10
Built like a Tank, good tone lock system.

manual of use on the web, no technical problem.

I play quite every kind of music, I like this pedal because I can get that superb guitar sound on the album Louissiana (Eddie Louiss) .
Only one thing, it could have been more interesting to have a footswitch to change quickly from fixed wah effect to autowah. On the pedal you have to turn a little knob an adjust the effect amount ... impossible on stage.

This pedal has 4 tone control knobs. It doesn't seem like it would be complicated, but acheiving the desired sound will take some time.

Sound Quality : 8
This auto wah has the capability to produce many different sounds. It also has an added distortion, which i dont use, as i feel it sounds better with another distortion pedal. My setup is- boss distortion, digitech death metal, Ibanez autowah, boss super chorus, digitech delay and a hyperphaze going into the vox ad30 amplifier.

This wah is a good autowah dont get me wrong...but it seems to change the tone of the guitar, not nessacarily in a bad way. Its very quiet when off and very clear when on. I also have the dunlop crybaby and i prefer this to it.

Reliability : 10
ive gigged with it at small shows nothing big. Definetly reliable. Built to last!

Overall Im very happy with this pedal. My pedal board only powers 6 pedals and i have about 10 but this one will stay on it for good. If it wasnt for the slight tone change it would be a perfect 10.

PS- use this pedal to play zepplins whole lotta love solo itll scream!!!

Auto wahs/ filters can be frustrating to some. Take your time with it and you will find some useable tones.

This pedal is a fun auto wah. The distortion feature is an added bonus for sure. I have gotten good tonesusing this pedal on bass and electric guitar. I think it works best with an adaptor as mine seems to drain batteries quickly. I wouldnt buy it brand new but for under $30 its really cool. It made me want to check out other pedal in this series. I will prol' buy the echo/delay next.

Manual is definitely helpful. The pedal has more options than I needed so I got a little lost at first. Easy after you flip through the manual and move some knobs. I gave it a 7 for degree of difficulty right out of the box. It gets a 10 once you're familiar with it. I should mention my first one was faulty. I got a replacement and it was a lot easier to figure it out once I had one that worked properly.

Sound Quality : 10
Great. Quiet when off. Responsive and clean when on.

Reliability : 7
So far so good. 6 months in. I use it to save my knee when wah is needed for rhythm. Rocking my crybaby back and forth for a whole song can really work over the left knee. Ibanez is a reliable product in general. I'd use it without the crybaby. Touch sensitivity is outstanding so I even use it for leads on occasion. It tracks your picking dynamics very, very well. Footswitch is fussy. I'll give it a 7 in anticipation of problems down the road with the switch.

Good pedal. Affordable. 2 demerits for the footswitch. You have to hit it just right - dead center with a decent amount of force, or it'll engage and disengage. Or won't engage at all. Once it's on it stays on, though.

Very easy to get the pedal working right out of the box. But it may take some time to get the sound you're looking for with all of the options. Also, if you are trying to dial in a great sound, it may take you half an hour or so of noodling around.

Sound Quality : 10
To get the sound I needed out of this pedal, I just ran a stock Tele with a humbucker in the neck position to a stock Deluxe Reverb and the AW7 in between. That's it. I got exactly what I was looking for.
The bonus about this pedal is if you are going for a really obvious "auto wah" sound, think Jerry Garcia during Fire On the Mountain or Estimated Prophet, it's so easy to get with the added distortion. The distortion really accetuates the wah sound. The distortion also sounds pretty good, kind of like a cross between a TS9 and a Fuzz Face.

Reliability : No Opinion
Don't know. I have other Ibanez pedals in this series, they're pretty good to me but friends have had problems with them. So the jury's still out on this one.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Again haven't needed them yet.

Overall Rating : 10
If you like the auto wah as an effect, you'll love this pedal. I just wanted that Jerry Garcia auto wah sound from the 70's and got it in spades. This auto wah is way better sounding than the auto wah on the purple Line 6 pedal, mainly because of the built in distortion. This pedal would probably suck with just the auto wah alone, or just the distortion alone, but together they're really dynamic.

Dude, if you dont get this thing, i'd be suprised you even found the egg (try to figure that one out)

Sound Quality : 9
Great wah-like sound.

For the guys who dont know what an autowah does; the harder you hit, the more wah you get (so you regulate it with you fingers instead of your foot)
I'd just like to regulate the length of the wah, but i havent figured that out yet.

Reliability : 10
Very reliable, a bit touchy perhaps but indestructable.

Its made of metal, so that sure beats my plastic zoom606 anytime

I bet you get a new one the second it broke down.

I'm getting into the whole funky/blues type of thing, but it works with any style of music. It just brings a whole new dimension to your tone regardless the effect your using

Once again, your a dumb-ass if you cant figure it out.

Sound Quality : 10
I just received this pedal but out of all the wahs and the auto-wahs i tried this pedal FAR surpases them all. sounds great the distortion settings are great. The wah+distortion settings is excellent. The distortion has loads of sustain and full sounding. The Low Pass Filter is great for funk and the wah switch is great for the wahs. Cry Baby sounding when the right settings are applied.

Reliability : 7
Problems here to an extent. I have previsously owned an Ibanez Smash Box. Apparently they made some changes to the springs inside because in my smash box they are out front and LONG. in the new AW7, they are built into the pedal. Anyway, this causes the pedal to sometimes not turn on or go on and when you lift your foot up it shuts off. You have to hit it just right for it to go on. And I thougt my Smash Box was bad with that, this is worse..........Maybe i just got unlucky with it, cuz it might not do this for you.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 9
If it werent for the reliablility I'd give this pedal a 10, but alas, they have to make a shitty toggle switch design that turns it on. Anyay, besides the Reliability this pedal is the best Auto-Wah on the market in my opinion and compares with the manual Wah pedals. I had bought a Morely Wah pedal (wasnt classic wah or anything, it just sad wah) and this doesnt compare to it. This pedal kicks MAJOR ass over the morley, but then again, you might like your distortion sounding like shit when you have both of them on. I'd buy it again if it was stolen, yeah.......

SIMPLE:4 knobs, 2 switches.

Sound Quality : 9
Good sounding if u use another distortion. lack of tone control makes it hard to get anything other than trebly fuzz out of it. the wah sweep is good cos u can set it to return to bass mid or high and any thing in between. if u set sensitivity high, and 2nd control low, play quiet than load, to get cool throbbing noises.

Reliability : No Opinion
Seems solid. tone lok knobs lock knobs in the case when not in use so they cant break off. little but a nice touch.

Really Quiet - only gets noisy on high-gain settings. The wah is awesome and the LOw Pass Filtyer is good for those funky sounds. The distortion is great - dripping with sustain.
