Drive, tone, level knobs - how hard can that be?

Sound Quality : 8
This isn't a distortion pedal; anyone who buys it for that purpose is bound to be disappointed. It's an overdrive pedal, meant to simulate what your old tube amp would sound like cranked to 11. And it does this very well. It's not perfect, and I wish there were a few more options for tone, but it does what it does and sounds great doing it.

Reliability : 9
I've never had a problem with it failing. Always gotten a great tone after a little fiddling (every room is different). Only thing that's gone wrong is where one of the knobs got cracked, fell off, and disappeared. Knob underneath still works just fine, and I can even tell what direction it's "pointing".

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to call.

I use this with the rock/metal bands I play with in conjunction with a SansAmp Classic Overdrive pedal. Usually I have one or the other running, but sometimes I'll use both for really strange effects. I'd be in big trouble if this either failed or got stolen - I don't know where I could find another one! It's really a musical tone, and no matter how harsh you get it it still sounds like a bass. One thing that happens with a lot of overdrive/distortion pedals is that as soon as you turn it on, all of the bass frequencies disappear. Ain't the case with this one! I bought this on the recommendation of a fellow bassist, and boy am I glad I did! And at $39, it was hard to go wrong, eh what?

I had to post something here after reading the previous review which described this as a piece of s**t. It probably isn't right for your average metal merchant...but then this pedal is a valve sound emulator and not a fuzz box!...and its very good at what it does. Yes its very easy to use - Drive, tone and level controls...all of which work as they should.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using it at the back end of a Boss compressor and an old Pearl twin parametric eq...used carefully in conjunction with these and it sounds awesome...like an old bass stack...I use it sparingly to get just a hint of vintage style overdrive.

Reliability : 10
It has to be reliable...I bought it very recently but it has to be 20 years old...so if that aint reliable then what is?

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never dealt with Ibanez so no comment.

Overall Rating : 10
I'm an old timer playing rock and r&b originals and covers...still gigging regularly. I use several P-Basses...my regular bass is a 1982 Jap Squier P-Bass JV '57 reissue (first edition - full Fender decal)...It goes via a Samson transmitter and pedal board to a Peavey XP 300watt bass head and an early Trace 1X15 cab. The BS10 is a welcome addition to my setup and does exactly what I wanted it to do.

Had it fo 6 weeks, used it 3 times inbetween, then the plastic switch in the housing was broken and had fallen into it.
