Well you can't get too confused with three knobs and words saying volume, tone, and Gain. For those who aren't creative a manual would help but I guess it's best to adjust to what sounds good than what a manual says to adjust to. That's how you develop your own personal sound.

Sound Quality : 10
We already use the Black noise pedal which has already got us a cool transistor sound on both the guitar (6string) and bass (4string).
It's not too noisy which is good. I like the effect it gives. It's really a cool electronic sound. Not too bassy but very computer like with a lot of high ends and static.

Reliability : 10
We depend on this pedal as much as we do the black noise pedal.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with sales people.

We play Industrial Metal. It gives us that static distortion with out alot of low-end. We've been using this pedal for 2 months and use it as much as half our songs along with the Black noise pedal. since they discontinued the soundtank model I'll protect ours with my life. I love that static distorion sound it gives without alot of low-end. Other pedals give us too much low-end and we sound like other bands, but we don't want that, we want a different sound so we use the the Black noise and Cyberdrive which makes people heads turn becuase they say they're tired of the typical distortion sound.A possible Black Noise pedal and a Cyberdrive pedal made for bass would be cool so I wouldn't have to keep using the guitar ones.

Quite easy to use. Only three knobs, but they are a bit awkward. It is difficult to get them set at all the right outputs.

Sound Quality : 2
I play a Gibson SG through a Marshall JTM 60 and also a Wah and a Boss SD-1 (Super Overdrive). This pedal does not sound good at all. I have tried to set it where I am playing clean-ish and then stomp on it to solo a bit or play in some octaves, and that sounds a little less than mediocre. It is a little better to use this pedal for playing single lines. It ruins your chords-yes, EVEN POWER CHORDS!!! The low-end sound is not even present, and the high sound just doesn't let your chords come out. You hear a lot more muddy or tinny fuzz than any sort of tone color. I'm sure if you messed around with it and maybe glued the dials in place when you found the absolute PERFECT sound, it might be a little better for you. It does have a weird sort of Wah effect when you mess with the tone. With lots of tone, it sounds so tinny it makes your ears bleed, and as you go down through the tone scale, it sounds a bit like a cheap wah being pulled back. Muffles all of your sounds. Gives a pretty terrible buzzing when not playing, too. I'll stick with the Boss (unless of course I can get my hands on an Ibanez TubeScreamer).

Reliability : 4
It seems kind of solid-FOR A PIECE OF PLASTIC! I have not kicked it, dropped it, or thrown it out of a moving vehicle yet, but if I did, I imagine it would not last very long.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never bothered to even waste my time to call about this piece.

I WOULD NOT buy this product again, or maybe I wouldn't even take it if someone were giving it away. It really is just that bad. I would not compare this product to any others that I have used. This is a kid's toy for when he is using an old Fender with a cheap practice amp and wants tons of distortion to piss mom off. I do not, and would not reccommend this product. Peace

I'm a novice player and this pedal is very easy to use. The manual though, isn't very good (but it does come in multiple languages). Then again, it's a pedal with three nobs (figure it out)

Sound Quality : 8
Here is the thing. I see people complaining because it seems to suck as a guitar pedal. This may be true, but I use it with an Ibanez TB25 amp and it seems ok. But It really shines when I use it with my Ibanez 400sr bass going through a Hartke 30 combo. I also tried using it in tandem with a boss chorus pedal (ok, a little funky but I'm experimenting). Alone the cyberdrive on bass has a smooth (smooth becuase it's on a bass) yet gritty (a definite metal sound) sound that I do like alot. I'm not trying to emulate anyone right now but my influences are Geddy Lee, Steve Harris, Sting, John McVie, Eddie Jackson and as of late Fieldy(even though he's just slapping I like the sounds he gets from his 5 string)

Reliability : 8
It's not like my Boss, but I'm not using it as a hammer. I think as with all things. If you take care of it, it will last. To answer the question, It is a solid pedal and is good for the money. I think Boss is a little on the pricey side.

I've called them once for something else and they were very nice

Overall Rating : 8
I like playing rock and metal so the pedal is a good compliment for my style. I've played on and off since I was 19 (I'm 30 something now). As I wrote before I own an Ibanez 400sr bass (Love it) w/ Hartke combo amp and an Ibanez GAX 70 guitar (cheezzy, but a lot af fun to play around with and very inexpensive) with an Ibanez Toneblaster 25r guitar amp (ok so I like the company, maybe one day I'll move over to Fender...nah). For those of you wondering, I chose the pedal (no, not for the obvious reason) for the price, simplicity, It looks cool and I do like the sound. If I wanted to improve it I would have bought a different pedal. Like I said befok for guitar, really cool for bass. 'nuff said.

I just borrowed this from a friend about two months ago and it's been standing on top of my amp as a paper weight for a month and a half. It SUCKS. It's easy to use (the tone knob is a bit fucked up to use - it kinda sounds like a wah knob - a bad one).

Sound Quality : 1
This pedal is a complete joke. It is nothing more than WEAK. You can either get a bluesy distortion (if you use a reverb afterwards) or a girlie overdrive, but in either case it swallows your playing dynamics. I even tried it with a Boss DS-2 in series, and it didn't even did it's job turning the Boss on. Piece of plastic shit. Oh, no noise. :)

Reliability : 8
Looks sturdy enough, but it's plastic (I wouldn't kick it like I would gladilly kick a Boss).

Overall Rating : 1
I play all sorts of music, from blues to metal, passing by punk and grunge, and this thing isn't good for any (maybe for someone who needs his/her playing dynamics swallowed). I would look for something better (and believe me, almost ANYTHING is better than this).

Uh, what does gain mean? Come on, it's basically a distortion with a a funky tone control.

Sound Quality : 9
It does it's job. That's all I want. Other people complain about not getting enough low end, but I've had no problem with low end loss, and I play 5 string bass. Has a very cool cocked wah sound that the tone control sweeps. This sounds great when used with other effects and can yeild very unique and interesting sounds.

Reliability : 4
It's plastic, it was about $30 used, who cares?

Overall Rating : 8
If your looking for a different and unique sound, this can get it. But don't go expecting all out fuzz death distortion sludge fest. That's not what it's for. If you need a nasally or cocked wah sound that really stands out in the mix, this is it.

3 knobs,thats it..

Sound Quality : 1
the sound is weak and is not what i was looking for at all.I need something more kick ass, with a lot of hardcore chug sounds when the strings are muted.like rammsteins guitar sound or even the beautiful people manson tone.something that produces a lot of harmonics.well, this is clearly not what i need, maybe i'll try a metalzone, surely that is savage enough.this pedal might be good for christian or country bands(which are pussified suck anti-metal bands for faggs).

Reliability : 1
i would not use it because its weak....

Overall Rating : 1
i play twisted industrial riffs with a lot of palm muting and a throw in with some octave shapes.I also include some good old harmonics like the song zero.i wander how what kind of effect they have for the solo in that song!!!!!!!i hope to find the hardcore sound of bands like rammstein, pantera, manson, and some good old nin.so i better destroy this pedal and start looking for a real distortion pedal effect.which is worthy of my thrashing standards.i was fucked over on the price!!!!!

Very easy to use three knobs, one pedal... basically plug and play.

Sound Quality : 7
the sound on this pedal is average. It is quite difficult to get a good low end out of the pedal, when pluged from the guitar into the pedal into the amp. but if you go through the effects loop, it sounds much fuller.

Reliability : 6
soudering on the input and output jacks broke, but I reapired them myslef without a problem. other than that I have had no problems

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them

Overall Rating : 7
I bought this pedal from a friend really cheap. It was not my pedal of choice, but it does the job pretty well.
