Easy to use until the pedal won't toggle on and off with one press of the pedal. After about 8 years of moderate use the unit started having trouble toggling on and off. Had to replace it. I bought a Boss super chorus. Hope it lasts

Setup? yawn. Fender Jaguar 66 re-issue made by Japanese people (love it. Arigato!). Effects?(always changing)Boss NS-2> Boss LS-2 >Loop1-Boss PW-10 Vwah> Boss SD-1> Keeley DS-1. Loop2-EHXmicropog> EHX>metalmuff.> Boss DD-3> Ibanez CF-7> Boss RV-5> LaneyVC-50 + Guyatone Reverb Custom. Both Amps on clean channel with a touch of gain.
I play shoegaze guitar. in the style of: my bloody valentine/swervedriver/ride/chapterhouse etc.
I needed something digital sounding on my pedalboard and i wasn't disapointed with the CF-7. It's like a rack quality chorus + flanger in one. I mostly use the Chorus. I'm using it in stereo with two amps. I read the other reviews and no-one mentions stereo?!? it has two outputs for 2 amps...if you're disapointed with the sound thru one...try 2! practice amps even whatever! If i only heard this pedal in mono i wouldn't be happy either. i give the chorus a 9. It's better than my boss CE-3 and CH-1....and i really like Boss. Chorus is a weird effect though...to me it always sounds un-natural. But isn't that the point of effects? to EFFECT the sound of your guitar and amp...I dislike reading reveiws that say: "it ruins my guitar and amp tone!!!" I have a solution for those cats: PLUG YOUR GUITAR STRAIGHT INTO YOUR AMP!!! and stop reviewing effect pedals. Haha.

This is where tough guys write "if it got stolen and i caught the guy..." How boring!!! Get a life! And when you do...tell me how to get a life. Seriously! i need one. I'm writing a pedal review FFS.
Don't buy this pedal just for the flanger...or the Wack'd feature...I think "Wack'd" is a very appropriate name for THAT switch.
I'm 35...been playing guitar for 20 years. You really wanted to know that didn't you? The CF7 is as good as any Boss chorus...which some people believe to be the standard. As for the flanger it's not my thing but it's not totally horrible...it's just as aweful as every other flanger i've ever heard. Peace and Love 90's britpop style!

Pretty easy to use, despite the misnomer "WACKED" being used in place of "HI-SPEED", which is mostly what it does. WACKED doubles the max SPEED available, as well as increases the maximum DELAY TIME. If you find yourself lost when switching between NORMAL and WACKED, turn down the SPEED and DELAY TIME to get back to a more "normal" sound and tweak from there.
Once you figure that bit out, the pedal is as easy to use as any other chorus/flange pedal you'll come across.

Playing the CF7 with various custom Strat-copies into tube amps. Sounds good, pretty normal setup.
Effect is a little noisy when various controls are moved, but they settle down after a few seconds. There's a little hiss when the effect is engaged, but not much of a concern unless you're running it into a distortion or other gain-boosting stage.
There are two main contributors to the brittle sound the CF7 has in its stock configuration. The first is the op amps (other than the LFO op amp). Stock, they sound flat and brittle. I swapped IC1 with a Burr Brown OPA2134PA to get the high-impedance JFET input near the effect input, and then put two JRC4558D op amps in place of the JRC4580 chips for IC2 and IC3. This brought the much-needed mids back into the tone. After that, I replaced every 1.0uF electrolytic cap (including the tantalum in C7) and 0.47uF electrolytic cap with equivalent film caps. This brought the bass and life back into a rather flat, filtered-sounding tone.
The second issue is with the digital delay part of the circuit when used in chorus mode. The delay has a real hard "digital" edge to it that is difficult to subdue. I put a couple of 0.047uF capacitor shunts to ground on the outputs of the M50198D digital delay chip to darken the output of the chip, which helped. However, if you're looking for the sweet, mushy chorus you'll get with a vintage CE-2 or similar, you really can't get that out of the CF7. The chorus effect (with the aforementioned mods) sounds better, but still sounds digital. It's not a bad sound at the end, but is not really a great chorus effect either.
So the chorus can be made decent, but with the aforementioned mods, the flange part of the CF7 becomes quite good. For this reason, I use the CF7 primarily as a flanger and rely on my modded Daphon E20CH for its sweet, CE2-like-but-better chorus tones.
I can't split my rating in this category, so I'll break it out here.

Very well built. Everything inside is screwed to the chassis...no floating boards anywhere. Should last as long as the other ToneLok pedals I've had over the years, some of which I still have. Those pedals still play like they did when I got them years ago.

Ibanez has schematics/parts lists for the ToneLok series available on their website, which helps immensely when trying to mod these pedals. Given that, which is better than BOSS/Roland, I'd give them a strong thumbs-up on customer support.
As for warranty support, I'll never get the chance to use it, as I usually mod my pedals in some way as soon as I play them for a few weeks.

If you're prepared to heat up your soldering iron, the Ibanez CF7 can be made into a nice little Flanger and reasonably-good Chorus. Stock, the CF7 is brittle and harsh and is of little use beyond using it for high-rate vibrato-like effects used for ambient fills.
So once again, I'll split my overall rating as follows:
Stock CF7: 5
Modded CF7: 7

I use mediocre to good guitars (good being '52. reissue telecaster in
my book). Current amp of choice is Roland Cube 60 for its great clean
tones.
The bypass isn't great, be warned. No tone suck, but a little digital
weirdness is perceived. The chorus is abysmally bad in my opinion.
Maybe the worst I've ever heard.
The flanger is polite and usable, and proper settings can produce
a much nicer chorus than the chorus setting itself.
Now the reason I'm writing this review is a fabulous ringmod sound
I was able to get: the settings are flanger/krazy switch on;
all knobs on 10, but the delay time can be adjusted to taste.
A warm, fuzzy, gonky ringmod sound that's allways in tune.

I've also got the de7 delay (great, great pedal, incredible for
the money). They've both been kicked around and/or dropped plenty
of times, and the worst I've been able to inflict on them is
light scratches across the knobs (no, being "hidden" inside the
box didn't help). So, pretty reliable, but the tiny switch looks
flimsy. For the money, though...

Hmm, usable flanger and a fab ring mod.
Pretty robust and reliable. Good times for the bucks.
The crappening of the overall sound is a bit of a let-down.
I'm thinking I'll be getting a true bypass loop, something
small and cheap like the one mr. Keeley makes.

Two effects rolled into one? Forget about it. The only usable sound i found was a vibrato (chorus in wack'd mode, I believe) that made my bottleneck/e-bow-efforts sound like a theremin. The flange is weak and only souns halfway decent if you put a RAT in front of it.
Worst thing about it: even if it's turned off your guitar sounds like Andy Summers going de-doo-doo-doo-de-da-da-da - bypass is no good.

I bought it used, so there was no manual, but it's as easy as any other modulation effect. The Regeneration control doesn't effect the Chorus sound, only the flanger - that confuses some people I know. The only thing that really interferes with the ease of use is the footswitch, which is only slightly more reliable then the ones on my 80's DOD boxes.
Sound Quality
:
7
I am an 80's DOD freak and buy and restore every one I can find. I usually find some good sounds with a modded Boss CS-3 - modded DS-1 - DOD Overdrive Preamp - Grunge - CS7 - and finally a DOD digital delay or Akai Headrush. I like Fender Telecasters combined with either a Peavey Bandit (for durability) or a Fender Bassman (for tone). The CS7 has a thin, digitized, brash tone that is easily offensive to the ear, but often fits in perfectly with the music. Guitarists sometimes forget that the guitar is not the one and only constituent to good music. A thicker sounding chorus could make the music feel too weighty when combined with the bass, but the CS7's thin crackle floats above a band mix in a very Radiohead sort of way. I still have it on the same arbitrary setting that I used in the store, and it does a good job of giving chord parts some movement. The Flanger makes the usual cool-but-useless sounds that a flanger makes, just not as cooly as most other flangers. I used the Wack'd mode to record one overdub part a while ago - it's OK, I guess. My DS-1 set to a slight Marshall-y snap and running into this pedal makes by far the best sound (remember the intro to Hell's Bells?)
Reliability
:

The footswitch is iffy, as are the mode switches. So far, no problems, but I don't think this pedal is near as well made as a Boss (the internal stomp switch is the size of a grain of rice). This thing eats batteries for breakfast, and sometimes has seconds. It draws 85 milliamps, about ten times as much as must pedals. That being said, I'm used to 80's DODs, which usually stop working for no reason - at least this thing breaks for a reason. The Bucket Brigade chips in this thing are very sensitive to voltage spikes and there's no internal regulation, and I'm constantly aware that it is one surge away from death. Chorus is not an important part of my sound, so this pedal is the only one that isn't backed-up.

No opinion, but I'm not one to run whining to the company anyway. If something breaks, I can usually fix it myself.

I usually play laid-back jazzy rock with copious amounts of delay. I've come to really love the thin sound of this and other digital effects. My playing is very scruffy, and analog effects can make it sound like I don't know what I'm doing. It mixes well with a little bit of grind from the Overdrive Preamp or the DS-1, but is useless with high gain distortion. It is mostly religated to random noise-making when I play crazy dissonance with my Sonic Youth-esque band. I chose this over a EH Small Clone because it was $20 cheaper and I didn't want people to see me with my Fender Mustang, DS-1, Small Clone and think I was just another Kurt Cobain ripoff. Currently, it is filling the space on my pedal board until I can find a good DOD box to make my life complete.

Ease of use: 8: pretty easy, except getting good ring modulator sounds
when using the delay knob, with the flanger on "wacked".
The manual couldn't be any more minimal: one piece of paper with 4 languages expaining only the most basic characteristics.

Setup: Wormoth strat (SD hot rails in neck, and lace gold sensors in mid and bridge positions); Epiphone korina wood SG; old 1970'2 Hoyer(like a Fender Jaguar); and a Samick Telecaster ->Johnson J-station-> Ibanez CF7-> Crate 20 watt vintage club, tube amp.
Not that noisy.
The effects are strong but are very synthetic feeling. Definately "colors" your sound.
The Chorus: Gets deep but somehow doesn't get "lush", kind of synthetic, alot of options, though. I have gotten only a few useable sounds out of the "wacked" function.
I give the Chorus a 7.5
The Flanger: Also gets deep and has nice spread but doesn't leave the inherant sound of your guitar intact. The most annoying problem is, while trying to get some Jimi-sounds, I noticed this flanger sounds like crap with all of the distortions offered by the J-station, which is over 12 different kinds, with a wide range of personalities. The flanger gets this tinny-noise grain that sits on top of the sound when putting distortion through the flanger. Tried a few eq corrections and when I finally got rid of it, the tone was sucked right out of my signal.
I think this petal is suited for heavy distortion-type players who want the "chaosion option-package" offered by the "wacked" feature. Which I could, BTW, get some really interesting sounds that would be good for industrial music and the like.

I play clean, jazzy, jam-style music; this petal is not a good match because it lack natural sound qualities
I've been playing for about 11 years.
If it were lost/stolen, I would get a much better petal than this one.
My favorite sound is a distortion into a deep chorus-pretty thick and sweet.
I wish it had better quality, more-transparent sound.
I don't even use this petal that often at all.
Petal searchers: Research the pedal, play the pedal, hang out with the pedal, if mail-order be ready to return the pedal, COMPARE THE PEDALS, and take home the one you like. There is no such thing as "best" there is only what is pleasing to you!

I use either a fender strat or an SG through a behringer GMX 212 there are pedals to but theis is the only one that sucks tone ( I've tested it) and it is only used by itself.
I bought this when I needed a Flanger or Chorus sound for live use and have yet to get a satifying sound out of it. First the wacked switch is useless as it just makes everything sound like crap and i can do that without a pedal if i wanted to sound like crap which i dont.
THe other guitarist in my band at the time chose this for me as an exceptional pedal. but since then i've played through countless better pedals. the sounds are usable but when engaged the pedal's sounds seem to say " HEY I"M AN EFFECT". This is not a good thing as my playing is based mostly on the tone i'm getting through my guitr and amp.

It easy to get an ok sound on the chorus. Every chorus effect pedal seems to be pretty easy to set up. Just mess with the knobs.
The flanger is easy enough to use as well but the sound always sucks. The settings in the manual made a decent flanger sound for a couple minutes until I realized there is an incredibly loud hiss that is at its worst point when you put it at what the manual calls the classic flanger setting.
Sound Quality
:
6
My setup is a prs custom 24 to a vox wah-wah, another tone-lok pedal-- the TS-7 tubescreamer, a fulltone deja' vibe and then the CF-7, all going to a mesa boogie rectoverb.
The effect I use the most is the chorus. It's decent, but not a very lush chorus sound. It kinda has a sterile sound to it. I solve this problem by using the deja' vibe in conjunction with this which makes the sound VERY lush sounding. This is just a trick I found works, but it doesnt speak well for the ibanez.
The flanger sounds even more sterile, there seems to be no way to make it sound like a normal flanger pedal. The worst part with the flanger though is this loud rumbling hiss that comes as the the flange comes to its highest frequency. The stronger the flange, the longer and louder the hiss goes for. making the delay time longer helps, but then you get a reverb sound, and again, always sterile sounding.
In retrospect, I should have realized that a pedal this cheap is gonna sound really cheap. But when I bought this thing probably 4 or so years ago I was only 16. I read a review in Guitar World that said this thing was really great for chorus and flanger and that krazy switch made some cool sounds. It's true that it can get some cool ring modulator sounds, but to me that is no reason to buy a chorus/flanger pedal. Only if you play guitar to make stupid noises and you don't care about how to play guitar will the ring modulator effect be worth the cost of the pedal. Thanks for saying anything to make money and keep your sponsers Guitar World.
Actually, I love Eric Krasnos' and Scofield's guitar styles, and they get those ring modulator sounds alot, but this pedal's effect is kindof unusable in a real musical situation cause little turns of the knob throw all of the frequenceis out of whack.

I am not a fan of this pedal. If you really want a good chorus/flanger pedal, I really think you have to pay for the price of a chorus pedal and the price of a flanger. If you want to cut corner's and buy a cheap pedal ok good for you. It just isn't gonna sound good.
My goal is to buy a fulltone chorus/flanger I tried one out in a store and the thing was amazing. The flanger sounded like a real flange effect from slowing one reel when using 2 reel-to-reel recorders. This is how the true flange sound effect was invented. It wasn't as intense as alot of flangers, but the quality is what counts. And that pedal goes for $295.
It's alot of money but you can either do something half-assed or do it good. Who cares about the money, if you really can't afford it than practice without effects instead and you will become a really good guitarist first. Then you will make alot of money and you can get whatever the fuck effects pedals you want.

4 pretty self-explanitory knobs and 2 switches. One toggles between chorus and flanger, and the other between normal mode and useless mode. I haven't used the manual yet, but I have a pretty good understanding of effects.

I don't notice any signal loss when pedal isn't on, but my signal is usually heavily overdriven. When it's on, there is the normal light swooshing sound when not playing anything, but no noise. I haven't tried this in the effects loop of my amp, though.
The chorus can go from a very light, smooth sound to crazy ray gun blips. I'm not a big fan of flanging, so I haven't used the flanger side much.
The Wack'd mode is retarded, so I never use it.

I've chosen to post a review on the Tone-Lok pedal series instead on one pedal in particular. Not difficult to use, just spend some time on the controls and find the sound you like the most.
Sound Quality

I've owned two, the CF7 (Chorus-Flanger) and the DS7 (distortion). Also if not the best sound around, for example like the CS-505 or CS 9, the sound of the pedals I've owned is pretty good. On the DS7 you have to keep the tone control to zero to have a sound closer to the real one you have bypassing the effect. It only cuts some little low frequency.

I've got a used CS 505 lately, and I think it's the better Chorus around, no matter what. But the CF7 is not that far to the old pedal. If you have the chance to change the latter for the old one, do it. If not, keep this one. It has a great sound, expecially for the price you pay for it.

This is not on the customer support, but on the overall quality of the Tone-Lok serie. I really don't know how Ibanez might had put these pedals on the market. The quality is close to zero. In 41 years of life I've never, and say never seen so many units going back to the customer support because of the defects. I've bought the CF7 first, and changed it three times because it didn't work mehanically or electronically. It's really a shame. Maybe the people at Ibanez put on the market again the 9 serie because of the great, great lack of quality of the Tone-Loks. I really hope they'll improve the quality because the pedals on sale right now are aweful.
Anyways I've got the chance to have the pedal changed three times. In the end I gave it back and partially traded with a guitar.

I had a bit of problem founding a good sound first, so I tried the manual settings. Deep chorus and Classic Flanger were pretty good, but I didn't like the Whack'd vibe and the other vibe thing at all. Too out-of-tune for me. Ring mod was good. Let's put it other way. It was WEIRD, which is what ring mods should sound like, so I guess it's good. After a while of playing I got bored with the Deep chorus' (IMO) over-deep sound. I also got bored with flanger. And I don't have a real use for a ring mod. Time to twiddle the knobs and get *my* sound. I got really great sound after a while, and it works in chorus-normal, flanger-normal and flanger-whack'd as well. Speed 5, Depth 2, Delay time 5 and Regen 8.

It is noisy in all settings. and in an effects loop. the flange sounds better than the chorus, but it still is very metallic. Like somebody scraping around inside a tin can. Only with your guitar sound. The chorus is wimpy. it gets lost in distortion, and it makes your clean sounds very trebly. Don't use the whackd, not worth it. I'm noise-core and I can't do anything useful with it. yes it ring-mods, but terribly. it's literally impossible to create a harmony or even a nuetral note in the modulation. It does Korn... but wimpily, and I don't like Korn.

Overall, huh? I play in two bands, one in church, the other doing rock and alt covers. And I write music on my own. Been on it for two years, but I've got a job and some time. I don't suck. I'm a music freak, and I wouldn't tell yall bout it if I had no skills to back it up.
I like the Ibanez 7s, but not this one. I've tried four of them, own the de7 too. I'll sell this one and buy a ph7, see if it agrees with me any better. If it was stolen, I'd want my battery back.
I've tried the boss flanger, I liked it more, but not for the extra $40. I don't need a flanger, thought it would start something creative. I found myself going out of the way to use it, and getting mad at it. Stay away, boys. peace.

It's your basic pedal, and thus fairly easy to use. Finding usable sounds is pretty easy, though you probably will be dissapointed the overall sound quality. As they say, though, you get what you pay for.
The manual is average, gives a few cool settings - but otherwise it's nothing special.
Sound Quality
:
6
Current setup is Schecter C1+ --> Marshall ED-1 Compresser --> Art FX-1 or Alesis Nanoverb (I can't use them both until I get a noise gate)
--> HAO Rust Driver --> Crate V-Series 1512 (Class A All-Tube) Amp.
I no longer use this pedal, but tried it in various positions/combinations before I sold it.
The chorus effect is fairly weak. It doesn't sound horrible, but it is way too thin. A chorus is supposed to fill sounds out - the CF7 is simply too weak to do this. Again, it doesn't sound bad, per se - but it doesn't act like a chorus should. Tweaking the knobs, and using the "wack'd" (stupid name) switch can get you some cool vibrato-type chorus, which is kinda neat as a sound effect that you might wanna insert into an interlude of some sort. Overall, however, the chorus is not something you are going to wanna write songs with.
Now, the flanger. Things get even worse here. It's noisier than a flanger should be, for one. It sounds too harsh and robotic, almost. If I didn't know better, I'd assume it was coming from some antique, low-budget, low-quality digital proccessor. Which is not to say you can't get ANY usable sounds out of it, you can - but there are so many better flangers around - using this one as a primary flanger effect would be ridiculous. As a beginner flange, it isn't too bad I suppose, but there are still better flangers for similiar prices. Oh yeah, and the flange KILLS tube tone. If you're a tone freak, stay far away.
The most dead-on effect in this pedal is actually the ring modulator. No, it doesn't include a ring modulator - but if you use the "wack'd" mode, and tweak the settings right - you will get a spot-on ring modulator sound. But when a Chorus/Flanger pedal's best sounding effect is ring modulation, well - you know something's just not right.
As for emulating artists, I dunno - I aim to create my own sound, and don't really wanna sound like someone else. I believe ex-Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes whoever used one of these though, so maybe you can sound like him? Why anyone would WANT to sound like Limp Bizkit... I don't know.
One more thing, noise. The flanger is the noisiest, as I mentioned earlier. Also, all these Ibanes Tone-Lok pedals create hiss and buzz when you aren't playing.
Overall, the sound quality is fairly poor for the actual effects, but if you're looking to create some odd modulation sounds, then the sound quality is OK.

It seems pretty well-built, certainly not a BOSS or anything, but better than most lower-end pedals. However, the foot pedal is horrible! It's very finnicky, sometimes the effect comes on, sometimes it doesn't. You usually have to figure out how to press it just right to make it work - either that or step on it 3 or 4 times. This is just unacceptable, and would be a disaster in a live situation. I'm taking off 4 points for that. This pedal also sucks batteries worse than any other pedal I own - I shouldn't have to buy a 20 dollar adapter for a so-so pedal, so I'm knocking it down another couple points for that.

I play lots of styles - blues, metal, punk, garage rock, etc. I've been playing for about 5 years or so.
I wouldn't buy it again, in fact I sold it to a friend of mine who is less picky than me.
The only way I would reccomend this pedal, is if you like to insert weird sounds and such in your songs, then it might be ok. Otherwise, stay away. There are better sounding pedals at affordable prices. Rocktron, Guyatone, Boss, Digitech, etc.

The chorus sound is good. There are no suprises here. If you are looking for a heavy chorus sound you may want to try something else. I use it to get that trippy water effect that gives your sound and tone that little bit extra of pimpness. A lot of people hate on the flange. I agree that it is not very powerful but again, if you want an effect pedal that doesn't drown out your tones this is the one. My only gripe is with the Krazy switch. You WILL lose tone when it is on wack'd mode and have distortion on. You don't notice the tone deteriation too much when the distortion is off. I don't know of another way to duplicate that weird sound so unless you know of one, this pedal is the only way to get that krazy korn vibe.

My type of music is a cross between Shadows Fall, Fear Factory, Korn, and Deftones. The CF7 is ideal for this sound. I've been playing for about 10 years an played all types of rock with all types of sound and the sound I have now is my favorite. I use an LTD guitar with duo humbuckers, the DOD death metal distortion pedal(I don't care what you say, it friggin shreds!) the Boss Noise gate and the Boss delay /reverb. If I lost my CF7 I would buy it again because it has exactly what I need, nothing more, nothing less. What I love about it is that it is that it allows me to incorporate what a lot of nu metal bands are doing now into my own style. I'm not going lie...I like being able to finnaly duplicate a sound I have been trying to achieve since '96-'97. I only wish the wac'd switch didn't take out so much tone. This pedal by far has opened doors and changed my sound in a way I've always wanted.

I was in a Police cover band for 2 years and I needed a good chorus pedal I decided on this one becuase the other ones I tried sucked.
I used mine with a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 100, Les Paul, and a Strat.
The sound quality was pretty good. The chorus mode adds a really nice brightness to your tone but its weak overall and does not give you the expansive feel that a better chorus will give. The flanger is nice but its very noisy, if your not playing and its on, it hisses like crazy. I never found a use for the "wackd" mode, you cant use it unless you want to cover a Korn song or let people know that you can make the "Korn sound". This is a great pedal for a beginner or someone looking for a nice combo pedal. If you really want THE BEST chorus pedal get a Boss Chorus Ensemble. Its unbelievable and hands down the best, most powerful chorus pedal I've ever heard.

What can I say, it crapped out on me during many gigs. We gigged about 3-4 times a month and our shows were about 4 hours long. This piece of shit would "die" out of nowhere and kill my whole effects chain and therefore all of my sound! It had plently of power from a daisy chain so it wasnt the battery. I would have to jump to the front of the stage and slam it up and down till it lit back up and made a loud popping sound. It wasnt the cables or connections either I tested the shit out of them after the first time it died. The bitch of it all was that it would perform just fine through hours and days of practice but go to shit at the gigs. I ended up buying a Boss Chorus Ensemble and throwing the Ibanez in the trash.

I bought it becuase it was cheap and had 2 sounds. The chorus is pretty good and sounds different from all other choruses. It broke at the worst possible times. It would be great for someone who only plays at home becuase you get 2 quality effects in one box and its cheap. The tone lock knobs are a really nice touch. If you want a really good, "watery" sounding, professional chorus DON'T get this one.

It's pretty easy to get a alright chorus sound. The flange, however, is okay - I'm not big on flange because I have a small amp, and the whoosh overpowers it, thus turning the sound to shit. The "Wack'd" switch gives me what I bought this pedal for: weird stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah, "it's that Korn shit again" - well, what if you twist it to your liking? I liked the fucked-up tremelo-esque sounds because it's creepy. Especially in the middle of a song [like Korn, of course] when those unnatural, eerie tones pierce the distortion-driven riffing - just cool.
The switches [to switch between modes] appear to be off-set, but they work just fine. The push/lock knob idea was a genius one, as I tend to get a sound I like, and I'd like to keep the settings while I'm playing.
The main on/off switch is variable, however. You gotta give it a quick, hard tap to make sure it's on/off - if you tap halfway, it flicks on and off quickly, and screws you up.
Other than that, it's pretty easy to configure.
Sound Quality
:
9
I'd rather not reveal my setup, as it's a bit "low-tech".
It isn't quiet at all times - during flange mode [or any mode that sounds like it's "moving"], you can hear a background "white" noise, like static on a TV, and it gets annoying.
The effects are pretty good as far as sound quality goes, and you can get pretty chorus and flange sounds from 70's/80
's metal bands. As far as the "Wack'd" sounds go, the only band I can think of that utilizes these tones is Korn.
Reliability
:
9
Due to the dodgy on/off switch, it probably won't be reliable unless one is wary. I would use it on a gig without a backup, because these Ibanez 7-series pedals are of high-quality physical design, and the sound is exactly the same every time.

Haven't dealt with Ibanez as of yet. My only real issue with them is that they tend to keep up with the top trends, i.e. "Wack'd" switch = Korn, heavy-duty shells = heavy-metal slammin', etc. Not like I mind - just that it seems they don't want to be completely original at times.

I play whatever I feel like playing - this pedal helps out with those different tones, and helps me escape from the natural guitar tone, although I do like it. If it were stolen or lost, I'd at least want to get my money's worth back, whether it be replaced with another or refund.
One thing I wish this pedal had is a better switch.

Unlike a lot of other chorus pedals currently on the market, the CF-7 is much more configurable. The time setting alone allows for a wide range of chorus sounds, while a lot of other similar pedals have one specific chorus sound that can be manipulated. In terms of the flanger effects, it is about as configurable as most other similar units. If you take some time and sit down with this pedal and learn how its controls work, you will be rewarded.

I use the CF-7 with a number of different guitars including Strats. Along with other pedals, I play it into a Digitech Genesis 3 which outputs to a Mackie mixer, an amp and studio monitors.
Just like the other Ibanez (DE-7 Delay/Echo) pedal that I use, I find the CF-7 to be very quiet.
In terms of the sound quality, I would rate it has excellent, especially as compared to other similar pedals on the market. I also own and use a Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble which has a great sound but is very one-dimensional compared to this unit. The "wacked" switch opens up all kinds of sonic possibilities (including ring modulation) that are far beyond what most chorus/flangers are capable of.

I think that the CF-7 would be a good match for anyone looking for a wide range of chorus/flange/modulation effects from a single pedal. I think the sound quality is great and with the right knob adjustments, you you will be amazed at the range of sounds that are available. It does require a bit of work to learn it and unleash its full potential, however. There are other pedals on the market that may offer more recognizable and distinctive sounds, but this pedal covers all of the bases pretty well. If I was buying just one chorus/flanger pedal, this would be the one I would get.

Its easy to get a good sound but the delay time knob is confusing I usually keep it off or at 3 o'clock but you will need to learn to use it if using the pedal in whack'd mode. There is 4 knobs and 2 switches Speed, Depth, Delay Time, Regen and Chorus/Flange switch Normal/Whack'd mode switch

The reason why I give an 7 is because the flange effect is weak when clean but sounds good when distorted. The chorus effect is good usually but it doesn't compare to most other single stompbox effects. The whack'd mode is cool and basically speeds up the flange or the chorus.

K, setup. '68 Fender Mustang -> Mr. Crybaby -> TS9 -> ProCo Rat -> CF7 -> Ibanez Analogue Delay -> '65 Fender Deluxe Reverb. This pedal sounds alright. Nothing amazing. It doesn't kill your tone when its off. It doesn't really kill it when its on. It doesn't really enhance it in any way. I just got this thing to make some noise really, and to recreate some Incubus sounds, but that Fuel line comes to mind (jeez, remember them?). I also would like to use it in a "Speak to Me and Breathe" type of way, but it doesn't quite sound lush. I bought this pedal primarily for its chorus function. I would say that the chorus sounds on this are really good. The pedal is also capable of doing a good univibe simulation. You can also get a ring modulator sound. The flanger sounds are a bit of a disappointment, though. The flanger doesn't sound too good with distortion. great sound quality but when you mix distortion thats between your guitar and this pedal with this pedal while in whack'd mode you lose volume and tone, but if you put a distortion pedal in between your amp and this pedal the whack'd mode will be fine but the normal mode will lose volume and tone, other then that it sound pretty kool by it self and with delay. i rather use my boss ce-5 chorus ensemble though because i barely use flange or those whack'd chorus sounds.

Noissy?, not in all, no problem with this and tone sucking even when isn't true by pass.
I buy this mostly for the Chorus and second for the flanger. The Chorus is too weak even with the DEEP to max. In live it's lost, it's not a volumen problem it's a quality problem. The Chorus need more bright and deep, any way it's sucks.
The Flanger have the same problem that the chorus but it's run some better, a little better.
Yo never will get the Van Halen's sound in "I can't stop lovin you" with this Chorus, hearme, never.

If it stolen i don't care me because who stole that don't have a great electronic piece in his hands.

If your gonna use it for a live situation...NEVER USE IT WITH THE BATTERYS they won't last for shit in this pedal. I give it less then an hours use before the battery gives up, use a adapter if u can other wise don't use it lots. Other wise... useing the pedal with the adapter i give it it a ten out of ten. ONE year and never a hint of failing on me!

Sweet jesus on a stick this is an excellent pedal ( despite it's manufacturers poor credibility ). It's about time Ibanez pulled their heads out of their nu-metal rears. You can get SO MANY sounds out of this pedal it's not even worth desribing. So many tones...so many so many. Although if you're using poor equipment the Flanger can sound a little tubeamp distorted ( even on solid state ) on the dive down.
Speed at three accompanied by depth at half and delay time at six gives you the standard progressive flang.
meanwhile on the chorus side of the box with everything up at max and speed at 4 you can get something very dreamy with the right guitar setting to company it.

Okay, I know I hate ibanez to the point of genocidal thought...but this pedal is LOVELY. The variety of sounds you can make with it is VERY useful...you can make luscious, progressive dream tones or change a normal note into a strange springlike BOING sound. If you REALLY want a kick, run your mic through this and have fun sounding like a robotic god. It's like a synthesizer in a can...er...box.

This thing is pretty easy to use, you do have to find a sound thats right for you and the music you play but after you use it a few times u get used to it. The manual does help, but you'd have to be pretty stupid to not know how to use it. The knobs have the locking option thing, where u can just push the things like further into the pedal, which helps when im playing shows, I like to jump around, and when I do i usually will change the settings on some other pedals, but this one stays right on where I want it to sound.

Sound quality is cool, it can be a little loud at times, becuase when I'm using the flanger I tend to turn up the depth a little to loud, which in turn makes my guitar unheard and the pedals the only thing that can be heard. I do like the sound of it but the "krazy er whack'd" setting is just retarted. The effects aren't "weak" but its hard to find the balance of sounding cool and hearing just the pedal, which can be ear piercing. I'm using this thing with some big crate amp, and it sounds pretty cool, I have it on effects loop, just because of some problems. I can mimick some incubus stuff, infact my band has made up a song where I pretty much leave the pedal on just to sound like the guitarist from incubus ("dave lance" er something like that, not too sure what his name is) The chorus is kool, but you can get some really retarted stuff outta this thing, it just takes some time to find what you think sounds cool.

Three words, "eat my batteries." This thing has one tragic flaw, it likes to eat every battery in a matter of seconds. Fortunate for me, a kind employee at a music store gave me an adapter for free. (thank you jeremy) The pedal is pretty reliable and I have used it at one show, and it died in the middle of a song, which is why I use it in the effects loop now, and thats why I got the adapter. The pedal is a pain to power, thats the worst part, and I don't think I would use it at a show without the adapter. Anyway the adapters only six bucks, plus an extension chord, so thats about 15 dollars added on, which isn't so bad, but hey I'm only fifteen what do I know?

I've never dealt with any costumer support, other than Daddy's Junky Music. I did ask if there was anyway to make the battery last longer, and I sent a letter to Ibanez, but they kind of worked their way around telling me anything. A typed crappy letter that said "Please refer to the manual of your: instrument, accessory etc." was the response, which didnt help. The only way to get this thing to work any better is to buy more crap for it.

I play an emo punk style of music in my band, but I play plenty of other styles including some blues stuff. This pedal is a good match for anyone who to plays guitar as long as your not expecting it to make you any better at playing. Remember its only an effect, you need to know how to use it. I've only been playing for a year or two and I got this pedal RECENTLY. I also use a RAT distortion pedal, which does combine pretty well with the futurastic sounds of this pedal. If I lost this pedal I may buy it again but I have played with a boss BF-2 flanger and they sound pretty much alike. I love the flanger effect on it, and the way that it can sound. I hate the stupid krazy option, cause if anyone uses that onestage, they better be real good at guitar. The pedal could stand to have a little less options, I don't even notice the difference when I turn up the "regen" knob. Just remember no pedal will help you make music, I usually just use an acoustic guitar to make up things, then I transfer the chords into power chords, and so on. No pedal will help make music, it can inspire you to make things up, and then use the pedal with these songs, which has happened to me. After using this pedal I wouldnt want to lose it, many of the riffs I play seem ineffective without it. Overall, be prepared to shell out an extra 15 dollars, either for a nice little supply of nine volt batteries or for the adapter and an extension chord.

Getting a decent sound from this device is not overly complicated. The major problem here is switching between the effects if you have a need to do so quickly. The box features four click-recessive knobs (speed, depth, delay, and regeneration) and two switches, one for switching between chorus and flange and one for mode swapping (labeled "KRAZY," with options for "NORMAL" or "WACK'D") plus a Boss-style click section to turn the pedal on and off. The multiple effects parameters provide a multitude of sounds at the user's fingertips, but the tiny switches to change between chorus and flange and to switch between normal and super-fast effects speed prevent the box from being more than one effect at a time (though at each sitting it can essentially be one of four!). Thus, an eight out of ten; on the other hand, it would probably be less useful if it had four big buttons on the top.
Sound Quality
:

Once again, and eight; it is solid, but it's a given that a low-priced box containing essentially four effects will not be perfect in each of the four. The chorus can sound very much like a cheap delay box if the depth knob is too shallow, and the flange sometimes produces sweeps that "bottom out" my amp and produce a burring noise, but neither is the fault of the pedal. It is true that the flange produces an audible frequency sweep (a whoosh) when the guitar is tacet, but its presence does not detract from the usefulness of the pedal. If I had to choose one of the effects over the other, I would definitely say the flanger is the better of the two, but as previously stated, both effects are solid, especially for this price. I run my Squier strat through a Boss OD2R, then this pedal, and then an early model Morley PWV into a Fender Champ 15B amplifier. Sometimes I put the CF7 in flange mode first and turn on the OD2R's "Turbo" feedback loop which provides an interesting "metallic angst" effect with minor-seventh hammer-ons (think the end of "We Will Rock You" or "Weekepaug Groove," with a different twist provided by the CF7) and power chords. The unit also provides intresting feedback modulation when one phyiscally places the pickups near the speaker. Major plus: no signal boost or drop when this pedal is added to or removed from the effects chain.

Needs a power supply (which I don't have; bought used and got only the box and a cord), because battery only lasts about four hours at most. Box is heavy for its size, and made of thick metal. Buttons retract for safety. Would suggest playing barefoot if you want to switch effects midsong without risking breakage of the switch(es).

I have only been playing guitar for about three years, and so my semi-evolved playing style (imitative of Trey Anastasio, Dave Matthews, Pete Townshend, Syd Barett, and Dave Dederer (of the Presidents of the USA)) is well-suited to the unit. It makes good basic sounds, fun strange sounds in "WACK'D" mode (use the flange version of this mode and you've got a much better imitation of the bass intro sound in the President's single "Peaches" than a lone tremolo unit would create), but no really "great sounds." It would suit me even were I a professional, but it is doubtful that famous artists would choose this box over a "more refined" unit (ie using no ics whatsoever, or perhaps tubes; I'm sure some part of this is digital, but it's so heavy it must have a few solid-state parts in it). It is a definite sound enhancement which I would reccommend to anyone, especially someone on a budget; I got this one on the cheap, costing less for two decent-quality effects than one alone would probably go for. If it was stolen, I would probably purchase another if one could be found for a similar price, but if I could buy a separate chorus and flanger that sounded any better than the effects in this box for less than $100 then I would choose the latter option. The month or so I've spent with this product has broadened my musical horizons in a small way; never again will I go without having some kind of chorus or flange effect in my rig.

When I bought this pedal, I was looking for a ring modulator kind of sound, but the chorus sound works for me (distorted and clean) as well. I like the delay knob for that added versatility that I don't think is on any other chorus pedal. I don't use a lot of the crazier sounds you can get out of this (besides ring modulatorish sounds), but this pedal is quite versatile. I can't give it a 10 for sound, though because I don't care for the flanger (too weak for me). Also, an EQ might be a good thing on here, but it isn't the end of the world either....

I listen mostly to alternative rock (Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Tool....), and this fits well with what I do - whether I want some crazy sounds or just a fatter sound, I think this is the most versatile chorus pedal that I have seen. If it were lost or stolen, I probably would get another. So, while it may not be the best chorus sound, it is still very good. (And for my flanging needs, I LOVE my DOD fx747, fyi).

i actually am a bass player i use a muusic man sting ray bass and have a strange amp set up a a tube amp drivinging A 1X15 cab have a 7 band eq pedal so i can dial out a lot of the harshness of this pedal. when using a distortion pedal before the flangethen i have my eq fix the mess my guitarist has an mxr analog flange which kicks this things ass seven way to sunday but when i tried it for the first time(this pedal) it gave me what i wanted a slow almost out of phase swoosh type sound. the delay time knob really only fucctions as a maunual like the mxr knob labeled as such except the mxr manual wont give you such a harsh top end. but whaqtever i like this effect because it does what i originally wanted it to do. i only use it on solos and it is an eye opener. usualy bass players dont solo with the jet plane distortion flange combo and it gets the attention away from my guitarist the crazy settings forget about them the chourus settings who needs em' i got a boss ceb for that.this effect as a bassplaying tool? no not really i can only use it for soloing.
when my cosin (this is not the guitarist for my band and doesnt have an mxr to play with) tried using this pedal with his guitar with the delay/manual back all the way down he could also get very usuable sounds yet the thing that is the best thing to do with this pedal is... using itwith the line 6 revese delay the reason of this iswith the line 6 delay it can onlt speed up times 2 or slow down by 1/4 if your looking for that tape machine in reverse sound it needs to be slowed down by only a ratio of 1/16 this pedal set to a slow flange slows the signal in such a way that when reversed it can give you that castles made oif sand sound the mxr will do this too i guess but the ibanez does it for less expense. the chorus is preety good for guitar.
the sound i was looking for was something that sounded unique and i guess i have it for solo/novelty other than that save your money for a line 6 mod modeler it will take a long ass time to save up to afford it but it will be worth your while ive tried it out and to me it is the all be all of modulation (even if some of the effects dont sound exactly like the ones there modeled after there are really genuis sounding and super musical)

Speed, Depth, Delay Time, & Regeneration; switch to choose chorus or flange, and a switch to choose between wack'd and normal. One input, two outputs that are 180 degrees out of phase as mentioned before, ac adaptor, etc. If you spend a little time with it and get to know everything it can do, it's actually pretty decent.

I've been a bass player for the last 5 years and by no means claim to be an expert. This is just from personal experience.
Chorus: I always have the Speed at 12 o'clock, Depth and Delay at full clockwise, and Regeneration at full counterclockwise. This produces a very nice chorus sound that is metallic but not to the point where it loses its warmth. For bassists, the sound IS nicer on your D & G strings compared to your A, E, & lower strings. It was made for guitar though. I never change the settings on the chorus mode so I can't say anything else about it, except that I prefer these settings so much that I don't feel the need to explore.
Flange: I think that flange is an effect that should be used sparingly to be effective. I rarely use this mode and really can't comment on it.
The wack'd modes are kind of cool to mess around with but I don't believe that I would record a song with them.

And finally one day, you'll get a letter or e-mail telling you that they stopped making the part you need a month ago or that you will have to pay shipping and handling to send it to them on top of what you are paying them to fix it. Hmmn...

Chorus pedals go well with any musical genre and should be used often. On the other hand, flange should be used as little as possible so it is more appreciated when it is used. For the styles I play (blues, rock, metal) and the techniques I use, this pedal works great. I can't speak for everyone but for me, it's been lovely. I can't say I'd buy it again just because there is better stuff out there that could do a better job. That requires money though, which many of us have little of.

-2 marks just because it produces some noise(when playing)when using with distortion, kind of pain. If it's noise that come out when u're not playing, then it's fine, but the noise come out when i'm playing, so it's realy terrible. The flanger also produce a little jet plane sound whenever it's on. My only point in writing this review is to warn all bassists. DO NOT USE THIS PEDAL ON BASS! It sounds so thin and ridiculous. Seriously, avoid it all costs. You want flange, get a Boss BF3, you want a chorus, get a Boss CEB3. Just get something eq'd for bass, not this. I'm sure it would sound great on guitar, but it's worthless on bass. The whack'd mode sounded stupid too. I'm not saying this is a bad product - they never said it was usable on bass....BECAUSE IT'S NOT!

it's cool and easy to use with 4 knobs and two mode switches. if you just buy it as a cool chorus/flange and like to 'wak'd mode because it makes you sound like Korn, then you are brain-dead and should not be playing guitar.
speed, depth, delay time, and regen (only works on flange modes) are fairly sensitive.
chorus/flange switch explains itself (if you don't know the difference, you are brain-dead and should not be playing guitar).
the normal/wak'd switch is just a rate-doubler (for all you brain-dead Korn cover bands who think it's magical).
Sound Quality
:
9
sound wise, both the chorus and flange can go significantly faster and slower than many choruses or flangers out there.
with the rate-doubler, you can push the flanger into speeds that generate their own sub-sonic tone, which can be funny.
the dual inputs are handy (especially when plugged into stereo input effects) but they are not wet and dry, they are normal and inverse (180 degrees out of phase, so running them to sepereate amps means you might get some sonic cancellation).
aside from that, all of the modulations on this pedal are decidedly thin and fizzy...which is fine for the brain-dead Korn wanna-be players, shite for anyone who plays real guitar.
I don't play guitar, and I want it to sound fuzzy, so it's cool
( I use it to make a $15 radio-shack keyboard go "boyoyoyoyoyoyoy" really fast or slow, with with adjustable modes and stompbox on/off ability (leaving both hands free to play within teh keyboards 3-note polyphony...woohoo)

the recessed knobs are a cute and helpful idea, but they should lock into position once pushed down (which they do not)
some people think it could rival a boss, because it is shaped like one and made of cast metal plating. it is sturdy, but there is one concern that should be addressed.
a mass-produced stomp box is only going to last as long as it's SPDT bypass switcher (the electronic bypass switch you brain-dead bastard).
in boss pedals, this switch is big, and easliy replaced.
in ibanez pedals, the switch is smaller than a grain of the rice I cooked last night, and it is socketed directly to the electronics board (and the casing is latch mounted by rivets.
thusly, if you stomp on this thing too hard, especially at an angle, you ARE GOING TO BREAK THE SWITCH, thus transforming your "make me into korn" machine into a paperweight.

I go from my standard strat to original crybaby, to boss ds-1, to the cf-7 to the ibanez de-7. It sounds really cool. The chorus can be altered a real lot, and the flange adds a nice sound to undistorted guitar. The krazy switch makes, well, crazy sounds. It can sounds really cool or make sounds that hurt to hear. Takes a little bit of fiddling, but you can get some nice tones after about 10 minutes of messing with the settings. I don't really use the delay time setting except at maybe the 7 o'clock position. I set the speed and depth controls for 1 o'clock and 12 o'clock, respectively. I haven't really messed with the regeneration, as I got the unit for the chorus effect. I don't even use the "Wack'd" switch.

I play a Fender 48th Street Strat into a Dunlop 95Q, Boss CS-3, BD-2, this box, and Boss NS-2 all going into a Peavey Bandit 112. So far I like the sound I can get out of this pedal. I like a more subtle chorus that I can use to "fatten up" solos and occasionally use for rhythm guitar (ie: Skynyrd). I have found that chorus in this box, at least until I can save up for an Analog.Man. For the price, you can't beat the sound and it compares with either of the two Boss chorus' out right now. I haven't really messed much with the flanger, except when I get in an Eddie Van Halen mood. It sounds pretty generic though. This doesn't matter though since I hardly ever use it.

One thing I noticed is if you crank the amp (or use cheap patch cables) you will hear the chorus swirl or flange sweep when you don't play, but if you click the pedal off, it's completely silent.
This has got to be the most versitile of the Tone-Lok pedals (the delay/echo one is nice too), the flange is great. You can get a short, warbly sweep to a long, underwater sounding one. The chorus, well, you really have to play around with it. But it does everything from a faint shimmer to a very full sounding chorus. I think the chorus sounds warmer than my Boss CE-5 does.
The Krazy switch is fun to play with too. It basically makes all the knobs more sensitive, and gives you cool modulated sounds. You can get anything from a ring modulator tone, to weird, super-fast vibrato sounds. Some people here have said the Krazy switch is useless and stupid. Well, ignore that. It's fun to play with, and more sound versatility is always better.

Ibanez Tone-Lok effects are VERY reliable. I've owned my SM-7 (also Tone-Lok) for some time now, and have NEVER had any kind of problem with it. These things are cased in a rugged (and cool-looking) metal housing. I would never abuse my gear, but these pedals can take it. I saw a dude accidentally drop his amp on one of these things, and a few minutes later when he plugged in, it worked fine.
I fully trust these pedals, and would gig without backups and not think twice about it.

I haven't played very long, I'm basically a punk-rocker. This thing suits the role perfectly. Heck, the CF-7 is so versitile, I think it would meet your needs, no matter what you play. By far the best feature of this thing is the amount of sounds you can coax from this little box. I've played around with it at the music store a couple of times before, and when I brought it home today, I was surprised to still find new sounds.
The chorus and flange are a little hard to control, but when you figure it out, you can get ANY sound. Even with out the Krazy switch on, you can get some funky sounds, and when you turn it on, you can get some really trippy effects.
Here in Hawaii, they jack up prices on everything, but I didn't mind paying extra for this one, because it just kicks ass. This thing is an absolute steal, like everything in the Tone-Lok series. I'm sure my future pedalboard will consist mostly of Ibanez products (except for wah, pitch shifting etc, but there's a Tone-Lok for every other effect, I think they surpass their Boss counterparts in terms of sound and cool features :)
Anyway, nothing bad to say about this one. Go try it out, I promise you won't be disappointed!

It dosen't matter what my setup is, this pedal blows. Not that it completely sucks. If I just played guitar to sit in my room and show off to my friends, it would be fine, but I actually play shows, and the tone on this thing is embarrasing. I used it as a backup for my E-H Deluxe Electric Mistress Flanger and I have to say that this does not at all stand up to the EH pedal.

It's a traditional stompbox, so the CF-7 wasn't too hard to figure out, and the instructions gave some pretty good starting points for good chorus and flange sounds if you're clueless about how to use one of these. It's useful to have chorus and flange in one pedal (provided you don't want to use both at once), but I found it difficult to go between them at the flip of the switch. In addition I always had to turn a few dials as well. The tone-lock dials are a nice but unnecessary feature (I hardly ever have problems with other pedal dials moving in transit).

This pedal sounds very impressive, especially for the price. The flanges are nice and deep and the chorus is very rich. The "wack'd" switch produces some neat ring modulator and vibrato effects, though I personally won't need them. I used it with a Jeckyl and Hyde distortion, and found that on some settings, with the JH placed first, there was a big volume jump when the flange was on. Put a wah before the chours for some funky jazz grooves.

The tone lock dials seem a bit cheap, but other than that, the housing is very sturdy. Make sure to buy a good adaptor or have tons of spare batteries handy though, before I plugged this pedal in, I was going through a Duracell Ultra a night, using the CF-7 on 2-3 songs per gig. With an AC adaptor, this pedal is very reliable.

This is a great mid-range pedal if you're looking for something better than dano minies and cheaper than boss. Make sure you budget in an AC adaptor when buying this pedal, as its heavy power use drains batteries, sometimes in the middle of gigs. If you don't own either a chorus or flange, or want to build a second, smaller effects rig, this is a great pedal to buy. Good for jazz, rock, punk, country, you name it.

I play a Fender Strat and my setup while using this pedal was Strat > Ibanez CF-7 > Dunlop Crybaby > DOD FX 69 Grunge Box > Fender 15 Watt Frontman Bass Amp. After using all of the settings that were recommended in the manual I still wasn't pleased so I triend rearranging the pedals and using different combonations but it was no good. I even tried using my friend's Jackson and I still hated it. The recommended Chorus setting sounded allright with distortion but that was about it. The add said that it would "whoosh, swoosh, chirp, and blurp" with the Whacked mode on but it just sounded lame. No backroung hum at least.

I tried incorporating this pedal into some prettier songs I knew like Under the Bridge and Stairway to Heaven but it basically took away from any good tone I allready had. The flanger is practically non existent and you have to really strain you ears just to realize that it's even on.

The chorus sucks nuts, it's impossible to get a nice chiming chorus sound, it's quiet and suttle on the highest settings, and it's chunky and grainy, not smooth like chorus should be. Get an EH Small Clone, or a Boss CE-5, or even a DOD Ice Box, they're all better for chorus. The flange isn't TERRIBLE, but it definetly could be a hell of alot better. I have a Boss BF-2 which I prefer over this by alot, this pedal only makes that "whiny sort of feedback knob up" flange. No smooth even Jet Plane flanging, which is what I prefer, and unlike the Boss pedal you can't cut the little dip out when the flange hits the lowest frequency stage and starts it's rise back up. I hate that. The Wack'd mode is something new and inventive, if you want a really "Korn" type warbling effect pedal, this pedal's great for those sort of sounds, but very crappy untraditional chorus and flange.

four knobs (rate, depth, delay time, regeneration) and two switches (chorus/flange and normal/wack'd). quite a bit to mess around with, but if you sit down and play with it for a while, you can get the hang of it pretty fast.
Sound Quality
:

the regeneration knob doesn't affect the chorus. it would've been cool if ibanez assigned something else to that knob for the chorus function. oh well...
normal chorus: exactly what it sounds like. the delay time is a little screwy, though. all the way up and there's a slight delay (hey!) between your playing and the sound coming out of the amp. this might be just because i've only played in mono, though. if i had more than one amp i'd try it in stereo. not a particularly outstanding chorus, but it does the job adequately.
normal flange: no complaints, works great. plenty of versatility in the sound. not really much else to say about it.
wack'd chorus: a really unique sound. can work as a really screwed-up, almost square-wave sounding chorus, a vibrato, and a light ring modulator. some settings obscure the notes altogether. a freakin' hoot if your into making noise. i have a setting that'll get a sound kinda like the clean guitar intro to radiohead's "my iron lung".
wack'd flange: more craziness. more quasi-ring modulation and a sorta mutant lesie-wannabe sound. less pitch modulation, too, for a more distinct sound from the wack'd chorus. lots-o-fun.

seems to be built pretty well. not quite boss-caliber, but better than the soundtanks and it's sure as hell better than dod's. it's never given out on me or anything, but it isn't too kind to batteries. an a/c adapter would go nicely with this. the whole tone-lok thing is nice, too, but i've never had any problems with settings getting messed up or anything. maybe i'm just more careful than other guitarists...

for a normal chorus/flange pedal, it's simply adequate. nothing outstanding, but nothing to scoff at. there's definitely worse out there, and for $70, the price is definitely right. but throw in the wack'd setting and this thing becomes a real asset to any sonic youth fan's setup. i've even managed to make the pedal itself make noise without any signal from the guitar. fun stuff indeed. if lost or stolen, i'd have no choice but to replace it, because no other pedal can do what this does. i'd need at least four different pedals to match this one. this thing has it all: quality, versatility, uniqueness, and damned if it ain't a lot of fun to play with.

The CF-7 is a pretty cool pedal. It's a Chorus/Flanger pedal for those of you who don't know. The sound is killer. I've just gotten serious about playing guitar again, and I bought the pedal for the Flanger option. But I've fallen in love with the Chorus option a little more, because it gives a really nice full sound. The Flanger option gets a little carried away sometimes if you have your reverb up too much.

I'm using the CF-7 with an Ibanez AX-220 guitar, a Peavy Studio Pro 112 amp, along with a footswitch. The Chorus option is really good on this pedal. It's gives a nice full sound that I really haven't found with other pedals. Now the Flanger option is ok, but get's a little out of control if your reverb is up too much. I like hard styles of rock and alternative. With a clean channel, the pedal set on chorus, and tuned to 'D', I've gotten a lot really cool Nirvana riffs to come out perfect.

I'm new to these types of pedals, but after aruond 10 minutes of experimenting with the recommended settings that were the leaflet, I found some different chorus and flanger sounds I liked. The manual is pretty descriptive and accurate.

I am using a Fender Mex Fat Strat w/a marshall 50 watt solid state amp. The chorus has an airy, windy kinda sound. The flanger has a swirling kinda sound, but i guess that's normal for both chorus and flanger. They effects are extremely strong, in fact almost too strong heheh. I can easily get all kinds of weird modulating sounds (through wacked mode in flanger), such as ones from Fuel's "Hemmorrhage" and flanger from just about any band u name it. THe Chorus can easily sound like "come as you are", even though i dont' know that many other songs that use chorus. The wacked mode in chorus is pretty nice though i haven't found any big use for it. Chorus sounds nice, thick, and bright in clean drive, and very mid/high tone in distortion. Flanger sounds really high, and almost painful in distortion, I had to set the frequency of teh flange to as low as possible. Also I have the regeneration as pretty low, because teh flange sound basicaly will bury the guitar sound at anything more than 3 regen. Overall this pedal sounds pretty good, and i'm betting, even though it doesnt' have a mix knob taht adjust how much guitar sound vs. flange sound u get like the BOSS flanger does, the regen probably makes up for it. As one point of information, i found really good settings for both Chorus and flanger in normal mode, so i never change my settings, except for wacked mode ( all i change is the depth from 3 o clock to around 9 o clock, cause the modulation is just way too damn strong!) This pedal is so damn versatile, u can play just about anything.

My first one busted, but that's because i blew it out by plugging in the wrong polarity w/my adapter whoops.
The light is fairly easy to see, unlike what people have said. I would depend on it, and I doubt i woudl ever use chorus and flanger at the same time, as they are pretty similar effects, so using them both would sound like muddy shit. I bought this pedal for keeps, not as a backup, or as a transition pedal so i could get a better one later. It's about as good as any boss pedal, and definitely better than any multiFX pedal. THe only problem was that the stomping was a little weird, sometimes i woudl bump into it, and it woudl turn on accidentaly, sometimes, i would stomp and it wouldn't turn on, but that happens VERY rarely, so i wouldnt' worry too much bout that. Overall, it's hard ass steel, or somethign lke that, zinc or something, i don't know, but as long as you're not an idiot, and surge it like i did, then it shoukld be very reliable.

I play punk, alternative, and metal. This pedal covers any chorus/flange/slow or fast modulation/ring modulation/just plain fucked up sound that I woudl ever concievably want. I have been playing for a scant 10 months, but I guarantee you, I'm better than most people who have been playing for around 4 years. If this pedal were stolen and lost, I woudl slaughter the fag who woudl dare steal my pedal, and if it were lost, I woudl go on a wild goose chase finding it....or simply....buy a new one. I love the fact that it has a large button to stomp on, unlike those retarded danelectro and marshall pedals w/that tiny ass circle button hahaah. It is customizable, easy to use, and very powerful (and loud). I compared it w/effects on the zoom and digitech pedals, the boss flanger, and all those boss chorus ones, and this one sounds the best. It never gets in my way, and using chorus in 1 song, and flanger in teh next, is for me, literally flicking that button from chorus to flanger. No knob adjustment required. For songs that require modulation, i have my handy manual with a bunch of recommended settings, which I can use, but generally, it's no big hassle. What i love seeing is those people with multiFX peds cranking away trying to program, or people who think it's worth an extra 70 or 80 bucks to buy separate chorus and flanger pedals, when they most likely won't use both at the same time, and they could get the same sound + more w/1 nice ibanez pedal. The only thing i could wish that it had would be the presets arleady built in, because I really am just that lazy. Thats why i hate multi fx peds taht require massive programming. It definitely helps me make music, and I am using it to write my new CD. My band name is 132, and i would love to hear your comments on my song "cramp". download it on napster, though it's kinda hard to find. The band website will be up soon http://www.the132band.com/ Also, my music consists of punk/alternative/metal, and this pedal has expanded my horizons a lot. I am now coming up w/really nice fills that I will include in our 2nd CD, which will also have cramp, along w/several other original songs by us, and maybe some covers here and there.
Have fun.....remember Ibanez rules.

4 knobs: speed, depth, delay time and regen. (regen effects only flanger mode)
2 switches: Mode (chorus/flanger); Krazy (normal/wacked)
Extras: second output for stereo (inv.)
A huge array of different chorus/flanger sounds can be produced with this compact unit. You can either produce super-flanging sounds, vibe-like sounds, subtle chorus effects and much more....
The biggest problem I've so far encountered is a problem you can only solve by having two of these units: you can't for example place the chorus in front of your amp and the flanger in the effect section without unplugging cables.
Also, using the switches can't be done by a remote like on boss effects.
All in all it's really not difficult to use; note that the regen knob only effects the flanger note, if you often switch between chorus and flanger mode.

The sound quality is ok; since this is a very versatile unit, not all sounds are great, but the CF-7 can do some nice sounds. My favorite is vibe like sound for clean playing (using the flanger and the wacked mode, set to 11 o'clock regen). Unfortunately, there is a little bit more background noise when the unit is on, which is annoying enough to be noted and surely at least somewhat a problem when recording. Some people say, the chorus sounds too hollow, but
A) It's not intended to be a chorus ensemble
B) If you crank either the speed OR depth knob, you get very deeply modulated sounds
C) The sound quality probably comes a great deal from the type of guitar/pickups/amps you use. I also somewhere read that the CF-7 has problem with very loud signals but I haven't encountered any problems so far (I have a guitar wiht a Seymour Duncan SH-8, but I don't use it very often). Hey, what's the volume knob on the guitar for anyway.
I usually use a Marshall JCM900 and a Gibson SG standard, the only other pedal being a Boss SD-1 (before the CF-7). I noticed that the flanger has a great sounding effect on the bottom end with the SD-1. Overall, I'd say the BOSS effects (like the CH-1) or the Small Clone-Chorus surely sound better as chorus, and there are probably better flangers out there too, but the CF-7 strength is the wide array of effects and it's easy use. (I used to use a ZOOM 8080 for all kind of effects, but grew tired of all the complicated sounds and settings, now I rarely still use the ZOOM).

For recording, I'd be careful, for live it's really good (oh, yes, it has a true bypass!). All in all I'm quite satisfied with this pedal, especiall the wacked switch is something you can't find anywhere else (ok, maybe the EH polychorus, but that's about 3 times the price). For the money, you get at least 3 average sounding stompboxes in one. Since I hate dozens of pedal in front of my amp, this is a very compact solution not only for beginners.

I wasn't all that impressed with the individual sound, but I never intended to use it indiviually. Actually the chorus is fine, but I rarely use it. I run a Ibanez RG-270DX or Ibanez EX Series bass through a Boss SYB-3 Synth, DOD Envelope Filter, DOD Metal distorion, then the CF-7 and then an Ibanez DE-7 delay all into a Genz Benz combo and the secondary outs on the CF-7, DE-7 and SYB-3 into a Roland keyboard amp. Trust me, with that setup, you don't even need a Whack'd mode, but it does add to the fun. All in all, the sound is great, especially for the price

I play mostly what I call whacked ass techno-funk bass, but I also play guitar in styles ranging from Joe Satriani to Dave Matthews to Wes Borland, and I use this pedal on almost everything. I would consider buying at least one more of these, just because I use different settings with each song and I think it would be a lot of fun to mess with a couple of these at the same time. This is definitely a GREAT buy for anyone that wants to expand their sound, at around 70 bucks, no other flanger can compete. If you are thinking about getting a CF-7, stop thinking and buy it already. I am certain this pedal has a sound in it that anyone can use, guitar or bass. Also, a lot of retailers are offering free AC adapters with the Ibanez pedals, get'm while you can.

Four knobs (see below) that you set and then push down so they don't get accidentally turned and change your settings from gig to gig. It's very easy to get a good sound. I found the default settings (each knob at 5) usable in both the Chorus and Flanger mode. Set everything at 12 o'clock, put the first switch on Flanger and the second one on Wack'd, and you get instand "Falling Away from Me" by Korn. The manual is clear, but finding instructions in your langauage of choice can take a while. Good diagrams. The battery door has a push-button switch which makes getting to the 9V battery a no-brainer. I always hated unscrewing the screw on Boss pedals because if you overtighten, the effect won't active; if you undertighten, the batter door pops open unexpectedly. There's no guesswork w/the CF-7. Nice feature.

I play guitar --> Original Crybaby wah --> Laney TF700 120-watt half-stack, with pedals in effects loop in this order: --> Fender PT-10 tuner --> Ibanez CF-7 --> DOD DFX9 delay. I play an Ibanez RG470 and ESP LTD H-200 electric guitars. I haven't used the pedal with my band at a practice or performance yet, but I'm sure it will be fine, as I've played pretty loud to hear the effect at "normal" volume. I don't detect any noise. I don't think the chorus gets as lush as I'd like, nor is the flanger "squishy" enough, but the versatility of this pedal more than makes up for those shortcomings. The chorus and flanger effects themselves are nothing special, but the Crazy switch that gives you Normal or Wack'd mode adds a lot flexibility. I play everything from stripped-down Smithereens to Joe Satriani, and this pedal meets my needs. I'm thinking of putting a compressor before the wah pedal, but I don't consider it a must-have right now.

I can rely on it, provided I have a spare battery for it. The crappy Toshiba "heavy-duty" battery that came with it died after about an hour of use. It probably wasn't even alkaline. I hope to eventually put my stuff on a custom pedalboard with DC power supply so I can stop buying 10-packs of 9V batteries (for about $12, they're a good deal). The power strip I use for the wah and delay pedal only has room for one more wall wart, and considering the clutter of another wart and cord, I think a universal DC daisy-chain device like the Jim Dunlop model is the way to go soon. The chassis is made of a tough, lightweight metal. I'd use it without a backup because most of my tone comes from my pick attack, fingering, and amp settings. Effects are just icing on the cake.

I play mostly modern rock like Godsmack, Alice in Chain, and other heavy riff-based stuff without a lot of effects with amp distortion. When I want a clean tone with extra shimmer, the Ibanez CF-7 does the job in the Chorus mode. The pedal is a great bargain for what I paid. A local music store matched the price in an Interstate Music mail-order catalog. No one -- and I mean NO ONE -- should pay retail. Store's that tag their merchandise with MSRP and expect you to pay that are criminal in my opinion. I think this pedal lists for $115, which it's not worth. For that much, you can get a good Boss chorus and DC adapter.

I have been playing for 7 motnhs and I use a Jackson Performer PS6-T through a Crate GX30M. I only use this pedal with my Boss MT-2 Distortion pedal. If it were stolen I might buy the Delay/Echo pedal by Ibanez. Its not that its not a good pedal but I am interested in it. I with it was a little stronger with the flanger. The thing that sucks is, it eats batteries and I think I may end up buying a ac adapter. The Tone-Lok feature is great! You just set it how you want it then lock them down. It has a 2nd output line to use with another amp but i havnt found anything to amazing about that feature. THis definetly bring creativity to my style. Good for its price.

For the most parts, it is a pretty good pedal. My set-up is as follows:Ibanez RG7421 -> CF-7 -> SM-7 Smashbox -> Morley "Bad Horsie" wah -> Crate BX-100. Given the fact that I use a bass amp, my opinion may seem void to some people. I have to admit that the chorus setting in normal mode is pretty weak. The flanger is OK, though. The "wak'd" mode is great for playing Korn and RATM(Rage Against the Machine) type of stuff. The Korn stuff sounds the best, given the fact that Head and Munky use pedals from the Ton Lok series.

It is pretty dependable, if you plan on playing at home. If you decide to take it to a gig, I suggest using a pre-amp because the pedal doesn't have much punch if you use it alone (i.e. without a distortion or other effect).

I love every pedal in the tone-lok series (with exception to the echo\delay) i love the way that they're designed and i like the controls that they give you.

first of all this is based solely on opinion and i dont care how many people knock a pedal amp guitar etc., if you like it, you should use it. secondly many peoples opinion of good tone may be affected buy the certain guitar amp or settings, so different rigs will sound different.
sound quality:
normal chorus-like one guy said earlier it has a little holowness but its not something to not buy this pedal for. its pretty full sounding and will most likely give you the sound you want
normal flange- i dont really use it that much but its good
wak'd flange and chorus-this is some freaked out shit. this thing can go from a kind of rapid detune and swell to a full on alien warble(made up that word but it suits the sound well). great for some contemporary rock. im not a fan of korn and dont listen to the new bands but if you do and want to sound like them this is your pedal!

I play industrial/techno/heavy music in F.I.X. If it makes noise, buy a Boss Noise Supressor, I can't stress this enough, people who bitch about noise can spend 150 bucks and be happy (and no one has to hear any more bitchin'). Gets cool "Korny noises" as well as more musical sounds. If you can't get a sound you like, you're either too old or too picky. This is a MODERN EFFECT PEDAL FOR MUSIC OF THE 2000's!!! Oh, and as far as the "I wish it had a footswitch for chorus/flange switching, BUY 2 OF THESE! Case solved! Personally I favor the Dano Cool Cat for chorus and use the CF-7 for "Whack'd" shit. But in my taste I can value things for their worth and I personally love this product and thank Ibanez for making some new sounds available to guitarists. We will no doubt be hearing some of the sounds that Ibanez's new line of pedals make in the future as they innovate the musicians of the future. Some o fthe most creatinve sonic craftsmen use ibanez equipment exclusively (think Steve Vai, and people don't give people enough credit to these guys, but Korn are VERY creative and deserve respect for their fresh approach to an almost reinvented instrument). When I use it whith the distortion, I get great sounds, very very nice sounding, very rich. But when I accidently hit the phaser with it, It makes pure noise, and you lose all the nice sound. Also, if the rate is at a low level (1, or 0) you can even get a kind of tremelo effect out of it. This is one of the best values out there. The boss pedals do the same exact thing, but for twice the price. A very good deal. If anyone ever stole this, I would immediately buy another one, because it's a great pedal.

The CF-7 is very easy to use, and this coming from someone with no patience for fiddling with effects pedals to get the right sound

This is great for a nice, sharp chorus effect. I play an 81 US Stratocaster through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, mostly trying to get fat classic rock sounds. The flange, however, has a lot of hissing background noise, but if you don't have a lot of silent gaps in the song, you will be OK. The "Wackd" switch is normally a waste of time, but I was able to get a good reverb/vibrato out of this once that sounded like some early 60's surf guitar music.

The construction seems solid, it is some kind of metallic material. It is kind of like a Boss pedal, it seems rugged.
If you ever use this live, though, for God's sake get a power supply adapter. This thing crashed on me at 2 gigs with brand new Duracel batteries. GET THE PLUG! My rating of 10 in this category is only if you have the adaptor!

Playing mostly classic rock and some metal, this is a great pedal for ease of use, and on songs with no fuzz, (Picture "Wish You Were Here"), the Chorus adds just the right amount of color. I like the concept of easily flipping from chorus to flange with one pedal, but the excessive backgound noise on the flange is something to consider when testing this. Overall, for the cost, I think this is a good pedal, if like me, you don't have patience to "program" the more expensive and complicated effects systems.

The Chorus set on slow speeds is OK, not the best. The Fast weird warbling Chorus's are tight as hell! The slow Flanging is pretty cool, the fast freaky flanging is tight as hell too.

I like this pedal - I use it for a standard chord/arpeggio chorus sound only (so read other reviews if you're interested in comments on the flanger, and wacky settings).
Easy to dial in th esounds I want, and the lock down controls are a great idea - set, push in and forget!

Use with Fender strat, Kinman pickups, Laney VC30 (class A valve combo).
What impressed be most is that it produces a chorus with the sound of the original Roland & Boss choruses, which are poduced by mixing a signal with varying delay back with the original.
Modern Boss pedals (and others) give a stronger digital chorus effect by mixing dry with a delayed signal that is switched alternately slightly sharp then slightly sharp - strong chorus, yes, and out of tune - yes!
The Ibane CF7 gives a softer (more mellow), smoother and more in-tune chorus. If you must have out of tune, you can still get it by turning up the rate and depth, but even then, its like a vibrato (same as the originals!)
OK - maybe I'm a bit of a vintage sound junkie - but at least I can remember when flanging, chorus and phasing were distinctly different sounds instead of the cheap sound-alike emulations we're conditioned to today.
I could go on, but I'd rather plug in that chorus again!

It comes with a manual in several languages, it gives it a basic rundown as to what each dial does.
The thing is that is has 4 different dials on it, speed, depth (the basics) plus a delay dial and a regeneration dial used for the flanger.

I'm playing through single coils and a standard tube amp.
It sounds quite sweet, like a danelectro thing is, it has a delay feature which adds an interesting dimension to the sound, with the delay alone you can recreate bathroom echoes, so you can get a great combination of colors to play with.
ive been looking for a pedal which could be a mix of both sweet chorus and roarty chorus, i think this pedal comes closer to it that any of the MANY i have tried, to get it rotary sounding set it to "wak'd" and turn the speed from 2-5 and the depth to 1-4 keep the delay on zero.
anything higher will be too "wak'd" so to speak.
for the shimmering sweet spots, just set it to regular chorus and anything works.

The dials can be popped in and out of the unit, which i guess mean they would be more relaible, but it remains to be seen in years to come how well they fare.
The battery lasts about as long as any chorus pedal, i.e not very long at all...always carry a spare 9 volter.
apart from that it seem BOSS like in sturdyness.

This pedal is fairly easy to use. There are only four knobs: speed-depth-rate-regeneration, the chorus/flange switch, and the "krazy" switch. It took me a while to see what each knob does, but eventually I got it. There is a button at the front on the pedal to open the lid for battery access.

I play: Fender Hollywood Strat-->Dunlop 535 Crybaby Wah-->cf7-->Crate GX-15. The flange is decent and I think the chorus is better. I wanted the flange to be thick kinda like Tom Morello's, but it seems rather thin. Maybe I just need to set the settings a different way. The guy @ at sam ash said the boss sweep range was bigger, and I thought it sounded a bit thicker as well. The chorus gets to the depth that I like it at. It is good for strumming and leads. I don't bother with the "krazy" switch. Personally I think it is retarded. It just tweaks up the speed so that the guitar sounds like a toy, or something employed w/ techno music, which I hate.

The instruction manual said to buy an adaptor, because the battery (9v) would drain very quickly. At first I thought they just wanted some more money, but they weren't kidding. The Toshiba 9v that came w/ it didn't last me 20 minutes, and when I replaced it w/ a new battery, the new one didn't last me a week. The LED light dims as the power goes down, and so does the sound quality. Another thing is that if you hit the bypass too quickly or let your foot slide off, the lid will pop open. Besides that, I think it is fairly reliable. I don't play gigs, but if I did I would use this pedal w/ an adaptor and be sure to place a solid tap on it to turn it on.

I like to play mostly punk, metal, and strum open chords. There are not a lot of ways to employ the chorus or flange w/ punk, but it is a good match for metal music. The flange fits nicely into intros or bridges, and the chorus works great w/ leads. The chorus also makes strumming sound better. If it were "stolen or lost", I would be pissed that someone stole something from me, then I would be pissed I was cheated out of 60 bucks, and then I would probably get another one. I would get this same model because I don't think there are any other chorus/flange pedals. Overall, I like the features on this pedal. It augments my sound nicely and I am planning to write songs w/ it in case my friend wants me to play in his band.

I play a strat through a Marshall 2000 dsl 401. Flange is what you
would expect. Chorus is very weak. I also play through a Princeton
Chorus so I guess I'm grading the pedal against the chorus amp. Bottom line- if a full rich chorus is your thing(like me)then this pedal is not for you. Also, this thing has a "krazy" mode which
produces some super speed vibratos and ringing effects that I would
never use in a zillion years. It sounds like a keyboardist gone balistic!

I plan on returning this pedal in exchange for the delay/echo. I have
a Yamaha chorus pedal that's at least 12 years old. It still sounds great but has taken some abuse. I'll stick with it. I don't use effects that often anyway. I always seem to go back to the basics:
Fender Strat-Marshall amp.

The chorus gives awesome feedback on clean and pre/post amp on my Peavey Rage 158 with my Fender Strat. It sounds nice on my Danelectro mini amp, too. I use a Dunlop Crybaby with it a lot, and the chorus really adds to it. The flanger is nice, too. It is a little annoying, with the background fuzz sound, but I alos live near a radio station ANG Base, and a Navy base, so what am I gonna do? I absolutey think this pedal is awesome.

Very nice pedal indeed. As far as ease of use, having a chorus and flanger in one pedal, can make it tricky to switch between the two. It woulda been awesome to have an on/off switch and then a chorus/flanger switch, but oh well

This is where the pedal is awesome. Excellent chorus, nice flanger (the manual even comes with a few recommended settings). Excellent pedal for those seeking a nice sound. Throw in the fact that its more like 3 pedals in one make it even more appealing. Im playing through an ESP H-100 and a crappy Samick amp..but im still impressed. Like i said, it can be a lil painful to switch the settings but it is overall an excellent pedal. (and as above, emial me with some cool settings)
