This pedal is simple to use. You can set the knobs anywhere and get a good sound.

Sound Quality : 9
The thing about this pedal is that it is 80's digital. Effect makers didn't quite have "digital" down right yet, there was no such thing as "amp modeling". Though this pedal is digital and "replicates" a chorus sound, it is my favorite. I own 4 chorus' and this one is ALWAYS on. It won't do the think "underwater" sounds that the EH Clone does, but it adds a whole lot of thickness to your sound.

These pedals have been around for 20 years now, mine may have 1 scratch on it...but no more than that.
As stated before this pedal is never off in my signal path.
The question is "would i use it on a gig without backup?"... my answer is, that I would cancel the gig if I didnt have it.

Ibanez no longer offers Customer support for this pedal... the same way Chevy dealers no longer offer support for a nova built in the 80's.

Overall Rating : 10
I don't care for the way the battery compartment is set up, but I use adapters anyway. Most people would complain that it is too subtle, but really, do you want to hear the effect or your guitar?
I've been playing since I was 14 and this is one of the best chorus pedals I've played through. It has a great crystal-pristine sound, not that goopy rubberband sound from chorus' made by dod or danelectro.

Fairly Easy. You don't need a manual, but this has two sets of controls, most musicians can handle that....C'mon..you can figure it out.

Sound Quality : 9
Very good sound on guitar AND bass. I've used Fender Strat and Fender Bass w/EMGS (both guitars) with this pedal. Versatile--good tone.

Reliability : 8
This series the "L" or "Performance" series (mid '80s) are pretty reliable. I never did like their hard to open top load battery compartment though. The "9" series was better (bottom load). The BOSS people have the 'top load' (access to 9v battery) thing down though. Reloading 9V's on this series Ibanez can be a hassle, compartment 'switch open' lever can stick. Other than that, well built.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to call Ibanez. All of my products I've owned/used by them were used, but never any problems.

Overall Rating : 9
A great alternative to very spendy TC ELECTRONICS or others such as FULLTONE, etc...worth spending (up to) around $75 on. If you see one, you might like it. I've tried MANY pedals and this one is solid as far as tone. Not a huge tone-sucker either.

This is a stereo chorus, with an inverted secondary output. I still haven't totally figured these things out but I like it much better than it's predecessor, the BC-9 Bi-Mode Chorus. Same knob configuration as the BC-9 - two speed and two width knobs (one pair for each output). It's easy to get some great chorus sounds but due to the number of possibilities available with four knobs (all four still function even if only one output is used) it's tough to keep track of some of them.

Sound Quality : 8
I like it better than the analog Ibanez ones... goes from shimmery to metallic to a nice psuedo-Leslie swirl. Not noisy at all. I'm using it in the loop of my Fender Concert; the cool thing about older Ibanez effects is that they don't interfere with your guitar and amp's inherent tones.

Reliability : 8
The LED blinks on/off intermittently, which most likely means a cracked solder joint on the circuit board. The pedal still works fine though. This is nearly identical to the "10" series pedals (all metal construction) except that the rubber pad on the stomp switch has a different design on it.

Never contacted Hoshino for this one.

Overall Rating : 8
It's my favorite dedicated chorus in my collection. It's very versatile, and I prefer the digital sound over the older analog ones. It gets a very wide variety of chorus sounds out of it.
