Pfffffffffffttttttttttt..........

Overall Rating : 5
Does what it is supposed to do.....
I just wish that all pedals were true bypass, so that we don't have to play the mystery game....
Playing Strats through several pedal looped out, into a Peavey Delta Blues...
Leave this thing on, your OK!
But you can't play delay on every song....LOL..
But,I have tried!
LMAO......

easy, great sounding delay. digital , but has a good
character. not too bright. Thress knobs, mix, delay time and feedback.

Sound Quality : 10
using with strat like guitar and 68 fender champ. sound fine.
used with marshall distortion pedal ( jackhammer and gov.nII) both sound great with the delay. delay could take any signal I put through it. great for any delay effect you want. makes an outstandin tight reverb type effect at lowest delay setting and highest feedback.
I'll give it an 9 because the quality is great, but it is no 20k.
then again nothing in real life is 20-20k ....

Reliability : 10
seems fine. some folk don't like the plastic cause. well the plastic is very tough. hey most cars theses days use plastic....if you treat your gear well it will last. sure I'd gig without a backup

simple effective delay. soundtank serise is a sleeper, as they say.
no fuss, I don't want 20 types of echo or delay...just something that works well and is simple. I want to play music not program machines.

The controls are Mix, Repeat and Delay. It is very easy to use but more importantly it sounds extremely good.

Sound Quality : 10
The sound quality on the DL-5 is very good. It does not sound like a digital delay but more like an analog echo effect if that makes sense. It has a very organic sound that blends into the mix rather than being layered on top of it. I noticed another reviewer using this with a '68 Fender Twin and getting comments after the gig as to what delay?? Then you show then the soundtank and they are like what the hell!! that thing sounds increadible.

Yep it sure does, from slapback echo to mild space cadet this thing is truely a sleeper pedal. It is like anaolog warm with digital clarity and no noise at all.

It works beatufully with other pedals such as my Arion SCH-1 Chorus (awsome pedal to).

If you see one of the DL-5 pedal's you should try to get it as there is nothing like around for quality, warmth and clarity when recorded or live.

Reliability : 10
Never missed a beat. It is made of some sort of plastic but it has a solid metal base with a lot of weight and the pedal part is very! thick.

Overall Rating : 10
I play Blues, Jazz, Emo, Rock, Pop.

It has 3 knobs so it is very easy to use. You don't need a manual (i hope)

Sound Quality : 9
It sounds really good. It is not noisy. It says digital delay but it sure has a great warm sound to it. It also functions in real time which is strange. You can twist the delay speed and get analogue like effects. The only problem is that the delay speed range is not the great. I would like it if I could get a slower delay.

Reliability : 8
I have had it for 9 years now with no problems although the plastic shell does not inspire confidence. It is not bullet proof but seems to be sturdy enough.

Customer Support : No Opinion
NO idea.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
It sounds good and doesn't give me headaches. It does not have the sterile sound of other delay stomp boxes I have tried

Three knobs and a pedal-switch. No problem. I don't have the manual, because I got it for free from my girlfriend.

Sound Quality : 8
Speaking of DELAY, I love The Edge from U2. While I can't get a sound like him (duh, his stuff is a lot better than this), I can get a decent sound out of it. Delayed distortion doesn't sound as good clean, but oh well...

If you set this up correctly, you can get a good vibrato sound out of it. You can also play with the speed knob and create cool whirling sounds.

Reliability : 10
It's about 10 years old, and I've never had a problem with it, nor had my girlfriend.

I play music with an eclectic sound, and this is a good pedal for anything I want to do. Most of my music is experimental, so a couple of pedals come in use. I don't think I'd trade this in for something better or newer unless I was going to spend a couple of hundred dollars on whatever I got in it's place.

Very usefull standard Delay.

Never needed them.
No problems with the DL5.

Long delay (400ms), great sound.
There is no better delay for this price.
You can't do much wrong with it!

Three knobs, there you go. Sounds good in an instant. It doesn't give any number of freaky sounds, but what it does it does well.
It has a very analog, no-nonsense feel to it, which I like very much.
I bought it used, so no manual. Didn't need one, either.

Sound Quality : 9
I've been playing for 19 years, so I know tone. I use a Telecaster , Ibanez Tubescreamer,
Ibanez SC 10 Chorus, and this thing with a Vox AC 30 amp. I go for a down-to-earth 70s
rock tone. I need stuff that is easy to operate, doesn't freak on me and delivers
good sound. I play strictly rhythm 99 percent of the time.
The DL 5 is quiet and very warm sounding. You can't get a bad sound with this.
The downside is, it does pretty much its thing, no fancy options, no tap
delays, no backwards stuff, all with a maximum delay time of 400 ms.
Here's the good news: What it does, it does admirably well. You can get those
U2 style sounds, like "Bad". Very round sound, not sterile at all.
Solid, simple, good sounding box. Also works OK with my Tubescreamer.
Metal may not be its piece of cake.

Reliability : 7
Plastic casing, but sturdy. The battery cover has to be handled with care.
That's the major weakness. But you'll want to use a wall wart anyway.
So far (5 yrs) it was dependable. I don't use a firethrower onstage so I
wouldn't consider a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Didn't have to call them.

Overall Rating : 10
I play guitar oriented rock / pop. I go for a vintage sound, mostly clean,
and this unit matches OK. I'm satisfied. I also had a SE 50 multieffect,
and the sound of the DL 5 is MUCH better. Much easier to use, too. I prefer to
play music, not fiddle with knobs. Only other delay that I like is my
old Alesis microverb III (the one with the knobs on it). But for guitar,
I prefer the little plastic bug because of its warmer sound and no-nonsense
operation.
I probably wouldn't bother with getting this exact thing again if stolen,
I just go for what sounds best to me.
You should know by now that this thing doesn't get in the way. I have produced
lots of good recordings with it. I just like that I don't have to bother
while I'm playing :)

Can't beat it for the price, and it has character. Good enough for me.

Boneheadedly simple. Level, Repeat, Delay. I haven't had any problems with this one, but I also have a Soundtank Thrashmaster and the footpedal doesn't always latch.

Sound Quality : 10
Running this at the end of a lengthy chain:
Gibson Les Paul Studio > Boss Tuner > Boss Flanger > Dano Flanger > Boss OD-1 > Dunlop Wah > DL-5. This all runs into a Fender Champ 25SE. Seems to be quiet for gig levels, haven't done a bedroom test, but to me, that really doesn't matter at this point. Since it's not the longest delay you can't get the Petrucci 3-second solo delay thing, but cranking the delay time to it's maximum is the perfect speed for that Dave Gilmour "The Wall" galloping rhythm part.

Reliability : No Opinion
I've used this one at least three gigs now, borrowing it from my bass player. Haven't had any problems. Except that now I have too many pedals!

I play in a Fuel/Tea Party style band, and this thing works well as a added layer to my solos, or for some nice single note lines and lush chord sweeps. Been playing for 10 yrs now, and I rate thing well above my DOD digital delay/sampler, which can delay 16 seconds but makes more noise than a 747. I would definitely replace this pedal, and in fact have been looking for one of my own. While I do wish it went for some slightly longer delay times every once and a while, at a price of under $75 (US or Canadian) I really can't ask for much more. For someone who needs some usable delay sounds and needs them cheap and reliable, I haven't found anything to beat it. If you want more, then pay more.

Easy to use. There separate knobs to play with (Ooh matron!). I think even a baby could figure out how to use this one!

Sound Quality : 8
I run this through an effects chain using my custom Tanglewood Les Paul guitar. I also have a wah, flanger, phaser, tremelo and whammy pedal. THis pedal is at the front of the chain. I must say that thsi does actually give a very good sound for something like this. I've tried other delays, but this one seems to be perfect for me. DOesn't really go down too well if you you use too much gain, however.

Reliability : No Opinion
Its made of plastic so i'm not sure how indestrutable it is. Ask me again when i have used it for a certain ammount of time.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 7
SUrprisingly better than most other delays I've used and the easiest to use as well. It's not the strongest of pedals that has been made, but i would certainly try and find another if i lost this one (If they still make them that is!)

Ease of Use : 6
easy to use: three knobs. getting a good sound out of it? almost impossible. but that's another story.

Sound Quality : 6
this effect isnt always in my chain, i use it along with a chorus pedal, my super-noisy strat, and lots of feedback to make spacy noises by turning the knobs. its good for that. but if i want actual delay, i'll use the boss dd5, which is the god of digital delay.

Reliability : 4
well the battery connection doesn't work, but the thing ate batteries at the rate of ten nine volts a second or something..so i use an ac adapter. true, delay pedals suck on batteries, but this one is the worst.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 5
well i sorta um..borrowed this pedal from someone, he never asked me what happened to it. i got a delay pedal for free. i've been using it to make space noises. if you want the sound of a space ship crashing, this pedal will work. if you want to use it for actual delay, this pedal is not versatile at all but its cheap. i say, save up your money for a boss rv3 or dd5. it will be worth it.
