c'mon. its a flanger. along with basic chorus, tremolo and phaser these are the easiest to use, even if youve never used one before..

Sound Quality : 10
man the ibanez flangers are really my favorite.. ive tried many, but the ones ive kepy are the yellow sf-10 and fl-303 reticon. i really have yet to try anything quite like these, though i would like to get my hand on a swell flanger with no name lovetone one day...
minimal noise unless you want noise. im playing an aria through marshall valvestate and a bunch of other pedals . im an effects maniac but i find this works nicely with my yamaha analog delay rack , boss super shifter.. try it with a ring mod and youll get some incredible unstable sounds.. plug through a drum machine or synth..and its even cooler. plug through my other fl303 flanger? you dont want to be in the house when that stuffs happenin

Reliability : 9
80s ped still going strong, though no tank.

noooo idea...

Overall Rating : 10
these 10 series are becoming more and more valued, unlike one poster i read... they are in NO way undervalued, i dont know where he lives but 10 series ibanez pedals can go for the hundreds of dollars.. for forty i think its quite a steal, considering this is the best of the 10 series flangers [analog!!!] and i dont plan on letting go of my other 10 series pedals the delay champ, session man and dml20, dsc10.. though they look similar to L series they are different and in my opinion far superior.. and what sucks is people are figuring this out and charging on places like eBay far more than they cost to manufacture and way way more than retail value. of course they arent sold new in stores anymore, so even these things were made in the 80s they are now considered 'vintage'..heh. if you find a 10 ['power'] series pedal, WHATEVER it is, for a reasonable price, get a hold of it fast. theyre all great! in my opinion best series ibanez ever put out..

Ease of Use : 10
It's actually very easy to use. Complete set of controls: Speed, Width, Regen, & Delay. Analogue.

Sound Quality : 10
I use primarily an 82' Tokai Love Rock Custom or a Strat Lonestar into a Traynor YCV40 (all tube) amp. The contents of the pedalboard changes from time to time but for the most part: Bad Horsie Wah, Visual Sound Route 66, TS-9, SD-1, SF-10, DL-10, and lastly a Visual Sound H2O.

I wasn't really looking for a flanger when I bought it but what a great find! Depending on the settings it does a pretty good chorus, a nice Robbin Trower/Van Halen flanger and can even do short delays. If your looking for fun you can take the knobs toward their extremes and really get some wild stuff happening. At conventional settings there's no discernable noise but this will change if you crank the Regen to the extreme.

It beats the pants off pretty much any flanger I've owned/tried in the past and they can be had very reasonably (actually the whole Ibanez 10 series are great values).

Reliability : 10
It's never let me down - even the switch has no faults. I gig with it regularly and although it sees limited use, it's always ready to go.

Hmmmmmm.... 1986

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for close to 40 years and still play out on weekends - mostly classic rock (this pedal's great for 80's tunes!).

This pedal's not essential but if it was lost/stolen I'd look for another. I really think that this whole series is way under-valued and this pedal in particular is more than a one-trick pony that can cover flanging, chorus, and a bit of slap-back (plus it can provide hours of entertainment when you goof with it).

An absolutely great value!

Easy to use, but if you add too much regen it makes noise. The manual had a few suggested settings that worked well. It can even do a good chorus sound.

Sound Quality : 9
My setup is changing as we speak. It was:
88 Ibanez RG550 or Kramer V - Ibanez FC10 Distortion - Ibanez SF10- JCM900 2100 Preamp section - BBE Sonic Maximizer - JCM 900 Power amp section - 1970's 4x12 cab. Sometimes I would put the Flanger in between the preamp and the BBE unit. I'm upgarding to some rack stuff now feeding into the JCM 900 poweramp section. It has always sounded great since I got it in 1989 or 90.

Reliability : 10
Its been working since 1989 or 90. I haven't even needed to repalce the battery clip like I had to on the Distortion pedal. I would use it without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them.

Overall Rating : 9
If it were stolen I would buy something else that does multi effects (which is what I've done), but I would miss it. These Ibanez pedals are pretty much bulletproof. My SF10 is for sale now.

this thing is the shit. i tuck my bitch in bed with me at night because i love my sf10 so much. i got it used at a garage sale from some drunk dude sipping on iced wine who said $40 and i talked his ass down to $22.35. i don't know much about it, but it makes some bitchen noise.

Sound Quality : 10
i am running a chain of effects linking up to a keyboard and trying to produce the sounds of pigs fucking, smoke a bowl and sit in the garage and make racket. i dig my sf10 so much that i often times put it up my ass when i sleep.

Reliability : 10
i would swear by this fucker.

i don't know a goddamn thing about this yellow son of a bitch.

Well, it's a pretty basic flanger with 4 knobs. Speed, Width, Regen and D-time. Stomp on it and fiddle with the knobs - though there are bad sounds at extreme settings...

Sound Quality : 8
I play a Gibson SG Gothic -> Dunlop Crybaby Wah Wah -> H&K Tube Factor -> modded Boss DS-2 -> Ibanez GE-10 -> Ibanez SC10 -> Ibanez SF10 -> Ibanez DDL10 into a Fender SF Vibrosonic Reverb. It's an all analog flanger (uses the Panasonic 1024-stage BBD) that won't sound as strongly flanged as the Boss BF-2 or even digital units. There's a trim-pot underneath the stompswitch that controls the amount of regeneration. This effect can go into heavy oscillation at some regen-settings. I find it less metallic than a Boss Flanger. But it could have some wackier sounds.

Reliability : 10
At least ten years old and still running. That's what I call reliable.

Customer Support : No Opinion
They don't produce this unit anymore, so no support.

Overall Rating : 9
Great! Especially considering the price. Wish I could get some heavier settings, but maybe after some tinkering. There are two trimpots inside the case that aren't accessible from the outside; maybe I should mess with these?

I'll give it a 9. This pedal is easy to use. It has four knobs(speed, regen, width, and d-time) that can be used to dial in the sound your after. The jacks for cables are on the top rather then the sides which is nice as it allows you to save pedal board space. It is not the greatest flange sound ever, but it has analog circuitry which produces a very warm and deep sound on certain settings. I use it with the flange sweep rather unpronounced simply to fatten my sound, or with the speed high for a vibrato typer sound. For those of you who like to experiment and make noise you can get some feedback type overtones by turning the regen knob up past 3 o'clock getting more heavy as you go past this.

Sound Quality : 8
I play a '62 fender jaguar direct into the board of my home project studio after running it through various effects chains. The sweep of the flange can be noisy depeding on if you have it before or after certain other effects but this is true of most modulation effects, one simply has to get the levels of all effects in order. This pedal fattens my sound and adds a deep shimmer that I like, especially when i put it before my boss dimension-c. I play a very layered and processed sound dimilar to cocteau twins, slow dive, my bloody valentine, etc. and this pedal is an often used tool. If you dont know who these bands are dont worry, you can get dime store flange sounds from this unit as well.

Reliability : 10
Bought it used a few months ago and have had no problems with it. It seems to be a solid unit.

Customer Support : No Opinion
have not needed it.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for 12 years, and am an effects junky. I have owned numerous flanges and this one is a fav due to the deep tone it can produce. If lost I might replace it, but I am always buying other pedals i have not tried, so maybe I would branch out. It does it's job: Flanges. What more can you ak for.

if you've used any flanger before, this should be easy. if you haven't, just play with the knobs to see what does what. most stompboxes are pretty simple like that. i got it used, no manual. the only hard thing was figuring out how to get the battery cover to open because im retarded.

Sound Quality : 8
fender bandmaster/2x12 cabinet>ibanez DL5>ibanez SF10>electro-harmonix polychorus>line 6 modulation modeler>crybaby wah>electro harmonix big muff pi. that's my setup. this pedal doesn't make much noise at all. of course, its easy to dial in cheesy sounds, it is a flanger. using them in a tasteful manner is hard, but this one is subtle and blends into your tone instead of killing it completely. its nice and liquidy, adds a trippy, ethereal feel to clean tones. i don't like the sound with distortion too much, but that's my personal taste. i think its better than the flanger on the polychorus. you really have to tweak that one to get it sounding good. i like the guitar tones of hum a whole lot, and with this pedal you can emulate some of their clean sounds. i like the way they use flangers and phasers just to add a little color to the clean parts, and this does the trick. great with shimmery major 7th and add9 chords, or any progressions with droning open strings.

Reliability : 9
this pedal looks pretty old, more than 10 years, i'd say. a lot of the paint is scraped off. its in a light but very sturdy metal case, the foot switch is plastic but if its been working all these years, it should last as long as the pedal does.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 8
i play indie rock/noise/space rock kind of stuff (but im proficient in many rock styles) and this pedal suits that style well. i've been playing about 3 or 4 years and have a pretty good ear for what sounds good or crappy and a good understanding of musical theory, i think. i listed most of my gear above, i play a fender jazzmaster, a slightly modified telecaster and a heavily (you'd cry if you saw it) modified strat.

if lost or stolen, i'd probably not lose too much sleep since my line 6 pedal has two flangers and my polychorus has one. this one was a real steal at $15, i doubt i'd find another one that cheap. i love pretty much everything, it does what a flanger should do. i just wish it was had a stereo input, as i often run the polychorus and line 6 modeler in stereo through another amp. it definately helps making music. you know a pedal is good when you make up a song with it after 30 minutes of playing around with it.

4 knobs and a stomp switch. Speed, Regen, width, and D-Time no manual (pawn shop special)

Sound Quality : 10
Sound is great, i run this in front of a tube screamer set low, and get a real smooth swept sound. i play either an ibanez jem or a gibson sg-250 through a peavy duece vt. gets a very satriani liquid sound. discovered last night, the tube screamed, flanged sound is great to feed thru my zoom for a real old scream on blues leads.

Reliability : 8
eats batteries like a fat man at an ice cream store. so i use a power supply from an answering machine (it's all 9v, 450 ma;) i wish i could find another one of these at a pawn shop so i had a backup.

I am the clueless one here

Overall Rating : 10
i play everything from acid folk (trippy fingerpicking) to sabbath, heavy blues, this pedal is an indespensible part of it. it really smoothes out and liquifies the sound. especially when run on low in front of the ts9 also set low. just a little color to the sound and just a bit of wail when i bend em. beautiful. I just wish i could find another one ;0
